    Hey mickeyj

Every black person who votes for a black candidate is not racist, and every white person who votes for a white candidate is not racist. The statistics are, that in 1988 and 1992, blacks voted 92% for Clinton. Before then, EVERY presidential candidate that blacks voted for were WHITE. I don't think that makes them any more racist than the fact that before Obama EVERY white who voted for a presidential candidate was white.

If John McCain wins, it will be because he got the necessary votes from people across America who believe he is the right man for President, not because he is white. You might also start focusing on racism in the black community rather than focusing on the white community. Those of us who vote for McCain are being demonized because the black voters want the world to believe that we are voting for our candidate simply because he is white. When in effect, almost 100% of black voters plan to vote for Obama because he is black. It has been proven that the majority of lower income black voters don't even know what Obama's platform is and don't actually care. So racism is running rampant on the Obama side, but of course the liberal media won't dare report on that fact. What a shame...

95% of double A's are voting for Obama. Now that's racist.

  • Posted By: carlb99 @ 10/26/2008 3:47:37 PM

Historically, roughly 90% of blacks always vote democratic. That they would do so with a Black candidate for President shouldn't really be a surprise. Calling it racist or evenly completely biased is ahistorical. Now, if 90% of Blacks were voting for a conservative Black republican like Allen Keyes, that would clearly be noteworthy. As it stands, however, black enthusiasm for Obama is about as strong as core Democratic enthusiasm for Obama. If anything, many, many more blacks will vote than usual. So, the story on black turnout will be the real difference in the election.

I'm encouraged by the loud conservative voice I'm hearing in this thread today. Maybe the paid lib bloggers are taking a nap. As far as the polls go, my wife is an Independent and she gets mail from Obama every day. My daughter is 18, just registered in highschool, and she gets pollsters calling her. I'm pretty sure she registered Democrat. I'm registered Republican and no one calls me. Hmmmmmm. Doesn't matter, Indiana allows early voting and I've already cast it for my man McCain and my gal Palin!

Bravo to TheVail. I too have two children of draft age. Although no one seems to talk about it, the McCain strategy would inevitably lead to more demand for miltary personnel that we do not currently have. The pentagon has made clear that its personnel are overstretched and overused. The only practical answer is conscription. But few voters have taken the time to think it through. McCain is confident that none of his kids would ever be forced to serve in any war he might choose to continue or start. But what about the averaghe powerless citizens?

    • Posted By: dumpthedems @ 10/26/2008 3:47:03 PM

Where the hell have you been??? McCain has two sons serving in the millitary. They both volunteered.

Race ? Here we go again. Ok , so if Obama wins and fails as a President do we( the public) get to say something about it or our we (the public) going to be called racist for pointing this out. What a web you've woven oh liberal. The liberal elites appetite for power is so great that has placed a burden so great upon someone like Obama (and he bought into it) that the bar has been set so high he can only fail and when this happens the elite will flee in mass. I pity Obama for he is blinded by the by the same thing he fights POWWR.

I like to believe that the American people recognize the left wing liberal press for what it is, and be guided by common sense. I haven't believed what I have seen or read in the media for a very long time. Unfortunately, if you want to follow any news you have to put up with the liberal media and use common sense to determine the real truth. Anyone with a College or University education can recall at least one (or in my case several) liberal professors. It should be no surprise that the majority of the writers , including those who write for the media, are liberal. We have been listening and reading about their hopeful dream of Obama winning this election. Does not make it so. I myself am a mathematician and know how easy it is to skew a poll. Its all in how the questions are formulated and asked. I'll wait for the actual election results. Its liklier that McCain will win than Mr. Alter would like, and his discomfort with that fact shows in the article.

