Sarah Palin, with her unbridled ambition; selfish, evil tendencies; and abysmal environmental record in a state that desperately needs environmental protection, is both ridiculous and scary. How anyone could not see through her superficial phoniness is beyond me. Oh, and here's a woman who switched colleges 5-6 times to get a B.S. in journalism. She obviously disdains science--and education, especially if the facts don't support her stupid, evil intentions.

Palin is so self centered. If she canNOT win as part of the team, she will through them under the bus for her own self gain.

What a stinking poor choice McCain made. I am sure he never considered the selfishness of this woman turning against the very team she is part of.

    This woman has FIRED .

The problem is that these people that want a relatable leader don't see the downfall in that thought process. I would like my leader to be articulate, intellegent, well-read, possbly fluent in more than one language (it's starting to sound like a personal add, I know). The citizens that want the John-Sarah ticket are comfortable with relatable. The Presidency does not lend itself to the Everyday Joe-which is why our country is in the mess that its in with Bush. Its not necessary for anyone to bad mouth one to make the other look good. Its our job to vote-it our job to stay aware of what our government does. It's our job to not spend what we don't have and then wallow in shock as to the state or the global economy. If a corporation happens to mismanage their funds, that corporation should fold. Just like the citizen that borrowed beyond their means, learn how to start over. Let the new entity rise in its place.
Palin is too relatable, to the point of really not having the verbal to go along with the new duds. If more time were given to make her less relatable and more intelligent (sounding) in a few years, she may have been a good choice. But it's too late, can't go back, can't say ok she's ready to talk-because she's kept quiet on the important issues. Not accepting interviews gave Palinless credibility because no one trusted her to think on her feet. The wow factor by busting Hillary's stones after the Clinton loss of the nomination gave Palin some mystique. It's unfair that Clinton worked so hard to break the glass ceiling to have been trumped by Palin who has no where near the education on the law or much else. That type of respect for anyone is earned through time and trust. If Palin wants respect, she needs to have been around to a few more places, for a few more years, and have proven herself to be more elloquent and less relatable. She can have all the ambiton in the world, unfortunately she is getting more flack as a female, Because of her gender. She dissected because she's new and female. But she's not ready not becuse she's female, but because Palin needs more time to open her mind, learn about the World beyond the US and take a couple of hits, like most politicians.

Why does everyone think Sarah Palin is so pretty. Take a close look at her face: her lower jaw takes up about 1/3 of her face, her upper lip is thin and too close to her nose, her head is too big, literally. She kind of looks like a moose in drag. When Sarah is phographed without her huge smile, she is really not an attactive gal; her lower jaw is way too large both in depth and width. But then, that is really issue, is it? Beauty only matters when it COMES FROM WITHIN and the inner Sarah Palin is UGLY, VICIOUS, A LIAR, A SLANDERER AND A USER AND ABUSER OF GOVERNMENT FUNDS. America is not looking for a second runner up in a beauty pageant of several years ago, America is looking for A PERSON OF HIGH INTELLIGENCE, INTELECT, WORKING SMART, WISDOM, VISION, LEADERSHIP, HIGHLY EDUCATED AND COMPETENT, A PERSON OF INTEGRITY, HONOR, AND WHO LOVES AMERICA AND ALL ITS PEOPLE. John McCain and Sarah Palin do not meet ANY of these requirements. They only support the far right repubs but continue to spew their hatred, riacism, bigotry, and their desire to HURT and DESTROY their opponent. John McCain and Sarah Palin, this is 2008!! We, the people, have learned from 2000 and 2004 that your type of trash-and-burn tactics is exactly that. We will NOT be fooled by your lies and slander and false accusations!! We were fooled twice before and YOU are hoping we will be fooled again by using your Rovean tactics to diminish your oponent!! It is NOT working for you because the majority of us are NO BUYING YOUR KIND THIS TIME!!! You are using the same Rovean tactics that JWB used against you and which you found so dispicable....in 2008 you obviously LOVE those same tactics. YOU dispicabl hypocrite!!

a brighter America 08...You are truly a most shallow person. You spend your time analyzing a persons face while the country is on a very slippery slope. Your time would be better spent praying five times a day.

