    Wow! These terrible posts just prove the existence of Low Information Voters. The conservatives use the word "Socialist" like the words "***," or "***." Its intended to hurt and arouse hate. (How compassionate.)

    Business should get all the perks. Privatize the profits, but Socialize the losses.

    Hey Dummies! Do you really think the well to do, creepy religious conservative really care about you? They are smart enough to get you vote against your best interests. Grow up. Change is coming in America.

    All these old attitudes are going to die. Get used to it.

    Reality has a liberal bias.

    Why would people vote for McCain? Because logic should should win out over emotion. Obama has the Charisma, but he will destroy this country from an economic standpoint. Any scholar of Economics knows that Social engineering has been tried and has failed over and over agian. Every social engineered country has battled ultra high unemployment and ultra low economic growth over the long haul. America, despite it's flaws, is still the strongest and most consistent ecomomy in the world. That's becuase it allows it's people to be great, and contribute. It doesn't hold it back like so many other countries with high taxes and endless social programs designed to help the lower class, but which ultimately harm them by taking away their jobs. American unemployment is still among the lowest in the world. We need to remember this. Barack Obama is not and never will be right for this country. McCain, while not the ideal candidate, is still the best choice. We need to vote based on science and logic. Emotions run high, but successfull decisions are not based on emotion. I urge anyone thinking about voting for Obama, to read up on Economics and how economies work, Talking points dont count. On the surface, the last eight years may seem like economic disaster, but remember what this country has been through. Two wars, a tech bubble that burst (under clinton in 2000), the housing bubble, Katrina, Terrorist attacks and this financial crisis. We held it together pretty well under the circumstances. A barack obama plan of raised taxes and welfare, would have absolutely killed this economy. You can't grow an economy by taking from the producers and giving to the non producers. Sounds harsh but it's fundamental economics. (Again, logic over emotion) Every student of economics is taught this in year one.

    • Posted By: mcf304 @ 10/26/2008 12:48:48 PM

      A certain Nobel prize winner in economics would disagree with you as would many other economists. And apparently you haven't really looked at Obama's plan. You're just regurgitating GOP jargon. However, since you're obviously omniscient, I will throw away my desire for better education, health care, clean energy, and a leader who represents this country in a way that doesn't make the US a secret pariah in the world; and just go ahead and vote for a guy that won't do any of that. Oh shucks, I already voted absentee for Obama. Oh and you're absolutely right: anyone who makes less than $200,000 a year is absolutely a dead weight in society and should be taxed more for being so nonproductive.

      Okay...shedding sarcastic tone. When are GOP drones going to realize that taxing the middle class less is not socialism? Bush was doing a similar thing except he was taxing the rich and big corporations less, and this is essentially what McCain plans to do, so...how is that more fair? It's still redistributing wealth--but to the people who are already super rich. Do you people actually read anything that isn't published by the GOP?

      To JustMeo8: The reason the media doesn't attack Obama the way they attack McCain is because Obama isn't an idiot like McCain. He isn't lying nearly as much as McCain. He has run his campaign with FAR more honor, and all of the attacks that McCain throws at Obama are found to be false by fact checkers. To conclude, give up. Everyone who is still inserting "Hussein" into mentions of him as if that makes him unqualified or dangerous needs to give up. All of you who cry "socialist" need to give up. You just sound desperate and stupid. You guys are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at this guy but they're so obviously lies that it's time for you to give up.

    And to add to what "decorator" just said: BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA" has 18 letters in his name; 18=3x6 which is 3 groups of 6........."666." I don't wat to alarm anybody, but I just don't like what I see in him at all; empty promises, good oratory, lack of experince, and on top of it a clear reference to the guy that carries the "666" sign in the Good Book.

    • Posted By: LilBella @ 10/26/2008 12:48:34 PM

      Clearly you have WAY too much time on your hands to come up with this amazing CRAP!

    • Posted By: MinorThreat @ 10/26/2008 12:47:42 PM

      This makes no sense. If you are a Christian (total assumption) than your number one goal is to go to heaven, Paul said we are but aliens, our true home is with the father. Now if Obama is the anti Christ than that would mean the rapture is close at hand. And this my friend means you will get to Heaven much sooner. In summary
      Obama = Rapture and Heaven
      McCain = more hell on earth

    Re: decorator's comments. The talking points and agenda driven anger about pro-life issues and related...well, first, I was trying to understand what sort of experience Palin actually has, other than two not so wonderful years as governor of a small population, a stint as mayor of a very, very small town, where her record was equally questionable. The Acorn bit is a straw man, easily debunked with a little actual research. Tiresome, really. Just wondering who would be wearing Palin's $150.000 worth of Nieman Marcus outfits in the charity bin....Where, by the way, is Obama's money coming from? You don't say specifically. Oddly, it is in small amounts from thousands of average people, of all political stripes, who have had enough and would like real change. Ummm...Gaf Biden: I assume you mean gaffe...as in error? Like in verbal? Like Palin's 180 degree different view of Michigan et al? Your statement about Obama lying...what specifically are you referring to? Without specifics, this becomes an ad hominem mudfest. Colin Powell, certainly no pansy as far as national security goes, is completely confident in Obama. Wait, Powell was Bush's point man for the same thing...does that mean the safety you referred to post-911 is independent of Powell's efforts?...who, nevertheless, even as a stalwart Republican, favors Obama? By the way, McCain's only military credentials are that he was a pilot, briefly, who got shot out of the sky, and then after repatriation, worked for felon Kemper Marley, then as a politician funded by same....
    'Please, if you are going to rant, be specific, and do some research other than op-ed pieces from Coulter.