I really recent the inuation that if a perosn votes for mccain they must bea racist...believe it or not some Americans do look at the issues and some still vote for a canidate because on th eissues and on the canidates values...those who rreport such rhetoric and those who suggest such nonsence are the racists.....Liberals from day one wanted to turn this into a race issue and never mind about the real issues..just throw any ol thing out there and then call those who vote for Mccain racists that should win us this election they say. Unfortunatly their backdoor tactics may be working jjust like Obamas back door tactics gor him into the congress by playing real dirty...this time he actually had to run against someone..he is not the only one on the ballot so since he can not find a way to be the only one on the ballot this time he is running with the race card which has proven effective 9 x out of 10..heck it worked for OJ......so with that said let me say yea I am a white female and yes I am voting for Mccain on the issues..If Condy Rice was running on the republican ticket with the same issues as Mccain I would be voting for her. So please lets stick to the issues lets stop playing black jack .....it's really getting old and lets vote for who we think has the most experience, has the most knowledge and has a proven tract record..........

How ignorant of you to suggest that the only reason a Democrat may vote republican would be because of Obama's skin color or that they are "low information". You have resorted to childish reactions. I, for one, am educated enough that I don't have to read Newsweek which has distorted views, or should I say opinions. Your article proves you are incapable of reporting the facts, you must sleep a lot and have these "crazy" dreams which you write for Newsweek or else you have drank way too much Obama Kool-aid.

Obama, is to keep General Powell as an advisor, If elected and wants to re-start the draft. Perhaps its
time since enlistment is at an all time low. He also wants to send troops to Afghanistan but take them out of Iraq. I sure will be glad when all this is over lol.

"Why are some Democrats worried that Mr. Obama may not necessarily be headed to the White House?
For starters, the American people like to have checks and balances. With predictions that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will grow their liberal power bases in the House and the Senate, more Americans than reflected in various polls may decide to apply the brakes to an Obama presidency.
And I know you???ve heard this before, experience does matter. Joe Biden may have inadvertently made that case for John McCain when he recently said that the world will test Barack Obama in six months. ???The world is looking,??? he said. ???Watch, we???re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.??? I feel the American People should not have to go through this again.

People will always use some type of excuse to not vote a black person into presidency. You can definitely tell this when no one besides Powell who is black spoke out against the slander towards muslim, and we are to expect that you guys would vote for a black president? Please, republicans parties are nothing more than KKK outings without a hood.

    • Posted By: max in fl @ 10/26/2008 3:45:19 PM

      babybro

I want Barack to win, but comparing republicans to KKK is over the top. Leave the ugly smears to the republican party. There are a lot of good republicans out there. Let's face it, even if Barack is elected we will need the republicans to get on board and get things done. Especially if we don't hit the magic 60 seats.

It is regretable that the republicans want to paint Barack as unamerican to scare people, but we all know that is the republican way. It worked twice for Bush so McCain wants to try. McCain's robo calls however is a waste of money considering he tried it with Bush and it didn't work.

Let's keep on eye on Nathan Sproul because anyone the RNC gave over EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS too DID SOMETHING. Now McCain hired him so we HAVE to be on our TOES.

  • Posted By: jacobky @ 10/26/2008 3:29:36 PM

What a purely repulsive article---suggesting that the only way for a competent American hero, John McCain, can be elected President of our country is if voters are racist enough to vote for him instead of an African-American.
Shame on this reputable news organization for printing filth such as this article. If Senator McCain wins, it will be because voters rejected Obama's egotism, his outlandish government policies, and his inexperience...not because they rejected his skin color.

    • Posted By: rigorous honesty @ 10/26/2008 3:45:16 PM

In fact, if Mr Obama does win, it will be due to WHITE GUILT compelling idealistic white liberals to make him the most powerful man on the planet because of his skin color; along with blaces who would support Satan himself if he were black. ANd while not "politically correct" this is the TRUTH all the same!! And that's the way it is folks--like it or not!!! Comment

  • Posted By: mickeyj @ 10/26/2008 3:42:27 PM

Will an Obama supporter please explain to me how everyone who votes for McCain is a racist? Also, explain how blacks aren't racists when they support the black candidate by a 95-5% margin.

