wow if this is a new story then you better write about all the average christian believers in this country who attended church. this looks no different then what i see every weekend at my home church...GOD forbid someone wants PRAYED for!!!!! wake up liberal media this is the average american whether you like it or not... not the average east coast or west coast the average middle america and we need to wake up because yes we do out number you..you just don't hear us or care to listen to us

"...this is the average american whether you like it or not... not the average east coast or west coast the average middle america and we need to wake up because yes we do out number you..."

What are you saying here? That people of the east or west coasts matter less than those in "middle America"? Are we less of an American than you? And how does outnumbering another group of people make you right? The Iraqis outnumbered the Kuwaitis when they invaded in 1990. I guess we should've let them, huh? I mean, they outnumbered them, so they must've been right.

Go back and review the history of how and why this nation was founded. Read the Constitution. It wouldn't matter if 99% of this country were of one single religion. We separate church and state, period.

"a chosen generation and a royal priesthood" is from a passage in the Bible. The most disturbing part of this story is the person who wrote it. There is nothing wrong with Sarah Palin's beliefs if you are a Christian and read the Bible. I am writing this and openly saying that I am not a Palin supporter; however, when talking about her pentecostal beliefs as if she is a nut job... that's taking it too far!

  • Posted By: kphillips580 @ 10/29/2008 10:06:28 AM

This article proves just how far America has gotten away from God. Who would think we would see the day that people think it is weird and charasmatic to pray about decisions being made in one's life and for their protection. Sarah Palin is exactly what this nation needs in the white house. I find it unbelievable how Palin's religious beliefs find so much critisism in the media, while Obama's religious background just slips through the cracks. America is in a sad place today.

  • Posted By: hotsummer @ 10/29/2008 10:06:22 AM

I am no fan of Gov. Palin but I respect her religious conviction and belief as anyone else. This article is tastless with no jounalistic integrity. If you want to discredit a candidate, stick to political issues.

All liars shall have their place in the lake of fire. Obama,John. Sarah and Biden unless they repent.

Here is yet another attack on Christianity, "the out of fashion " religon. I was raised in an Assembly of God church, and I can see how many people who want to attack it can try to exaggerate things. This article was very biased and tries to make it seem like people who believe in God are nuts. Wow, if it really was near the end times so many of you are out of luck!

According to the Holy Bible the Lord Jesus Christ gave us the believers of Chirst the ability to lay hands on the sick and they will be healed and the power to cast out demons. Either you believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior or you don't. You can't serve two masters at the same time. Either you serve Jesus Christ Lord Almighty or you serve Satan. The choice is yours. I really don,t believe you can cast an opinion on a issue until you truly try both sides of the story. Give your heart to Jesus Christ and follow His way for a month or two and than tells us your thoughts. Because until you truly try this, you truly don't know what you are talking about.

Does it really matter? Look at Obama, when sworn in to Congress he used the Koran not the Bible. If elected President what do you bet he will do the same thing. To me that is not Christian and if anyone noticed, in the recent news that Iran is for Obama to be elected. Iran is also know as a terrorist country. Barack Hussein Obama is an Arab-Muslim name and he has Muslim roots so everyone should think twice before its too late.

    • Posted By: deggage @ 10/29/2008 10:05:16 AM

Senator Obama was sworn in on the Bible. Please stop spreading lies and get your facts straight! Better yet, stop judging, stick to the facts. Better yet, stop imitating Pontius Pilate.

    • Posted By: teri222 @ 10/29/2008 9:32:55 AM

Try checking your facts. This is all a LIES!!!!

  • Posted By: hmcinnis @ 10/29/2008 8:49:49 AM

Who is praying for Obama? He'll need it.

    • Posted By: astrofan @ 10/29/2008 10:05:12 AM

I am praying for whomever gets in office. Our nation as a whole needs prayer. I am praying that our next president will consult God in every decision he makes.

You are right. I and my friends are praying for him. He is getting it and we must and will continue to do so. He has been chosen by God and is our next President!

I don't think religion should matter--after all isn't there suppose to be seperation of church and state? If we consider her religious belief that we certainly can't over look Obama's muslim background and the fact that we has already stated quite plainly that he has no respect for the American Flag, or the National Anthem, and vows that the US should aspire to be more like Islamic nations. That should scare us all.

  • Posted By: JannyB @ 10/29/2008 10:04:31 AM

Why is Sarah Palin attacked for her Christian beliefs which is the American based faith and yet the Muslims with their Koran and violence are accepted and not attacked. It is sad that the Koran is more accepted that the Bible and Jesus Christ.

Lisa and Andrew- have you asked your collegues at the LA Times where that video is?

    • Posted By: GregAugustaGA @ 10/29/2008 10:04:30 AM

Excellent point but a question I assure you will go unanswered by these cowards. Do you get the impression I am getting that the Obamanists, like Miller and Murr, still know "their guy" can lose this thing? They MUST keep up their relentless, rediculous, and slanderous attacks to "seal the deal" their "Chosen One". They better watch out because this crap just might backfire. There are not only a lot of undecides, but many more who still aren't in that Obama "comfy zone". How could they be? So many Newsweek writers in there, not much room left at the inn. Hopefully some day, one day true journalism will be reborn and be respected as a worthy profession again.

Sometimes we think of a witch hunt as finding innocent women and torturing them on a burning stake. Witchcraft is a subtle power in this country and is under the guise of neopaganism. Spells are real and many politicians have used spiritual power to influence. Let us not take this lightly. I remind you that John Kerry was involved in witchcraft in Skull and Bones at Yale and our founding fathers were involved with masonry which follows ancient Baal worship. Open your eyes and see that the spirit world is real folks!

