Why We Believe

I love skeptics especially the very closed minded ones that have been proven wrong so many times in the past ; )

Sorry, I don't choose to believe in God because the economy is down and it helps me feel more secure. I choose to believe in God because He has shown me He's real. The bible for thousands of years has explained the truth behind spirits and paranormal acticity. Science can explain many truths about the natural world but can offer no explanation for our existence or paranormal/spiritual occurrences, only theory. To people on the outside, they will never understand, because they have never taken the time or had the open mind to try to understand Gods word. As many of my faith believe, there is a heaven and a hell, angels and demons, and God created us with a soul and spirit. What is real to us as believers is the spiritual realm where God and his angels, along with the demonic operate. What is not real is a body of flesh and blood, that eventually turns back into dust, but the spirit lives on. If you can understand that we operate inside of another realm that our spirit is in tune with but our physical bodies are out of tune with it makes more sense. Some people who are spiritually more intuitive experience visions, manifestations, and can even hear audible voices. The flip side to this is that the demonic also have an ability to reveal and confuse. Ever wonder why on Paranormal State and other shows where there is clearly spiritial activity, the spirtual activity that is demonic is combated with thousand year old Jewish/ Christian protocol, and why does the name "Jesus" contain so much power when spoken on these shows? For believers, the answer is simple, to all non-believers, I guess keep reading til you see something that satisfies your carnal intuition that there is something "more" going on that can't be understood, or if you really want to understand more ask someone of faith.

All of you religious types are idiots. Period.

Joercdd, you write: "Science tells us that complexity indicates design which indicates intelligence." You are clearly subscribing to some very bad scientific information. Please read up on distinguishing pseudoscience from science. There is quite a difference.

I worked for a couple as a live in housekeeper in the valley part of LA. The people were world travelers and gone alot. I lived in the guest house and one Sunday afternoon I was making a sandwich and wanted some mayonaise so I went into the main house. As soon as I crossed into the doorway something got right up behind me and it made the hairs stand up on my neck, I was scared. I went to their refridgerator and got some mayonaise and walked back to the door. This creepy feeling was still directly behind me. I stepped outside, looked back in and announced outloud to nobody, "Leave me alone!"

In the main house was a foyer surrounded by all glass with a small garden just inside the entry door. When I would be cleaning this part of the house I always noticed a moving reflection of light on the glass that wasn't mine. I hadn't been there more than 4 months when the owners went on a 3 month tour of Europe. I was invited to have guests stay in the main house during their absence.

My younger brother was about 20yrs old and came to stay for a couple of weeks. I had another job and left him to his own all day. One night he looked quite startled and asked if I had been home during the day and I said no. He told me he was playing with the piano when an icy hand firmly grabbed his shoulder and it frightened him. His logical mind told him it was me playing a trick on him, trying to scare him. I told him what had happened to me when I was first here. We agreed there was a ghost in the house.

Over the 8 years I worked for this couple, I had numerous friends stay and they all experience some paranormal activity, though I never asked, they all told me stories. It was nothing harmful. This one friend in particular was over for the evening and he asked if there was someone else in the house and I said just the cat. He told me he knew there was someone else in the house and his name was George and he had been a stage coach driver who was crossing the scared mountains of the Native Americans and was shot in the chest with an arrow and had died on the property. I said that sometimes I would see a slight vision reflection in the glass foyer of a blond haired guy with a scraggly beard and heavy mustache with a hat that was pinned up in front like on the TV series "F TROOP" . My friend said that was who was in his mind.

We all weren't just having psychic problems, it wasn't all in our belief systems. It was real. I never told any of my visitors anything first, they all told me after they had experienced something while staying there.

Notice how everyone thinks they're the reincarnation of someone famous? Why wasn't anyone, EVER, in their past life a servant that emptied the chamber pots? Or when they were a potato farmer... or a butcher... or something else rather unremarkable?

I understand people may think pictures of ghosts are amazing and there may be similarities in someone who is dead and someone who is living. hoever there is no such thing as reincarnation or ghosts, and I have indeed lived in a haunted house. So i have experienced it myself. If anyone read the Bible, these ansers are logically answered. It is common sense that death is the opposite of life. When you die you are consious of nothing. You are 'sleeping' or 'at rest'. So it is clear that you do not have a soul that comes out of your body and continues to live on. The brain controls our entire body and when the brain dies, and our body dies, we die, that's it! Heaven exists but we will go there until Judgement day, hence the resurrection at "the end". On the flipside, Demons do exist as I think many Catholics and others would agree. Demons take many forms and even have different personalities like people do, since they used to be in fact Angels. Remember they had to choose sides as Satan rebelled against God. Angels who rebelled became Demons who were hurled out of Heaven down to Earth to rule, since they think they can do better than God can as Ruler. that is why the world is the way it is, Satan is having his chance, but day God will say 'enough' and the end will come hence the resurection and judgement and the new Heaven and Earth will be created. All that is bad will cease to exist. The mere ideas of ghosts and Hell, reincarnation, spirits who live among the living are all lies from Satan to distract people from the truth, from God, and look how well it has worked. After all, he was able to decieve Eve and Adam.
