Good going America. You are living proof that we are living in the Age of Fools. You finally scraped the bottom of the political barrel to elect someone totally unqualified to be president, just because you could. Good luck with that Socialist choice. We will see how things go when he tries to take your last dollar, by taxing everthing you have and do, so he can give it to someone who is undeserving because of laziness or just plain stupid decision making. Oh, that's right you won't do anything, because you elected them all to political offices.

This isn't prophecy, but it could be considered a good bet that the oil wells of some of our most productive fields will all of a sudden start going dry, especially in Russia, in the next ten years or so. Today the problems in the Middle-East are the lies and jealousies of the Arab states toward Israel. The Arabs have a better chance of finding a goose that lays golden eggs or proving that the moon is made of cheese than forcing Israel off her God given lands. But, if Israel has the large untapped oil fields that she is believed to have, because of recent discoveries, somone like Russia maybe tempted to join the Arab states. And while there grab the Arab oil too.

Ref. Stemoo: Matthew 24-25 only addresses Israel during the Tribulation, not the Body of Christ or the unbelieving Gentiles. The Church age is not mentioned at all except in the Epistles of Paul. Only Revelation addresses the left behind Gentiles, believers and unbelievers, as well as Israel under the Gospel of the Kingdom, not Grace. Our biggest sin is unbelief or ignoring God. All Satan has to do is deceive one and thousands will follow. We are not sinners because we sin, but we sin because we are sinners. Satan does very little in this world, because by our very sinning nature we do his work for him. For those who lack knowledge of Scripture, Satan only has to destroy the nation and House of Israel to succeed. As Israel goes, so goes the world.

Please allow the Iranians to own and utilise nuclear technology. That's the surest way to sustaining world peace

Please allow the Iranians to acquire and utilise nuclear technology as others are allowed to. An uneven platform would exacerbate terrorism

mfenwick said: 'I would give a year's salary if Iran, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt would all gang up on Israel and wipe it off the map. Maybe then all these damn Zionists would shut up and the Jews in this country would move away.'

So this poster finds it fully acceptable to wipe out the people of (fill in your choice) religion based on that religion's beliefs. That means it is fully acceptable, according to the poster, to wipe out the Christians, or Muslims, or Hindus, or Shintos, or Buddhists, or agnostics, etc. etc. if you disagree with their religious beliefs. Therefore the poster finds it fully acceptable for the people of some other religion than his/hers to wipe his/her religion off the map based on his/her regious beliefs. Where does it end???

Has it occurred to anyone that Muslims believe not only in the Koran, but also the Christian Bible which itself includes the Jewish Torah. Therefore the Muslim religion has the same basic beliefs as both Christians and Jewish. The only digression is where the end of the teachings of the common God end. These are not three religions, but a single common religion with the only issue of contention being when God stopped talking to Man. This is not about three great religions, its only a family feud, but with a big family. And resolving a family feud is even more hopeless than resolving religious differences.

    • Posted By: mfenwick @ 10/26/2008 9:24:06 PM

The three main causes of war are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. No Satanist or Wiccan has ever caused a war. Think about that. Every war that has ever occurred in the West has been started by a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim. Wipe out all these religions and you pretty much do away with all wars. Keep in mind that all wars, when you strip away the politics, economics, and expansionism, are fought to settle the question, "Whose god is more powerful; ours or theirs?" Israel is a theocracy, therefore it must be destroyed. Even God Himself referred to the Jews as a stiffnecked people.

      • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:41:24 PM

Rather short sighted, aren't you. All those who do not worship the true God, worship satan. This simple truth means that most of the wars of the world were done by satanists; you might have heard of some of the following: Hitler, Mussolini, The Roman Empire (before "Holy"), Attila the Hun, Islam, the Hun dynasty, the Chinese dynasty, The American Indian tribes, etc, etc., etc. Eac h had their "wiccan", and each worshipped as satanists. Of course, this inconvenient truth will be hard for an ignorant person to swallow.

        • Posted By: mfenwick @ 10/31/2008 8:25:52 PM

I don't know what in the hell you're talking about. Everything you wrote was gibberish and made no sense whatsoever. I do wish you Christians would stay out of politics and stick with your rantings and ravings against us sinners. Your citizenship is in heaven not on earth, therefore you have no business meddling in politics, voting, serving in the military, etc. Just stick to your Bible-thumping and you'll be okay.