Cheez! a kind & loving person such as yourself, would make a great VP ! You've done quite an analysis of our girl Sarah's face:) So what do you think about the issue with Germany and Russia and it's impact on the future of NATO?

What if she actually came back to Juneau and governed? I mean it is not as exciting as posing for Vogue and staying in $700/night hotels and having a PR firm promote you with tax payers money but what if she did her job? So far we have had her agree with the Legislature to pass ethics reform Law and take the oil company taxes back to where they were before they got caught bribing ousted legislators. She also brokered a pie in the sky pipe dream of a gas pipeline project that has as much chance of amounting to anything as John McCain has of being credible described as "stable". What if she came to Juneau and learned how to put a budget together? What if she learned how to manage her floundering cabinet.? What if she actually made some policy decisions and developed a team of people to get the executive branch running with a little direction? It isn't very exciting but if she wants to go to another level then it is time to do the job she has. Maybe some day she will be ready but I doubt she will actually do the work as she has shown herself to be incredible lazy when the task is not "all about her". Alaska could use a Governor who is engaged.

"Ohio officials are investigating whether government computer systems were illegally accessed to acquire personal information about "Joe the Plumber," The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Public records requested by The Dispatch reveal information on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher's driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database.

Information on Wurzelbacher was obtained on Oct. 17 through an account used by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency in Cleveland, The Dispatch reported records as showing.
Access to such information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

The Dispatch reported that information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department."

I shudder to think that she is all that the Republicans can bring to the table in 2012....

The RNC really needs to think ahead and formulate a better strategy than to pick someone who brought zero to the plate when needed!

  • Posted By: TomK @ 10/25/2008 10:28:41 PM

When you read the pro-Palin comments here in all their miseducated glory, you truly understand how the Republican party so easily dupes the have-nots into voting against their own best interests. Right now, McCain expects the poor and middle classes to vote for him so he can continue tax breaks for the rich. Poor rich people, they only have seven houses like John and Cindy McCain. Poor rich people, the top 1% own something like 25% of the entire country! Really, everyone else will be lucky to make minimum wage under a McCain/Palin administration, let alone have any job at all. I hope you enjoy living in a cardboard box.

A vote for John McCain, who voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time (some maverick!), is like re-electing Bush to a third term.

Palin is a disgrace to the republican party, Mc cain has ALWAYS had lack of judgement- rmember somehow he got cleared out of the Keating five scandal but the final ruling was he had "lack of judgement" - he elected her without vetting her for any matter Condoleeza was a much bettwer choice and "way to Obvious one" though but better, Mca Cain shouldnt have picked her for the same reason Obama was right not to pick Hillary when you are a candidate for the most important job on earth you cant have someone that shines more than you on your side and Mc Cain did exactly that but to make matters worse her incomeptence was so big that her light faded and Mc Cains campaign got hurt once again Lack of judgement mr Mc Cain she was not the best choice. Palin is unique a really really dumb politician but very ambitious and that has given her the ability to stab in the back of her own party officials and still get praised but her luck has runned out the trooper gate scandals had the word "vendetta" all over it and its wasa bipartisan effort in the middle of an election, yes Alaskan republican hate her guts and proceed with the process eventhough they knew it would hurt her image in the election they really hold a grudge over her now another scandal is on the way and that is the famous gas pipeline that was given to a Canadian Company that she has ties to, this scandal has not come from democrats the ones who really know the details are republicans so she is a dead fish after this election. i think Romney & Tom tancredo are the next big guns with the republican party the reason : IMMIGRATION this subject has gone under the radar in this election Obama made clear he will have an Amnesty in the first year and he really needs it getting past taxes & getting fines will be a quick fix for some economic problems he could raise well over 100 billion dollars with all this immigration processes (i am including speeding up all the citizenship in process and all the residencys in process) BUT this is a hot button on an economy in crisis and tancredo & Romney have been with far right on this issues with a "deport them all" approach (a little unrealistic but very effective retoric) so trust me you will have have a wave of republicanism after the immigration law is passed and it could cost the democrats the control of the congress. and mey be the end of Obamas presidency in four years., Hey these are my views on what would happen not that I agree with deproting immigrants actually I think and amnesty law is good but also with other provisions such as no more birth right citizenship, and secure borders approach and job place enforcement but we cant "deport them all" that is unhuman you cnat deport the already american citizens and please dont tell me that "the kids can stay and the parents have to leave BS" if you deport parents you deport children too its called "right to have a family" and it

