I also advise people to go to google video, type in "Zeitgeist, The Movie | Final Edition : PART 3 - Serbian" in the search box and watch this video. I too concur with libertyordeath101. It is time for people to take back their lives, wake up from the "Matrix" that the Central Bank is trying to enslave us in.

I totally agree! Since a national central bank hasn't been working so well, we should make a WORLD bank. Everything would be better if we would just give governments more power.

    /sarcasm

I agree with your point, but it's not my government I'm afraid of. It's the money manipulators who bribe my government. i.e.... wall street

Shrubble, your comments are naive. You are parroting without thinking.

In the last 150 years, human beings have done extraordinary things. Precisely because their governments were very good (where they weren't things stagnated).

Stop repeating ideology. And open your eyes. Government has worked very, very, very well.

Maybe you need go live in Haiti for a while to think about it.

Wait a minute. The USA and France stuck their noses in Haiti business by forcibly removing President Jean Bertrand Aristide, which had been elected by the people of Haiti. By removing Haiti's legitimate Government the US created conditions of chaos and bloodshed. The USA always causes trouble in other countries, look around the world. Divide and conquer. Create chaos and then offer a solution being the savior to all. Who are the real terrorists ?

The latter half of the 20th century the US has stuck it's nose in other people's business in the name of "order" or "universal democracy." Those are kind words saying, "New World Order" and "universal control." Iraq, Iran.... the list keeps going.

This article is about as ignorant as they come. A national central bank in the US didn't stop the financial collapses in the US - the Federal Reserve Bank has struck out three times in the US. What makes anyone think that the World Bank can do any better globally? Haven't Alan Greenspan and the Feds been accused of inventing the derivatives that sank the economy? As long as the money power rests in the hands of a private bank like the Federal Reserve, and is controlled by a few men who are unelected and chosen to be on the board due to their economic wealth, whose interests do you think they have at heart? Theirs or ours? I can't believe anyone could be so manipulated into thinking if we give someone else our money, they'll do what's best for us with it. The economy could be an easy fix - make the Federal Reserve a government agency so it has the nation's interests in mind.

Basically everything that this article says we should do, we know we need to do the complete opposite - Globalist NWO gumph like this is a danger to every free thinking individual around the globe...

Sorry Jeffrey, I didn't even realise that you worked with Henry Kissinger, no Im sure he's a lovely guy, and not the economical shock therapist he's portrayed to be, I mean there are so many um good things he's done, I'm sure he had nothing at all with to do with Salvador Allende's death, installing Pinochet, and funding the Indonesians to massacre the people in East Timor to name but a few, he just gets bad press I'm sure, I am sure he is an illuminating chap to be around...

  • Posted By: Keir36 @ 01/21/2009 10:50:07 AM

Yeah, just have one bank, and one president, and one currency and one religion, perhaps Kissinger's right out of this crisis a new world order can be created and we'll all live in peace and harmony, well those of us left alive, well the ultra rich, so not us at all then, um probably not such a great idea after all

Below is the Federal Reserve's mission as stated on their web site. Please read and ask if it has ever lacked the capabilty to execute the duties it was entrusted with by Congress. Then ask how much better a "world" bank would fare in keeping to the moral high road? Especially when its given the power of controlling the currency of every... single... nation. Forever. Mr. Garten's proposal reminds me of Mr. Greenspan's endorsement of credit derivatives and his later shock that they had been abused because the financial sector had not acted "honorably". I'm not sure if being a naive idiot is a prerequisite for being an economist but if it is they need to take it off the curriculum.

    FEDERAL RESERVE MISSION - http://www.federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/mission.htm

1, conducting the nation's monetary policy by influencing the monetary and credit conditions in the economy in pursuit of maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates
    2. supervising and regulating banking institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of the nation's banking and financial system and to protect the credit rights of consumers
    3. maintaining the stability of the financial system and containing systemic risk that may arise in financial markets
    4. providing financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions, including playing a major role in operating the nation's payments system

I advise people to go to google video, type in "the money masters" in the search box and watch that video. This is exactly how the money masters are trying to sell the people a global fascist dictatorship disguised to be in "the best interest" of the people. You better see it for what it is, because this thing is the death of liberties and the end result is global enslavement.

    tdnoo24 - Parroting without thinking? That's rich.

You are right, human beings have done good things. In spite of their governments, not because of them. And for every good thing a government has done in the last 150 years, I can name something every bit as destructive, so the point is moot anyway.

And yes, government has, in very specific places and circumstances, performed very well. And they all eventually evolve into machines that exist only to further their own existence, your example of Haiti only illustrates that point. Do you think I'm advocating anarchy? I'm not. Are you advocating a world government? Does that somehow make sense to you? How would you feel about UN Peacekeepers being deployed in Los Angeles?

Poster robilar5500 is correct about the middle class being toast. Our government sticks its nose into everything and attempts to mitigate the inherent risks of being alive, and in the process robs people of their ability to take care of themselves. What do you expect from a group of people whose full-time job it is to pass laws?

My original comment stands: Why do we accept this?

