Why are we so concerned with Africa and Russia? Don't we have enough on our plates without disturbing more countries? We need to pull out of Iraq (slowly & diplomatically), surg Afghanistan, then pull out of there, and cease our meddling until our own country is stabilized. Our economy, immigration policy, and rampant spending all need work, no matter who is elected I will suport them as they strive to accomplish these goal. I am US military stationed over-seas, and there's my 2 cents!

You really tick me off, little snot-nosed brat! You really don't know anything about anything, except what you are spoon fed. Think for yourself, for once in your life!

The world was largely at peace? What science fiction book did your professors force you to read?

For some reason, many people think that FDR got us out of the Great Depression. Hmmm, let's see. He was president for most of those years. Only WWII got us out! FDR was a fraud - an elitist. JFK was the same. Who got us into Nam - JFK., who escalated the war - LBJ. Who got us out - every liberals worst enemy - Nixon. If Osama thinks "we will just talk, and sing songs together", he is truly out of touch with the real world.

Time has come to write on a clean slate. Nothing much will be accomplished criticizing past actions, it will only antagonize people. The world wants to see a new president with a fresh approach with sincerity to go to the bottom of the problems with a view to find solution. The world is a dynamic one and old theories will not work. New team, new vision and new approach are required. World waits to see if we take lesson from the history?

The single greatest problem with the George W Bush foreign policy was neo-conservative hubris. This led to unilateralism or narrow coalitions and a step away from following international conventions by our country. The nickname "Cowboy diplomacy" is how it is viewed overseas. Our allies surely miss the better days of Bill Clinton, who managed to respond to international events better than GWB. Now, how many times was Bill Clinton seriously tested by foreign crises before he reached office? None. But, he picked advisors that represented a range of positions, including a Republican as Defense Secretary. And, he actually listened to the range of opinions while deciding the best course at the time. George W Bush tolerated little discent, and his advisors were all of the same neo-con philosophy, or they didn't last.

Now, in this election, we have to think about how these two candidates might choose advisors. Barack Obama has carefully chosen a great campaign team that has run a nearly flawless campaign. He carefully considered VP choices, and came up with Joe Biden. When the financial crisis hit, he presented carefully considered principles to inform the process of the recovery plan.

On the other hand, we have shoot-from-the-hip John McCain, selecting Sarah Palin having obviously not vetted her, as she is the least prepared of any candidate for national office in terms of her knowledge and depth of thought on important contemporary issues... scores of honest Republicans admit that, including Colin Powell. On the economic crisis, he pretended to suspend his campaign, went to Washington just in time to empower the conservative Republican House members to try to hold out, and ended up forcing the proponents of the bill to have to add on billions to win back enough of their votes. Before, he had Phil Gramm, the supply side, deregulation guru write his economic plan, then resign when he called us "whiners". It is no wonder McCain has bled the support of so many thoughtful Republicans and Independents.

The world has gone through too many turmoils during the last hundred year and the end result were hostilities, war like situtuations and wars. The people in general with few exceptions suffered. Will the new leader take the pains to invite leaders of all religions to have a open discussion and find out a solution? In today's world we have seen even a small group can cause a havoc. We cant give chance to those bigots. It is mistrust and hatred pevailing. There are disturbance between Hindus and Christians in India, between Muslims and Jews in Israel and Palestine, Muslims and Christians in Iraq to mention a few. Are these differences surmountable? Can the religious leaders not sit together and root out the cause? What is needed badly is a leadership with strong moral. People all over expects the US to show leadership and we hope the new President will sincerely work to promote peace in the world and make lives of people safe.

The new president will have to pick up the huge mess of the economic meltdown due to subprime mortgage defaults which amount to trillion dollars worth of toxic loans to financial institutions and as the foreclosure continues, there is no good ending in sight. It is well known that the subprime mortgage loans started by the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) passed by the Congress in Carter Administration, it is a kind of government sponsored welfare for housings. The Clinton administration have promoted the wider application of CRA by loosening the restriction of subprime loans. This is a case of housing welfare in government run wild under the conditions of greed and deregulation, plus the creativeness of Wall street on the Credit Default Swap, which produces a global meltdown of financial system

McCain says he has been tested in crisis?

