My fingers do not move as fast as my thoughts. Have you ever mispelled anything? Bite me!

It is interesting that the final analysis seems to come down to the American propensity for "breast-beating" and the proposition that we should vote for Obama "because he is a black man" rather than an assessment of frank differences in policy. Perhaps not everyone is prepared to tread more precipitously down the path to socialism?

Why is that when whites vote for McCain they are considered racist by the media, but then nothing is said about the 99% of blacks who vote for Obama? Could it be that they are the ones who are basing their choice on race? Why is it not possible that a person can vote for McCain over Obama, because they agree more with his policies, idealogies, character and experience?

I've never read a more biased article. Does the author work for the Obama campaign? Sure sounds like it. Not only that ,he played the race card in his rediculous argument., something the Obama campagin has been doing for months to try to guilt white voters into voting for him. I don't care if he's black. His policies are bad for America and combined with a democratic congress with the WORST speaker of the house in history there's no end to the wrong they will do. I'm convinced that liberals in this country can't think their way out of a paper sack.

Every time I read an article on CNN or MSNBC or in my local papers, I am appalled anew over the partisanly-orded headlines, slanted articles, and selectively-edited interviews and speeches that make the speakers sound like they said something oother than what they meant. What the heck happened to unbiased reporting of the news? News outlets directing a race are no different than a ref who throws calls in favor of one team so that they win. They are both immoral and inaapropriate! Don't tell me who I should vote for - just give me the FACTS and let me decide! That's what the Founding Fathers had in mind!

I forgot to add to my earlier post, we are not blessed with outstanding candidates from either party!

I disagree with the author's basic premise, however flowery he puts it. He essentially says: "You are rascist, stupid, or ignorant" if you do not vote for the One. I am none of these. Like the majority of Americans -- who will vote for McCain -- I am more disaffected by the Press and pundits annointment of Obama than I am with his leftist policies. Like many Americans on election day -- I'll vote against the establishment, not with it.

Sorry to say it but the I-4 corridor is where the racist bumpkins live in Florida. I swear, if God turned out to be black they'd all become atheists.

I don't know a single person who is voting against Obama by voting for McCain. They are voting FOR McCain because he is tried, true and ready to lead..

Although I trust neither candidate implicitly, I do not like the socialistic sounds of Mr. Obama's tax plans, his mandated health plan, or the way that he gives most questions either a "brush-off" or an answer that leaves only more questions, But what I find most disheartening is his supporters telling me that I am stupid and(or) racist if I don't support him without even knowing me.

This article scared the crap out of me... What if john mccain does win?... This would be a bitter sweet victory for many of us republicans who in 2000 voted for George Bush and then looked at ourselves in the mirror tearfully saying "I'm gonna regret this" And indeed, we did regret it and it's something that haunts me to this day. I think it's time we put politics, race and hidden agendas aside and help to elect Borack Obama and the democrats which is best for the economy and health care and yes, NATIONAL SECURITY!

Why does everything have to come to race. It could be that many more people are looking past the well speaking individual and well written words of someone else and realizes that the media has made him a dariling of the people. If Oparh hadn't back him like she did, he would be nowhere.

This brings up even a worst thought that Americans cannot think for themselves but talk show host think for too many. The only person that really has made me rethink what to do on election day is Colon Powell. It worries me though that he might looking for a job in an adminisration rather than backing someone he really belives in.

jethro706 - If you could write and spell correctly you might have gotten your point across. McCain has presented himself as a reformer but comes across as an angry old men. His senility and Palin's corruption and limited intelligence have put the Republicans in a position that isn't winnable.

I reside in the I-4 corridor in Florida, I am a senior female, and I support Obama. I am a native Floridian, and I can tell you from my personal observations, that Barack's race is the real factor people won't vote for him. I am a poll watcher, and have observed the white voters sneer at and look condescendingly at the black and hispancis. As a group of young black voters discussed how to vote while waiting in line, one young man told the other to just vote for all the democrats. The whitel elderly man behind them was heard to call them ignorant. He was the type of racist voter we see so much. Bet he voted straight Republican, and has for years. Those people would vote against their own self-interests and against their children's future just to vote against a black. McCain's racist ads in Florida have heated those people up to the point where it is scary now, to put a sign on your vehicle or in your yard. What will happen if Obama loses? Half of this country will not come together with the other half. We are tired of the politics of abortion and choice, of the hatespeak, and of the self-termed Christians to threaten those of us Christians who don't agree with them. The God I worship teaches us to love our neighbors, as His second greatest commandment.

Even my father, who is 83 years old, a central Florida Republican, and as bigoted as they come, realizes that all the hype about bravery vs. cowardice or black vs. white or patriotism vs. treason or capitalism vs. socialism, is all a big smoke screen for partisan business as usual. He's voting for Obama because Obama is a smart man who owns only one house, who will actually listen to reason, and put an end to the war so that we can afford to go after Bin Laden and tackle our domestic problems. What are you all so afraid of?? Obama is just as white as he is black. So get over it already!!

If and when he loses can be contributed to thoughtful Americans who value America and its role in the world. It is you and the 90%+ African-Americans who plan to vote for someone because of his race. His Socialist policies and his defeatist worldview bothers those of us who are thoughtful and concerned that he and the Democrats will continue to assault the US Constitution, expand the "spread the wealth around" philosophy and allow our enemies to become stronger.

  • Posted By: Fisherman144 @ 10/26/2008 10:36:49 AM

The general ignorance and apathy of the American People could open the door to the corrupt thieves, McCain/Palin. It seems that the Constitution means nothing to them and is a continuation of the arrogant and greedy stance and behavior of GW Bush /Cheney and their buddies.

  • Posted By: docmai @ 10/26/2008 10:30:20 AM

It is only asbout race for you and African-Americans not European-Americans who you refer to as white. It's about his disdain for working people and his far left associations. I trust that we can snatch victory from the Democrats who will only pull our nation toward Socialism via his "spreading the wealth around" philosophy..