Shouldn't the power of prayer banish all powers of evil?

"Right Wing Christian Nut?" Sir/mam, would you honestly make those comments about the Muslim faith? Would you write an article like this about the Muslims and Mohammed the prophet? Perhaps you don't have what it takes to confront Muslim extreemism and its various forms that are killing people and our soldiers for fear of you own life. Are you truly that cowerdly and gutless? Has the Muslim world put that kind of fear in your heart? Yet, you would second guess honest faith and sincere love for Christ and doctrins that differ in the Church? Truly you step on sacred and Holy ground. What about the Constitution and freedom of religion. Yet, in this article you hide behind that very right to spew your unethical bias and express your opinion and presumptions on an individual right and choice to ascribe motive and create suspicion. It doesn't matter weather you are Democrat or Republican this is a personal freedom and not one for you to drag through the mud and trample on our rights. How would our forefathers have reacted to you in the colonies? How would the framers of the Constitution have reacted? Well, we don't know but we do know this; your editor has no ethics, integrity, or guts to correct or fire you, which should be done. You break all the rules of journalism. Perhaps it is true, real Journalism has sadly died! Read Christ Malone's artical on the ABC New Website. Perhaps then you will get the truth about yourself.

You all should be very careful speaking of things that you obviously know nothing about. The way that the article is articulated is very misleading. The conservative beliefs that she has does not make her less of a candidate, if anything it makes her more! She is not afraid to be a light in a very dark work. One that seems to be trying to take away any semblence of what family, relationships, love or even good reamain out there. Each of us will have different views because our experiences with life are different. Just like God has the capacity to love and to hate, so do we, because of sin none of us make the grade really. It is simply through his resurrection that we even have the opportunity. Please do not continue to distroy this person because you do not share her beliefs. Remember what it took for you to get where you are. In the real world unless you seperate yourself and become a hermit, you too have skeletons. This does not mean that you are bad it just means that you too need the love and forgiveness of a God who is capable of righting all wrongs.

Palin has endangered the soldiers of America with her lies about Obama being a muslim. Her negative ranting has been seen around the world and she nor McCain understand how much hate they generate against America. What a stupid pair to use fear and hate to divide this country. So much for their strenght on national security and foreign policy.

      I agree!

  • Posted By: RMcD @ 10/29/2008 10:01:00 AM

Let's be serious for a moment - there are many, many Christians in this country, and the vast majority do not beieve in witches, nor do their ministers. Frankly, I believe that freedom of religion does not mean the right to foist one's beliefs on others, as Palin clearly chooses to do. Interestingly, Jesus taught love and caring for one another, and I see nothing but hatred and nastiness in Palin's commentary, so I believe that no matter how many times she is "blessed" from witchcraft or for money (although she did get all those new clothes!), by her "Christian" minister who also preaches that Jews and Muslims are witches (does she understand that there are Jews in Israel?), I cannot believe that my gentle Savior would be interested in helping her vulgar campaign be successful. Plenty of us do not agree with everything our ministers say, but we do not then go around hamming for the camera with them! She is certainly not my kind of Christian - I am quite sure no God would want us to behave like Palin.

Sarah Palen is a standard Bible believing, born again, spirit filled Christian, which is what all people should be if they are to be acceptable to the God of creation through His Son Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah, the Lord and Savior of mankind. May God's blessing be upon her as she becomes our next Vice President..

  • Posted By: algaeblooms @ 10/29/2008 4:34:10 AM

Like most any politician she's a religious chameleon: she'll wear any religious suit for the constituency she wants to appeal to. Frankly, I don't believe she is as devout as she portrays herself, nor do I believe that she is capable of giving questions of spirituality much thought. If she were born into a Muslim family, she would spout the same extremists notions of that faith. Religious extremists, both Christian and Muslim, are really much the same. What is troubling about Palin is that she is willing to pander to Christian extremists.

Unfortunately, you are right. As a Christian and a firm believer in some of what this article is saying, Palin is a fake, and off-the-mark Christian. She probably needs to re-dedicate her life, study her Bible and possibly get out of politics. May it is her greed and her desire to be in politics that has caused her to be so obviously anti-bible/God!

The thing is Jesus Christ died for all of us. We're all sisters and brothers and we must unite. So to all who places God in the situation, know what it means. Know what it means to know Him. Obama, Biden, Mccain, Palin and of course Joe the Plumber are all creatd beings. And until you know that, you won't understand. So, if God created them He also created you. So to be frank, I am against alot of things. But when it comes to God can't nobody take my faith from me. To all who has a problem about what the Bible says or how you should pray. You need to go to God for all of that. First off only God can judge us all. We may comment now about what's going on, but God is the only one with the truth source to know. Only God knows who will win on Nov 4 now. Only God can provide the last say so. Fellow sisters and brothers please don't try to make this your battle. Because it's not your battle to fight. God has already chosen the best candidate. So come election day, he will see to it that it is done. I say this whoever is your candidateof choosing you pray for them. Whether it be Mcain Palin or Obama Biden. We fight every four years about who will be president. But let me tell you God ha something bigger than prsidency. God has a kingdom and He's looking for Kingdom minded people to help build it up. The thing is we've lived in the tradition era too long. Open your eyes when will you ever be ready for change. Do you have to see the same stuff happening before your eyes are revealed? God loves you and each and every human walking this earth. Wake up, now is the time.

You are absolutely right. Love and Unity is what God wants. He has already chosen the better candidate. This is not our fight.
