Palin is an idiot. I hope she stays around and loses more elections for the Republicans! The more we know about her, the worse she is.

I love how everybody on the right is saying Obama is a "socialist". Hello, Is not the BUSH administration that is buying up the banks, and now possibly the Insurance companies? Who, are the real socialists? The WHOLE of our Govt is to blame for this mess, not one party or the other. I think after this, if Obama is elected they will bury the hatchet so far into the back of McBush and Failin Palin that she will fade away into the Alaskan tundra!

Cutting to the chase- If Palin were that political savvy, smart, intune- she would not have been tethered to such a tight leesh, she would not have bombed in interviews- regardless of HOW the questions were asked, she would be ABLE to CLEARLY state what she is about- not talk in circles back peddling half the time- AND so would her supporters; they would not have not driven the "physical image" card, they would have released her credentials, schooling, successes, trials and tribulations, and she would have more "A-Lister(s)" support. (does anyone REALLY remember what or who Elisabeth Hasselbeck does/is, who is Jow Blow again- the guy frustrated "I cannot get l a i d guy"...besides being the one that shot Rosie down...) If she was THAT God-fearing why was she NOT watching what her daughter was doing, she would not be playing the succession card and the republican card against each other. Even more simplistic she would not be acting like a scorned, shot down beauty contestant, the "I'LL SHOW YOU" gig. Unfortunately, because of Females like her (real) Women get labled as such...Take a midol Palin and just deal.

This is all rubish. If she looses this election the best she will get is hosting some fringe daytime talk show on cable tv. Even Alaska will kick her out

Regrettably, this would lead us farther from the old score conservative ideas (like financial conservatism) that make sense (and gain votes from) even to many of the Democrats in the country and lead further down the divisive path the neo-con's evangelized. Your observation rings true since it is apparent Palin is an opportunist and that is turning on McCain post election her clearest opportunity for keeping the limelight. The shoe fits, considering that a woman who wanted her state to separate from the United States of America now wares the veil of bulldog patriot. However, the reality would be terrible for the GOP. Ultimately divisive popularism has to give way to functional ideas or we fall on our face. War, economic collapse, infrastructure decay ... inevitably trump the hot buttons that make people angry but don't actually affect their survival.

Man, you guys give way to much credit to Palin. She's not that bright. It's painfully obvious. She really hasn't been in public office that long and the hits keep coming from her past. I think you're giving to much credence to the culture warriors. Their numbers appear to be dwindling. They're getting old.

You're right. She'll replace that old fool in the senate and then proceed to make a fool of herself there. If she were a river she'd be an inch deep and a mile wide.

Over 50% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of her now what makes you think she can overcome that. I think many here over estimate her appeal to mainstream people. Sure she does well with the party's core but I doubt she will ever be able to win without mainstream appeal. Face it, she has been protected from interviews because she is what she is, a GOP Barbie doll. They spent thousands to dress her up next to an aging angry GI Joe.
