First of all, in the name of all those who are contributing to this film, I would like to
thank you for the
interest you have shown in our project. In a way, this film is the story of the over 40
million
Kurds living in the world. My aim with this project is to leave the new generation and the
world an example of the cultural heritage of humankind, as well as telling the world our
history and culture in the language of cinema.
To make such a film in Turkey is very important, particularly if one looks at the films
made about Kurds up to date. Up to now no historical or cultural films have been made in
this
country, and as a Kurd I have been trying to make the ???Brukan??? film happen for the last
two
years in order to fill this gap. During this time I met with several actors and firms
interested in partnerships. However, our aims always clashed. These people only approached
the project with financial gains in mind. Their attitude made me feel more protective about
my project.
I have been looking for partners who would embrace this project and have met with
people in several European countries. But I have to say that I have been touched most by
your interest and suggestions. In addition, our shared roots have honoured me. Personally, I
am not interested in how much ???profit??? I am going to make. But I wish with all my heart
that
my friends who support the project benefit financially and otherwise. My only stipulation is
that I want to put aside 3% for educational projects. Agreeing on the rest should be very
easy. I see you as a companion and together with you I would like to realise the ???Brukan???
film, which will introduce our culture and history to the world. I sincerely believe that by
working together we will make a film that will target world cinema.
We have written the story of the project, but of course there are shortcomings. A
written scenario or story is not absolutely necessary and, working together, we can develop
both. I believe that with this project we can develop an international film that becomes our
culture and history. I am sure that in the following stages we will collaborate in agreement
and make up the shortcomings of the project. The biggest problem of the project is its
funding, but I am sure that with your collaboration and support we will overcome this
problem.
I would like to reiterate that I would like to collaborate with you on the ???Brukan???
project from the bottom of my heart and I invite you to work with me on an international
project. May this film be a valuable creation to leave to the next generation.

Obama begin with ACORN by funneling millions into their organization. He then trained ACORN to stage protests in banks to force them to issue risky loans or they would be threatened to face racial charges. ACORN was trained to intimidate financial institutions into giving ???Ninja??? loans to people with NO assets, NO job and NO income, who couldn???t afford these loans.

That caused the housing bubble two years ago it was by ACORN's actions they were able to destroy our credit system.

As this played out, D-Barney Frank and D-Chris Dodd were able to cover up the millions of improvident loans to these bad risky house buyers. And Barney Frank and his chums successfully were able to block all of President Bush's attempts to put a rein on this problem.

So Fannie & Freddie was forced to purchase all these failed subprime mortgages.

Then both Frank and Dodd denied that there were any problems, and refused the Bush Admin. requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and they were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting sub-prime mortgage loans almost up to the 'minute they failed'.

Democrats then blamed Bush saying it happened on his watch knowing it would hurt the Republican Party in the election setting it up that Barack Obama could use this to his advantage.

"billtill": Here's my quick effort at your question for a better explanation of the differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Bush abdicated our national energy policy to be run by secret meetings between Dick Cheney and the oil companies.

Bush disregarded his experienced military and diplomatic advisers, and abdicated Iraq to his NeoCons who mesmerized themselves and him with their ideology and fantasies about what would be the outcome.

McCarthyism is a uniquely republican practice.

A republican characteristic is to accuse any person who does not agree with them as: Socialist, unAmerican, antiAmerican, unpatriotic, "Godless" whatever, ad nauseam.

McCain said lobbyists were what is wrong with Washington, and he promised to root them out. Then he got behind and he took on the Bushies to run his campaign, and hired Rick Davis to be his campaign manager. Davis took many millions in lobbyist fees to lobby Rs, only, to prevent regulation while the Rs allowed the big money funds to loot trillions from our economy.

But here's what drove me from a recent McCain supporter and solid McC vote, who's never voted for a Dem in 40 years, is that since McC sold out to the rightwing, the Rs have run the most organized and prolific smear, hate, disinformation propaganda machine I have ever seen.

So, as best I can tell about the last 8 years, and this campaign especially, is that Dems don't try to win elections with smears like: he's a Socialist, unAmerican, antiAmerican, a terrorist, an Arab, a Muslim, numerous fabricated quotes purportedly from his books, his birth certificate is forged, and on ad nauseum.

I'm tired of the "Redistribution" to the megarich, oil companies and Haliburton. But I'm afraid of the Republican propaganda machine and the obvious belief that the end justifies the means.

In response to Billtill, a very amusing and effective annecdote is still just that; an annecdote. It oversimplifies the differences between the two parties to the extent that both parties want success for the country. No one could argue contrary to that and still sound reasonably objective. The difference is how we get there. Is it fair to give tax cuts to those who work hard, but for whatever reason have been blessed with a skill set that has a higher value in our society? Their hard work is already well compensated. CEOs in many cases are well trained leaders, successful small business people had the analytical ability to see a demand and drive to fill it. Athletes and movie stars have talents and/or physical attributes we all strive to emulate. They are all well paid for the gifts they have.

What about those who aren't so fortunate? Those who just emigrated here? Those who settled for lower paying jobs they could get quickly with the hope of paying for their children's future? Those who were placed in less qualified schools and didn't get the fair end of the deal in where they grew up, etc? Your anecdote says they just "don't work as hard." I personally do better than many; I'm not in the top tax bracket, but I'm in the upper echelons of the second bracket. However, I also understand that paying a few extra dollars to ensure others have similar opportunities my parents sacrificed for is part of what makes this country so great. George W. Bush's presidency has been 8 years of a "Me-First" tone being passed down from the top. His patent disregard for personal liberties under the guise of protection, his blatant disregard for balance in Supreme Court nominees, Guantanamo Bay - which is the embodiement of "do as I say, not as I do." The list goes on, and on, and on... Ultimately, that mind-set is what led to the greed the author of this article & Ron Suskind refer to; a greed that has led not only to our financial collapse, but also a collapse in our global standing.
