The media is concerned about the cost of Palins clothes but they are not concerned about the cost of the obama tax plan on America or the fraudulent votes as well as foreign contributions to his campaign. The meadia continues to say he has already won this election? I as an American would like myself and my fellow Americans the opportunity to elect our president with out the influence of the media or foreigners.

    McGill,
The rumors about foreign contributions are false.
The Obama campaign has complied fully with federal election law, including donor elegibility and contribution disclosure requirement. Many of these rumors have been put around under the name Maureen Dowd, respected New York Times writer and also as independent 'research'.

Your frustration with the media and internet ,when it is damaging and false, is shared by a lot of people.

    • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 10/28/2008 6:30:25 PM

No he has not. You are no being honest. And estimated 91% of overseas contributions cannot be traced to legitimate donors. That the Federal Election Commission, and not a ''website''or the ''Internet''is conducting this investigation, should not come as a surprise.

Do you think the Obama campaign needs to run this thing illegally? There are millions of everyday folks contributing to the campaign and the money is doing fine.
You are doing the old same old same old spread-the-doubt, and your reference is a dud.
Go to FightTheSmears or Factcheck or Snopes.
You don't think the Feds would be on it? What are we? Inspector Clouseau look-alikes?

Has anyone noticed that Obama seems to be catching up in Arizona? And he is doing better than expected in Texas. McCain may loose his home state.

Perhaps a little too trusting Howard. For Obama has been unable to explain how much of his dough is coming from foreign sources including state-sponsors of terrorism. The PLO/PA freely admits to ''get out the [financial' support for Obama''campaign in Gaza.,as does Libyas leader,Moahmar Kadaffi. That this is more supression on the portion of the Howard Finemans cannot be denied, yet neither can what is a patent, serial breaking of federal election laws that the FEC is running out of patience with the Obama camp to explain itself over. Pass to ''voting'',and the ''no suprises here''come in the form of todays Wall St. Journal, which finds that every single lawyer from the Justice Depts. Civil Rights Division dispatched by Rep.John Conyers[D-Mich] office to look into not ''voter fraud'',which is becoming a found reality, but ''voter supression'',of which there is not one verifiable instance of, are all Obama supporters. Looks like ACORN is off the hook again, unless sued and taken before the USSC.

Voter fraud huh? Are you seriously telling us that Mickey Mouse showed up to vote? I want proof LOL!!!

McCain is calling for Stevens to step down? But, if it's true that he ran someone over and killed them in Virginia in 1964:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/28/news-orgs-investigate-pos_n_138449.html

Then shouldn't he step down? It seems he is a menace land, sea or air. Is that what Mavericks do? Anyhow even if he didn't take a life with a car - and the news services are pretty sure he did because the Navy is covering it up with great diligence - he is still looking a little "run-down".

If history tells us anything, Obama will/has gone to the highest bidder. These 7 million followers will have as much say in government as the dope they are smoking. No, Obama will serve at the whim of the foreign entities that have funded him the most. Money has his dumbo-esque ears.
And let's not forget, many of his donations came from fictional and cartoon characters.

McCain has CREATED panick in this election. The Bastard should be pulled for ethics violations. People are shooting people over yard signs and plotting to kill a candidate for president. McCain and his rusty side-kick S. Palin have stirred fear into the public thinking that if Obama wins the world will come to an end. How could he possibly hose things up worst that Mc Cain brother-in-law Bush. McCain has turned out to be the worst politician in history. I say keep Steven's and boot that mama's boy J. McCain. People the rest of the world is laughing at us over this election. We have NO right to talk about civil rights to anyone if we can't even think about electing a black man. I hate to think this is the America I served twenty years for in the military. Get this, I rather have Bush for four more years than McCain.

  • Posted By: Nins @ 10/28/2008 3:50:32 PM

Obama has 63 Nobel Laureates working on his policy team. They are developing a plan to push America back to the top. Who is responsible for McCain's planning? Americans would be shocked to find that Douglas Holtz-Eakin is the sole person responsible for planning McCain's policy for America's future. Holtz-Eakin is also McCain's economic advisor, filling two full time positions on McCain's team. How can one single man (an economist) be responsible for developing a viable technology plan for our future? Obama has an enormous pool of the most intelligent, talented men and women in America working for him. Soon, they will be working for US.

And let's not forget that the McCain campaign spent more on Palin's makeup artist than it did on it's foreign policy advisor. When you pay your makeup artist DOUBLE what you pay your foreign policy advisor, it is time to start examining your priorities.

You look just fine without makeup, John. And Sarah is young enough not to need any. So cut the crap, and start paying some good ECONOMIC ADVISORS so you can have a fiscal plan to present to America. We're in the middle of a huge global financial meltdown, and you are worried about hair and makeup? PLEASE start worrying about the middle class, John. Please.

Here's a video in which Obama discusses fiscal responsibility. Anyone who cares about the economy should see it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d4a6RNhCUo

On this web page, you can calculate the amount of your TAX RELIEF under Obama's plan (This tax calculator is for personal income, not for businesses. Remember that if you itemize, your tax cut will be higher than what the calculator shows. However, Obama's new 1040EZ allows people to get credit for some itemizations without having to fill out the long form and schedules.)

You can get even more information on Obama's economic policies from the Blueprint for Change.

Well, turnaround is fair play. Obama is using his supporters to get what he wants, the Presidency. They can use him to get what they want? Whatever that is! And when he doesn't deliver to them, they can all vote Republican in the mid-term election! Sounds like a plan to me!

I cannot understand a lot of Americans right now. You get all riled up over an American citizen WHO IS NOT RUNNING FOR POTUS for speaking out, yet you completely and totally ignore the associations of your candidate WHO IS RUNNING FOR POTUS. Something is very wrong with this picture...very, very wrong. I wish you all the worst four years possible if you elect this fraud. Of course, you'll find some excuse for him every time. Let me say that had the GOP come up with a stronger candidate for POTUS, there is NO WAY Obama would win...he can't seem to bring it home as it is with a weak GOP candidate. Do you ever ask yourself why this election is still so close? No...I'm sure not. You can't see past your blinders.

That is how it is supposed to work.

Absolutely...and do we really want a top tier of government with no checks and balances? Pelosi and Reid have shown their ignorance of issues, as has Frank. It makes me very anxious to think of having no checks and balances if Obama should be elected.

How can anybody worry so much by Obama's asociations without giving a thougth to the Bush-Binladen and Bush-Saudis family ties. Not to mention to McCain-Pinochet," McCain Keiting 5 Scandal", etc. For those that are afraid about an Obama administration and believe Obama suporters have blinders I say: Look at what the republican administration leaves behind, among other things: two unresolved wars and the worst financial crisis the whole world has even seen. Both were foretold and preventable. Bush destroyed Irak, the only secular regime in the region that hated the radical muslims and kept Iran at bay, failing to go after the real culprit. I pray that whoever wins this election has what it takes to try to untangle the mess: strong intellect, wise judgment, capacity of stay cool in adversity to make right choices and mostly somebody with confidence that would listen to advice and change his mind if necessary.

    • Posted By: sqrtnegone @ 10/28/2008 11:21:13 AM

Maybe what you refer to as 'Kool-aid' is a rejection of the last eight years. It just might be a desire for something different instead of more of the same GOP failures. The insults that you fling at Obama supporters say more about you than they do about them.

  • Posted By: Bona Phide @ 10/27/2008 1:16:52 PM

Shell242: That misconception has been being spread lately by a lot of consrvative pundits, but it is false. How can someone who doesn't pay income taxes get a tax break? It's simple logic that should tell you that they can't. Obama's tax cuts are for those who pay income taxes.

    • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/27/2008 1:19:31 PM

What you are saying is false. Obama will be giving back tax breaks to those who do not pay income taxes. He also will have almost one half of this country not contributing income tax.

Ok here goes. Check out the Washington Times Oct 13, Newsvine, Oct 21 and blogsabcnews.com. What they state is that Obama will give a tax refund to people who pay no income tax but pay payroll tax. Again for those idiots who say I'm a liar read a little you might actually learn something.

          • Posted By: Bona Phide @ 10/27/2008 6:04:05 PM

            • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/28/2008 7:53:34 AM

It is an income tax refund not a payroll tax refund. Therefore they are getting money back from the government where they did not contribute anything.

