    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

Ah, the Hot Wheels vehicles I've loved and lost over the years! Which reminds me: Does anybody remember the "competing" line known as Johnny Lightning?

  • Posted By: Les Nouvelles @ 10/27/2008 4:51:22 PM

For all of us who remember Hot Wheels, I must ask: Does anybody remember their main competitors, the Johnny Lightning cars?

  • Posted By: drummer1756 @ 10/27/2008 4:35:03 PM

And why shouldn't Hot Wheels sell better than the real thing? They get great gas mileage, and as long as the axles don't get bent by rough play, they can outlast real cars by a decade or so. No oil changes or routine maintenance, what could be better? Oh, and they only cost between $.89 and $1.19 in most stores, so you truly can build a collection even in tough economic times.
And, don't underestimate the attraction of girls to hot wheels, either. My granddaughter has more fun than my grandson when we pull out the track sets and get creative with loops, crashes, and obstacles.

Hey buzzkills, a great moment talking about something great from this country's past just had to be ruined by a bunch of politicos Let it go for a minute will ya? In other words SHUT UP about Obama and his ilk. I can't wait fror the 2012 election wihen the "Hope" pushers realize the error in their ways (that is assuming we still have the right to vote once Obama's socialist agenda is shoved down our throats). Now back to the conversation at hand...
I had the Supercharger and the Tire Case (among others). I had so many of the cars I had to keep them in (gasp) Matchbox cases. I tried my best to keep them separte from the Matchbox toys. I played in the dirt with the Matchbox cars. The Hot Wheels stayed inside so the dirt couldn't get to the wire suspension. A little dirt slowed the cars down a bunch.

I've been collecting since 95 at the young age of 44 I still enjoy collecting but if I cant get it for a song I will pass. Just like real collector cars you may pass on one but another always comes around. I have upwards of 10,000 and no place to properly display them.

I'M 48 NOW. I STARTED RECOLLECTING THEM IN 1995. SOMEONE BOUGHT ME A FEW, A 5 PACK I THINK, AND NEXT THING I KNOW IT'S 13YEARS LATER AND THERE'S 3000 OF THEM ALL OVER MY BEDROOM WALLS AT HOME, (AMONG A FEW OTHER PLACES). NOW WHENEVER ANYONE ASKS ME WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, I JUST SAY; JUST 1 HOT WHEELS CAR, ( I TRY NOT TO BUY TOO MANY A COUPLE MONTHES BEFORE THAT, IT ISN'T EASY). NOT SO MUCH INTO THE "FANTASY" MODELS ANYMORE. I ADMIT THEY ARE STILL AWESOME TOO, BUT I JUST PREFER THE GOOD OLD AMERICAN MUSCLE!!! NOW, I'D REALLY LOVE TO SEE SOME REAL REPLICAS FROM THE 20'S, 30'S & 40'S, SOME OF THOSE OLD ONES, WHEN CUSTOM SUPERCHARGED COULD ACTUALLY GO PRETTY FAST! I WONDER HOW MANY OTHERS WOULD LIKE TO SEE ,(AND HAVE), THE ONES OUR GRANDFATHERS HAD, AND TOLD US ABOUT?

If only I could re-wind the clock... I have thrown away a fortune! I read somewhere the original Deora was selling for high five-figures. I had two when I was a kid. The Hot Heap, I had that one. The Corvette, the Camaro, my favorite though was the Red Baron. As I recall it came in a Monogram plastic model kit of the Red Baron as a bonus. Looking back, I wish I had just put them away instead of giving them to my nephew. Dang, I could have retired on those cool little cars! My kids play with Hot Wheels now. Keep up the great work Mattel!

I am 48 and still have a super chager and many hot wheels. The 60's hot wheels, the beatles, man on the moon, sting ray bikes with banana seats, and those cheesy briggs and straton mini bikes. What a great time to be a kid.

I remember having so many Hotwheels that I had a special compartmentalized carrying case that was full to the brim. It was made of black molded plastic in the shape of a tire wih a handle on top and the hot whell logo on the hub. I also had a lot of orange track that had the propensity to sepererate between the flat and outer ridges. I hope Mattell fixed that. I also wish Mom hadn't gotten rid of my hotwheels when I outgrew them-they'd probably pay for a real new car nowadays.
