And lets not forget the Court, and decisioins like Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005).

What does redistributive mean. Well, remember that it was the liberal Left-Wing Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court that brought us this little jewel, holding that the government could take your real property, like your home, not for public use like a road or school, but to give to another private individual, such as a political contributor or other party hack or interest group. You remember this one.

Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005), was a case decided by the Supreme Court of the United States involving the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another to further economic development. The case arose from the condemnation by New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property so that it could be used as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan. The Court held in a 5-4 decision that the general benefits a community enjoyed from economic growth qualified such redevelopment plans as a permissible "public use" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote the majority opinion; he was joined by Justices Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.

The decision was widely criticized by American politicians and the general public. Many members of the general public viewed the outcome as a gross violation of property rights and as a misinterpretation of the Fifth Amendment, the consequence of which would be to benefit large corporations at the expense of individual homeowners and local communities. Some in the legal profession construe the public's outrage as being directed not at the interpretation of legal principles involved in the case, but at the broad moral principles of the general outcome.

It is very unfortunate that every time someone disagrees with, doesn't vote for, or looks crosseyed at a minority, they are racist. Last week, a white women was attacked by a black man at an ATM, and when he saw that she had a McCain bumber sticker, he carved a "B" on her forehead. Why isn't that racist, and even a hate crime? Minorties have an equal record of being racist, yet there aren't any outcrys for racisism, or penalties: Obama calling his grandmother a 'typical white person' Mayor Negon (New Orleans) wants to keep New Orleans Chocolate. Can you imagine if the situation were reversed and a white person said that? There would be demands for resignations, etc. etc. The result has to be the same for eveyone, or there will always be a racial devide, and this topic will be a forefront 100 years from now. So if Obama wins, you won't be able to ask any tough questions, disgagree with him, challenge him, etc. without being racist, or even worse, have your life turned upside down....hmmmm....sounds like a dictatorship.

She's since admitted she falsified her report, that she inflicted the damage on herself and has been charged with filing a false report and remanded to a mental health hospital (is there a cure for rampant republicanism? Or does being a republican cause mental health issues?) It seems she was hoping to create just what you're saying, a ridiculous race issue... a last ditch hope to win over some voters ... instead, she, like palin, have actually hurt McCain's campaign rather than help it.

Again, more double standards. First, I concur that she got what she deserved. Howver, tHe black lady, that cost Duke LaCrosse players their scholarships, and the coach his job, what was her punishment? Unless racism is something that acknowleged in both directions, it will never be fixed, and there will be discussions like this 100 years from now. Why wasn't mayor Negon asked to resign after his racist comments about keeping New Orleans chocolate?? If A white mayor said "I want to keep my city white, wow the outcry would be deafening. Clearly double standards that are not being addressed, which is doing nothing but aggrevating race relations. Either it's racist, with the outcome/punishment or whatever, the same for everyone, or nothing is racist. Until that is acknowleged, it will never be fixed.

        • Posted By: Conservative-Liberal @ 11/03/2008 7:45:22 AM

Ummm ... ok ... no argument on the need for racial equality on both sides of the coin ... but your original comment was one to develop more racism based on a fraudulent claim by a mentally unstable person, not on anything that was actually said or done. Your points in your second comment are valid, but really have no bearing on your first comment nor the election. It's akin to saying "Apples are red, red and yellow make orange, so oranges taste like apples."

ABC Reports that in a conservative radio interview that aired in Washington, D.C. Friday morning, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said her First Amendment rights are threatened by reporters suggesting she is engaging in a negative campaigning against Barack Obama.

Palin told WMAL-AM that for reporters or columnists to suggest that she is going negative constitutes an attack on her free speech rights under the Constitution, saying -If the media convince enough voters that this is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations, then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media.-

If I hadnt heard her butcher the Constitution numerous times already, I might not have believed it!

    • Posted By: Conservative-Liberal @ 11/03/2008 7:27:14 AM

Why wouldn't she butcher it? She's with two parties that want to ignore it ... gw's been butchering it for the last seven years and the Alaskan Independent Party was founded by a man who said "I have no use for the American government." Go to the link I posted below for Dexter Clark's speech, listen to it ... at one point he tells members to join whatever party necessary to get elected as a means to infiltrate and bring down our country ... he also briefly makes mention of their belief that the US "assassinated" their founder, they still refuse to admit he was murdered in an illegal explosives deal. This is Palin's real political party, an anti-American group bent on doing far worse than the Weather Underground did. I'm not saying the W.U. was anything worthwhile nor am I condoning their actions, I'm saying that by voting for Palin, you're setting our country up for something far worse than a bomb ever could. I hope on Nov. 5th, Sen. McCain kicks someone's ass for putting her with him.

