I am certainly not of the Republican Party, but I take my hat off to Sarah Palin for standing frim on her beliefs! I am Pentocostal, and casting out demons in the name of Jesus Christ is not strange, there is the natural world we live in and the unseen world, spirtual, believe what you want but God is in control, always has been, always will be! Praying for protection, God's wisdom in ALL areas of our lives is a daily thing, get to know HIM! It's really not about your deno, ination, it's about Jesus! HE WILL GUIDE YOU, AND IF YOU THINK YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF ANYTHING, YOU ARE NOT! Free will, yes, but there are only two thought processes, where are your thoughts coming from? GOD OR satan? I THANK gOD, i KNOW WHO MY ROCK,MY STRENGTH, PROTECTOR AND COMFORTER IS, rEGARDLESS OF THE ELECTION RESULTS, IT IS ALREADY WRITTEN.

2002 is the year that the Palins became mainstream....Sarah quit her wackadoodle church and Todd quit the Alaskan Independence party.

I as well as many christians in the good old USA know that Sara is Heaven sent. Someone who will align herself with GOD to bring down the greedy politicians that have spent all of your (USA citizens) money on evil things in this country. Remember all you losers out there; GOD ONLY HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES. Obama is not the walking ATM machine that all you non working people believe he is. If you vote for him and he wins the election you will find out. I pray for our nation and all the people in it, christian or not.

When will you all realize that your beliefs and faith are al superfluous. All that matters is compassion and kindness. Do you seek mercy for others or justice? Seeking justice is a form of vindictiveness. Jesus Christ was not a moralist the only thing he preached against was hypocrisy. The Dalai lama is going to heaven simply because of his actions and compassion anyone who thinks otherwise hs missed Jesus essential message. Stop being hypocrites.

Are you kidding me? After all of the things that have been revealed about Barrak Obama this is what you choose to report on. It is so obvious that you are trying to "dramatize" Sarah Palins religious beliefs to draw attention away from what is really scary in this campaign and that is Barrak Obams affiliations. Wake up people!

You all are making to big of a deal about the word witchcraft, as far as christian theology is concerned, the word encompasses a much larger set of actions than just casting spells or reading palms. The main form of witchcraft addressed within the church is the use of anything other than truth to gain what you want from others.

Nice try. You once again show the stupidity of the press. Now you are attempting to put doubt in the religious right about the Republican VP Candidate. Shame on you! Christians understand that the evil of this world surrounds us all the time. To Ask God for protection against this evil is to give doubt about her religious views? I think not.

  • Posted By: Wonderful*19 @ 10/29/2008 8:56:49 AM

churches of this sort are not as uncommon as you might think. the authors of this article have obviously never encountered a relationship with GOD, or been to an "alive" church. she is on fire for GOD, and she doesn't have to say it, it is written all over her, and her moral beliefs. JESUS help anyone who would judge her for her faith. And GOD bless her and McCain in the upcoming election.

  • Posted By: blackwolf @ 10/29/2008 8:55:53 AM

To the majority of people in the world believe the end of time theory is just that a"theory". I was raised baptist and do believe in one devine creator, but I don't think the creator of all of us would favor just us in U.S. over everyone else. Christian is the youngest of all the religions and has been used destroy more cultures than any religion in history. Lets keep religion out of government and government out of religion and the world will be much better off. I don't think that believing in witches makes Palin crazy because I happen to know a few of those myself. Thinking that you are chosen above the rest of the world by god on the other hand does make you a little nuts to me. Of course I base this on the fact the evangelicals practice more dark magic than most witches would ever dare to try.

you've got to be kidding me. You talk about Sarah Palin as being unqualified for the number 2 position but you don't seem to care that Obama is even less qualified than her and he is going to be in the number 1 position. What gives? Also, Palin is not the one that pushed her religion on everyone else, the democratic media and lawyer teams dug up these videos and pushed them on America.