      • Posted By: Rebel9668 @ 10/30/2008 5:05:33 AM

Perhaps Satanists have not directly started a war, but indirectly I'm quite sure they're all for war. To imply being a satanist means that the only way they could know about satan was from the religions of judaism, Islam and Christianity. Now any fool knows how Satan is portrayed in these religions. He is the Liar, the trickster, etc, etc. He delights in war, pain, suffering and general human misery. Aren't Satanic cults and their offshoots known for the occasional pet or human sacrifice? My whole idea is, is that if you know the eventual end game for Satan and his followers, and since knowing about Satan must therefore extend originally from knowing about the Bible/Torah/Qu'ran, it follows that if you believe in Satan, you must also believe in God. And if knowing the end result of worshipping a deity whose final end is perishing in the pit, how could you delude yourself into following him knowingly?

      • Posted By: Tabi @ 10/26/2008 9:50:45 PM

Are you daft? The main cause of war is imbalances of power, fear, pride and greed. One then attempts to dress up the war in whatever clothing is readily available. Cultural imagery is the most commonly used, and by extension religious imagery due to the intertwining of the two.

Just look at all the wars between nations of the same religion. Did the Ottomans war with their fellow Muslims because they were Muslims or because they wanted more land? Or how about the wars started by communists?

  • Posted By: monger @ 10/31/2008 7:10:19 PM

The world has been without a World War for too long? Nobody remembers?
And the pressure just keeps mounting. NATO encircles Russia and Russia flexes its muscles. Nuclear arms race in the Mid-East, to catch up with Israel. An imperial power deeply embroiled to protect its economic interests (this time we, the US). Alliances between big and trivial nations that act as the fuses for the powderkeg. But events can't be stopped. Nukes too deep, troops to stretched, economy too bad, dialogue impossible, positions too rigid and the pressure keeps rising.
When it finally blows, the last powerful nation to enter the fray can pick the winning side, and shift the outcome in its favor. Last two times it was the US. Odds are this time it will be China.

  • Posted By: stevedma @ 10/26/2008 7:36:18 PM

For approximately 40 years, it has been all but confirmed that Israel possesses nuclear weaponry; yet no other middle eastern nation has actively moved forward toward creation of a similar program. It is all but guaranteed that the completion of a nuclear program by an unstable country like Iran will promote the need of its neighbors to do the same, something that was not deemed necessary in the past. It is the irrational behavior of Iranian's leadership that will lead to nuclear proliferation.

    • Posted By: monger @ 10/31/2008 6:56:02 PM

The proliferation was started, as you say, 40 years ago. A situation based on "no reason to believe the Israelis will abandon their policy against shooting first with nukes" could not be sustained.
It is akin to one team throwing forward passes without expecting the others to follow suit. Iran just happens to be the one, but as long as the Mid-East is an angry hornet's nest, it was bound to happen. Just as India and Paksitan did their nuclear tango, and before that we and the Soviets.

I by no means condone any sort of nationalistic violence or fascism.
Im still waiting for the war on war.
These is something here I dont understand. Iran???s weapons are deep for Israel to attack and destroy!
I know for sure Israel???s weaponry / technology is more adapt and of a higher quality than Irans. If such weaponry that Isreal imposes cannot reach Iran weapons- then how are Iran???s weapons going to reach Israel, or Europe or much less the U.S. as I have heard Mccain, Palin and others suggest?
Im am so tired of the faer mongering- we need real diplomacy from all countires concerned! Then if that does not work let the neocons blow up the world- its their manifest destiny!

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:23:44 PM

You must have missed the recent information from Iran that they now have missiles capable of reaching not only Israel, but also Europe.
(sic.) Amadinajob? wants catastrophic war; it will cause the return of the 13th (or last) Mullah. Not my thoughts...his.

      • Posted By: monger @ 10/31/2008 6:47:22 PM

"no reason to believe the Israelis will abandon their policy against shooting first with nukes" - Israel can hit any capitol in the Mid-East now, not to mention a few in Europe.
As far as the lunatic front man Iran has as the president, hope the world gives the USA some credit despite our own lunatic.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:20:51 PM

The return of the Messiah WILL be the war on war. It's told about in Revelations. You could probably get some insight from wikipedia. This is, by the way, the ONLY war against war in history. The signs are that this will occur, possibly, within the next 4 years.

    • Posted By: sjbrock80 @ 10/27/2008 6:08:47 PM

Have you ever read one transcript on the attempted diplomacy with Ahmadinajad? The guy is a nutjob and his opinions change on a daily basis. One day he says he will work with you and the next he says he will destroy you. Do you have any suggestions on how to push diplomacy with someone like that? It's like trying to argue with a 3 year old.

