    Mr. Darman,

This woman is not the future of the Republican party. She doesn't have the vision or the capability, and is too headstrong to develop either. Nor does she have the charisma. The best she can hope for is a show on Fox News, and she doesn't have the faculties to sustain any kind of viewership on a nightly basis. No, this woman is headed for obscurity she came from.

Here's what NowfortheTruth cynically says to Sharenews, sneering at how stupid Newsweek readers are:

"You have to spoon feed these guys. The closed mind of a Parrot never investigates on it's own. The chances of more than two of the regular posters investigating a link you provide is next to zero."

That's right, NowfortheHALFtruth. Show us how you disrespect the people on these blogs. And let everybody know your secret -- the fact that most of your links lead to articles that DISPROVE what you are saying. You assume that most people won't follow your links, so you cite them as references when really they show you are dead wrong.

What a lame gasbag you are.

It is only natural, any one like her is not going to be held in check by "aids and spin doctors" for very long. she is going to finish the race on her terms not by terms defined by handlers. correct pronunciation is not a job requirement jest ask W. Did we ever get a dollar figure for hilary's wardrobe?

It's great to have a vice presidential candidate who is relatable. She is intelligent, qualified, and capable. Her plain spoken mid-western speech does not in any way diminish her intelligence. Anybody who believes a regional accent or rural residency indicates a lack of intelligence or understanding of world matters needs to do a little more travel within our own country, and spend enough time to get to know people. I have frequently found people who live in the east or west coast cities, and who attended "the best of colleges" to be unbelievably sheltered and naive about life, and how things work. I think if we could empty Congress out and start over again with ranchers, main street businesspeople,, nurses, waitresses, teachers, ect, who would really be representatives of the people, we would not be facing the economic mess we are now. Our country was founded by men who were disgusted with the European kings and lords whose lives were so removed from those of the people. Their intent was that that our leaders would be of the people, so that they could trully understand the needs and wants of the people. That is the only way they can represent the people.

No not right now-relateable is bad. I know I can't figure out the countries problems and I don't want someone with relateable qualities taking care of that job. I don't mind a midwestern accent, I have one myself. I do mind someone puttong herself out there that has no idea what she's getting into. Palin is leaping before looking. Know your limitations. Don't think that as a politician that this position you carry is above reproach. Polticians work for US- the citizens. And unfortunately we can't just empty the cabinet and start over, we have to work with what we've got. We don't have to agree all of the time, (we're not supposed to-itscalled democracy not Communism) but we do have to compromise. If youdon't like your lawmaker- write to them! Let them know youexist-your cares and concerns-not just those of us who have no life and blog>>>Flap your Yap!

BUSH AT LEAST HAD THE DECENCY TO REMAIN QUIET WHILE STILL SUPPORTING HIS OWN PARTY! PALIN IS BACKTABING McCain and looking out for herself now that things turned ugly. Palin do us all a favor and NEVER EVER come back to the show. No body likes a backstaber.

"So if the polls prove right, and McCain loses to Barack Obama next Tuesday, . . ."

*Next* Tuesday? I thought election day was November 4, not October 28.

Or did my calendar skip a beat?

After reading most of these comments, I see the coming of the fouth Reich and the down fall of America and all it has stood for in our history. The Government owes the voters NOTHING. No Healthcare, No Food Stamps, No Welfare etc. Remember what John F Kennedy a Democratic president, ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT WHAT CAN I DO FOR MY COUNTRY. i SUSPECT THE TIME WILL COME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WHEN THE GOVERNMENT UNDER DEMOCRATIC CONTROL WILL BEGIN BURNING BOOKS AS A START FOR THE CHANGE OBAMA SAYS WILL HAPPEN.

Johns Side Kick perhaps most of what you post is on the mark :-(

Yep, otherwise we'll have to remind you that it's the right-wing nut ideologues who seek to burn our books.

Palin in 2012? Some people are giving her too much credit. True, she is a moderately savvy politician, but she also is blissfully ignorant about the inner-workings of anything beyond the borders of Alaska.

She has the faux folksy charm and lack of intellectual curiosity of George W. Bush and the Machiavellian mindset of Dick Cheney. Do we really want to relive the nightmare of the past 8 years?

Palin does have a skill set that lends itself to a fairly fruitful career in news broadcasting--specifically, she would be great at delivering the weather forecast for a local Alaskan TV station. "Today, Anchorage.......it will be COLD. (Brrrrrrrrr!) Tomorrow, it will be COLDER, doggone it. (Brrrrrrrrrrr!) Back to you, Frank."

  • Posted By: tiredoflies @ 10/26/2008 12:05:58 AM

Palin is so self centered. If she canNOT win as part of the team, she will throw them under the bus for HER OWN SELF GAIN.

What a stinking poor choice McCain made. I am sure he never considered the selfishness of this woman turning against the very team she is part of.

This woman has FIRED ANYONE SHE HAS NOT LIKED.

Republicans are the biggest Hippocrates ever! They are spending 150k on a cloth in a month using people???s money while claiming to care about people like so called Joe the plumber.

By the way, the amount of money she spent on a cloth could have bought Joe the plumber house and would have left her $23,000.

mnick I agree, however, am I incorrect to believe that most of the hate comes from the left :-(

      • Posted By: mnick @ 10/26/2008 12:05:26 AM

It's true that with this artcle in particular, I see a whole lotta hate-from the left. This type of behavior delfates any credibility from any argument. If these posts are re read bythe authors, they may want to ease up on the acid and find plausible arguments without the attitude. So lefties-knock off the c-rap talk. It's giving the rest of us a bad name.