I see Sarah's ambition; what I don't see is her staying power. She reminds me of Dan Quayle, and maybe even Al Gore. Palin's ideas and politics were acceptable 4 years ago, and even better in 2000 when the nation felt as if it needed some sort of shake-up. But in 2008 in a society that has become more comfortable in its multiplicity, she won't stand a chance-more so in 2012. Her next step would surely be U.S. Senator though, since Alaskans don't seem to mind electiong someone with very little actual knowledge or competence.

I think that when McCain loses in November, Sarah Palin will be cited as the number one mistake that McCain made. It is not just independants and Demos that feel that way. I feel like I am voting for him IN SPITE of his VP choice, and if he wins, will pray for his health every day. She is a scary idiot.

  • Posted By: mnick @ 10/25/2008 9:34:15 PM

Hey-what's up with the anger? It's not necessary to want to break someone's legs-this is the kind of negativity that has been bred in places like pre WWII Munich-use you words for intelligence. It's the negative campaigning that gets nothing done. All the in fighting reminds me of divorcing parents. THis country wants to be led-not destroyed.
As for Joe the Plumber-wasn't that done four days ago? My teenager understood that when more money is made, more taxes are paid. Move on.

  • Posted By: babybear @ 10/25/2008 9:19:42 PM

are you nuts? the "right wing", after this election, will represent less than 30% of the entire voting population, probably closer to 25%. How Sarah Palin would ever close that divide it the speculation of right wing loonies.
When the "opps" research team has the legitimate time to really start the digging on Ms Palin, coupled with a serious backlash from Alaska voters, (she not only has to stand the huge negative her failings on the national stage) but also get reelected. There are millions of democrats that will make sure she gets chewed up and forgotten in four years.

Good point, notjoeVIpack..! What you said about the growing ignorance in this country is right on. Some of the comments posted here are indeed scary. Depressing how little so many people understand about our current problems and who caused them. Congress as we all know is investigating that now...who to blame? Interesting that their results will not come out until after the election:) But that may be a little comforting also, because they may be planning on blaming the real culprits...themselves!! to do that before the elections would be harmful to the Dems. So by people not understanding now that it was the Dem Majority Congress who is largely to blame for our problems, they are just going to blindly vote them back into power! A more accurate message from Obama would be : "more of the same"...rather than "change". So you got it right, as did RM23. Vote for whomever you want to, but the Dem Majority leadership we have now will be pulling the strings for Obama the street lawyer. And everyone seems to be ignoring that the next Pres will inherit a slew of Global Issues...big ones! Obama is a complete novice in that arena.

I work in an office where female co-workers are efficient only in their ignorance. However, to be fair, male co-workers are also ignorant. I believe it is an industry requirement to be ignorant, and sometimes, it appears, stupidity may be a career enhancer.

      Desperate nonsense......next!

