Unfortunately, I have lived long enough to see the likes of Obama who came before him, i.e. Mao Se Tung, Ho Chi Minh, and Hitler!!!! All these guys came into the scene and gave very eloquent speeches to brainwash the people on hope and change for the people and by the people. Well I don't need to tell you how these stories ended. So to all you brainwashed Obamamites, be careful what you wish for!!!!

"Don't believe in what the communists say but look into what they're doing!!!"

You are exceedingly confused Diquiti. Those were DICTATORS, that were NOT ELECTED!!!! The US is a DEMOCRACY, where people can VOTE (well, that is if the voting machines work). It is time that the ones the GOP protects stop STEALING OPPORTUNITY and ALL THE SAVING OF THE WHOLE COUNTRY'S MIDDLE CLASS... The banks have proven themselves to be UNABLE to deal with freedom. Remember one thing, BUSH partly nationalized them, not anybody else!!!! It was INEVITABLE.... Because republican policy just isn't working...

WE MAY HAVE CREATED....Another Jimmy Carter 4-year-waste-of-everyones-time. Obama will only get in because of the economy (rightly or wrongly since Fannie/Freddie is a democratic created fiasco and the driving force behind the meltdown). Acutally Obama would be better off in 2012 because then he would have a chance for 2 terms. Now he'll be out after some of the worst 4 years experienced in the US in a long time (internal riots, world unrest). Jimmy Carter finger pointing will not solve anything - buts it will be all that Obama can think of..

when are 4.0 students going to have to start "sharing" their GPA with 2.0 students, everybody will get 3.0 average (same as his tax proposals)

    • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/27/2008 12:38:37 PM

Don't joke that will be Obama's next proposal. Can't have anyone rewarded for hard work.

Speaking as a small business person we know what the great Obama's policy will do to our creation of jobs. It will make it absolutely impossible. We will actually be cutting a vacant postion and not adding additional ones. Just a fact.

          • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/27/2008 2:52:39 PM

If you're a small business person, Obama's tax plan won't touch you.

Well, I'm sure the smart Dems wouldn't want to share with you Republicans. Oh, they won't have too since your daddy will buy you a place at school, just like McCain.

When the official US currency becomes grade points instead of dollars and you can use them to purchase goods and services as well as to defend the sovereignty of the United States, then you may be somewhat closer to approaching some level of intelligent thought

McCain-Palin have people shouting 'terrorist' and 'kill him' at their rallies, and Obama's the one who's created a monster??? C'mon!

      • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/27/2008 12:44:27 PM

Incorrect. They said they couldn't definitively say they heard it, or if they heard "tell them". Other people on the scene say they heard "kill him".

        Nice try, though.

            • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/27/2008 2:56:30 PM

Actually quite a few. I always think it is good to be informed of what is going on in the world.

No, you said "most", not "many". So you are claiming that you have been on at least 50% of all liberal blogs on the internet.

When do you sleep? Or run that alleged business you claim to own?

I will clarify so that you can understand. On most of the ones I have read. Not on most of all blogs. Is that a little clearer for you. Hope so. I don't want to make it too hard for you.

You mean compared to the "nice things" said on right wing conservative blogs? You know, stuff like, "He's a terrorist; a racist.....stuff like that?" You're probably one of those 25% who think Bush is still doing a good job, huh? Pleeze. America needs a change and McCain/Palin aren't up to it. This one vote for that one yesterday and expect a landslide next Tuesday! Obama/Biden '08/'12!

            • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/27/2008 2:01:16 PM

If you are expecting a landslide you will be sadly disappointed. Really it is amazing with all that Obama has in his favor right now and he can barely crack 50%. Hardly an amazing accomplishment. I have never seen a candidate have the presidencey handed to him without any true questioning. With all of this he should be at 75%. Don't see it happening. If he gets in it will be like Jimmy Carter 4 years and out.

