The Palin Problem

This is real simple economics. How many full-time employees with benefits does a person with a $50,000 income personally employ? For most, none. How many does a person with $250,000 employ? One less under Obama's tax plan, two less if you include Obam's health plan.

In the September 15, 2008, issues of Newsweek, Howard Fineman stated that as governor, Palin used vetoes and budgets to cut spending on health, education, and social services. Palin claims to be a soccer mom and friends of families especially children as she carts her special needs child around. I have yet to see in Newsweek or elsewhere what those vetoes and budget cut have done to those in need in Alaska? What had Palin done to help those with special needs, domestic violence, or child abuse? It is getting kind of late but that information would still be helpful.

When is this lady going to go away so our party can start again from scratch? Seriously, I've been a moderate conservative for a long time, and this woman is HORRIFYINGLY bad. She makes stuff up to suit her fancy, and when a news anchor doing an interview calls her out on it she throws a tantrum like a spoiled little prom queen. She has a lot of crazy personal beliefs, every passing day sees another news story that leads me to believe that she is a very selfish and egotistical maniac, and now she's trying to make a power play to become the leader of the Republican party!?!? Are we going crazy here?

Somebody please tell me: When did being a Republican mean that we weren't supposed to think any more? In the last few years it seems like my party has actively dumbed down the base to the point where they only need to holler a word like "terrorist", "abortion", or "god" to make us vote for them like mindless androids. I need a little more from my candidates than verbal repetition of the same collection of unfounded lies that every politician who walks the earth hurls at their opponent. Ultimately, don't we want a Republican candidate who can RISE ABOVE ALL THAT? Seriously, it is insulting to my intelligence that Sarah Palin was even considered for VP, because she is the absolute epitome of courting the portion of the base that doesn't think AT ALL, and shouldn't all of us moderate Republicans out there feel insulted by the Republican party that that's all the more they think of our mental faculties? That we only vote based on rhetoric and BS? Please. It's time for our party to realize that it is ultimately better if they build a base of THINKING citizens rather than far-right religious whack-jobs, because thinking citizens are the ones who will help guide the party to a better place. Think about it. How can we possibly expect a crazy far-right christian nutjob who is only voting against Obama because of they think he's a Muslim (Which he isn't) to understand our economic platform? Answer: WE CAN'T. And if those people are ultimately going to influence the party, how can we expect our candidates to tackle real issues out there if they have to waste their time reconfirming their dedication to christ and the pro-life agenda over and over? We have great answers to the economy and a whole host of other issues, but we are constantly stuck having to drag along people who will never put in th effort to understand it with things like guns and abortion. It's sad, really, because the real gold of our platform is the least understood by the majority of the base. We need to smarten up our base and quit pandering to fools who would just as soon turn on us the second a candidate decided they were pro-choice.

Your basic premise is wrong. McCain and Palin are going to win. The only issue is by how much.

Every one of these votes AGAINST Obama, is also a vote FOR McCain/Palin. How many hundreds of thousands of these does it take to swing an election?

The only 'Palin Problem' is the problem she is making for the Democrats (to be more precise, the Obama Democrats).

The photo of Sarah Palin's legs in this article is another sexist attempt by the liberal media to paint her as a beauty queen airhead. She is not dumb. She is different. She is a woman. She is an intelligent woman, a beautiful woman that liberal women and obviously men can't handle. Her grammar? Pssh! I have read and heard many a journalist misuse the pronouns "I' and "me". It drives me nuts. No one criticizes them. I've heard and read this in the "almighty" national media, not just the locals. The rule is that "i" and "me" must stand alone in a sentence and still make sense in the sentence. Typically "I" is used at the beginning of a sentence and "me' at the end. "I" is a subject pronoun "Me" is not. The rule Sarah broke is that when "I' is used as a part plural subject, it is the last part of the subject. So, she said "I and John...". Big deal! at least she didn't say "Me and John..." If this grammatical error is reason enough to make news with a picture of gorgeous legs (not the first picture of her legs, either), then you grammar critics need to get a life and focus on the real issues, and a slight error in grammar is just that ---- a slight error in grammar. This is not even newsworthy. Shame on the AP and shame on all of you grammar experts. You, obviously, are looking for even the most minute matter to pick

I can not understand why the media has the intention distroy someone, because of the having no or very little close for such an event, that is very trival in comparision to the association that osma hussian has had threw out his life, all of a sudden that is no issue why? why is it that from all corners of Barrak Osama's life there is nothing but bad people he has hung with, associated with, and that"s no problem, everyone has turned their heads.. I see Newsweek is spending money investigating clothes when it could be digging into just what Obama's near and dear friends and mentors see in Obama to chose to associate with him. After all, who knows you best than those you are close to?

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy.He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