I think this story doesn't begin to explain the dangerous nature of Palin's beliefs, which, unlike Obama's, have never been scrutinized or addressed by the media. Here's a terrifying article from the Huffington Post. This is not an urban legend, folks:

Why is everyone all of sudden so worried about Palin's religion? It should be Michelle Obama you should worry about. For years she's listened to a man preach about hated for other races than her own. At least the church Palin attends doesn't spew that kind of hate.

    • Posted By: Conservative-Liberal @ 11/03/2008 6:55:41 AM

That's right ... they don't hate anyone based on their race ... only on their faith ... if you're not a member of their church, you're nothing. I'm sure any Christian knows The prayer says "Thy will be done..." not "my will be done..."
And, assuming she helps McCain lose, I still can't wait to hear what she has to say regarding her claim "On Nov 5th, America will see God's will done and the right person is in the White House"

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama's case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that trend, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing economic and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

It's interesting that two gay men hung an effigy of Sarah Palin and burned an effigy of John McCain at their home in West Hollywood. Were they trying to perform some voodoo ceremony against witches? They called it an Halloween joke. Interesting because they no doubt are opposing proposition 8, the proposition to define marriage between persons of the opposite sex in California. While religious people may say things that seem strange, these men have acted out their opinions to a strange extreme. There is a smugness that they expressed that they were within their 'rights'.

This article uses witches as a word that has no meaning, an expression of fantasy by kooks. There are numerous people here in the LA area who claim to be witches. They have reputations and they have rights. How strange that the authors can't seem to connect witchcraft to any contemporary events or people in the world. I'm sure there is a well developed idea of witches in Africa. Why didn't the authors feel a need to explore that? Wicca is a recognized religion and the antithesis of Christianity. While most Christians rarely engage in discussions about witches, they are a part of our culture in the United States. If everybody who discusses witches is a kook, then there are far more kooks in America than this article acknowledges.

What office are they running for?

And they were. Interesting, this apparent contempt for rights.

"This article uses witches as a word that has no meaning, an expression of fantasy by kooks. There are numerous people here in the LA area who claim to be witches."

So you want a VP that has the same mental acuity of people who base their religious beliefs on "Charmed"?

"They have reputations and they have rights. How strange that the authors can't seem to connect witchcraft to any contemporary events or people in the world. I'm sure there is a well developed idea of witches in Africa."

Yeah, that's where that witch hunter monster that Palin loves came from. He built his reputation destroying peoples' lives, and Palin thinks he walks on water.

"Why didn't the authors feel a need to explore that?"

Because Palin isn't running for the vice presidency of Kenya, presumably.

    Father/daughter talk...
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words, redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.
He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?" She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."
Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican party."
If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between Republican and Democrat I'm all ears.

This is a cute anecdote. I'm actually the daughter (not literally from the story, but same circumstances). I have a stanch Republican dad, and a 4.0 in college.

The fallacy of this as a metaphor, it the assumption that people make less money because they party all the time and can't bother to show up to work. I would pose that another friend, lets call her "Sam." Sam, unlike "Audrey", works really hard in her classes and sacrifices social time to study, but still is having trouble getting good grades. In most college courses, professors go out of their way to help these students and even use their discretion to improve their grades a letter...

What is most troubling in todays political climate is the promotion of hatred as a philosophy. The emergence of an ultraconservative dogma relies increasingly on the encouragement of mass hostility aimed at one group in particular - Americans with progressive political views. Liberals are spoken of with the kind of dripping contempt and virulent hostility that used to be associated with racism and sectarian religious strife. Liberals are viewed not as fellow Americans citizens concerned with the future of their country, but as ideological enemies that need to be destroyed - and eaten if possible. This view is fundamentally anti-American.

This right-wing sect manifests a complete lack of empathy toward other Americans whom it defines as its ideological enemies. Its core beliefs are absolutely impervious to reason and are unleashing ugly and violent impulses. What makes their zeal so dangerous for our country is their willingness to do serious damage to our precious American Democracy in their quest for absolute power.

As a republican I want to be able to ask politicians fair and challanging questions. When Joe the Plumber asked Obama about his tax plan, he had democrats routing through his private life, and even OBAMA himself making sarcastic comments like: How many plumbers do you know that make $250K per year..., after he realized that he put his foot in his mouth with his 'spread the wealth around' comment. Well, I didn't realize that all business were one person businesses...which many are not. Who's to say that he wasn't going to hae one or two employees, etc. I realize that Obama believes that he's the "Chosen one" but seeing into the future is something that not even he can do. Most importanly we should be able to ask tough questions without the fear of persoonel attacks, our being permantely banned from future interviews.. Not the leadership we want or need.