    • Posted By: shell242 @ 10/27/2008 1:11:52 PM

How will Obama unify America when he only has approx. 55% behind him? The country will be the same as it was before. Obama will have to make "real" decisions not sure campaign fluff promises that carry no real responsibility. If we are attacked, he will need to attack back and the American public will not know all of the real details (since that would be stupid to announce to the world). Lastly I do not want to be "unified" into Obama's society. I work hard and make my own money. I don't need to be a sloth and dregg on society and ask for "what's mine."

I am for the war in Afghanistan.

      • Posted By: TheVigil @ 10/27/2008 5:04:54 PM

Yeah, I think the article has the extent to which Obama's supporters might oppose the war in Afghanistan *vastly* overrated. Nobody I know who supports Obama opposes Afghani action but we all oppose further action in Iraq.

  • Posted By: No Bias No Bull @ 10/27/2008 4:58:10 PM

Stop spreading the false image that Obama ' s supporters are like flocks of sheep. We are intelligent, visionary and comitted, and we expect to disagree with him on some issues. I personally was upset when he refused public funding, but I support him on other issues and he allows me to feel that's okay to agree to disagree and be civil. We intend to hold him accountable, but he owes us nothing because this is not for us but for America. Like most successful minorities, being the first comes with great responsibility and you must prove yourself to be more than 3 times better than the average. He will be an exceptional president, he has no choice, but he will anger us, he will modify plans as the environment dictates. One of things I hate about the campaigns is that its a problem when people evolve from their positions over the years. What I believed in 2001 doesn't mean it can be applied to how I feel in 2008.

NowfortheTruth asserts that the goal of community organizing is to "redistribute wealth."

The real goal of community organizing is to assemble political power for those who historically have had none: the poor and minorities. Some community organizations exist to redress the fact that white banks have refused to loan money to black clients. If you want to call this "redistribution of wealth," go right ahead. The rest us will continue to call it racism.

And when it comes to discussing "redistribution of wealth" and calling Obama a socialist, it is time for you to rethink that strategy. You might be stepping into a huge pile of dog doo-doo, Now fortheTruth.

Did you see McCain on Meet the Press this Sunday? Tom Brokaw played two clips of when McCain was against the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. McCain sings the praises of "redistribution of wealth" and says "wealthy people can afford more taxes."

When McCain opposed the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, he said that he was taking a "principled stance." But when Obama opposes these same tax cuts, McCain labels Obama as a "socialist." Nice double standard, John.

The doo-doo gets deeper, Now for the Dog Stuff on my Hoof.

The difference between the Republicans and Democrats are the Democrats direct monies to serve all the people. Republicans help their rich friends and don't want to help the middle class.

so how much money do you earn, the bible asks us to tithe, the money is god's, you don't question that do you? but in politics, you pay taxes so your hard earned money goes to the government, no matter who is in it. Read more on socialism instead of listening to MCCain tell it. he is in with BUSH who got your money for eight years? the AIG, where is that money now? The AIG and theGOP? Obama isn't taking about taking your money, hell the banks have already done that. the rich, republican government , the war, social security all of that has taken out money. wake up please. or we sill still be at war, depleating our resources so that people can invade us.we need allies, the world is watching. we don't need a stubborn old man and a racist, woman who isn't in line with her own party.

The Bush Administration has created more socialism in this country than any other President. Or should I say communism since they have purchased Fannie Mae, Fannie Mae, and have stock in the banks and investments firms. Next, they'll buy out the auto industry and airlines. Wake up, you are already in the socialist party.

paproudmom - I am also a small business person, though I see it the other way. Obama's plan is a big help for those of us 'real' small businesses: mom & pops, 2-10 employees, startups, etc. About 98% of small businesses produce a profit of less than $250,000 for the owner. All of these businesses will get tax cuts. If you profit more than a quarter million a year, then you only pay an extra 3% of taxes on the amount over a quarter million. How was the economy under Clinton? Pretty good? We'll have the same taxes as we did under Clinton. You think that tax cuts alone are what creates a good economy? Why is it that the Bush tax cuts have resulted in such a net decline over the last 7 years?

