It's about damn time this government was put back into the hands of the people. Obama will probably even listen to Republicans!

'What Have We Created'? Psst, I wouldn't use the term 'we' so loosely. 'You and your ilk' is more like it. It's an abomination, not Obama Nation.

How many Repubs have jumped ship, endorsing Obama? When Gen. Powell did it, that meant a whole lot to me. The NEO-CONS that have brought this country to its knees gotta go. Some should be brought up on charges, [CHENEY, RUMSFELD, GEN. R. MYERS, WOLFOWICZ, ROVE] for DERELICTION OF DUTY, and if the FBI really started digging they would find a whole lot more. The Iraq War was based on lies, it has drained our treasury [$10BILLION a month], killed the cream of our Marine Corps and Army, and took away resources from the REAL war on terror, in AFGHANISTAN. The Repubs have almost RUINED this country, and you want to vote ANOTHER one in? We must be crazy. Ohio how many jobs has ur state lost? Florida, John the LIAR will cut ur SS bennies, make you pay more for meds you need coz he will slash MEDICARE. He will say ANYTHING to get elected, wats that say about his character? His choice for VP should tell you something about his judgement--it SUX!!!

Howard, I disagree with your analysis mainly because we (the core Obama supporters) are different from the right wing Republicans in a sense that we are not ideologist!

McCain people here are just as vocal.

For someone who posts on this site as much as you do, how can you say this?

It varies here at NW, but it looks like it averages about 60/40 democrat.

Oh for heaven's sake, of course there will be disappointments - that is inevitable. The man started his career as a community organizer, after all - he knows all about frustration, failure, and resentments - in that line of work you see them all the time.

But he is also a product of Chicago politics, and if anyone knows how to master a deal, it is a Chicago politician.

At the end of the day, he gets the difference between campaigning and governing. His particular style is consensus building - and the best thing about governing by consensus is not everybody wins, but very few if any lose. Everyone leaves the table with something.

High expectations are a good thing, and a welcome change (we can believe in). And I think Obama can handle the inevitable disillusions that will occur.

    So will his supporters.

This is not a problem, this is what true democracy should be, i.e., of the people by the people for the people.

this is kinda ridicilus. Any new President will be exposed to viral communication, free press and pressure. That is what a free society is all about. It is Democracy. Shame on you even implying that this could impose a problem.

"THE PEOPLE MAY HAVE A VOICE IN GOVERNING" This is such a new concept that is a HEADLINE. If only it were possible!

The reality is that the republicans are scared that Obama will get the support for his agenda. If he does the Republicans will never get back in office. I am over the NAY sayers. I vote for Obama. God knows the country cannot be in worse hands than it is already. America IS the middle class. Lose the center and the country will follow. That should be obvious even with just a little gray matter for a republican brain.

Fineman always manages to find the black lining in every white cloud. So some supporters will be disappointed, what else is new? Personally, I'LL be disappointed if Obama doesn't lead from his own judgement and not from his email In-box.

What you, the Media, created indeed. Your title says more than perhaps you intended..

Many of us remember how GWB and JB got to be president the last go around. We are not about to let that happen again. The expectations of Sen Obama, should he become president from my friends, family, and associates who support him, is simply fair and righteous government for all. We support him because we trust his judgment and leadership to do what is best for the people and the country. He owe us nothing beyond that for our support of his efforts to govern this country.

    • Posted By: cobalt6 @ 10/25/2008 11:46:44 PM

How can you begin to talk about Obama's judgment and leadership when he has done nothing, not even as Senator has he done anything!! All he has done is change his mind and make promises that he won't be able to keep or won't even try to. Obama will say and do anything to get elected.

  • Posted By: cobalt6 @ 10/25/2008 11:28:58 PM

The truth in this article is that Obama will say and do anything to win!!! If he gets elected and when he doesn't follow through with any of his promises there will be alot of people who will be very disappointed and very anger! They will realize Obama is not the savior or messiah they have been waiting for and things will be worse than when Bush was President!