For the well being of the nation , it is imperative that we be assured of Sarah Palin's spiritual health. Did the African Witch Doctor in fact cast out all of Sarah Palin's demons and/or evil spirits and/or inner witch. We must also be assured, for the security of the nation that John McCain and the Republican National Commitee have not been possessed . After all they could have their collective fingers on the nuclear button. A reasonable solution would be to have Sarah Palin quaranteed and examined by an evangelical faith healer, priest, rabbi, imam and a Native American Indian shaman. Dexter Clark, vice chairman of the Alaska Independence party confirming that Sarah Palin was once a member of the AIP. The clip is long, you can skip to 6:00 in to hear the reference to Palin.

"Our current governor, we mentioned at the last conference, the one we were hoping would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected. There's a joke, she's a pretty good looking gal, there's a joke goes around we're the coldest state with the hottest governor. And there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as a mayor of a small town -- that was a non-partisan job. But you get along to go along -- she eventually joined the Republican Party, where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics, and well, I won't go into that. She also had about an 80% approval rating, and is pretty well sympathetic to her former membership."

Clark goes on to talk about the need for AIP members to "infiltrate the major political parties".

For those of you who think defend Obama and call him being a "Christian too" - well, you know what, the Bible NEVER talks about black liberation theology in its 66 books. This philosophy only tries to use passages from the Bible to defend itself, but the real Bible is AGAINST such segregation. Yet Obama joined this church of Reverend Wright possibly mainly because he believes in black liberation. But if Obama were a true, practicing Christian, there are things that he says which a true Christian would not be able to utter, e.g. regarding other religions, other "gods," or this perpetuation of blacks being under the feet of whites. And of course, he wouldn't be supporting abortion, or fornication. He would also have better JUDGMENT when it comes to the people he's associated with.

The Bible doesn't speak white supremacy either ... actually, if you look at the maps and consider where Mary and Joseph came from before the census ... Jesus would've been, at the least, a very dark skinned Jew. It wasn't until the wealthy Europeans began printing the Bible that Jesus and God became "white."

    • Posted By: THE RAVEN @ 10/31/2008 1:05:39 PM

What "real" bible are you talking about? The one white slave owners used to justify slavery? Or the one whites used to justify committing genocide against the native people living here? Maybe it's the bible that so-called christians used to justify murdering and slaughtering non christians during the crusades. Or the real bible used during the witch trials, or the inquisition.
You sound like an idiot when you talk about what the real bible says or is against. The bible has been used for evil ever since it was written.

    • Posted By: Keegan9 @ 10/31/2008 11:37:31 AM

OK, this one is so bizarre and irrational that I'm not sure how to begin to reply to it, but I'll have a go anyway:

      1) You're confusing a doctrine of black economic and social liberation with black supremacy (just as racist as white supremacy, but the other way around). Not everyone who believes in ending racism in this country actually secretly believes in black supremacy. In fact, being against racism inherenty requires one to believe in the equality of the races, which would preclude the supremacy of ANY race over another. Perhaps you should take a good long look at why the idea of a black President who believes in racial equality is so threatening to you. Also, I should point out that since Obama quit going to that church, we can presume that he had a reason for leaving. Perhaps he found that their message was a bit too extreme for his own views.

      2) It would be kind of difficult for the Bible to mention a 20th century concept like black liberation, since the New Testament is a nearly 2000-year-old document, and the Old Testament is considerably older. Speaking of the Bible, it may not say anything about black liberation, but it does say quite a bit about slavery. It delineates pretty clearly who you can and cannot own, and who can or cannot be sold into slavery, and what would be a fair price. The Bible is a document that reflects the social and cultural attitudes of the time in which it was written (when slavery was legal and socially acceptable). Times (and social mores) change. The Bible may be your spiritual guide, but I'd rather it not be used to set public policy, thanks just the same.

      3) I confess that your comments about Obama not being a real Christian frankly scare me. What is your definition of a "real" Christian? Someone who believes exactly what you believe? With so many sects of Christianity available, it sounds like you might think lots of Christians aren't "real" Christians. And it isn't a big leap to go from talking about who is or is not a "real" Christian to talking about who is or is not a "real" American or a "real" person. The same line of non-logic has led to atrocities like the Holocaust in the past. Let's not go down that road again.

    See for yourselves at: http://richmonddemocrat.blogspot.com/2008/10/mccain-funded-rashid-khalidi.html

"Nowforthetruth", a little more "truth" about guilt by association....

"Nowforthetruth" also said: "Nins, all you prove is that you have perpetual PMS and cannot read. If you are as careless in your practice, you are a danger to your profession." You reveal too much of yourself "Nowforthetruth".

"Nowforthetruth" continues repasting that the cause of our problem is a law decades old that encourages loans to qualified low income people. "Nowforthetruth" continues to repeat well known deceit.

Alan Greenspan stated recently that the problem was not anything like that. Rather, he stated that an entire financial system was built outside of regulation, and "we trusted" these self-interested looters to regulate themselves. Credit Default Swaps were the result.

Credit Default Swaps increased from $106 trillion in '02 to $531 trillion under the R stewardship. No regulation.

While there are several variations of a viral email that tries to blame a few thousands of political donations to some Ds, the actual, legitimate news has reported that Fannie and Freddie paid many millions to Republican lobbyists to lobby Rs, only, to PREVENT REGULATION.

McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, received up to $35K/mo. from Fannie and Freddie from 2000 to present, to lobby Rs,only, against regulation. Freddie paid Rick Davis while he has been McC's campaign manager. Freddie donated $250k to the R convention.

These facts are everywhere in the legitimate news: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/22/us/politics/22mccain.html and http://www.newsweek.com/id/164732/page/1 There's much more legitimate news on this.

Trillions were looted from our economy because the Rs allowed it. It is inescapable that the Rs, most prominently McC's campaign manager, were in the pockets of big money while they drove the buss off the cliff with us in it.

You can try to distract people with fears about 'those guys'. Lies, distortion, deception. 'Socialist' is only the last in a long, now desperate, list of labels you have tried to pin on 'that one'. That's all you have left.

Is your most recent reposting here directed to fears about "Socialism", or is it just innuendo, or are we trying to fold in a little racism too?

Since we have no more ideas, let's keep running our campaign on fear, smears and hypocrisy.

Keep talking "Nowforthetruth", you're really helping. You keep demonstrating that we all have to vote against lies and propaganda and attempts to hijack our political process with deceit. Your actions are the kinds of reasons that I'm voting for Obama after 40 years of never havin

Study finds Media has Betray Trust of American People
    Newsweek Article:
Study: Media coverage has favored Obama campaign
Study finds comments on evening newscasts over the past two months favored the Obama campaign

"For whatever reason, the media are portraying Barack Obama as a better choice for president than John McCain," said Robert Lichter, a George Mason University professor and head of the center. "If you watch the evening news, you'd think you should vote for Obama."

"A former Newsweek reporter admitted in an article this week that he has no objectivity and imagined disabling Rudy Giuliani so he wouldn't run in the presidential primary race last year.
Michael Hastings wrote in GQ magazine that he had a "recurring fantasy" that he could somehow stop the former New York City mayor in his tracks.
"I quickly realized Rudy was a maniac. I had a recurring fantasy in which I took him out during a press conference (it was nonlethal, just something that put him out of commission for a year or so), saving America from the horror of a President Giuliani. If that sounds like I had some trouble being 'objective,' I did. Objectivity is a fallacy," he said."

    October 31, 2008 12:27 PM ABC Reports:

Barack Obama's campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported .
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign, according to the Sentinel.

paproudmom, thank you for your comments as well. When I posted abou the other poster placing you with others who have made racist comments, I was not accusing you. I was trying to show you how some posters may see you in regards to some your comments. It was a warning not an accusation. As for my comments that I am not interested in your posts, I did not mean that in an offensive way.. I meant that you have not commented on anything that I had an opinion to until you made that comment about Nins the other night. It is not because I found your comments uninteresting. You as well have not posted to my posts and I am sure it was for the same reason. Yes, everyone has a right to their opinion... this is what I have been saying.

Paproudmom, in case you don't see my other comments to you, I never posted that you are a racist. I also apologized to you in my other post even though as we all know, it takes two to tango.
I'm finished now. Thank you for reading.

Pia my computer is acting up and two posts to you did not go through. Thanks for the apology. You may have not directly called me a racist but posted comments claiming someone else said I was, I have always stood up against racism. People from all cultures and races have much to offer each other, As far as answering others posts you and many do that on the blogs. But since you find I have nothing to say of interest to you I will refrain from responding to you after this. Everyone has a right to give their opinion. But in giving one then you must accept that others may agree or disagree, Someone who disagrees does not any way stop others from having a point of view.
