The republican far right immoral minority is just as finatical as the taliban. They preach war in the name of what they believe. Ask Bush, or Fallwell or Rush Slimeball...you think theyre any different than BinLaden? They arent. And as long as people that love what this country was founded on, are subjected to their slime and preachings of war and hatred against anything that makes them uncomfortable, this country will remain divided.
Religeon has no business anywhere near government, its TOXIC.

I guess with the way this country today - it was founded upon the principles of Nero - when I was very litte, people could be trusted in the business community to award performance on merit, you didn't have to live with a bunch of bums before you got married!!!!!!!!!!!!, you had family that actually cared!!!!!!!!!!!!, and drug use was unheard of. Religious movements don't happen in a void.....As I mentioned before, the "educated" of the last century - people like Houston Chamberlin, and Lenin, and Sanger, etc. were the foundations for Hitler and Stalin and Mao....The sixties movement has torn every fabric of the U.S apart, and did really, outside of the boogie, nothing to further the black community. You are probably too young to remember anything but the garbage of today. I will agree with you on one point, however, we do have a democracy...without any moral fiber, however, Crassius and Pompey are at the gate....

It's funny how stupid we Christians are. I mean ,trying to live decent moral lives and contribute to society in a postive way. Refusing to join in with the majority of society ,in a dog eat dog world. Wanting to treat each other with diginity and respect. That's makes us as Christians ,a dangerous bunch.

OK, let me see if I've got this straight. Barack Obama's pastor of 20 years can rountinely and with the intensity of a crazy man ask God to "damn" America and Sarah Palin's religion is worthy of a 3 page spread? In fact, it's sort of amazing to me that Obama had to leave his church, denounce his pastor (did I mention he was his pastor of 20 years?), and several of his radical anarchists friends in order to try to get elected, yet Newsweek reporters (and I use the term "reporters" very loosely) are apparently sitting in Sarah Palin's church every Sunday listening for anything strange sounding (to them) that might come out of the preacher's mouth! Wow! Somebody please wake me when this insanity is over!

It always amuses me when ignorant people write about Christian beliefs. Witchcraft is a Biblical term and has nothing to do with witches as you so ineptly portray. And the other wild-eyed views you describe are all very mainstream Biblical beliefs - all denominations emphasize their own certain aspects of faith, but the fundamental belief that the world as we know will someday end with the return of Christ is a universal and basic tenent of all churches. Do a little research - for God's sake!

Newsweek this is pretty shoddy to attack an individuals personal beliefs! This must mean that the owners of newsweek is an extremists, liberal, antichrist anti God magazine who would support a Islamic take over of America. Did you report that Farakan called obama the messiah who will change the world? Apparently these are the last days foretold in the Bible and apparently you don't believe that either? May God save America and Israel from the onslaught of it's enemies!

    • Posted By: bamethout @ 10/29/2008 7:15:32 AM

The editors slander soneone who stands for Rightousness, Justice and with Godly morals. They are probably covering up the fact that they as individuals are cult leaders in witchcraft! obama wants to disarm law abiding citizens and our military in America! If he has his way? He would hand it over to his Islamic buddies and call it a peacefull take over and destroy America and Israel with the words! ( I told you I would change the world)

it always amazes me how a country so bent on proving GOD don't exist is all concerned about what she believes . the fact she believes in GOD is a big plus and ahe has one up on the nation as a whole . unless she is bowing at the alter of satan we should mid our business and let her worship GOD ! I MY SELF AM A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN AND LET ME TELL U SOMETHING THE REASON THIS COUNTRY IS IN THE TROUBLE IT IS IN FOR THE MOST PART IS WE HAVE TURNED OUR BACK ON GOD AND HIS WAYS!!! and whether u believe it or not don't really matter because i day all the people in the world will

People who attack others for their religious beliefs are ignorant.

  • Posted By: pugs @ 10/29/2008 7:11:53 AM

OK so when do we see Newsweeks story on what are Obama's beliefs? Marxism as he wrote in his book he hung around with, communism as his maybe father Frank Davis was and Ayers, socialsim as he said he is now proud of, Palestinian as his buddy Rashid was I wish LA Times would release the tape they say they have of Obma Rashid and Ayers or just a Black Panther groupie like Khalid Mansour?????INquiring minds wold like to know too bad the media keeps things fro us.
PS Sarah is easy she is Pentacostal they wre up front about that.

UNLIKE OBAMA, Sarah Palin fights for the rights of unborn children, & is fighting AGAINST Obama being permitted in office to support baby murder! Regardless of Palin's beliefs, it seems like she truly has a heart to honor God's law, not man's ideas, & anyone like that deserves my vote!

  • Posted By: Carol47 @ 10/29/2008 7:10:54 AM

Have you adequately covered Obama's church and his beliefs of 20 years?

  • Posted By: ReadMyLipstick @ 10/29/2008 7:10:52 AM

Hmmm, when your guy's vice president gets asked some tough questions and they arrogantly decide they don't have to answer and "punish" the interviewer and their affiliate, you have to come up with an article questioning Palins religion. Why aren't you out there pounding the pavement for answers to NOBAMAS religion and his various "associations" with very questionable characters. I have lost all respect for your rag and will never buy another copy!

To the authors of this article, congratulations, you are fostering the same religious persecution that our founding fathers came to America to escape from!!! According to the video, Sarah Palin was simply praying for God to strengthen her against the powers of darkness. The Christian faith is based upon acknowledging and accepting who Jesus Christ was, and is, and is to come. Christians who pray in "the name of Jesus" understand that in His name, is power. Power to repel darkness, power to heal, and power to overcome adversity and attacks from anyone or anything that may come against us. Sarah Palin had obviously recognized she was under an attack and had the guts and the fortitude to publicly call on her Living Savior for help. That???s what we???re all supposed to do!!! The rest of your article carries the same rhetorical theme that is commonly used to disenfranchise those who openly profess to be Christians. Do you know what ???witchcraft??? really is? Witchcraft is the art of ???manipulation???; which is what you and the rest of mainstream media tend to practice.

If a person has what he/she feels in a connection to the Creator, life has a more positive, purposeful direction. Concern for others is enhansed. Striving for the best is emphasised. There is a desire to please God by faithfully following Stripture's leading. Yes, there are some questions as to what roads best lead to these goals, but I would rather put my country into the hands of someone with these attributes (perhaps on a different road than I travel) than one who might not cherish these properties. I find nothing unacceptable in Sarah Palin and her faith.

Just remember... Our first president of these great United States had a great quote. He said, "You cannot lead this country without God and the Bible." God has not changed and the bible has not changed. We are the ones who have changed. Sadly, we are sliding away from the one thing that we have always done fairly well and that is to be a Christian centered nation with great tolerance for other religions. Now it seems that we are becoming a nation intolerant of Christians.

I want freedom of religion. I am not Christian, Jewish or Muslim. Any group that would make their religious beliefs law, frightens me. We have two poor choices to vote between. Pun intented, gods help us.

The statements made by Mike Rose should not seem outlandish; he is only quoting what the New Testament states is true of all followers of Jesus the Christ. The writers of the article obviously are biblically illiterate and choose to focus on just soundbites from videos or CD's.

First you guys whine about clothes (to get off the subject of Obama's socialism and terrorist buddies like Ayes and Rashid and racists like Farrakan and Jeremiah Wright.

Now this.......anything to distract from Obama's attempt to shove socialism down the throats of Americans..

Let tjhe LA Times know you demand the truth and to release the tape they are hiding to protect Obama!