    Some news for McCain surrogates:

    - Sitting on an aircraft carrier in 1962 doing what one is ordered to do, is NOT being crisis tested.

    - Sitting in a POW camp for five plus years, is NOT being crisis
    tested. Tough treatment? Yes

    - Sitting in the US Senate for 26 years, is NOT being crisis tested.

    - Reacting to the recent economic bailout crisis, IS being crisis tested
and ON THIS TEST, HE FAILED MISERABLY.

After 9/11, the US government started rounding up Muslims without cause and without due process of law, like we did to the Japanese Americans in WWII. The Bush administration called it's main internment camp Guantanamo Bay. While there are certainly many guilty terrorists held in Guantanamo, there are also many innocent American citizens who have been held illegally for years without even being charged with any crime. They have been tortured by our government. Some of them have died.

Recently the Supreme Court ruled against the Bush administration in the matter of Guantanamo Bay. The Supreme Court Justices were NOT on the side of the terrorists. They were on the side of the Geneva Convention, that says you can not torture POWs, and on the side of US laws that state you can not imprison a person without charging them with a crime and bringing them to trial. I'm sure that like most Americans, the Justices who voted against the illegal, immoral doings at Guantanamo didn't feel sympathy for the terrorists. They felt sympathy for the laws of AMERICA, the land of the FREE, where even rat finks get a fair trial.

Meanwhile, back in Iraq, the Bush administration is busy trying to build a smokescreen to hide the CRIMES they have committed. Those pesky weapons of mass destruction. Just think, the National Debt went up over 6 trillion dollars under Bush. More than 2 TRILLION of it went directly into the pockets of Halliburton, a corporation owned by the Cheney family. Halliburton is now a DUBAI corporation and therefore is not subject to US taxes. All that money they took out of the US Treasury is going into the coffers of a MUSLIM country.

Did you hear about how the US government is being charged millions for Halliburton deliveries of sand into Iraq from Kuwait? Sand. Like there is a shortage of sand in Iraq? Another contractor shipped sand from Idaho to Iraq at our expense. Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz discusses these and other excesses of our current government's out of control spending in Iraq.

Your grandchildren will be working like slaves to pay off this debt, so that the Bushes and Cheneys can live the high life in Dubai.

Yeah, they're patriots, Bush&Co. They wear flag pins. And hide the money they stole from America in Dubai.

And they want me to believe that Obama is a socialist. Right.

    Do NOT forget:

The republicans DOUBLED the National Debt in the last eight years. That is a $5,000,000,000,000.00 increase.

There is where the spenders are.

Remember, in 1992 the republicans were saying the same thing about Clintons policies as they are about Obamas now.

And Clintons policies created the best economy of the last 50 years, CUT the National Debt and handed Bush a SURPLUS.

Also, Obama has stated any new spending will be paid for with cuts.

The republicans are in full fear mode now and do NOT want you to think about this.

      The U.S. economy shrank in three non-consecutive quarters in the early 2000s (the third quarter of 2000, the first quarter of 2001, and the third quarter of 2001). . . ;

Using the stock market as an unofficial benchmark, a recession would have begun in March 2000 when the NASDAQ crashed following the collapse of the Dot-com bubble.

This is real simple economics. How many full-time employees with benefits does a person with a $50,000 income personally employ? For most, none. How many does a person with $250,000 employ? One less under Obama's tax plan, two less if you include Obam's health plan.

    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

What do you really know about Obama's economic philosophy? Since he has never run a town, state or business, he has no record to look at. Oh, he has made lots of promises, but given that he broke his promise to be limited to public campaign funds, you cant put much faith in that, and there will be no means to keep those promises anyway.

But you do know that Obama, along with his democratic buddies in Congress, personally and professionally advocated for a residential housing policy favoring forced sub-prime lending, which subsequently resulted in massive defaults and foreclosures, leading to your loss of significant equity value in your home, to the point that it destabilized your banks, which panicked the stock market, which wiped out your savings.

Look and listen to Obama for yourself. Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:
