why hasn't the McCain campaign mentioned the two votes they lost yesterday in Tennessee? Today joe the Plumber said a McCain rally the Senator Obama would cause the death of israel. I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of joe. He fits the GOP mold!

(Continued from my post above: Biden Was Wrong On the Cold War )

    (Part 2 of 2)

    * Mr. Biden has remained a CONSISTENT CRITIC OF MISSILE DEFENSE and even opposed the U.S. dropping out of the Antiballistic Missile Treaty after the collapse of the Soviet Union (which was the co-signatory to the ABM Treaty) and the end of the Cold War.

    * In 1990, Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and, we later learned, was much closer to attaining a nuclear weapon than we had believed. President George H.W. Bush sought war authorization from Congress. Mr. BIDEN VOTED AGAINST THE FIRST GULF WAR, asking: What vital interests of the United States justify sending Americans to their deaths in the sands of Saudi Arabia?

    * In 2006, after having voted three years earlier to AUTHORIZE President George W. Bushs WAR TO LIBERATE IRAQ, Mr. Biden ARGUED FOR THE PARTITION OF IRAQ, which WOULD HAVE LED TO ITS CRACK-UP.

    * Then in 2007, Mr. Biden OPPOSED President Bushs TROOP SURGE in Iraq, calling it a TRAGIC MISTAKE. It TURNED OUT to be QUITE THE OPPOSITE. Without the surge, the Iraq war would have been lost, giving jihadists their most important victory ever.

SUMMARY: On many of the most important and controversial issues of the last four decades, Mr. BIDEN has built a record based on BAD ASSUMPTIONS, MISGUIDED ANALYSES and FLAWED JUDGMENTS. If he had HIS WAY, America would be significantly WEAKER, ALLIES UNDER SIEGE would routinely be CUT LOOSE, and the ENEMIES of the U.S. would be STRONGER.

Lori says that Newsweek is somehow suppressing her free speech. What Lori fails to see is that Newsweek allowed her to air her vituperative, hate-filled lies as much and as often as she wanted. Given this latitude, Lori took her freedom way too far and started getting exceptionally nasty in her comments. For instance, her comments in which she accused me (a Catholic doctor who is anti-abortion) of being an abortionist who murders babies for money.

Just for the record, Lori, I am not one of the people who reported you for being abusive. However, I fully support anyone who did report you. You are abusive. And if Newsweek removed ALL of your comments (instead of just the abusive ones) I think that represents the fact that they don't have the time (or the stomach) to wade through the vile garbage you write. They just erased them all, and not just the ones on the Mattel article. I noticed Sunday that some of your nastier comments of last week had disappeared on several articles.

What amazes me is that they didn't suspend your posting privileges all together. My advice to you is that you mind your manners from now on. Start writing blogs in PRAISE of McCain, instead of nasty lie-filled attacks against Obama supporters. Could you turn over a new leaf and become a positive person? Could your write blogs in which you discuss McCain's strengths and talk about why you think his policy plans are right for America? If you do this, I promise to praise you and treat you with respect.

After 9/11, the US government started rounding up Muslims without cause and without due process of law, like we did to the Japanese Americans in WWII. The Bush administration called it's main internment camp Guantanamo Bay. While there are certainly many guilty terrorists held in Guantanamo, there are also many innocent American citizens who have been held illegally for years without even being charged with any crime. They have been tortured by our government. Some of them have died.

Recently the Supreme Court ruled against the Bush administration in the matter of Guantanamo Bay. The Supreme Court Justices were NOT on the side of the terrorists. They were on the side of the Geneva Convention, that says you can not torture POWs, and on the side of US laws that state you can not imprison a person without charging them with a crime and bringing them to trial. I'm sure that like most Americans, the Justices who voted against the illegal, immoral doings at Guantanamo didn't feel sympathy for the terrorists. They felt sympathy for the laws of AMERICA, the land of the FREE, where even rat finks get a fair trial.

Meanwhile, back in Iraq, the Bush administration is busy trying to build a smokescreen to hide the CRIMES they have committed. Those pesky weapons of mass destruction. Just think, the National Debt went up over 6 trillion dollars under Bush. More than 2 TRILLION of it went directly into the pockets of Halliburton, a corporation owned by the Cheney family. Halliburton is now a DUBAI corporation and therefore is not subject to US taxes. All that money they took out of the US Treasury is going into the coffers of a MUSLIM country.

