Once again, Alter, you show your incredible bias against anyone who is white and is voting for McCain. All of you at Newsweek, NBC and MSNBC don't even attempt to disguise your hatred for moderate Americans. In your worlds, ANYONE who votes for McCain is a racist. What idiotic conjecture. No surprise, though. Oh, and the I-4 corridor in Florida is not a hotbed of racism, it is a hotbed of FAMILIES. You and Keith Olbermann need to just get a room.
It's amazing how far left the media is. If John McCain wins, they already have written a story linking Obama's loss to racism. Is it that hard to believe that John McCain could get elected for his ideas and promises? Frankly I'm voting for McCain not because Obama is black, but rather because Obama is a socialist! America is a capitalistic democracy--socialism always fails and is dangerous. Obama is more dangerous than McCain and it's not because of his race!
So if we're going by your strict guidelines of the definition of Socialism, how is Palin not a Socialist when she brags that she gives every citizen of Alaska $2K (oil profits). Isn't she distributing the wealth, and oen of the reasons why she is so popular up there? Give me a break! It's great they love her so much because she's going back to them in a few weeks.
That program has been in place for years and is not a Palin creation. Moreover, it is not wealth distirbution since it gives to everyone equally. Life is not easy in Alaska and they unfortunately need to incentivize their citizens. However, things are a little different in the contiguous 48 -- you don't have to bribe someone to live in California. So rather, Obama is just going to "bribe" people to be poor: "you're poor? you're addicted to drugs? you never really worked hard and squandered the education given to you? well, here...let me take some money from someone who worked his ass off in middle school, high school, college (paid for by scholarship and not mommy and daddy) and i'll just give it to you." Obama's Socialism will reward the hard working by redistributing their hard-gotten gains to those who wouldn't know discipline from their next welfare check.
If Senator Obama were to lose, my first thought would be that the voting machines had been tampered with and the tabulations, fudged. But, that's only a thought.
He's high on the polls, so it would be very suspicious if he lost. I'm still not sure whether the current President really won the election, whether all the votes weren't counted correctly. For sure it's a bit of a concern when machines can be hacked, reprogammed, screen casting messed with, and that votes can be carried around in someone's car and not watched over by a neutral and trustworthy party.
Voting is so important... if our votes don't count, I'm not sure I want to vote.
Well you can sleep better tonight knowing that ACORN is on the job! They'll get out the vote for Obama, even if it's for dead people, because dead people have rights too, right?
He's going to need every illegal vote he can get!
And YOU can sleep better at night knowing that ACRON was already backed by McCain--you can see so yourself on video.
Also, they've been thoroughly investigated by the justice system. If you don't want to listen, you never will. Stay ignorant and good luck my friend.
Oh really? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122495396715269535.html
MCCAIN'S LAST DESPERATE PLEA
MCCAIN THINKS THAT THE ONLY REASON WE SHOULD VOTE FOR HIM is fear of one party rule. We should forget in this stroke of fear-mongering his ineptitude, temperament, anger, incompetence, wrong ideas for the time, bellicose attitude, Palin's unfitness to be President should anything happen to him, his mostly upper-crust concern for the rich, his strong alliance for the Bush policies that brought us into this economic mess, and more! He is dreaming in technicolor! What Democrats need is a strong mandate that will break the gridlock in Washington. Then they can implement a true agenda for change. Then as well, under a possible Obama Presidency, the United States can begin to rebuild its sullied image abroad under Bush. Say no to McCain!
Please just trace the money trail back. The financial crisis we are in is directly linked to the policies put in place initially by Pres. Jimmy Carter, then were super-sized by Pres. Bill Clinton. The republician tried to warn and get some changes in the regulation of the loans that Fanny and Freddy were forcing on banks, but the Democrats fought them every step of the way because they were in a incestual relationship with these corrupt institutions. The Dems buddies who were running Fanny and Freddy were lining thier pockets as well as giving hush money to the Dems to keep them in from regulation.
Only Republicans trace their present day troubles to presidents from 40 years ago. Why not go back further? Hell, maybe Lincoln had no business with the emancipation proclamation. The economy would be in great shape with good slave labor today right? {HEAVY SARCASM]
Our present troubles have more to do with who runs the IMF, the Federal Reserve, and the banking system in general. This is not a red/blue issue. But it doesn't matter, you've got your blinders on.
Just have to trace it back to the "New Deal", where all this Socilist junk was orignated in our country.

he is high in the polls because the silent majority hasnt spoken yet, just wait until Nov 4 and you will hear us speak throughout this great land
So you want us to fear the bogeyman? Lol, thanks for the threat. Some of us aren't as prone to paranoia as you are.
In Ohio, the democrats have been the ones who have not been registering to vote legally and you are afraid that if McCain wins there is voter fraud. Me thinks you better watch the democrats closely.
Too busy projecting, I guess to pay attention to the facts about ACORN activity
The polls are not always correct...they have not been reliable in predicting who the winner will be for a long time...Please, inform yourself so you don't get all carried away

Considering Obama's poll numbers and his ground operation, there is only logical reason that he would not win on Nov. 4th. That reason, is a rigged election through voter suppression and electronic vote flipping. Our election system has been broken since 2000 and little has been done to remedy it. Paper ballots and #2 pencils would be a start. Allowing anyone with a SS ID and picture I.D. with an address on it ought to be enough on election day.
You're so ignorant. Haven't you ever heard of the "silent majority"? If McCain wins it will be because republicans, although not loud mouthed and abrasive like their liberal counterparts, will be out in force on Nov. 4 and not because of rigged elections.
And you're silent, right? Hypocrite.
Unwad your panties
See Barney Franks comments on the news, including face the nation last week, stating that Democrats in Congress intend to greatly raise taxes and go on a spending spree.

