Jesus and Witches

Firstly, the video clip is not labeled correctly. The pastor was praying for PROTECTION from witchcraft, not salvation from it. A common trick to get viewers thinking the way that the clip poster wants.

Secondly, what was witnessed in the video is, or used to be, common in most Christian churches. Praying for Christ to protect and bless a believer. There are still many Christian churches today doing the same thing. Try going to one and see.

To invoke and to rebuke are not the same thing; they are rather close to opposites. Therefore to invoke Jesus Christ and to rebuke witches and/or witchcraft would be quite logical.

What a ridiculous article. To condemn someone who believes in God and for worshipping. Read your bible, evil does exist in many forms and to believe that is to follow the Word. There is nothing wrong with that. At least Mrs. Palin had the nerve to talk to her previous pastor and give him a reason for leaving his church. Obama wouldn't even speak to his own pastor. If he can't "talk" to his own pastor, how does he expect to "talk" to other countries?

It's about time someone covered the spiritual warfare angle. The Apostle Paul goes into detail about putting on teh armor of God to fight the evil. Jesus Himself evicted spirits from possesed men and women. Governor Palin is merely seeking protection. As for the comment about Paul giving to their ability, etc, Jesus said there will always be the poor among us . He is slyly quoting Marx. I bet the writer never has tithed and offered.

I wish that people that know nothing about the Bible, God, and Jesus would stop trying to explain it to everyone. This was not a prayer for Sarah Palin because she was into witchcraft as you are trying to make people believe. This was a prayer for her protection from wickednessand coruption. As she entered into the political arena she would be confronted with all kinds of people that would try and influance her. Some good and some not so good. All you have to do is read the Bible and this will explain it all. Just look in Revelation 21 : 8. "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral,those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars - their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. This is what the Prayer was for , to protect her from this. But of course I wouls not expect anyone tha tis a non believer to understand this, but they sure think they can explaine it to everyone. Why don't you try talking about Obama, you know the "African American". How I hate that phrase. I am an "American" and proud of it. I do not care to put some other name before it. I really can't understand this. Why can't people of the Black Race be glad to be Americans like the rest of us and just say I am an American. I don't hear people that their ancestors are from France say I am a French American, or France say I am a French American. If anyone is ashamed to say they are just a PROUD American then go to the country that you put before it to live and we that are just Proud Americans will do just fine without you. Thanks Jim N.

This is not not quality of reporting the facts that i have come to expect from your journal. How sad that the writer had no better way of reporting the facts , than tearing down a specific faith. In such desperate times as these, would it not be better to report on subjects that really matter. People all over this country are loosing their homes and jobs. What does her church beliefs matter so long as she can do the job at hand. At least they are not supporting the hate that the other candidate's pastor spills out from the pulpit. Lets try to focus on the important matters.

When do you plan to publish articles on the past and present religious practices of Obama, Biden, and McCain?

Please report on the Rashid Khalidi tape issue!!!!!!!!!!! Send a reporter or two out to FIND a copy of that party tape. The American public deserves to know all about Obama's associations. This is important.

Where is the investigative reporting on Obama's Muslim ties?
Why hasn't the mainstream media even ask Obama about his statememt; "If the political winds shift, I will stand by the Muslims"?
For you so-called investigative journalists, it can be found in his book "Audacity of Hope"?
What about Biden's religious beliefs? Why no reports on his beliefs?

This is not about Sarah's religious beliefs, It is about sarah and anyone else who dares oppose the Obama message. You the media, have seriously tried to quell the right of free speech, for those who have a serious difference in philosophy, with the Obama socialism..
Those of the media who have tried to question Obama or Biden, are not relegated as 'non gratis' and they get in trouble with whoever pays them.
This has gotten very troubling--- I ask you the media writer to review the history of pre WW2 where the german electorate began the systematic shutting down of all opposition to the Hitler message.

Hey newsweek way to open up a can of worms I hope the public now feeds it to you can and all. This just might be the most repugnant thing this liberal magazine has done. Take your subject and stick it because you are persecuting her for her religion and were persecuting Obama for his relationships with shady people one happens to be a religious leader not quite the same people not even close.

I also find it hypocritical that you get upset when anyone questions your stance/belief (this situation being Palin's) because she has a similar view of yours, but are in the same sentence, surprised that Obama's past is not analyzed, criticized or harrassed further (when it already has been). Once again, hypocritical!

It's about time someone covered the spiritual warfare side. The apostle Paul speaks of the spiritual war waging by speaking of putting on the armor of God. If more folks recognized the danger, they would be do the same as Governor Palin.