Rather than spend so much angst over trying to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, our time would be better spent figuring out how to co-exist with a nuclear iran. The nuclear genie is out of the bottle - nothing we do or don't do will stop them from getting nuclear bombs if that is ultimately what they choose to do.

We are not that powerful. It is delusional on our part, and the height of arrogance, to think we are.

But we have managed to co-exist with nuclear Russia (the old evil empire) China, India and Pakistan. Even the North Koreans have managed to stay away from the doomsday button. With the right kind of persuasion, so will Iran.

Yes, the current mouthpiece of Iran is worrisome, but he is also a caricature. The situation is very typical - get a loudmouth buffoon to generate a lot of loathsome rhetoric, but have others quietly in the background pulling the strings. (Not unlike our present white house buffoon and his VP). The current Iranian buffoon has a lot less real power than most Americans think he has, but he's damn good at his job - keeping the rabble stirred up.

Iran has no interest in attacking the United States - after all, we buy their oil. They need us. We would be a lot smarter if we figured out how to keep Iran in our debt, rather than continue to isolate and alienate them. And although Iran's favorite pasttime is making noise about attacking Israel, they won't risk an outright attack, because while they don't need Isreal, they do need us.

And imagine what might happen if we could persuade Iran to help us keep nuclear bombs out of the hands of the real threat, guys like bin Ladin. Don't think for a second that Iran wants Al Queda to get the bomb any more than we do - Iranian wealth and power - all wealth and power - is just as vulnerable in the Al Queda scheme of things as the west is.

No - a nuclear Iran is troublesome, but not insurmountable. An isolated, defensive, angry Iran, however, is more of a threat, as is an Iran that gets attacked by Israel or the US. And an Iran that won't lift a finger to help keep nukes out of the hands of Al Queda is most worrisome of all.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 1:59:20 PM

An Obama supporter, no doub; so naive. Iran would give nuclear weapons to terrorist groups in a second; they would shoot nuclear weapons in a microsecond against Israel. Iran invites nuclear war, even to its own destruction. Why? They want the last Mullah to come; he comes only after worldwide destruction.
We don't get ANY Iranian oil. SOme of our allies do. We don't need their oil, but their oil helps to keep the price lower. The young will never cause a change in Iran; the Mullahs run things, and what governemtn there is is supported by the military. The batle of Gog and Magag will occur soon. There will be no change in Iranian objectives. Why remain ignorant and illiterate. Look up the battle, and note how the alliances we see now are exactly as they were predicted thousands of years ago. Time to head for the Hills!

      • Posted By: monger @ 10/31/2008 6:43:23 PM

as to who would shoot nukes, did you miss this line in the article : "no reason to believe the Israelis will abandon their policy against shooting first with nukes" ?
Nations have no friends, just self interests. We should keep that in mind at all times.

For anyone who is not familiar and is curious, let him read Matthew 24 for a bit of insight into the time that is quickly approaching, "... even at the door." The Lord has given us tremendous opportunities to turn from wickedness and follow him. He has allowed us free will, because he will not force anyone to submit to his love. By denying him and Jesus Christ's pivotal work on the cross, unbelievers are willingly choosing to serve Satan. The Word of God is very clear about this. The thing is that, whether a person is consciously or unconsciously serving Satan, he hates the wicked the same as he hates the righteous, because we all are made in the image of God. Like a prideful, self-seeking ideologue (i.e. Hitler or A-jad), except on a much vaster scale, Satan seeks to take as many down with him as he can -- largely through deception such as we see in these times.

I thought the right wing republicans seemed to fit in many of those categories. The religious right could be equated with Nazism. As long as you live by their rules you're fine, but if you show any deviance from what they preach, that is to say, for you to have a mind of your own, then you'll be villified, condemned and emasculated. Somehow, the God I believe in is a loving God that said, Judge not lest ye be judged and he who is without sin, cast the first stone. Now knowing that men are born into sin, that no one is pure, while I must love everyone, I certainly feel no compunction to agree with those right wing nut jobs.

        • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 3:13:52 PM

Many non CHristians have the mistaken belief that the Messiah was an effeminate "let us all get togethor" type, "All types of worship are ok if one is sincere", and "God never condemns or judges anyone"; this seems to be what they believe Christianity consists of. What tripe. The Christ said "you are of your father, the devil"; "because you do not know me, you do not know the father; if you had known me, you would have known the father." Such people forget that he drove out the money lenders from the temple with pure force. The GOd of the bible condemns the man who does not judge between good and evil, both men and circumstances. The God of the bible demanded the total destruction of tribes he had condemned for their practices. Remember that Saul lost his kingship because he took a trophy (a living king) from a tribe God had commanded Israel to destroy.
I marvel at those who get their Christian beliefs from the silver screen; they are so illiterate in the Word of God. I'll bet you an apology if you are capable of reading the New Testament. I will bet that you can't do it; attention deficit syndrome makes it so hard for YOU types.