  • Posted By: vav_@graffiti.com @ 10/25/2008 8:15:38 PM

Well, I see the word discuss has been taken quite metaphorically here... A discussion is when people actually communicate ideas and philosophies. Then allow others to intelligently argue their counterpoints. With politics as a subject, it could be considered a debate. This is not a discussion, nor a debate; but rather a finger pointing session. All of the candidates are corrupt in one way or another. Palin's clothes cost more than most people's salaries and few average Americans can afford to fly to Hawaii for any reason. None of them actually represent the working class or middle America; they are all rich. When was the last time an average American ran [and was taken seriously] for any office?
We as a people need to start talking about what is important, and really discussing it. We don't have to agree, but we should at least try to debate relevant points. None of these candidates are terrorists nor are they messiahs; they are just people, just Americans, just politicians.
    So here it is...
What should we do about our economy? Why does it matter if a candidate is black or female? Yes, race and gender are still barriers in this world, but making a big deal about them isn't helping tear those barriers down. I think it actually reinforces them. Palin's image as a "hockey mom" only reinforces some of the stigma applied against women; she is not a feminist role model [though she is a successful women]. Barack Obama is not black or half-black, he has a mixed ethnicity as most Americans do. [ Is someone who is half-Irish and half-Greek considered half-pink or half tan?]
So let us stop fooling around and get serious. Our nation is in trouble and We the People need to do our part in discussing ways to make it better whether we are Republicans or Democrats, Greens or Libertarians, Socialist or Independents. Through disagreement and discussion we may [just may] be able to come up with some constructive ideas and possible solutions. Let us at least try.

    • Posted By: silverpa @ 10/25/2008 9:09:43 PM

Very perceptive, vav_ !! These "discusions" would be a lot more useful and even educational, if everyone could express their ideas & thoughts maturely, rather than the shoot-from-the-hip rage that so many are prone to. I lean to the Right, so I'll be voting for McCain/Palin. I think Obama is a very smart man with a lot of charisma, but to me that does not a President make. I'm less concerned about the Economy than I am about events happening around the World that are potential threats to our way of life AND our economy. I happen to think that history will show that Pres Bush was one of our better Presidents. I believe that the Democratic Majority Congress is to blame for most of our problems. Congress has the lowest Approval ratings of ANYONE! yet the voting public keeps voting them back into Office...go figure:) I am a career Fed with several years in Wash DC. Every new Administration vowes to "change" things from the previous one. They never succeed. The Govt Bueauracarcy is just too big and imbedded. So it is doubtful that whomever is elected will change anything. What woories me is we need to keep the Checks & Balances in place between the 3 branches of Govt. If Obama wins and we keep the Dem Majority in place, we all lose. If McCain wins and the Dem Majority stays that's better. My other concern is are the Global Issues. The Media dosen't say much about what's going on Globally (with Russia, Iran, etc..), but my vote for McCain is a reflection of my concern there...Obama just does not have the experience to deal with Global Issues. Maybe next time. So, as you say, there are real issues out there and Gov Palin's clothes certainly aren't of National importance! We need to vote for the team that going to be best able to handle the real stuff. I hope everyone can start thinking about that and vote with your head not your heart.

Brackets mine..from the Good Book: "Woe to you, teachers of the [ACLU] law and [left-leaning press] Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. Woe to you, blind guides!...Woe to you, teachers of the [ACLU ] law and [left leaning press] Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices???mint, dill and cummin [or money to Barack Obama]. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law???justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. You blind guides! YOU STRAIN OUT A GNAT BUT SWALLOW A CAMEL [LIKE FOCUSING IN ON SARAH PALIN'S SHOES WHEN OBAMAS SHADY FRIENDS, CONNECTIONS AND SUPPORTERS AND POLICIES--LIKE ABORTION-ARE A NIGHTMARE]! Woe to you, teachers of the [ACLU] law and [left leaning press] Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, teachers of the [ACLU] law and [left leaning press] Pharisees, you hypocrites! ...on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." Palin is a smart precocious lady..you have to be to become Governor of the largest state with the most energy resources. Quit slamming her liberal press. Obama is the least qualified and may bring the country to the brink of ruin.

Economy started to fall apart when the left leaning Congress under Pelosi (whose book sold 4 copies) and little beady eyed Reid took power (they have an 8% favorable rating..lowest ever?..and they are perfectly aligned with OBummer). Also, OBama is connected to ACORN, Fannie/Freddie, political correctness, affirmitive action, multiculturalism, etc. which all contributed to the economy going south.