              • Posted By: sqrtnegone @ 10/28/2008 11:13:03 AM

Well for one thing there is no state income tax in Alaska - All residents got a state tax refund last yr.
an Exxon has to pay their fair share of taxes. Did that happen where you live. Oh I forgot MS. Palin

According to the Republican cries of Socialism. Palin is a socialist... mor like a mobster. Forcing Exxon to pay more thna their fair share of taxes to give 10000 checks to every citizen of the state... Nope not invested in infrastructure, education or her Disabled children rhetoric (which she sdmashed in Alaska BTW) Just plain old stong arm tactics. Give us a part of yours or get out....hmmm....

        Can you say SOCIALISM?

        • Posted By: valark @ 10/27/2008 3:34:37 PM

Are you both idiots? Do you know why they have to pay that money? If you understood why that policy is in effect, you would know that it a trade. The people are giving something to Exxon ( I could explain, but I want you people to actually do some work and look things up and process them, not just make snap assumptions) and in turn, Exxon has to pay them.

So you have: resource in exchange for money ( alaska ), and then you have nothing exchanged for money (current issue)

Its hardly the same thing. But hey, they use some of the same words and the ideas sounded sort of alike so why not assume they are the same thing? Oh wait...because its idiotic.

          • Posted By: sqrtnegone @ 10/28/2008 11:07:49 AM

The resource, oil, is collectively owned by the citizens of Alaska. That smacks of socialism.

      • Posted By: Heartlight3 @ 10/27/2008 2:17:05 PM

There is no state income tax in Alaska? They take the oil money and give it back to the people, and then they take money from the lower 48 (my tax money) in the form of earmarks for their projects. How is that not redistribution of wealth?

  • Posted By: jvinat @ 10/27/2008 3:10:56 PM

Every so often America needs a real "kick-in-the-mouth". 9/11 revealed terrorism for the evil it is. Viet Nam taught us to how our returning military should never be treated. Europe and other nations suffered through socialism and communism many times, only to turn towards Capitalism to save the day. The Great Depression taught us that protectionism, isolationism, and government imposing it???s will on the open market makes bad situations become dire. More government is what made the depression of 1929 become The Great Depression of the 1930???s and the early 1940???s.

What got us out of the Great Depression was WW II; well maybe we are destined to repeat that tragedy as well.

If we don???t learn from history--- well you know how that goes.

If you think things are bad now, what do think is going to happen with four years of Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, a liberal media, and a liberal supreme court?

As a Cuban-American I can tell you what Obama represents. When you lived it, it???s easier to recognize the direction. Yes, there are some details that can be argued, but his policies, taken as a whole, and regardless of intent or lip-service--- present a direction that???s undeniable.

Karl Marx defines Socialism has ???An abolishment of Capitalism as a movement towards Communism.??? Socialism starts the ball rolling, government places greater control over the market place, trying to dictate competition and pricing. But government can???t control the market place until it controls production (i.e. industry). And even after government controls industry, it can???t control dissent, which inevitably happens. The only way to control dissent is to control everything, ergo--- Communism.

    Don???t let it happen.

    Vote McCain/Palin.

    • Posted By: sqrtnegone @ 10/27/2008 3:25:04 PM

You should look at Alaska's collective ownership of the oil resources before calling Obama a socialist.

      • Posted By: Yo@kcmo @ 10/27/2008 3:41:35 PM

Where I live the City owns the Water and Power company not a priviate Corporation. The rates are not
any lower . Capitalism even when run by government can work if you have profit as a driving force .

        • Posted By: sqrtnegone @ 10/28/2008 11:02:16 AM

      • Posted By: NewDealer @ 10/27/2008 3:39:06 PM

The real problem is the dictatorships...look at the current administration. When the republicans talk about smaller government it really means less transparency. The GOP doesn't want you (the public) to know what they are up to and they don't want to be held accountable for their actions. Dick Cheney and Karl Rove pushed this thru via the puppet know as G.W. Bush and the GOP will continue that practice in a McCain/Palin presidency. Listen to some of Palin's comments already how she wants to expand the VP's powers and alter the constitution to suit her religious beliefs. That is not a government that works for the best interests of everyone and that is the real danger.

So by your statement that Socialism leads to Communism you are implying that Sweden is a Communist country? That certainly would be news to the Swedes.

      You forget to say:
      BOO!
      There, now we're all scared.
