Her God,is money. When you drive a town 20 million in the whole, get your State to pay you to stay in your own house, accep t$248,000,000 as a consession to your original request then talk up how you said 'No' to a higher figured request, prostitute yourself as a 'normal working Mom' that's in need of expensive clothing, your freaking God is money. So she'd be just like all the other politicians, tell you how to live while they enjoy untold Liberty. Which inclludes whorshiping something that has no Spirit...the dollar

I am a Catholic with very conservative religious beliefs AND I am a liberal -- not an incongruent philosophy. I go by Jesus' own words, "Render unto God, God's, Render unto Cesear's, Cesear's" and I've never had a problem reconciling the two. My faith is mine and mine alone. It is not subject to anyone else's interpretation, just as Gov. Palin's, until such time as mine override her's and her's override mine.

Obama claims to be a Christian too, therefore he would hold the same "apocalyptic theology" as Sarah Palin. You can't throw mud as Sarah about her religious beliefs and not hit Obama and 80% of the other Christians in our country too. Your pathetic attempts to demonize Christianity is just that, pathetic.
Christians do not hate Jews, so why don???t you stop playing on that fear in the hopes that Jews will be too afraid to vote for McCain. I think you owe an apology to both the Christian and Jewish communities for perpetuating that divisive lie for the sake of Obama???s campaign.

Many of Obama fans are of the Hollywood liberals and big money, how may "religions" are there in his little circle? We live in America, freedom of religion was what our country was founded on and Christianity, which is that God sent His Son, Jesus, who died on the cross for all sinners, and He rose agian, and that He is coming back! It requires accountability to Him alone, not perfection, no one but Jesus was perfect. Many of Obamas fans and Obama himself will talk up Jesus, but they believe He was a prophet, perfect prophet, even the devil himself acknowledges Him, but they do not have faith in Him as their Savior or even think they are sinners and need a Savior. So go belittle Obama's religion and his fan's and you will ahve a lot more of your dirt to publish!

I want Newsweek and the other media outlets to ask the question, "What are Obama's Religious Beliefs??
No one truly knows...no college records, no medical records, no senate records, no certified birth certificate, no selective service records. He has wiithheld everything from the voting public! WHY??
If elected, will he be sworn in with his hand on the Bible or the Koran?...will someone ask him that too??

So lets look at the seeding of what it means to be christian. Jesus died on the cross rather than be the leader of a Jewish army and rebellion. In short Jesus was a pacifist. He did not believe in war. Sarah Palin believes that the war in Iraq is god's will. She has stated this, in the same church where she was "protected" from the demons. Ironic isn't it. Christians have got to come to the realization that the glaring dichotomy between what they say they believe in and what they actually preach is light years apart. Diametrically opposed actually.

Sarah Palin also has said that it's god's "will" to put a natural gas pipeline across Alaska. Seriously .... do we want someone in office who thinks god has an interest in Alaska's natural gas. Transparancy in bainwashing doesn't make it any less offensive. God's will to have a gas pipeline across Alaska? Pull your heads out of the sand people.

Ok, so let me get this straight? It's WRONG for her to believe in the bible, which our country was truly formed upon, but it's OK for Obama to go to a church for 20 years where the pastor preaches hatred towards whites, that America is evil and needs to be knocked down, and that allows Father Phleger to speak?! What a double standard! If Palin went to a church that preached that blacks are evil and out to get whites, you would hear about it, but for Obama he is given a free pass, let's leave all of their religion alone, and look at the problems facing the nation, not backwards, but IN THE FUTURE, let's plan together to get out of this mess, and find common ground instead of isolating ourselves in minor details...

Why can't the religious zealots of this country have their own version of Burning Man in Alaska and take the "express train" to Heaven? Ya'll would be helping the environment (no more fossil fuels used driving to my home and you're biodegradable). Don't be mad at me, it's your God that doesn't want me to believe!

you conservatives are the death knell of the american spirit. who's religion is what has no business in politics, religion and politics don't mix, i want somebody who will do the right thing, which is capture osama bin laden, get our troops home and take care of our economic crisis. not sit in the oval office, lie, cheat and steal and be a pro war bigot all at once. us americans have been stuck on the same racial and social issues for decades and it's time to move forward and those not willing must be left behind to wallow in their self pity.

    Vote Sarah! End Abortion!

    • Posted By: tjohn017 @ 10/29/2008 9:33:38 AM

You voted for Dubya, did he end abortion? How stupid! You want small government but at the same time you want to take over a womans right to choose. Hypocrit!

