    Yes, if you believe the end of the world is near because Obama is our new president, you really should consider moving to Alaska to join the simple life.

    The Wall Street crisis was planned the night of Obama's meeting at Bill Ayres home to put Obama in The White House. Together they put a beautiful plan into place.

    This Strategy was first elucidated in the 1966 issue of 'The Nation' Magazine by a pair of radical Socialist Columbia University professors, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven.

    David Horowitz summarizes it as:

    "The strategy of forcing political change through an orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of Capitalism by overloading the Government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

    Obama begin with ACORN by funneling millions into their organization. He then trained ACORN to stage protests in banks to force them to issue risky loans or they would be threatened to face racial charges. ACORN was trained to intimidate financial institutions into giving ???Ninja??? loans to people with NO assets, NO job and NO income, who couldn???t afford these loans.

    That caused the housing bubble two years ago it was by ACORN's actions they were able to destroy our credit system.

    As this played out, D-Barney Frank and D-Chris Dodd were able to cover up the millions of improvident loans to these bad risky house buyers. And Barney Frank and his chums successfully were able to block all of President Bush's attempts to put a rein on this problem.

    So Fannie & Freddie was forced to purchase all these failed subprime mortgages.

    Then both Frank and Dodd denied that there were any problems, and refused the Bush Admin. requests to set up a regulatory agency to watch over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and they were still pushing for these agencies to go even further in promoting sub-prime mortgage loans almost up to the 'minute they failed'.

    Democrats then blamed Bush saying it happened on his watch knowing it would hurt the Republican Party in the election setting it up that Barack Obama could use this to his advantage.

    Karl Marx once compared a Revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface.

    Obama taped conversation with San Francisco Chronicle states his policies ???will bankrupt coal mining operations that produce gas emissions in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina
    which it will cause energy prices to skyrocket....." .....more info nobody knew until now about what Obama wants to do!!

    I've lived here in alaska for 25 years and didn't vote for Palin/Stevens. I knew years ago that he was corrupt but no one cared or would listen. Ted is responsable for those federal no-bid contracts that is suppose to support native small business- but guess what ..it is a billion dollar coorporation run by his friends. No-bid means that no one is allowed to challenge thier right to that job, even if theire quote is overpriced and lacking quality..and hurts honest, real small businessmen as well as other minorities.. Also, try to be any other color and apply for a job in these coorporations. The upper jobs are reserved for white "boys club members" all the lower jobs say "native preference" that means they have legislated the right to discriminate. This whole state is run on what we alaskans like to call "The Boys Club" it's kinda like The Skulls only greedier and meaner- and of course run by middle-age white men. The working class (not in the boys club) in alaska doesnt have it as easy as you think- our gas and apartment prices are the highest in the nation yet we make minimum wage and only the rich and the natives(who get free health care) can afford to go to the doctor. Plus it' s cold!!! so our energy bills can be upwards 1000 a month in the winter. I want equal pay, fairness and access to medical care for all americans. Whomever you choose i hope you will have access to these things in the future as well.

      I lived in Alaska and I never paid more than $100 a month for energy. I don't know where you live but I had three power sources (as did many of my neighbors): 1) wood, 2) gas, 3) electric. I didn't vote republican either, though many of my neighbors did. I was a teacher and found that I had more than enough money to meet my needs and to help out those who needed extra help. I will absolutely agree with you, however, that this was one of the most corrupt places I have ever lived. I absolutely take humbrage with your issues with "free" native healthcare though. After all that whites have done to indigenous peoples, I'd say that healthcare is one of the least things we could provide. However, if you would look into the funding of the native hospital in Anchorage, you might find that the funding formula for that hospital is a bit more complicated than you make it out to be.

    Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

    Two central issues in the election Barack Obama is wrong and misleading:

    1) No tax increases to those earning $250,000 or less promised by Obama, then he
    lowered this figure to $200,000, then the "Gift that keeps on Giving" Joe Biden says
    the number is $150,000 and just yesterday Gov. Bill Richardson says the figure is
    $120,000 ...and now a videotape is disclosed where it shows Obama recently stated
    that in the interest of fairness with taxes is around $80,000.00!!
    Sounds like good old fashion Democratic ???reverse auction ???tax policy they implement
    after they break their campaign promise to the American people.