Okay--you're down here now. I will repeat my comment. You and Caribou Barbie need to get over yourselves. The most important lesson I learned in many years of religious instruction is JUDGE NOT... The number one issue I have with the religious right is their arrogance--do you really think that you know how God is going to judge anyone else? To me, the definition of a liberal is someone who does not presume to know God's judgement on other people's behavior.

Do you seriously believe this mess took only 4 years to happen? Our current crisis is many years if not decades in the making, and the primary cause is plain old greed, aided by willful neglect of politicians in bed with big business.

      • Posted By: LMills259 @ 10/25/2008 6:30:10 PM

With all due respect, Ezekiel33, the American Civil Liberties Union is a group that ensures that the law is applied equally to everybody. If there's a bad law that lets a criminal off the hook, they don't say "throw him in jail anyway". They say "work to change the law". The ACLU has been absolutely crucial to making sure that everyone - blacks, Christians, Muslims, EVERYONE - gets their day in court. If anyone ever wants to lynch you or throw you in jail for your extreme views, call the ACLU. They may be your only hope.

        • Posted By: Ezekiel33 @ 10/25/2008 6:57:42 PM

LMills259 Yes..athough it is true the ACLU will sometimes help Christians or whites, they are, as a whole, biased against whites and Christians (due in part to ACLUs pro-abortion stance) and it will get worse under OBummer. I once called a ACLU connected lawyer when I was living in Hawaii where I was unfarily treated on an amost daily basis for not being Polynesian or Asian. I did not get a response..if I was black or a Muslim, I would have numerous responses. I also remember the story some years back where a little was racially attacked by a teacher. When the ACLU lawyers learned it was a little white , nobody wanted to help her. Serious crimes against whites or Christians typically get a blind eye or just a slap on the wrist of the perpetrators. Read Liberal m for more examples. What about most PC commercials today slamming white males as dumb and fat and old, when 95% of meta-patents that changed the world for the better and that benefitted all races came from white males. Why not have a white male invetontor's appreciation month instead and sue the makers of those commercials for being racist? Why isn't the ACLU going after racist Black Liberation Theology or Nation of Islam churches, all teaching ?..the list goes on and on. As this liberal PC intolerance gets worse, it will reach a tipping point that will not be to the benefit of society as a whole in the US.

Here's a question for any Christian Republican who may read this email:
Who determines which of God's commandments politicians can break, and which commandments they can't break? This is important to understand because Jesus used to tell a story about a wealthy landowner. This rich guy had a worker and the worker fell behind in payments. The worker begged for mercy, and the rich guy left him off the hook. Some time later the rich guy found out the worker was merciless to his employees, and even jailed them when they owed him a debt. When the rich guy found out, he was outraged that he showed mercy on the worker, but the worker never showed mercy to others. Who picks and chooses which laws to obey and which laws not to obey? It seems to me that it's pretty important because of the "judge not lest you be judged" doctrine. Is it OK to coddle the breakers of some laws, yet scream and holler and rebuke the breaker of other laws? Will mercy be shown to those who show no mercy? Does anyone need me to count the number of times Jesus denounced homosexuals, (few if ever) and compare it to the number of times Jesus denounced divorce? (many). How come Republicans rebuke one Senator for a little same sex hanky panky at an airport, but elevate a known divorcer to Presidential candidate? McCain loves to tell the tale about seeing the light in the Hanoi Hilton as a prisoner of war. Was that real? Was his conversion authentic? McCain's wife was in a terrible car accident, scarred and partially crippled for life while John was prisoner. His wife kept the secret so McCain wouldn't have to worry about her while he was held captive. She did that because she loved him. A couple years after winning his freedom, Christian John McCain found a younger, prettier, richer, thinner, uncrippled woman. What did Christian John do? Did he keep his "til death do us part" vow? That he promised before man and God? Did he remember the "for richer or poorer"? The "for better or for worse" part, or the "in sickness and in health" promise? No. Christian John McCain divorced his older, poorer (heavier), crippled wife, and married the other one a month later. Judge a tree by it's fruit. That's what Jesus says. Matt 7