    • Posted By: octobertime @ 10/29/2008 8:55:29 AM

I agree 100%. She didn't push her religion on anyone. They went to her church and got the video and pushed it on everybody. That is her belief and it is most definent Biblical. These people that talk religion need a true salvation experience other wise they are blinded by the worlds teachings. They are deceived into believing that some man or women is going to step into the lime light and make every thing all good and mankind will live in peace and harmony I believe that would be the anti-Christ that people are going to
put their faith in, but it wont to peace and harmony it will be trouble as we have never seen before, according to scripture. Only God can bring the change we need.

    • Posted By: bbrocks @ 10/29/2008 7:13:11 AM

First, what makes Palin more qualified than Obama? He was a State Senator, which as far as I know is a higher office than Mayor, and he is in the US Senate, which I believe is still a higher office than a Governor. As both state and US Senator, Obama's constituency is nearly triple that of Palin's. I guess you can penalize him for not having the experience of shooting wolves from a helicopter. You really should read before you write.

      • Posted By: bbrocks @ 10/29/2008 7:19:26 AM

Oh, yeah, I forgot. I guess having had to go to 5 different Community Collegesbefore getting a degree just might be a record for anybody. Bless her heart.

        • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/29/2008 7:31:47 AM

Are you saying that anyone who goes to community college is not qualified to be president. I've got news for you there are many great schools in this country that bright people go to, Most of Obama's proposal that he learned in those expensive colleges show he did not get much for his money.

          • Posted By: CrystalK999 @ 10/29/2008 8:35:49 AM

Enter Your CommentCommunity colleges are for peple who go into trade positions. Obama went to a university where he became a constitutional scholar. In fact, later he taught a constitution course. I have a bachelor's degree from a university. That doesn't make me qualified for VP let alone POTUS. A communications degree from a string of community colleges makes a person qualified to report on local traffic and that's about it.

      • Posted By: BigArch @ 10/29/2008 7:29:36 AM

Any moron understands that a governor much more responsibilites than does a senator and especially one with 143 days before he starts running for POTUSA. You must smoke some fine weed.
Did you ever wonder who paid for your messiah to go to such fine schools? I am sure that if Palin had had a sugar daddy she could have made it thru the same schools. Your point only shows she worked for hers and didn't give up.
Do you pray to your messiah 5 times per day?

      • Posted By: nescon @ 10/29/2008 7:28:11 AM

Obama spent a total of 143 working days in the senate before he began running for President. It amazes me that any employer in this country would require much more time on the job and more experience before promoting an employee to the position of CEO of a company, however, for the most powerful job in the world, the media and many American's are willing to promote a candidate that doesn't qualify for the head of a company much less President.

It is apparent that the writers of this article are severly biased and completely ignorant when it comes to the pentecostal faith.

First, each of us are individuals and therefore, our prayers are unique unto God. To quote an excerpt of the two authors and to try to correct (also known as rebuke by the way) the lack of knowledge (also known as ignorance): "...First, Muthee urges the congregation to pray for Palin's success "even in the political arena ... [to] bring finances her way ... and give her the personnel." And then he offers this cryptic blessing: "In the name of Jesus. Every form of witchcraft is what you rebuke." The laying of hands on the Alaska politician, the invoking of Jesus and witches in the same sentence???what the heck is going on?"...Well, what the heck was going on was this Kenyan preacher prayed in accordance to the Word of God.

DECEPTION, in certain translations of the Bible is viewed as a form of witchcraft. If you look up the definition of witchcraft, the synonymns of this word can be found in passages such as Ephesians 4:13-15. What this Kenyan pastor was praying when he stated that she "rebuke every form of witchcraft", he was simply praying that God would give Governor Palin CLARITY to be able to see through the deception that some may try to present to her and that she CORRECT their actions. To rebuke means to correct.