    the author's ignorance is unbelievable. Apparently, if anyone doesn't vote for Obama it is becaue of race. This ignores reality. Reality is that Obama is exceptinally liberal on the issues, which most American's are not. If Obama was right on the issues I would vote for him. He is not, so I will not. The author is just another member of the Obama press cheer squad.

  • Posted By: handysam @ 10/26/2008 12:47:21 PM

    I believe that the terms should be "Americans who are white, brown, yellow or pink or blue."
    Not black or white or yellow or brown Americans. Anyone who puts their race before being an american is a rascist, including the author.

  • Posted By: seeifimnotright @ 10/26/2008 11:04:02 AM

    I can't believe the author would ignore the elephant in the room. Voter suppression is going to be the big story of this election. Fox News has gone all ACORN all the time and this morning was carrying on about how long voters have to wait in line to vote early.

    Shrewd strategy: Have your propaganda arm discourage all those newly registered voters and herd them toward election day, where crooked GOP election office thugs can make them cast hundreds of thousands of provisional ballots that'll never be counted.

    It's the same old Atwater/Gingrich jiu jitsu: Accuse your opponent of the outrage that you're actually committing.

    • Posted By: donewithdems @ 10/26/2008 12:46:56 PM

      Gee, seeifimnotright, how long have you been living in la-la land?

    • Posted By: billysid57 @ 10/26/2008 11:08:21 AM

      Unless your opponent is actually ACORN doing those things, then by all means. The majority of Americans know what ACORN has done. Not a secret here.

      • Posted By: seeifimnotright @ 10/26/2008 11:17:50 AM

        I've been offering the Faux News Fools I know a simple bet: I'll pay you $100 for every cartoon character whose vote is counted on election day if you give me a dime for every legitimate voter whose provisional ballot get thrown out. So far no takers.

    • Posted By: billysid57 @ 10/26/2008 11:10:15 AM

      I'll agree with you about Fox though, they're as bad as MSMBC - just on the other end of the spectrum.

  • Posted By: seeifimnotright @ 10/26/2008 12:46:53 PM

    Reading some of the comments below I had an epiphany: There are really two Republican parties. The Conservatives and the Fascists.

    The conservatives are the Goldwater/Buckley/Will people, the ones with some actual brains, the ones who are holding their noses over Caribou Barbie and Joe the Phony-@ss Plumber and defecting to Obama. The fascists are the Faux News Fools, the racists, gun nuts and other sputtering illiterates who pay Bill O'Reilly's bar tab and keep Rush Limbaugh's oxycontin cabinet full.

    The party's going to get killed on election night. I was wrong. Not even rampant vote stealing can unrig this landslide.

    The 25 percent of deluded simpletons who think Bush is doing a good job won't go away though. They're all over this thread. Palin will be back in four years at the top of the ticket working the same old fear-and-smear, corraling the moouth-breathing anti-immigration herd with rank racism and tales of the Apocalypse.

    I can hardly wait. Bring it on.

    To those on this site that say the only reason Obama could lose is either voter racism, voter stupidity or voter fraud by the evil Republican party I say DEFINITELY those are the only ways Obama could lose

    And I add a fourth evil possibility which is a Republican orchestrated terrorist attack which the evil Republicans mioght God forbid perpetrate

    This article says Ohio and Florida are both lost already to which I attribute Republican fixed fraudulent elections

    REMEMBER who is was who flew the Bid Ladens our of America immediately following 9/11

    Remember who is was the Bid Laden family visited in the White House

    Remember who it was who invaded Iraq instead of Afghanistan where Bid Laden actually was after 9/11

    Remember who it was who hired the mercenaries Haliburton and allowed them to "lose" billions of dollars in the Iraq dessert (as if) and then relocate to the middle east

    All of these things were done AND HUSHED UP by the Republican team Bush / Cheney

    Bush / Cheney have destroyed America and half of the world

    This article is just more undermining by the Republican party -- ALL MEDIA is now pro-McCain / Palin and getting more so daily -- obviously the Republicans control everything and all media outlets

    We are barely America any more and electing McCain / Palin will certainly finigh the job for us -- the media is no longer free on any level and these two will ensure that we'll lose the rest of our freedoms

    WHY WOULD ANY DECENT FREEDOM LOVING AMERICAN VOTE FOR THE EVIL THAT IS McCAIN / PALIN?

    Any decent thinking person would vote Obama

    This election has made me realize how (1) evil and / or (2) flat out stupid Republicans actually are.

