Yes, thank you Mayor Kiffer. As someone who travels to Ketchikan twice a year to visit my granddaughter I know how difficult it is to catch that ferry, lug over 150 pounds down the steep incline and up the other side during low tide. Why 150 pounds? Because there are still some things they just can't buy in Ketchikan and Grandma always tries to bring as much up as she can. This means everyone arrives in waves to check in. Not a pleasant experience when they're paging you to hurry up and board your plane. When people who don't understand how Alaska timber reseeds naturally shut down logging, it was a hardship for the community. They need the development on the airport island. Everyone has an opinion and few know the facts.