It is VERY SAD that an article so full of inaccuracies of Governor Palin's beliefs has not only been written - but at NO time did these "reporters" ever ask the Kenyan preacher or anyone of the Pentecostal faith to weigh in on what this pastor was truly praying. I would be curious to see if these reporters - for the lack of a better word - have exuded just as much energy trying to find out Barack Obama's true beliefs, if he has any, and also how his "associations" with "Rev." Wright, Bill Ayers, "Father" Flager, Louis Farrakhan and Tony Rezko came to be. If they sought him out or did HE seek them; as one of his books references as he surrounded himself with mentors including some who believe in Marxism.......but oh wait......that would be too fair, now wouldn't it???

    VERY sloppy reporting.

Nothing brings out the religious fundamentalist wackos faster than exposing one of their own. The world's greatest problem is dealing with religious conservatives..........Christian or Muslim. It's because of these groups that we are involved in the Wars today.

Who doesn't beleive in witches???? Sure you don't see them flying around on brooms but I have met slef proclaimed witches who practice witchcraft. The Bible talks about. Get over Palin's religion. The Bible talks about speaking in tongues (Acts 2:38) and I don't understand why everyone is against what she believes when it's right in the Bible. I researched it and her religion makes the most sense of all religions. People are tired of dead religion, Jesus is alive and her religion celebrates that.

Obama and Biden's religious beliefs have been given total pass. They are mentioned then approved of and then the topic drops. To compare the coverages as equal is unbelievable.

        • Posted By: Mrs. Plinkett @ 10/29/2008 8:54:24 AM

That is so not true! Biden is Catholic. Everyone knows that Biden is Catholic. No big secret there. And Obama. God Lord! We have talked adnoxium about his religious beliefs. Do you really think that there has been more coverage about Palin's faith than Obama's? There are still emails and comments circulating that he is a Muslim, and by the same people who condemn his association with a christian minister of a christian church. Fact is, the only person whose religious beliefs America has not talked about is McCain's. Biden's were questioned and commented on because he is pro-choice and catholic and he has had to explain how he can justify the viewpoints. Obama has had to defend every single thing about himself, his church, his faith, his name, his skin color, his loyality in a way that we would never make a white person named John Smith (or McCain for that matter) explain.

I come from the scum of the North (many Yalies too), and no one up here cares for anyone but themselves. The atheists and feminists (of which I was one) did a good job with world peace - the last century was an example of their "peace" - Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Hojxa, Ceausescu, Mengistu, Idi Amin, Mugabe, etc. who were all followers of Darwin and Marx (no one deconstructs that!). There is no family left at all, and when you live in CA or CT or NY or NJ you could be dead for ten years in your house before anyone notices. It is too bad that the church does not reach out to the poor community more, and cannot incorporate science and technology without adopting in it what made Mengele and Andropov so great. Just because the Yankees are more educated, does not make them better people. When I moved to North Carolina, it was the first time I felt that I had a friend - and I have grown up amongst the top Preppies and top intellectuals - people who think that going to Princeton is a comedown from Yale and Harvard, but I will never forget the wonderful unconditional love I got down in NC. The stupid educated "scum" up here, that scum that has no use for anything but itself, will have a rude awakening next year. You will be sorry you made that comment after the Arabs nuke NY or LA. - you "aint" going to make peace with the Arabs boy, and the more morally conservative Asian community has passed boy the white boys for good...Of course you can live with and sleep with all the bums of either sex you wan't to celebate and maybe you will get a venereal disease!!!!! (Yankee Love...) I left Madelyn Murray O'Hair and Gloria Steinem and James Watson and all of the other educated gods years ago and I haven't missed a thing. By the way, do you think all of the trauma going on now is because no one has any moral base anymore? The people up here would cut their own grandmother's throats to get ahead, and they would blame you in a heartbeat.
God bless the South and the wheat belt and make it prosper. The Yankees suck!!!!!!!!!!!!

      A Connecticut Yankee