And again what was Frank saying at roughly the time McCains attempt at S.190. in 2005 to fix Fannie and Freddie.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs
"These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis, the more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."
So which party is really is the liar that soaked the American people?

all these people should be charged with economic crimes against this counrty , they have brought this country to her knees and if they have their way they will destroy this great nation.
If McCain is elected i see our markets returning to some sense of normalacy, If obama is elected i see 4 years of the turmoil we have today. Why because the only people who will play Obamas games are welfare democrats, the rest will stay home and put their money away for a new sun shinier day. People with money have it because they earned it and saved it and are not about to let Obama get his hands on it
Plus moral crimes - they are a bunch of hyprocrites trying to scam the american people. They are anit-american
I'm so sick of liberal junk that characterizes everyone that votes for McCain as racist, or somehow otherwise ignorant. I'm a well educated person with many diverse friends. I live in NYC and frankly, I'm up to my neck in debt from school loans, I rent an over-priced apartment in manhattan and I don't think I should have to pay more taxes than the 40+% that I already pay. I therefore favor McCain on taxes. I also find Obama's absolute lack of foreign policy experience at minimum disheartening and most, a little frightening. I took courses in college from great political science professors, and although they are beyond brilliant, I'm not sure I'd want them as decision makers regarding issues of national security. For these reasons, I support McCain (even if it seems his chances of winning are low). Crap, I must be racist.
I think there are a lot more people out here who are for McCain than the media would like you to believe. (But maybe not for you in NYC. HAHA). These pols do not mean a thing, it is just what happens on election day that matter. VOTE McCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pray you are right.
It is no stretch of the truth to note that if John McCain's presidency is anything like his campaign, this nation is in for a rough 4 years. Four years that may even be worse than the last eight of Bush.
McCain has not had one new unique idea or given one uplifting view of where he hopes to take America in the 21st Century. McCain is a man stuck in the past, running a campaign on the great American shame and the world knows it.
If enough Americans are willing to go into the abyss just because an old white man is leading them there versus moving forward under the leadership of an intelligent, forward thinking, visionary, wise black man than we will get what we deserve both at home and abroad.
Baffled as to why so many are so vocal about a candidate they know nothing about, who has done nothing and somehow is capable of running the US. All I have been hearing is nothing but vagueness and of course the mantra "change." We don't know how little or how much nor how dramatic a change he proposes. While I believe in the American people, I'm still amazed that such a media-upped candidate could have gotten this far.
kool-aid
The people are lost, pathetic and looking for a saviour
Maybe the media-upped candidate has shown his class and his intelligence and hasn't had too many years imbedded in the dirty politics that have gone on before us. I hope he is gifted enough to not follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Carter (who is a great man but was not so great a president) but will lead us into a more compassionate country. The right wing of the Republican party keeps pushing their agenda which, to me, is very scary. I consider myself a Christian, but they are way out there. This country was founded on the belief that church and state should be separate--this cannot happen with them in power. We were also raised on religious tolerance, but that seems to have gone by the wayside during the last 8 years. We need to get back to the basics--budget our money, set our priorities, rise to the challenges facing us in the world. That's why people yearn for change, even with a person who has had only a small amount of experience in government--that may be the best thing about him.
With all due respect ma'am, please DO NOT BE FOOLED by the young, charismatic and eloquent speaker. You need to listen to what he actually says very carefully. Look at the big picture! Do really want a socialistic, free-spirited society where REASONABLE MORAL VALUES are considered out-of-touch? In other words ... are you and your family prepared for an EVERYTHING GOES society? Where Christian and other good religious traditions are thrown to the wayside. A society that ultimately removes God from all aspects of our life just for the sake of misguided tolerance and/or so-called progressive thinking.
With all due respect, Mr. Concerned Ctzn, if you run your household in a moral way then don't concern yourself with what the rest of the country is doing... just because you don't agree with other people's lifestyles does not make them wrong. Take care of your own family and your own home. Doesn't the bible say "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord"?
I respect Christian's beliefs but they are not my own.. and I take issue with conservatives or whatever you want to call yourselves trying to dictate the laws in this country to fall in line with your religious beliefs. I hope that at some point we can all agree to take a more loving and caring attitude towards each other without judging each other so severely. This country was founded so that people could find religious freedom, yet it seems more and more that if you are not a Christian then you must be immoral and evil.
Not immoral and evil just intolerant
The country was founded on Christian principles and alot of us would like to preserve the constitution and the values. Just because you do not agree with it doesn't mean we must change it. That is intolerance
With all due respect back at you; no-one is going to tell you where to practice your faith or that you will be unabele to practice your faith. That's just ridiculous. Wow. I can' believe what fear this campaign has stirred up. Unbelievable.
Sorry amaremlap, but the wool is not being pulled over my eyes. I've been on this planet way too long to be fooled by another sly fox. Gotta admit though... W fooled me once! No more! And Kid Fox is no different! Besides! What are you worried about? This election is FIXED anyway. The Dem Chosen One is set to be crowned. LOL!
Now, I know that McC is not perfect! But the bottom line is look at the alternative: SOCIALISM! Yikes! And I'm not even rich! I'm lucky if I qualify for Middle-Class! Nope sorry ... I make too much money as a single man per year. Yup! A whoppin' $33,000 per year!
Darn! So much for those Middle-Class tax breaks OB keeps touting! Please! Wake up America!!!
Maybe you should listen to what he says very carefully...or better yet, listen to McCain...depending on the day of the week, his stance changes, and his policies change just as quickly. I say to all of you who question Baracks' experience, research him for real, not based on FIX NEWS or Rush limberger. Read his books, read other books...he has experience, integrity, and yes he is eloquent and charming...why is that a negative? I am thinking I'd rather have a president that thinks before he speaks, and speaks clearly and with some level of intelligence...I'd rather have a president with some morals and honesty...Yes read Barack's book...he has not denied any of the things McCain accuses him of, which is why he doesn't defend them, it's already noted. Do you honestly think if the man wasn't qualified or a 'Citizen' he would have gotten this far? They might as well have lubed him up before they started, b/c he has been checked out...You say its not about race...if McCain were black...there is not way in hell he would even be in this race...NOT A CHANCE....and i think everyone knows it...And for the person that posted about black people only voting for him b/c he's black...NEGATIVE....i supported Hillary until she started with the back pedalling and stupidity...Am I happy to be around to possibly have the first black president...ofcouse...but I wouldn't rather have instead of a competent person...Hell I didn't vote for Joke Jesse Jackson and he was black...and most other black people didn't either...so please stop the nonsense...
Obviously if Obama doesn't win its because we're all racist sinners. Nice angle.
well I think you are leaving a couple of things out that would be a good discussion- like people who jumped on the Obama wagon because of his awesome speaking ability started adding up the words and then they started thinking (which is never good for a candidate) and the one promise he made that could be measured was on finance reform- he denied public money (which when you lie so close to an election it gets a bit dirty for those that actually are listening and adding things up)