  • Posted By: texnewmex @ 10/26/2008 3:40:58 PM

    wgoin,

Typical that you make an assumption that he hates blacks simply because he chooses to vote for McCain. You may be white, but you are the ignorant one by refusing to accept all of the less than stellar associations that Obama has with leftist radicals. Facts are facts...nothing is being made up. People like you don't want to see the truth about this man and so use the sad excuse that if someone disagrees with how you plan to vote, you label them a racist.

  • Posted By: McCainforchange2008 @ 10/26/2008 3:40:46 PM

Underground Sanity: Don't start trying to bring up fear of the draft and tie that into McCain's policies somehow. Didn't you hear Obama wants to go into Pakistan? I am more fearful of other countries drawing the U.S. into a conflict if Obama is elected. The enemies of our country see him as weak, as a pacifist and protectionist that will bend easy when challenged.

And again, Obama's race and ethnicity are not the problem for the majority of McCain supporters. It's his views and where he will take this country that we are afraid of. McCain is not going to diminish anyone's civil rights, rather, it is Obama who will surely diminish everyone's constitutional rights!

    texan to da bone,

trickle-up economics works. it's trickle-down that doesn't. i think you need to research it further. if trickle-down is so bad, why is it that Democratic administrations generally have better economies with a higher job growth rate.

    • Posted By: IBZee @ 10/26/2008 10:48:51 AM

Let's see , which came first, the chicken or the egg?..... Can you point to a fact how "trickle up " economics work? Have you ever owned a business,? Now don't lie !!! What businessman has been able or wants to stay in business when he cannot make a profit. Who would work 12-16 hour days to start or keep a business going to pay the person who sweeps the floor the same amount of money he earns. Who would strive to improve himself if the uneducated goofball that packs a product makes the same pay that a highley educated, skilled person does. Think about it.

      • Posted By: rdunton @ 10/26/2008 3:39:50 PM

I will not lie. I have not owned a business but I am 34 years old and have observed that trickle-up economic policies work more effectively.

I know this is oversimplified, but here is my view of the two economic systems:

Trickle-down economics would only work if people were altruistic, but because of GREED it does not work. Giving money to the rich doesn't create jobs. It just allows the rich to get richer. The only time they create jobs is if there business is doing so well that they need additional workers. Otherwise, they hoard the money, invest it in the risky stock market, or save money in an overseas bank account. If it does trickle down, it trickles so slowly it can't be observed. With less jobs being created, their is less money for consumers to spend. With less money to spend, the businesses don't have demand for their products.

If you have trickle-up or bubble-up economics, the poor and middle class have more money to spend. They can pay their bills, thereby alleviating the major financial crisis that we are going through. With their discretionary income, they can buy things that they need or want. The merchandise purchased is from businesses who then have MORE demand for their merchandise. Because of the INCREASED demand for their merchandise, the businesses have MORE money to hire additional workers. MORE jobs are created and the cycle continues.

In addition, historically Democratic administrations have been much better at creating jobs.

This should actually be titled, the only reason he loses is because he black. Why do you in the media think race is important? The media are the only ones playing this up. I am part of the "white" group. I resent that I have no brain and the forced "white guilt" you are trying to push. Obama is lacking because we are in a muliple front war, near one with Russia, possibly Iran. I don't like McCain social politics, and I am pro choice, so Palin's attitude pissed me off too. However, as our fighting men and women are in harms way, I don't want someone who his own VP nominee says will be challenged in foreign affairs. GET OFF THE RACE ISSUE and look to real reasons why McCain is lesser of the two evils that we are being forced to choose from. In 2010 vote all of them out. In 2012, vote all of them out again and find a good independent as president. It is too late now.