  • Posted By: robilar5500 @ 10/29/2008 8:33:34 AM

this is clearly the direction our gov't hopes to lead us in...the federal reserve is already in violation of the sherman anti-trust laws, and is controlled by the same families who also own the national banks across the globe...the middle class was the only thing standing in the way, and now they're essentially non-existent...some conspiracies, such as the one-world bank system have been operating for decades and more...wake the f..k up people!

  • Posted By: shrubble @ 10/28/2008 2:51:14 PM

A "Global" Central Bank. That is scary.

Wouldn't it be great if we had some sort of, oh, I don't know... scarce, inert material that was cleanly divisible, impossible to counterfeit and a highly portable store of wealth that would be recognized in any country on the planet?

Oh, I forgot, that's a barbarous relic, because you're only allowed to SPEND WHAT YOU HAVE. I have a question: When the International Central Bank is creating trillions of "dollars" out of thin air, whose liability is it going to be? The Martians?

This is great, guys, let's have one world government (because who ever has the money has the power, period.), so that if you're not happy where you are, you're stuck, because it's the same everywhere! Because we all know that the highly skilled and efficient (LOL!!!) governments of the world have to unite and save us from ourselves, we're far too stupid to handle problems with our own feeble minds.

Why do we accept what these people (politicians) are doing to us? Does it really matter who wins the election? HAS IT EVER MATTERED?

A lot of organizations should have foreseen the current fiscal crisis. One more organization that should be able to see such crises is unneeded. A global bank would be highly unwieldy, if the functioning of the United Nations is any indication. A global bank would not have the resources to oversee global markets; either it would view a few countries well or all countries poorly.

Who is responsible for our present financial trouble? Well let us go back to early 1900. And I am here referring to the banker J P Morgan whose name has recently been on everybody???s mind throughout the world. Morgan???s wry comment at a chance meeting and conversation 1914 starting with Morgan mentioning the financial crisis in 1907 when he was also called to court to answer questions about the crisis which probably was an attempt by the incumbent President to curtail the reckless monopole attempts by Messrs Vanderbilt, J D Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, J Pierpont Morgan et al. Than he stated that within short all gold in the world was to be owned by Americans. On query what solution Morgan would suggest to replace the gold standard the old banker replied that he had given it a lot of thoughts and proposed a world bank from which countries could draw credits based on each their wealth. Commenting that countries would not accept infringement on their sovereignty to print bills the banker replied.
??? ???Ah, they will have to accept what we decide for them???. In fact since the Second World War when the World Bank was formed and USA insisting on appointing its President and since that time the countries of the world have been told from Washington what to do and not and forced to introduce legislation that have often extremely hurt the inhabitants from Argentina to Philippines but aimed at safeguarding repayments of the US financed state loans. In other words the Morgan concept has been implemented. The present President being Mr. Zoellick who have worked as Vice Chairman, Goldman Sachs Group and served as an Executive Vice President of Fannie Mae where he supervised the ??? affordable housing business???. He has also been working in the State Department as Trade Representative where he forged an activist approach to free trade at global level and travelled around the world to guide governments what trade action to take or not.. This person no doubt is qualified to stoke a fire when he sees one.

Jeffrey Garten is correct that a Global Central Bank is needed in today's globalized financial world, and that the upcoming 15 November conference should initiate the planning for such a bank. In addition, the conferees should formally initiate research and planning for a Single Global Currency, managed by that Global Central Bank within a Global Monetary Union.
The current global financial turmoil did not begin with a currency crisis, but currency risk is part of the resulting instability and the Iceland krona may not be the only currency to fail.
The most important goal of the 1944 Bretton Woods conference was global monetary and currency stability and pegging the U.S. dollar to gold and other currencies to the dollar was the chosen method.
Monetary and currency stability is the primary goal of the International Monetary Fund. The world need not move from one country's or one region's currency to another as THE #1 currency, but
should transition to a Single Global Currency. The message communicated by the success of the euro is not that the euro is the future #1, but that monetary union is the best way to ensure monetary stability. If 16 countries can use the same currency, why not 192? The only problem with the euro's stability today is that it exists in a multicurrency world.
The world should begin planning now for a Single Global Currency. In addition to eliminating the risks currency fluctuations and failure, the use of a Single Global Currency would eliminate the current foreign exchange trading expense of $400 billion annually and that money could be used other more important goals.
The Single Global Currency Assn. promotes the implementation of a Single Global Currency by 2024, the 80th anniversary of the 1944 conference. That's only 16 years away. The Assn's website is
www.singleglobalcurrency.org. See, also, my book, "The Single Global Currency - Common Cents for the World."

This is a horrible concept that will bring gut-wrenching poverty upon our world (yes, even more!). To the Author - if you mind is still open, try reading Murray Rothbard's What Has the Government Done with our Money? which is available for free as a pdf online. or access it from below. Nothing wrong with publishing your ideas, I wonder why Newsweek does not wish to publish mine?

Fascinating concept. However it is doomed because the US will what it always does and ignor any direction given to it by any global institution not conrolled by it.
