Obama in this video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other Community Activist's organizations. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President and pledge to meet with leaders of Acorn and the others present at the convention in his first year, Obama says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama has promised that Acorn and other groups like it will a part of his transition and setting his agenda if elected:

Every job interview requires the correct prfessional clothing, man, or woman. It is necessary.
The only thing I see wrong is all the overspent lip service on the issue. Why doesn't your wife
go and buy your daughter a wedding dress at the Salvation Army store and maybe a used suit
    for yourself.

I did buy my wedding dress used and I bought my best going to business presentation outfit at Ann Taylor for a shocking (for me) $199.00. That was 10 years ago and I still get complements on that outfit...it's classic.

I think the people at the RNC have a right to complain about how their donations are used, if they like. I know here I Michigan the RNC was quite upset by the McCain campaign pulling out so publicly.

Wow, so the final conclusion is why weren't they smart enough to cover it up? Sad commentary about the party.

It would have been very easy for Ms. Palin to say "NO" to the purchased duds...and golly gee and you betcha! think of the press the GOP could have milked out of that choice...had Ms. Plain (oh, I'm sorry..that's Ms. PALIN) lived up to her rhetoric....which of course she didn't.\\

Palin and her family could have looked great for only $20K and there would have been no noise about the whole thing. She would have had more repeat outfits, but so what. Then they could have argued about the frugality of the whole thing. The problem with the $150K is that it included clearly frivolous expenses like the Lous Vuitton bag her daughter had. Palin did need the clothes. Think of it as a marketing expense for the campaign. The problem was that she could have looked more than good enough by shopping at Macy's and Todd Palin could easily have been dressed with some classic clothing (blue blazer, camel hair blazer and tons of mix and match pants, blue and white shirts and tons of ties) for $5K. There is a big difference between looking good and haute couture and they went way over the line. Lastly, $22K for the makeup person.? That is just ridiculous. You can't do that kind of thing and then say you are out there for all the Joe Sixpack of the world. The image and the message have to match somewhat. In this case, they are contradictory and since actions speak louder than words, the American people are tuning out her message as evidenced by her pos/neg ratings.

I would be very angry if the amount spent on Palin is a million dollars. I don't think that's enough for a pretty woman like her (Palin) and her family the $150,000.00 in question considering how we live in America and the cost of living. Maybe Newsweek is comparing Sarah to Michele's clothing,.....big difference between the two to be honest with you! Sarah is too pretty with higher standard. Amount ok with me. JLBryce

"A former Newsweek reporter admitted in an article this week that he has no objectivity and imagined disabling Rudy Giuliani so he wouldn't run in the presidential primary race last year.
Michael Hastings wrote in GQ magazine that he had a "recurring fantasy" that he could somehow stop the former New York City mayor in his tracks.
"I quickly realized Rudy was a maniac. I had a recurring fantasy in which I took him out during a press conference (it was nonlethal, just something that put him out of commission for a year or so), saving America from the horror of a President Giuliani. If that sounds like I had some trouble being 'objective,' I did. Objectivity is a fallacy," he said."

Comment: Way to dig into the critical issues, media outlets</sarcasm>. When these campaigns are bringing in tens of millions of dollars and buying 30 minute segments on national networks (NBC, Obama) during primetime, we are supposed to be worried about a candidate buying clothes? Really? Why don't you track down Obama's birth certificate or school records or Palin's for that matter. How about some substance?

Obama's birth certificate and his school records are substantive issues? Since when and in whose judgment - yours? Do you really think that Obama would get this far without a valid birth certificate? You need to go to the childrens' sites until you grow up. You are sentenced to be net nannied there until you show some common sense and can return to this site to have a discourse with intelligent grown ups. Some people still have their head down the Rabbit Hole. I have news for you, this is not Wonderland.

She spent more on clothes in two months than I have spent in a 53 year life time. Indeed, I have spent no more than $25,000, maybe $45,000 adjusted for inflation. And I dress well on the job every day. Seriously.

And to compare her to Clinton or Edwards is ridiculous - we are talking about $150,000 in two months for crying out loud.

That's enough to buy Joe the Plumber his business. Now that would have been a great thing for the campaign to do. And it is about 5 to 10 years of Joe Six Pack's salary.

I am sure she relates to the Joe Six Packs. This woman is not middle class in her thinking. Sarah talks a good slang, but in her elite and exclusive heart of hearts, she is a lover of only pure gold ....
