    The problem with the McCain campaign is that they have no positive, productive message of their own, no specific policies for improving the economy that differ from those of GWB, no solutions for improving America's standing among foreign nations, no significant platform whatsoever. He is a one-trick pony pushing his vague concept of being a "reformer" and a "maverick".

    As a result, he has relied on negative attack ads and speeches from the get-go. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and McCain is a desperate man whose blind ambitions have clouded any sense of judgement, fairplay, and code of ethics. (Palin, on the other hand, never had a code of ethics--only a holier-than-thou sense of morality.)

    McCain and Palin have regressed from "gutter politics" to "sewer politics".

    Tony Rezko, a Syrian-born political fundraiser and businessman, convicted on several counts of fraud and bribery, was a client of Davis???s law firm (where Obama worked). This firm helped Rezko to win government grants to build low-income housing for the poor. Before this, Rezko worked for Jabir Muhammad, son of the late Nation of Islam leader, Ellijah Muhammad.
    Obama, being a state senator, represented a district that included 11 of Rezko's 30 low-income housing projects. In October 1998, Obama wrote city and state officials, urging them to give Rezko $14 million (including $855,000 in "development fees" for Rezko and for Allison Davis, Obama???s ex-boss) to build an apartment complex outside of Obama's state Senate district.
    Rezko had partnership with Iraqi-born business billionaire Nadhmi Auchi: $130.5 million massive 2005 real estate development project on Chicago's South Loop. Auchi is known for his numerous deals with S. Hussein's regime, involvement in the UN Oil-For-Food scandal, and conviction of fraud. He received 15 month suspended sentence and was fined £1.5m for taking illegal payments from French oil company Elf Aquitaine. Auchi bought about 15 of Rezko's pizzerias in Wisconsin. Rezko owed to Auchi???s GMH by June 2007 $27.9 million. Auchi set up a variety of deals with Saddam Hussein's regime, was involved in the UN Oil-For-Food scandal. In 2003, Auchi was convicted of fraud, and given a 15 month suspended sentence and a £1.5m fine for taking illegal payments from French oil company Elf Aquitaine.
    In 2004 Auchi visited Illinois, where at party at Rezko???s residence he met with Obama. Auchi's company loaned Tony Rezko $3.5 million in April 2005. 3 weeks later Obama purchased a new home for $1.65 million -- $300,000 below the asking price. Rezko's wife paid $625,000 for the adjacent vacant lot. A Panamanian company Fintrade Services (among which directors is Auchi???s wife) lent money to a fundraiser for Obama in 2005.

    John McCain is going to regret this because with just over a week to go, he has shown the he's willing to shove aside the problems facing the American people just so that he can further his apparently self centered ambition of becoming President.

      McCain remains true to discussing the real issues that face America, one of which exposes a terrorist that is a threat to the safety of the American people. How anyone in their right mind can find fault with that is beyond any comprehensive reasoning.

    It's not happening guys, even if the media was a little biased in its polls, I am sure Obama would still have some lead over McCain in reality. It's fun to watch you all embarrass yourselves. In two weeks, Barack Hussein Obama will have taken the title of ???President.???

        Your ignorance is absolutely mind-boggling. There are many reasons one could give for voting for McCain and not for Obama. But he is not anti-white; he is not a Muslim (but it would be OK if he were); he shouldn't have been involved in buying a strip of land from Rezco when he was under investigation (even he says it was boneheaded). His birth certificate has already been authenticated. He was born in this country. He doesn't hang around with unrepentant terrorist Wm. Ayers. He served on committees with Professor Ayers who is an honored educator (who did bad things 40 years ago). McCain hangs out with war profiteers, Keating, G. Gordon Liddy who did much worse things than Ayers - even planning assassination - and served jail time for it.

        Gee, folks - did you spend all your time in Middle School shooting spitwads? Didn't you ever listen to your teachers explanations of the constitution, geography, and world affairs? Were you skipping class in high school, smoking in the lavatory and tagging the gym?

        The ignorance of the American populace as demonstrated on discussion boards is truly scary.

        So here you go: Read some books. Read "To Kill a Mockingbird," "All the Kings Men," and "The Ugly American." Read Obama's books - you'd learn a lot. Stop reading internet forwarded nonsense, and shut the talk radio stations off. You're stuffing your heads with crap.

    "Ohio officials are investigating whether government computer systems were illegally accessed to acquire personal information about "Joe the Plumber," The Columbus Dispatch reports.

    Public records requested by The Dispatch reveal information on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher's driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database.

    Information on Wurzelbacher was obtained on Oct. 17 through an account used by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency in Cleveland, The Dispatch reported records as showing.
    Access to such information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

    The Dispatch reported that information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department."

    John McCain is going to regret this. Tony Rezko was already brought up in the primary. This gave Obama a chance to show how honest and up frunt he was as a candidate. He admitted that buying the land while Rezko was being investigated was a mistake. Obama cut all ties with him when the facts of the case came out. All of Rezko's donations were given to charity as soon as they were discovered.

    The problem for John McCain is that he has not been vetted to the level Barack has been vetted. Barack came clean about this and admitted that it was a mistake to buy that piece of land while Rezko was being investigated (Rezko had not yet been convicted). Barack cut ties with Rezko when the facts of this case came out. Every time a Rezko donation emerged, the Obama campaign gave the equivalent to charity.

    Obama in this video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other Community Activist's organizations. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President and pledge to meet with leaders of Acorn and the others present at the convention in his first year, Obama says, quote:

    "Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

    Republicans don't seem to get it... this is not the year of smear campaign. Americans are mad that RNC smear machine got dumb president Bush into office. See where we are today. Americans are looking for substance not smear. Poor McCain; he bought into his campaign managers??? shortsightedness... They should have learnt a BIG lesson from democratic primaries...that smear was out...substance was in. In any case McCain should continue his suicide strategy; the more he smeared the more he sunk in polls. Too bad; Republicans do not know how to run clean, substance-based campaign.

    Let continue with the negative attacks. They have served the McCain/Palin campaign well so far. Last week wasn't so bad. They only lost Colin Powell and the relatives of Barry Goldwater. Where was Goldwater from? ARIZONA!

    A little aside, I remember when Barry Goldwater ran he had a very cool campaign button. It said AUH2O.

    McCain is really a slimey one. Can you image him in possession of the Nuclear Weapons code? This is a guy who doesn't know what he's doing from minute to minute. A person who would have us waging war in so many corners of the world while the Russians picked off countries one by one and Iran and Syria erased Israel. We'll be too busy defending so many front that it would be impossible to defend our allies.
