.........................................George Bush has been a big time failure during his years in office......America has seen the Bush Administration make one blunder after another..............Bush has failed and his Party the Republicans have failed us also so it is time for them to take a seat on the bench for the next 4 years!!!

    @GoSarah

You sound live a raving lunatic.Dial it back a notch and people may be more receptive to your claims. Truth is, both candidates are reasonable choices. Yes McCain has disappointed me a little lately as he has dialed up the "God,Guns and Gays" cultural issues by nominating Ms. Palin as VP. Overall though it is probably just a strategy to win, and McCain is still the Centrist I have always respected.

to say Ms. Palin and Mr. Obama are on the same level though is ludicrous.

I'd just like to point out that Henry V's war was both foolish and unneccessary, the only difference being he won his, whereas GWB mangled his. Not to mention, Henry's victory only lasted for his lifetime (Which I'm sure pleases the French very much). If that's the ideal we're striving for in our president, that's pretty sad. Limericks aside, I do hope our next president can put aside any personal drama and take a stab at protecting the long-term welfare of his constiuents.

There once was a man named Obama
He appeared and fulfilled us with drama.
    He came onto the scene
    through Oprah, the Queen
and he gave the conservatives trauma.

The media served him a platter
His hunger, not substance, no matter
    Folks fell to their knees
    each time that he sneezed
And the world of Democracy shattered.

And when he was finished performing
he rode in his limo to starting
He sat down in his chair
    but nothing was there
    except for his designer clothing.

I think it's irresponsible to analyze a patient who is not lying on your couch but the surmises are not that improbable. I have always thought that the Iraq war was Bush 43's attempt to prove to mommy that he was more of a man than Bush 41.

"As Bush began his campaign for the presidency, he often seemed a man secure in his own skin, balanced and reasonable, even to many Democrats."

    Excuse me? Balanced? Reasonable?

He couldn't even manage a baseball team, and was cocky and full of himself even in 2000. I remember thinking at the time we would be much better off with McCain.

Bush the Younger didn't have Oedipal issues - Oedipus lusted after his mother, remember? (One could make a much better case that Bill Clinton, quite enamored of his mother, married her in the guise of Hilary, but that's psychobabble for another day.)

The Bushes have classic multi-generational dysfunction, a large part of which manifests as alcoholism. I'm not convinced that he gave up drink or found religion - I think he is still spiritually bankrupt, and still drinking.

Which goes a long way toward explaining what happened to him as his presidency progressed: he never got treatment for his addiction, and continued to spiral downward emotionally and spiritually.

Oedipus is the least of his problems now.