And in case you didn't notice: Civilian Polls have consistantly demonstrated that whites are roughly evenly divided between Mr McCain and Mr Obama

Polls have consistantly demonstrated that roughly 90% of blacks support Mr Obama

NOW TELL ME WHO THE RACISTS ARE!!!

And before one of the paid democratic "spin" artist attempts to mislead you by claiming this is just because blacks are always liberal, (or poor, or some other excuse),

      Consider carefuly the following

      LET US NEVER FORGET
DESPITE A LIFETIME OF LIBERAL SERVICE
A NEW FACE APPEARED ON THE SCENE
AND THE BLACKS TOOK THE CROWN FROM THE CLINTONS
      AND MADE OBAMA THE KING!!!!!

That's right, does anyone believe that anything other than race resulted in the black voters making a senator wth 22 months experience the Democratic candidate over Ms Clinton, who is perhaps one of the most prepared liberal candidates to ever seek the presidency?? If you have any doubts, just listen to Howard Stern's broadcast--- http://www.bpmdeejays.com/upload/hs_sal_in_Harlem_100108.mp3

Not voting for Palin makes you intelligent, since she is so incompetent.

So to answer your question, read the above.

      • Posted By: WHY9999999 @ 10/26/2008 2:50:14 PM

Highly uneducated comment my friend. Sarah Palin is highly intellegent and has been misrepresented by the media and underutilized by the McCain campaign. You should really educate yourself about Sarah Palin and about why everyone is attacking her. She is the person I trust to keep McCain in check, she'll side with whoever is right regardless of their political party and she'd be the one who would blow the whistle on her own boss if he crossed the line. Why don't you educate yourself before you make such an ignorant comment.

        • Posted By: stone5150 @ 10/26/2008 3:01:00 PM

Palin is highly intelligent?! Compared to what? Slime mold, retarded mice?

Their are hundreds of well qualified woman for that post, Palin is by far not one of them.

          • Posted By: WHY9999999 @ 10/26/2008 3:06:41 PM

As I stated, educate yourself. I know what she's done and I know what she's capable of. You've obviously been reading a lot of what the media would like you to know about her.

            • Posted By: stone5150 @ 10/26/2008 3:13:28 PM

I have looked into her past thoroughly, an average college student, a hypocritical hardcore religious nut who got pregnant out of wedlock as did her kid , a member of a fringe religious cult, a supporter of an anti-American secessionist group, a below average public servant who misused her measly powers in small time political offices to further her friends and punish her enemies, a wanna-be book burner ....afacist,

              • Posted By: WHY9999999 @ 10/26/2008 3:38:55 PM

well that is what the liberal media would like you to believe. Good to know they gotcha ya. Sarah Palin was an excellent Mayor and an even better Govenor. She may have gotten pregnant out of wedlock, but I don't see that as a problem even if that is true. Everything else is fabricated stories made up by the Alaskan Republican Party because they are still angry that she sent their cronnies to Federal jail in Oregon. You just wait and see, Sarah Palin ends up in the White House and Levenworth will have a line of corrupt politicians waiting for bedspace. Rebuplican and Democrat. That is a fact. The media in Alaska has been the most critical of Sarah Pallin and Alaskan's still love her. There is a reason, she has prinicpals and COMMON SENSE. It would serve you well to get some yourself.

I am so disgusted with mainstream media that I stopped taking the papers and listening to those TV stations. Why can't they bring up topics more relevant and with less hype than the stinking racecard. How about proof of where Obama was really born? So far he's failed to produce an official, untampered with birth certificate. He's only produced a certificate of live birth which is not the same....and anyone can put a birth announcement in a paper, but that doesn't make it official! Can't believe this isn't being resolved before the election! What does he and mainstream media have to hide? This is one of the reasons I'm not voting for Obama....he's not forthright and seems to be hiding things in the way he phrases his answers to questions. Besides, he has less experience than Sara Palin and he has no moral value with regard to what is "life".