Did you hear about how the US government is being charged millions for Halliburton deliveries of sand into Iraq from Kuwait? Sand. Like there is a shortage of sand in Iraq? Another contractor shipped sand from Idaho to Iraq at our expense. Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz discusses these and other excesses of our current government's out of control spending in Iraq.

Your grandchildren will be working like slaves to pay off this debt, so that the Bushes and Cheneys can live the high life in Dubai.

Yeah, they're patriots, Bush&Co. They wear flag pins. And hide the money they stole from America in Dubai.

And they want me to believe that Obama is a socialist. Right.

    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION

I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.

He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next

is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.

The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG

The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing

the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations

McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".

That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.

It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.

Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.

Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.

Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.

No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo

It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be

even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.

If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.

When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.

So why are the polls even close then ?

Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama

which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.

They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it

Let's teach him we are smarter than that

Stand up and hold them accountable

Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are

    Elect Obama Biden 2008

France again warns American voters. The French Foreing Minister, Monsieur Danton, addressed American voters from the Palace De Pompadeur. "Attention Americans.....(pregnant pause)......Do not think for a minute that France will stand idly by if you fail to elect Mr. Obama....(another pregnant pause)......Mr Obama is one we have been waiting for. He is the one who will finish sinking your country into a swamp of despair, alienation, and ennui and allow France to emerge as the new World Leader. You better vote for him. Or else. These are not idle threats mes amis. We have a Navy. Nuclear weapons. We have the French Legion. We still have Catherine Denueve. La France is on the rise. " and with this he was joined by his mistress in singing La Marseillaise

Here is what McCain said in 2000: (source: New Yorker)

???wealthy people can afford more??? and that ???the very wealthy, because they can afford tax lawyers and all kinds of loopholes, really don???t pay nearly as much as you think they do.???

    The exchange continued:

Young woman: Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism and stuff?. . .

McCain: Here???s what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there???s nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.

Here is what Sarah Palin said a few weeks before her VP selection: (source: New Yorker)

    Referring to Alaska revenue:

So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.??? Perhaps there is some meaningful distinction between spreading the wealth and sharing it (???collectively,??? no less), but finding it would require the analytic skills of Karl the Marxist.

What this shows is that their argument about spreading wealth is hogwash just to get elected.

Here's a video in which Obama discusses fiscal responsibility. Anyone who cares about the economy should see it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d4a6RNhCUo

On this web page, you can calculate the amount of your TAX RELIEF under Obama's plan (This tax calculator is for personal income, not for businesses. Remember that if you itemize, your tax cut will be higher than what the calculator shows. However, Obama's new 1040EZ allows people to get credit for some itemizations without having to fill out the long form and schedules.)

Considering that one of the most expensive Barbie dolls in the world, cost $85,000 when it was sold new, then I'd say $150,000 dollars to outfit Sarah Palin and style her hair, is a pretty darn good deal if I say so myself. You betcha! I mean, what kind of society are we that doesn't blink an eye, at the outrageous cost of some of these designer-toys, but we have a fit when it comes to dressing a female VP candidate?! Go Sarah!

Honestly, the Republican party represents the rich, 150,000 is nothing to a billionaire. I cringe when Republicans claim to represent the middle class - or even more ridiculous - the poor. They represent themselves. They gave the "simple" wing of the Republican party what they had to to get their votes. A pretty, "folksy" light weight with all the right religious credentials. Make no mistake, the majority of republican party doesn't give a damn about abortion, gay marriage or any other "value". That is the carrot they need to dangle to get that block to vote for them. We've had a republican president for 8 years, and they had control for 6 out of the 8 years in the house.... if they'd wanted to really go after those particular value issues, they would have. They pay lip service mostly.... and fund abstinence only programs which have been a dismal failure. Vote for Republicans if you are very wealthy - at least you are voting your own self interest. But if you care about value issues, don't vote Republican, vote Democrat. At least with Dems, they will actually try to pull up the bottom and help the middle. If we decrease poverty and desperation we actually make the world a better place for everyone and not just the very wealthy.

