While it's great that this community gets some much needed attention and a possible solution to their on-going delima, ain't it funny how the left-wing liberal media only report on things like this at a time convenient to them and the majority of times only against conservitive competition who typically lead the way in making our communities stronger?

CampSalmon.. would you ask the president to without money from our tax returns to build roads and schools in your town? I highly doubt it

I have had the excellent experience of traveling to and working in Ketchikan. The trip there was via airplane. Our team was surprised to find out upon landing that the only way to the hotel was via a Ferry. The ride was beautiful but slow. Getting out of Ketchikan by plane means having to time your checkout with the Ferry schedule or you could miss the flight. I vote yes, emphatically yes for a bridge from the town to the airport. It is sorely needed!

So basicly the govement "gave " them an airporst IN nowhere and needed to connect it to nowhere. By placing a bridge there, it would have connected "Nowhere International Airport" to Nowhere City. How much Federal Money does Nowhere actually rate. It would be cheaper to relocate Nowhere to Somewhere and use the saved money for use Somewhere like the areas that Nowhere has been leachinf off of. Nobama

The prime word here is promised, 'The bridge had been promised to us 30 years ago' ,and as far as I see it the federal government has promised many things to many places. The national memory is short because of the representative style of democracy. Even so, the government should be held to the responsibility of it's own promises. If we citizens lack the confidence in our federal, state and local governerships then how will the rest of the world look to a 'Leading Nation'?

I feel this mayor is sincere, and his points reflect many towns in America. However, I live in Ohio, we just had a new 200 million dollar bridge built in Toledo for I280. Ohio residents are paying for most of this, and our economy stinks. Alaska gives every citizen thousand of dollars back each year from oil revenues. I sympathize with you mayor, but if the bridge is so important, why can't Alaska pay for it.?

I agree with oil king'.simple common thinking is so hard to find now. Thanks oil king, that was refreshing.

    Hey Mr. Mayor,
Why don't you convince your governor to hold back a little bit of the $1000 to $2000 in oil revenues that every man, woman, and child living in Alaska receives - and which the rest of the country pays for at the pump - to build your bridge that nobody else in the country will never use!