You voted for Dubya, did he end abortion? How stupid! You want small government but at the same time you want to take over a womans right to choose. Hypocrit! First of all, no one person can eliminate abortion in this country. However, Bush (as did Reagan before him and hopefully McCain/Palin after him) helped to reduce abortions through executive orders such as the Mexico City policy and by signing or at least not vetoing pro-life legislation like the Hyde Amendment and the Partial Birth Abortion Ban. Secondly, Republicans are more likely to appoint constitutional constructionists to the Supreme Court and the lower coursts so that they might overturn Roe v. Wade, which even liberals like Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz who wrote that he "always been a strident critic of Roe v. Wade as well as other opinions of the Warren and Burger courts that lacked candor and fidelity to constitutional principles," have said was a terrible decision. Finally, there is nothing hypocritical or inconsistent in being both pro-life/anti-abortion and a small government conservative. Small government conservatives think govenment does have a legitimate, albeit limited, role, mostly in defending individual liberties, primary among them the right to life.

      one issue voter...are you informed???

      • Posted By: KasiaAnna @ 10/29/2008 11:28:11 AM

Sure, if the single issue is the intentional slaughter of over 40 million innocent children! I suppose you would have condemned someone in Germany if they voted against Hitler on a single issue -- concentration camps.

Let's review the facts. We have a non-racist white woman following a black Pastor who wants to pray to get rid of evil and protect the United States of America and you campare this to a anti-Semetic black man who follows a black Pastor who wants to get rid of white people and tear down the United States of America. The facts are clear, but Newsweek thinks that Americans are stupid and they can manipulate the election.

Belief in witchcraft in this day and age is scary. I have gone to church for as long as I can remember and I don't believe in witchcraft nor does my Minister. The psychology involved in believing in witchcraft is frightening. Any rational person can see that.

That said I will be voting for an Independant candidate. Neither Obama nor McCain will be good for the US>

Before you start pointing to someone elses speck in their eye, take the plank out of your own eye. That is what Jesus says in the New Testament. Before we start to accuse Presidential candidates and VP candidates of believe in Jesus or witches or abortion or wars or higher or lower taxes, judging them on what they say or did as a POW or what color their skin is, we MUST look at our own lives. Why? Because we are just as guilty as McCain, Palin, Obama or Biden of being wrong. There is none who is righteous, no not one. And yet we have guys like Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, the two who wrote this article, musicians, etc., who think they are righteous. If the God that I believe in says there is no one who is righteous, no not one, I believe that.

Righteousness does not come from having the best ideas or plans or schooling or whether you have political prowess. Righteousness is something that we as Christians strive for because we are called to be intimate with God the Father. Our perfect example was Jesus Christ.

Before we judge Palin or McCain or Obama or Biden of beling dirt bags, hypocrites, heathens, or whatever we choose to call them, we must look at ourselves in the mirror. We must recognize that we are no better then they are.

As a military person, my desire and want is that the next President be a worthy one. I need to know that I will have job security and my family will be provided for. And the outcome of who is President and VP will be here soon. And I take comfort in the fact that God will appoint the leader of the greatest nation in the world.

    God bless America.

I appreciate your concern about Ms Palin, but I would be much more interested in Mr Obama's religious beliefs, and his 20 year history in Rev Wright's church.

Could someone please inform me as to why all of the main stream media are left wing liberals? Is that a requirement for the job? I'm also very confused as to why anyone in their right mind would be afraid of a God loving Christian woman????? I guess the liberals will sleep better at night with a Muslim loving socialist controlling our country. Go figure???? As Christians we need to pray without ceasing for the future of this country and for the liberals who are helping (without truly understanding) to destroy it.

So now we want somone sympathetic to witchcraft in all its forms in the White House instead of someone who wants to be removed from the spirit of witchcraft? Really? Is that what the majority of Americans want?

  • Posted By: shelbinarev @ 10/29/2008 11:46:05 AM

I recommend the author of this article look at the website for the church Barack Obama attended for twenty years and then write an article about Obama's variant beliefs. After all, even in an election year it is reasonable to write regarding all candidates beliefs and religious history.

brokeroncall Im sorry but you are an idiot. Barack Obama is not a muslim. Just to help you out a name alone does not a muslim make. And I do understand his name does remind you of Osama, but I would hope that a supposed broker would have a higher intellect than to associate the two just based on sound. But since I see you cannot differentiate I will tell you that you are a Pucking Bit Lead (Im sure you can translate)