Re: Nins Comment: "There hasn't been a Democrat majority in Washington since 1965, and before that, 1933. It looks like we are about to see another such event take place. By November 5, 2008 both houses of Congress and the Presidency will be in Democratic hands."

No worries Nins, the Dems got this election pretty much wrapped up. With all the voter fraud going on and the discreet rumor that the Electorate has been strong-armed and/or bought off, heck, the game was over B4 it started. Sheesh! Sad. Sad. Sad!
We're looking at the EXACT REVERSE SITU' of what happened in 2000. You remember folks! When W & Co. stole the W.H. from Gore. Yup! As we all know, Gore won the Pop-Vote fair & square, yet the Electoral College (EC) ultimately crowned W the winner. I'm not gonna lie, I voted for W the first time around---not second time though---but fair is fair. Gore got robbed! Well ... I guess it's payback time huh?
Moral of the story: APPARENTLY, IN THE DARK WORLD OF POLITICS, TWO WRONG DO MAKE A RIGHT.
PATHETIC!!!!
There's only one thing that can possible alter this FIXED ELECTION. Big number turnout (voters) for McCain/Palin! This is a direct call to all Conservatives, Traditionalist, Independents, Realist, Christians, etc, to vote in record numbers this year for the MAVERICK TEAM!
As a united front, we need to put extreme pressure on the EC so that they just can't dismiss the Popular Vote like they did in 2000. John McCain needs every moderate and conservative vote out there in order to pull off an upset over this RIGGED ELECTION!
JOHN MC CAIN / SARAH PALIN '08!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
It is not fraud to win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote. you do not understand the way the electorate works..
I believe that Obama needs to paint the picture of what it would be like with McCain & Palin winning the white house. It will be another 4 years of devestation. We can only hope that the younger voters turn out in droves, but this is doubtful basing it on past elections. White older voters will find it difficult to vote for a black president. Minorities need to turn out in droves as well, however the republicans are already instituting steps of voter supression in allot of key states. Democrats should be scared, as we have seen what has happened in the past. All we can do is hope that these two groups turn out in record numbers and deny the republicans another 4 years of devastation to our country.
you are an idiot, why vote for Obama? He is younger than you. Why not McCain, he is older. Thanks Mr. Boomer.
More koolaid....?

"'She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone,' said this McCain adviser. 'She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.'"
Yeah, that'll make a great president one day.
Sounds like the makings of a future dictator.