    The actual terrorist is Palin and McCain is either too stupid or too confused or too selfishly believing he is entitled to the Presidency to care

    GOD BLESS AMERICA VOTE OBAMA / BIDEN '08

    By the way, I am a Hillary supporter. I told everyone I'll support Obama except on the election day. I'll vote 100% against Obama and 80% support of Palin for her remarkable life experience (she is more ready than the other three on the ticket to be president), and 70% McCain for his integrity (he is THE man who only does what's right, unlike Obama who only does thing to win the vote and election).

    • Posted By: LilBella @ 10/26/2008 12:45:17 PM

      I'm a Hillary supporter too which is why I'm taking her advice. Having said that, I thankfully don't need it since I have a mind of my own and intelligence which allows me to research and review what's going on in out country and can only hope that there are enough people like me to understand that we need someone with a level head, immense intelligence and is willing to take advice from other intelligent people and weighing the options before making a critical decision for our country. Yes, Senator McCain is a war hero and has also served our country but has fallen from grace as far as temperment and having our country's best interests in mind. In his mind, only HE is right...about everything. Please take a few steps back if you dare question that or get ready for the expletives that spew from his mouth when challenged or questioned. Much like his brother Joe (no, not Joe the Plumber-Joe the Brother McCain) who told a 911 operator to F off when he called them the other day to complain about a 15 minute traffic jam! No thank you!!!!! And I don't even have the room to add what I feel about Sarah Palin. Such a sham and such a shame for the Republican party. Lincoln would surely be ashamed! Obama/Biden!!!!!

    Look at the newsstory headlines just below this self-effacing article. You liberal insatiates absolutely refuse to admit that the entire liberal media has completely abandoned any form of ethics in non-biased reporting. Every other article on any given news website (media format) is a negative attack on the Republican candidates.

        Hell of a lot more fair and balanced than NBC, CNN, MSNBC or the Washington Post or NY York Times. Regardless, they should all do their jobs and report the news fair and unbiased. They should have more respect for the American people but apparently they don't feel we are smart enough to make our own, unbiased decisions.

    Consider this before you vote. About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at
    the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

    ??? A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to lose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world???s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
    2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
    3. from courage to liberty;
    4. from liberty to abundance;
    5. from abundance to complacency;
    6. from complacency to apathy;
    7. from apathy to dependence;
    8. from dependence back into bondage.

    Matthew 19: 21-24
    21 Jesus said to him, ???If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.??? 22 When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
    23 And Jesus said to his disciples, ???Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.???

    • Posted By: sandikd @ 10/26/2008 12:41:08 PM

      Your biblical recitation is right on, however, where in the bible does it say that the government is supposed to perform the function of which you refer? It is the responsibility of man to tithe and provide for the poor. The bible speaks of free will, remember? That is the choice man makes. It is tyrany to impose ones will on another. The direction of democrats are fast approaching that state for our country, and the media is complicit in aiding them in doing it.

    Clever article disguised as news intended to guilt white Americans into voting for Obama so as not to brand our nation as racist. Some of use actually look at the facts, record, and our paychecks before going to the polls. The only color that matters in this election is green, and I'm not talking about global warming.

  • Posted By: aubschnak @ 10/26/2008 12:40:35 PM

    I think that Obama is using his race like a crutch, to give him an excuse if he fails. If he does fail, it won't be because of that. I live in Virginia and have talked to very few people who feel that a black president is a bad idea. It's his inexperience and pipe dream promises that people don't like, and that a lot of his policy proposals sound like something from a socialist country.

  • Posted By: cindyjenkins2222 @ 10/26/2008 12:40:16 PM

    If McCain loses. make sure you do a story about how black racists won it for Obama. The democrates usually get about 90 percent of the black vote, so when it is 96 percent this year, make sure you do a story about how the african americans who only voted for Obama because he is black is the reason that he is president. Make sure you remark on the cynicism of that. If McCain wins, it doesn't mean it was racism. The polls could be wrong because of white guilt-whites that are saying they are voting for Obama because they don't want to be called racisists by people like the author of this article, but who SUPPORT MCCAIN ON THE ISSUES!!!!

  • Posted By: DaveWK @ 10/26/2008 12:39:21 PM

    Your scenario assumes the Obama campaign isn't on its game in Ohio and Florida, and it is. Further, Obama can lose those states and still win, as he's surging in Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, and elsewhere. The trend you project is opposite what's happening. Today the NBC pollsters moved Virginia and Colorado into the trending Obama category. Your scenario also holds the cynical view that the vote will be determined by ignorance and prejudice. Let's hope you're wrong, and that enough voters have been paying attention enough to understand that Obama is the "steady hand on the tiller" we need.

  • Posted By: ChefGeorge @ 10/26/2008 12:39:07 PM

    I resent the implied comments that just because I'm white & don't vote for Mr. Obama ,means I'm a racist. Maybe we don't think he's ready to lead after just 2 years in the Senate & no track record of the change he is always talking about. It's leftist idiots like this author who feed the fires of racism, always keeping it in play when we should be judging the candidates on merit. I'm a republican. I will vote for Mr. McCain because I think he would be an effective leader in these troubled times, not because he's white.