This will actually happen.. It is called the battle of Gog and Magog in the bible. Saudi Arabia will not be part of this, but the others are part. In addition, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Iran, Syria, and other countries in northern Africa, and many of the Islamic countries south of Russia are involved. In land now occupied by Palestinians, 5/6 of the Russian led army will be destroyed, the rest will be chased back to Russia. Israeli's will pay people to bury the bodies for seven months. Later, 200,000,000 of a Chinese alliance cross the Euphrates and are destroyed. The Israeli army has God's promise that it will never be defeated. There will reach a point where EVERY COUNTRY on earth goes against Israel. The Messiah returns and destroys them all. Are you sure you really want that? Doesn't look to me as if YOU are going to fare very well.

Who is bested suited to lead in these difficult times? The two candidates have had to deal with both a major presidential level decision and a global crisis in the past couple months.

We just witnessed as good a side by side crisis test as you could ask for. Both candidates had to respond to the global financial meltdown, which John's campaign manager Rick Davis called "the worst financial crisis in our nation's history." It was John McCain who was late to recognize what was happening and then couldn't figure out how to respond. He made a dramatic show of suspending his campaign because he knew he needed to seize the initiative politically, but then didn't seem to have any coherent position once he took charge. It doesn't inspire confidence when you say you're going to do something and then back down within days.

On the critical matter of selecting a VP who would step into the Presidency in an emergency, John McCain gives us an unintelligent mediocrity without knowledge or experience in national and international issues. Palin clearly was chosen to fire up the religious right base, but she has little appeal to the vast swath of America. Obama's VP pick is Sentor Joe Biden, who clearly has foreign policy chops and could legitimately step into the Oval Office should the need arise.

John's horrendous POW experience did nothing to prepare him for the job of president. A captive soldier must cope with a situation in which he has no control and can decide nothing. A President of the United States must make good decisions over and over again. Barack Obama has demonstrated the intelligence, calmness and good judgment we so desperately need in a leader for these troubled times. He has been tested repeatedly in this marathon campaign and he has risen to meet every challenge, sticking to his message of hope and change, and not falling into the low-life mud slinging we have seen from McCain.

Obama has better judgement, better temperament, better manners and better ideas that John McCain. I'm a middle-aged white female Christian Republican, and I am voting for Barack Obama.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:18:09 PM

You are correct about McCain's stop and start, botched up campaign. What he found when he stopped his campaign to go to Washington and "fix" the economic problem, was that nobody looked to him for leadership, no one in either party. Actually, all his Bi-partisan efforts were horrendous failures...niether party adopting them.
Nevertheless, better this bumbler, than Obama. Obama has all the integrity of a dead snake; any one of any intelligence would understand this just from his 24 years support and stay in that anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, anti-white, anti-American, pro-terrorist (Sandanista and Hezbollah) so-called "Church". An Obama administration will have us looking at the disasterous Jimmy Carter years (gas lines, 26% PRIME INTEREST RATE), as the "Good old days".

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:05:52 PM

Do not claim Christianity, Nins. No one who spent as much as a month in that anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli, anti-White, anti-American, pro-terrorist (Sandanista, Hezbollah) "CHURCH" is Christian or cdan be trusted. Apparently, you are middle-aged and deluded. Obama is another Jimmy Carter, who has defined Christianity in his own mind, but hates the CHristianity of the bible, and its adherants. You vote for the head of a politicdal party who is, indeed, a proper person for a party that Sodom and Gomorrah would look to with envy. Look to your soul; will you also follow the Anti-Christ?

  • Posted By: daniel.9.24 @ 10/27/2008 2:27:41 PM

After reading your comments, it is apparent that pretty much most of you also believe that Santa Claus and the Easter bunny are real. Your understanding of the conflicts engulfing Israel in the Middle East evade you. Judaism and Christianity are not religions, but Faiths. The cause of war in the Middle East is not religion, but ancient jealousy. The more recent instigators of that jealousy attached it to Islam to increase their power base, which worked, but will be unsuccessful. In the end it won't be the instigators who will win or you, but Israel.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 2:09:58 PM

You are correct. Israel does win...with the return of the Messiah. Militarily, God has promised Israel that it will NEVER lose. It does, however, get beaten up pretty good.