What's strange about the $150,000 for clothing (Palin never did the shopping) is that the media will never tell the public about the hundreds of thousands of dollars Obama and his family have spent on clothing and vacations. It is obvious to all that the media has been controlled by the Democrats and the Obama campaign. But I really don't think it will matter who is elected. You have Obama the socialist or McCain the globalist. Either way it will destroy America in the end.

    • Posted By: mnick @ 10/25/2008 11:56:52 PM

Palin did not pick out the clothes, but she it's simple enough to see that they weren't costly. And if tht type of simplicity is involved then come back in a decade when you know more about life. As for the Obama's and their spending, it is with their money that they earned, or with GOP funds? Maybe that was Palin's stilulus check. Someone did their part to stimulate the economy. Good job GOP. (just incase you didn't feel the sarcasm youshould have)

Sarah Palin, with her unbridled ambition; selfish, evil tendencies; and abysmal environmental record in a state that desperately needs environmental protection, is at once ridiculous, disgusting, and scary. How anyone cannot see through her superficial phoniness is beyond me. Oh, and here's a woman who switched colleges 5-6 times to get a B.S. in journalism. She obviously disdains science--and learning, especially if it requires learning about a factual, legal, and technical basis for NOT supporting her stupid, evil intentions.

  • Posted By: enyaw @ 10/25/2008 11:19:22 PM

liberal journalists present the greatest danger to America a greater danger more than all the other 10exp6 possibilities that will challenge obama the great in 08. Just father Biden :-)

    • Posted By: labman57 @ 10/25/2008 11:47:38 PM

Gee, let's just take them all out to the back alley and shoot them. That's how they handle it in dictatorships when the media starts printing stories that they don't support.

Let's get real. There are 100 worse problems facing this country than journalists that write stories that are not favorable to your candidate.

When you pay your makeup artist DOUBLE what you pay your foreign policy advisor, it is time to start examining your PRIORITIES.

You look just fine without makeup, John. And Sarah is young enough not to need any. So cut the crap, and start paying some good ECONOMIC ADVISORS so you can have a fiscal plan to present to America. We're in the middle of a huge global financial meltdown, and you are worried about hair and makeup? PLEASE start worrying about the middle class, John. Please.

Re: Palin's wardrobe-I'm sure that not only would the country had taken pot shots at her for "down homieness," but for her Alaskan wardrobe. This is a very visual nation and we expect to see our people in the public eye as pressed, polished and perfect. Whatever was spent should be declared as income-if the country has anything to say about it.
What is rather disturbing is the visciousness that is posted on some of these blogs...the great idea of this country is that you can come here dirt poor and earn a fortune with hard work. Unfortunately it seems that some citizens have gotten stuck in that box that keeps their mindset in the middle class. Some ancestors came to the US in search of a better life-some ancestors were forceably removed from their lands to come here. I come from both. I come from family that made a fortune and lost it-food stamps, hand me downs and powdered milk as a kid. This wlll not keep me from prospering, it will be the reason that I prosper.
Why do some immigrants come to the US and just prosper? Because the work their A--es off! Our grandfather's worked their fingers to the bone and weren't wasteful or lazy or had their mindset stuck on the fact that they were poor and would remain so...they prospered because they had their eye on the prize.
The great idea in this county is that you don't have it- you can get it! That landscaper that came here illegally 15 years ago may live in a shoe box apartment with out his own lawn, but he's willing to mow the lawn that because some of us are above that kind of work. Well good for him, that's the point of this nation. One day he will prosper and hopefully remember all of his hard work, and maybe carry on a good work ethic to his children and so on and so forth...
Don't be complacent with your self worth.

I dont have a problem with the fact that the party bought her new clothes. After all, the wardrobe that is customary and nessesary for Alaska is not really appropriate on a national stage. My problem is that you can get a very stylish and business like suit from Macys for a few hundred, but the powers of style in the party went to Saks and Neiman Marcus and went crazy. As far as I am concerned that was thoughtless in this economic climate and opened Palin and the party to criticism.

      • Posted By: mnick @ 10/25/2008 11:44:09 PM

I agree that shopping at the high-end was not smart, and she should catch as much flack as she gave the prior administration with the private plane. She sold that plane to covet revenues for Alaska, how about coveting some funds for those citizens that are living on the street, or who can't afford their prescription meds, or health insurance for that matter. Don't talk so hard if those clothes fit well. Palin could have seen the labels and opted to not wear them, but she made a CHOICE. Don't think that its ok because Palin will donate her new frocks, because if I were her , I'd keep them, she looked great (compared to the Alaska native). Just declare them as income. If we as citizens knew the amount of money that was spent on frivolity we'd want to move to Mars.

Some people are already hinting at a Palin run for the presidency in 2012 (and thereby effectively conceding defeat for McCain).

Palin may very well return to a much more hostile Alaska. She was riding on the coattails of an over-inflated price for a barrel of oil that delivered huge profits to her state. People were willing to give her a pass with respect to her management style so long as they shared a piece of the profit pie.

Well, the price of oil has plummeted and as a result, the Alaskan economy will suffer. Her statewide ratings have already dropped 20 points, and the increased scrutiny of her conduct while governor has given many Alaskans another perspective of her leadership. I suspect we have only seen the tip of her "mismanagement" and "abuse of power" iceberg.

By the next election cycle, Sarah Palin will very likely no longer have the positive image or clout to contend for the presidency. In fact, she may be lucky to get re-elected as governor.

jscampbell..... I believe in one way you are absolutly incorrect. However, america is already destroyed. But, the vast majority of human trash that now takes everything for granted do not realize the american dream is gone. This trash was born into two americas. The trash was born at the end of the greatest generation, and the begining of gutter trash generation. So while the remains of the greatest generation strive to hold onto a long gone american dream. The trash go headlong into their destruction. And do you know something, I don't give a damm.