Tax breaks for those who do not pay income taxes... many service employees pay a payroll tax. They, too, are struggling. What happens when you give lots of working people money? They spend it and put it right back in the economy. What happens when you give rich people money? The keep it.

The question is who, in this economy, should receive tax cuts. You seem to advocate for the wealthy. I'm sure they're having a tough time now that they have to push off the purchase of that new boat. The rest of America is advocating for the 285 million of us that are having to choose between food and utility bills. The economy cannot survive when the consumers are unable to consume.

A monster, or even a 3-headed monster, Obama-Pelosi-Reid, the biggest well-fare system, with big spending plus big government-control and more regulations, as a result people will have less and less freedom. All those who work will be punished or taxed to pay for well-fare and finance big spending. It is the philosophy of socialism of the Democratic Party, and Obama is the worst kind, extremist leftist. Is it America's destiny, deserving Joe Biden, and eventually Michelle Obama, as our future presidents? American people are snarter than that. Barack Obama is simply reincarnation of Jimmy Carter + George Bush, and he will cause deeper recession, or even a Great Depression.

They have spent so much money on military they don't have anything left for anything else. Government has more responsibility than funding military and cops. Roads needs to be fixed. Schools needs to be funded. Basic scientific research needs to be funded. Judicial system needs to be funded. There needs to be basic social services available to everyone. There needs to be money for "liberal" agenda not just for the "conservative" agenda of funding military, coroporations and subsidizing ethanol. If you are against "well-fare" first fight your own party and then you can talk about Pelosi and Reid. They both are better people with better values than any Republican in any given day.

They are exactly where you will find authorization for ethanol subsidies and outrageous military spending.

I know I keep bringing up Nathan Sproul but I really don't hear too much about him, despite the fact that the RNC paid him over $8,000,000 in 2005 and we REALLY don't know (till this DAY) what he did for them.

Considering we lost Florida by 500 votes, I feel would should have operatives tracking EVERY move Sproul and his company makes until after the election. No one will CARE AFTER the election.

Interesting this because I wrote exactly the same thing in a posting on here a week ago, not so much the part about them wanting a say, but more about the fact that voters have come to believe he is their messiah and will solve all their problems, and, of course they are in for a huge let down.
Another thing about this guy that you all seem to ignore is the fact, that yes, he does everything well (at least as far as campaigning is concerned) but doesn't it bother any of you that he is just too perfect, too polished, too good to be true, To me, he just doesn't seem real, more like Star Trek's Data, than a real person, (which is what makes him nothing like FDR or Reagan by the way) and, a long life has taught me, to tread with caution when dealing with this type. A McCain type may be imperfect and a lousy strategist, but what you see is what you get. There are no nasty suprises round the corner.
Finally, I think you media people are doing your country a great disservice by glossing over these large questions that loom over Obama. The voters deserve a much more frank and honest assessment of who he really is. This is not a rock star you are promoting but the next leader of your country, a country which is in a really bad crisis at the moment and you need to be really sure about who you are handing the reigns to.

I think maybe a year ago this comment would've held some water due to most of the people out there not knowing who Obama was. Now we have had a chance to dig into these supposed "scary" relationships, look at his career, and form the opinion that for every step of the way Obama has chosen to work for the little guy instead of taking the big money. After Harvard he could've gone on to any law firm of his choosing, and instead became a civil rights attorney on the south side of Chicago. That decision conceivably cost him millions of dollars up front. Then, he decided to work in the state senate for 8 yrs.

Given that he could've gone to the private sector, and made a lot more money, I believe he will work on the average American's behalf. Given that he has surrounded himself with some of the brightest minds available in all aspects of his campaign, it shows to me that he will better govern us. We need the best minds to put us back into the competition for leader of the free world. McCain cannot even send an email...