    2) On national security ...Obama???s own VP running mate Joe Biden ... ???mark my words,
    this guy Obama is going to be tested by a generated international crisis within 6
    months of his Presidency..I guarantee it??? Obama will meet with USA's enemies with
    no pre-conditions!
    John McCain???s surge strategy in Iraq is working and its saving the lives of young
    American men and women in uniform serving there...Obama won't admit to this day
    the surge is working and he voted to cut funding for these military forces !!

    John McCain is Commander-In-Chief material ....Obama is just a cardboard "cut-out"
    candidate of the DNC.

    Honestly, looking at McCain and Obama objectively (without any party affiliation or any racism) I really can't see why anybody would vote for McCain. Obama has offered a much more coherent plan to get America out of the economic disaster we are in.

    Right now, most people are anxious about the economy, fearing the worst but hoping for the best.

    Reality check: within 18 months YOU could be standing in a bread line. That's how bad it really is. And Obama will work actively to prevent this short term, as well as make us strong again long term. As much as I like McCain and admire his patriotism, he really is not up for the job, not now with the global markets falling apart.

    Lori says that Newsweek is somehow suppressing her free speech. What Lori fails to see is that Newsweek allowed her to air her vituperative, hate-filled lies as much and as often as she wanted. Given this latitude, Lori took her freedom way too far and started getting exceptionally nasty in her comments. For instance, her comments in which she accused me (a Catholic doctor who is anti-abortion) of being an abortionist who murders babies for money.

    Just for the record, Lori, I am not one of the people who reported you for being abusive. However, I fully support anyone who did report you. You are abusive. And if Newsweek removed ALL of your comments (instead of just the abusive ones) I think that represents the fact that they don't have the time (or the stomach) to wade through the vile garbage you write. They just erased them all, and not just the ones on the Mattel article. I noticed yesterday that some of your nastier comments of last week had disappeared on several articles.

    What amazes me is that they didn't suspend your posting privileges all together. My advice to you is that you mind your manners from now on. Start writing blogs in PRAISE of McCain, instead of nasty lie-filled attacks against Obama supporters. Could you turn over a new leaf and become a positive person? Could your write blogs in which you discuss McCain's strengths and talk about why you think his policy plans are right for America? If you do this, I promise to praise you and treat you with respect.

        Hi, BassPro. Thanks for asking and being supportive, but I think that Lori is gone for good. I haven't seen any posts from her in 2 days, and her recent stuff from two days ago also got erased.

        I do feel bad for her. She has strong emotions about abortion. She's been duped by the BAIPA propaganda, and takes it all very personally. I do hope that she finds a way to become happy.

    The Clinton tax plan got us out of deficit trouble after the Reagan years. And Clinton created twice as much wealth and growth for the country. With the Clinton tax plan, jobs increased by 22 million.

    McCain's tax plan is the same as the Bush's tax plan. There has been no growth. We have lost hundreds of thousands of jobs every month. A recession is not growth. However, Bush and McCain kept saying things were perfect...


    Obama's tax plan is similar to Clinton. Let's learn from the past. We know how to get out of deficit trouble because of the Clinton example. Obama has adobted the Clinton tax principals. We are 5 days away from ousting the hopeless Republicans. Let's teach them AGAIN how to balance a budget. Vote Obama!

      McCain was never ''convicted''of anything. Apart from the fact that there was never a trial involving McCain solely,he was found guiltless by the Democrat-majority Senate Ethics Commitee who only observed that McCain had exercised ''poor judgement''.This is not a ''conviction''however, as you dishonestly mantain. You thus have a right to opinion. You also have the right to have your ''facts''challenged.         Obama has not been investigated, accused nor convicted of any crime, unlike McCain and the Keating Five scandal. Add to that the 1964 alleged car crash McCain may have been involved in. We shall see what turns up.