Er, ah "Nowforthetruth": In an earlier posting your exposition is that Palin is not a Socialist since she took money from the oil companies and redistributed it to Alaska citizens... It's not Socialism because "Alaska has no State taxes... It is not taking money from one person and giving it to another person."

So where did the oil companies get that money?

But I should fear Obama as a "Redistributor" and a "Socialist" because he wants to roll back a tax break for the rich that (before he sold out to the right wing) McC opposed and called 'irresponsible" because it benefitted "only the rich"?

Is your most recent reposting here directed to fears about "Socialism", or is it just innuendo, or are we trying to fold in a little racism too?

I've got an idea, since we have no more ideas, let's run our campaign on fear, smears and hypocrisy.

    Yeah, that's the ticket!

Keep talking "Nowforthetruth", you're really helping!

The prospect of a Palin in the white house is a scary one. After the Couric interviews, Palin is a bad joke. I'm sure she could spend the next few years boning up on all the issues so she wouldn't come across as a complete moron next time around, and she's telegenic and folksy and almost likable when she's not spewing hateful lies.. (tho her looks won't still be quite what they are today, come 8 years from now, she'd still be more physically attractive than most of our political figures, and I do not underestimate the often-poor reasons that sway my fellow American's votes.) I think Palin's far-right current stance would doom her national prospects...and I also think that Obama will change this nation's political discourse in a way that makes false and unfair claims, as repugnant to the electorate as a whole, as they are to me already. If Palin seriously educates herself in a deep way on this country's issues, and shifts her public position towards the center, she may be a real threat.in the future, given her viral popularity with some members of the GOP base. Best hope for this nation's future withOUT Palin, would be for her unethical actions to take her out of the game, either from this Troopergate thing or her next ethical 'lapse' brought to light or prosecuted... I put that word 'lapse' in quotes, because THIS IS HOW SHE ROLLS...she will hopefully get caught AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE at a few more of these, such as billing Alaska per diems for nights in her OWN HOME and billing Alaska for her kids' travel with faked-up rationales that don't stand up to scrutiny, and be even less credible as a candidate in the future. Palin is CORRUPT CORRUPT CORRUPT, as well as utterly unfit and unprepared for high office. She can prepare herself with knowledge...but her corrupt underpinning will still remain, and she'd be even WORSE than Bush when it came to abusing the highest office in the land. I hope that she goes down in flames in ethics investigations, never to run for national office again, for the good of the nation.

McCain and Palin want to pin a label on Obama to scare everyone. First off, the labels Marxist, Communist, Socialist and Liberal are all real stretches of their imagination that only reflect McCain???s and Palin???s desperation but more important, what we know for sure has failed and that should really scare us is ???more of the same???. We need to realize McCain and Palin simply don???t offer anything but more of the same. They talk of change but offer nothing specific, only empty rhetoric. What McCain does change is his position frequently. First he brags that he shares Bush???s philosophy and that he voted with Bush 90% of the time and in-between he says that he isn???t Bush, that Bush???s policies failed, that he is different and will provide change from Bush. We have actually seen him change multiple times almost each day as the economic crisis unfolded, always worried about political advantage instead of finding real answers. McCain is really not convincing as he is either unsure and tentative or impulsive and poorly thought out without any real answers and only criticizes Obama who in contrast does confidently present detailed plans. McCain vacillates between his need to convince his ???conservative??? base and trying to manipulate the voters with the most likely result being that he would just provide more of the same; the same Bush-Cheney style failed ???conservative??? policies that he has supported all along. We really can???t take more of the same, whatever you want to call it!

Bary. I am sooooo worried. What if that fat guy Murtha is right and rural America is full of rednecks? Then all your hard work will have been for nothing. I think I saw some rednecks outside of Harrisburg the other day. They were changing a tire by the side of the road. I saw that there was a woman in the back seat holding a baby. And the baby was crying. It must have been crying because it realized that it had been born a redneck. I mean what future does that baby have in our society? Poor thing. It was wailing and wailing. Later on I think I saw another redneck at the rest stop. That one gave me the creeps. He was wearing this hunting outfit and was chewing tobacco and he was really upset because his meth lab had blown up. Barry, what if Murtha is right?

Who were the Buddies Todd palin referred to that helped him build his home? Were they the same Buddies that Ted Stevens had? Many of the blogs say so. Does anyone know the verifiable truth?
