it really doesn't take much to imagine what $150,000 buys. No need to send out the shoppers. Sarah maintains they'll be "taken back" or "donated". I doubt that NM or Saks would want the clothes returned after being worn, thank you very much. That being said, while I cannot support the GOP, John of Tustin does pose a good point. Why not interview Wm Ayers, since everyone is so all fired interested in him. I am interested, actually. Not because of his relationshiop with Obama, but how he went from the radical he was to where is is now. I do not condone his acts of the 60s and 70s now, any more than I did then, Far from it. But, I would like to hear the story.

Voter08 -- your post is near satire. Palin is an unapologetic enemy of thought, and this reflects directly on McCain. Did anyone hear her recent comments on fruit fly research? She had the gall to dismiss it as a wasteful earmark alongside the 'bridge to nowhere' (which SHE supported). Yes, folks, she mocked Drosophila melanogaster study -- the same research that has identified a genetic indicator for AUTISM and has given us glimpses of heredity and countless other advances over the last century. This is probably the most disgusting thing I've heard from this woman thus far. We cannot afford to let this kind of blatant ignorance back into the White House. You are towing your party line like a sheep if you think this fool is the "real" anything.

McCain needs to shock and relieve America tomorrow. He needs to FIRE all his handlers, publicly, in a BIG way. He needs to explain its because he wants the last week to talk straight to Americans as person, not a mishandled CANDIDATE.
It's a hail Mary, but it will work, because Americans do not KNOW this man. He needs to talk about what he wants for America, not what's wrong with the other guy.

I Hope Caribou Sarah Becomes the Head of Republican Party for next 4 years... in the wilderness!

No, not even John McCain cares about washed up terrorist Bill Ayers. A few meetings on a school board also chaired by Republicans is inconsequential. However the hypocrisy of fighting for "Joe the Plumber" and then spending more than what his house is worth on clothing to tart up Ms. Palin is readily obvious. The conservatives are bankrupt of ideas, just like they've bankrupted the nation with their wars and tax cuts for the rich.

Mccain needs to fire all his and Palins "handlers" and make a big event out of it.

Then he needs to go and campaign in his own way, saying who HE is and what America NEEDS from its next leader. We need to see the true MCCAIN and PALIN, not the horribly mishandled CANDIDATES McCain and Palin.

She's so scary! If wacky reactionist ran our country the way she runs her family, we are sure to be over-run with xenophobia and teenage pregnancies.

It is not just experience, as the invasion of Iraq has shown experienced politicians can be dead wrong. The problem with Palin is her intellectual incuriousness, her far right wing ideology, questionable ethics and wacky religious beliefs. I hope she runs in 2012; that will guarantee another fours years of a Democrat in the White House.

As a life-long Republican turned Democrat, it is in my view absolutely imperatrive for the Republican party to move away from the far right and to revive republicans like Eisenhower, Nelson Rockeerfeller, Margaret Chase Smith, Lowell Weicker, etc. Republicans can no longer court the creationists, the uneducated, the uncritical ... the entire nation needs the Republicans to to say Goodbye to George Bush and Sarah Pa;lin of this world.

Does anyone else get the impression that Palin is a cross between Dan Quayle and Mussolini? God help us all if she ever manages to get her hands on any real power.

Palin has gone rogue. Watch her carefully. Every move is calculated to solidify her base, the 20% hardcore, extreme rightwing evangelicals who still believe GW Bush is doing a good job. The cranky veterans of the 'culture wars' who would ban contraception if they could. They had their chance and Bush delivered the predictable disaster. Palin will retreat to her base, blame the failure of McCain on lack of purity on 'true' conservative values and wait for her chance. Oh, the banality of evil.

    1. The number of illegal aliens already here - an estimated 37 million according to the Tucson sector Border Patrol union local 2544 (with an additional half-million coming every year) a massive financial impact on our economy by importing the worlds poor.

    2. The Americans who are losing jobs to cheap immigrant labor. In a 1996 study, a Rice University economist estimated that illegal aliens were then displacing 730,000 American workers a year.

    3. The costs to taxpayer for welfare, emergency medical services, education, law enforcement and incarceration for "illegal immigrants" and their dependents -and thousands of State, county welfare is estimated at more than a Trillion dollars.

    4. The opportunities for terrorists to spend some time in Mexico, learn Spanish and infiltrate our borders.

The border fence has never built to original planned because the Democrats in a secret session, gutted funding.

However I will compromise for Health care for my sick family, members, building up our U.S.infrastructure which is falling apart, stopping job outsourcing and selling America to foreign governments. Taking our economy back from China, India and other cheap labor lands. Fighting for Americans, instead of the International globalists who have no loyalty to this nation. I am a small business owner, but I believe that Obama can change the direction of our nation. I just hope over a period of time he doesn't become corrupted like Speaker pelosi or Harry Reid. Most party members never delve into the deeper recesses of the Internet, to extract information other than the national newspapers.