    To Daru786:
You ask why Iran should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons? Well here is your answer. India is not ruled by religious fanatics like Iran is. Furthermore, India does not regularly call for the annihilation of its neighbors like the president of Iran does frequently. It is astonishing that you do not realize the fact that you do not realize that religions like Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all very dangerous. Religions are a crutch for the weak and religions are frequently used to justify atrocities. Any government ruled by religious clerics should never be allowed to exist, much less arm its ignorant self with weapons. We should murder all the religious people in the world, including the Iranian clerics, so that the world may be a peaceful community of rational science based policies. Allah is not real. Jesus is not real. Religious people are too ignorant to be allowed to live much less posses powerful weapons. Maybe you should read a little more yourself about how ignorant all Muslims, Jews, and Christians are you fool.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 1:42:38 PM

AthiestAmerican: You are a meathead, indeed. I suppose you find more merit in those who worship, micke, rats, cows, snakes, and many-armed statues. Perhaps you believe that a many caste system that relegates humans to generations of hand cleaning public bathrooms (and such), makes a country more eligible to have nuclear weapons. Perhaps you believe that the only group actually worshipping God (the Christians) should be wiped out with the tacit approval of local govenment. Actually, I wouldn't allow India to have nuclear weapons, either. I did enjoy your solution for religious people; is there any chance you are a vegetarian. Hitler was a vegetarian, and he had a solution remarkably similar to yours.
It is such a shame that you are so illiterate in the Word of God. I challenge you to read it (completly)beginning with Mark tghrough Revelations, then the Old Testament. You, of course, will never do this, you haven't the intellectual ability to do so. I think they call it attention deficit syndrome. SO Sad!

  • Posted By: Mwalimu @ 10/29/2008 7:20:37 PM

Thanks for throwing in some common sense. Iran's nuclear facilities do pose a threat - but not the way that McCain and the GOP love to frame it. First of all, the Iranian government cannot guarantee the safety of any of its nuclear facilities. Like McCain and the GOP, the Iranian government hates any form of nuclear regulation. Should an accident occur, Iran and its Islamic neighbors who will suffer the effects far faster than israel.
Secondly Iran has not told us how they will dispose of nuclear wastes. In that respect it faces the same problem that nuclear power plants face world-wide - including France, whose nuclear disposal policies have gotten condemnations from the EU. Supposedly Russia is taking care of Iran's nuclear wastes, but what does Russia plan to do - dump the stuff in the Persian Gulf? If the beaches of Abu Dubai start to glow in the dark someday, at least we'll know why.
Our problem is that we do not know how to fight Iran. McCain's proposal to threaten and bomb will not help matters. He fails to understand that Iran is a young nation and that Iran's young are increasingly restive under the rule of the mullahs, since Iran suffers from a high unemployment rate, a high inflation rate, and a chronic shortage of gasoline. Military action would simply generate a rally-round-the-flag campaign. It would provide the mullahs with the diversion they need.
Obama's proposal to begin to talk to Iran in some way makes a lot of sense. So does Obama's plan to free us from the tyranny of oil in 10 years. McCain again has got it wrong. if we decide to stop buying foreing oil, that will not deter terrorists because governments like Iran can always sell their oil to someone else. We will gain the economic leverage we need ONLY if we eliminate the need for oil - both here and everywhere else in the world. Iran for example would be a prime candidate for solar energy - provided we can develop it. Perhaps we need to think of fuel from kelp, algae or even bacteria. These are powerful trump cards.
we need to learn to fight smart. That's a concept Obama understands. That's one reason Obama and his Democratic allies need a sweeping mandate next week.

    • Posted By: issachar5 @ 10/30/2008 1:26:43 PM

Mwalimu, you have a great deal of intelligence, but you are obviously young and naive. You are correct about the Iranian disposal of nuclear waste; it will be as ridiculous as Russia's method (dumping in waterways). The mullahs own the country; no number of young will be able to change it; only if the military turns against the Mullahs will there be a change in the country. The battle of Gog and Magog will occur soon, so there will be no change in Iranian government. Obama? Don't trust him to do anything but make things worst. He is a sheep in wolf's clothing; he will surrender to terrorists, and embolden the middle eastern countries to go the way of the terrorists...to their destruction. Obama is Anti-American, and America will see a return of the Jimmy Carter era, but worst, much worst. It's a good time to head for the mountains!

The revolution in Iran, took place when the Shah of Iran was the ruler. Let bygones be bygones, and let the people of Iran and the United States come together in goodwill. If there are good relations between the two nations, then Iran will not suspect the United States of continued attempts of trying to subvert Iran's various national interest. Iran and the United States have differences over a number of issues, but the issues are not being determined toward their solution.
