Tracking calories has been the only effective means for me to lose weight, because you just can't cheat when you write it all down. Every calorie you go over is right there on paper - or on the web if you use an online tracker, which I do. My favorite calorie tracker is MyFitnessPal.com. It's much easier to use than the DailyPlate and also 100% free, and it definitely beats recording stuff on paper hands down. But no matter what, definitely track it somehow some way if you really want to lose weight.

Very good tips. It is so unfortunate that so many cannot get beyond gluttony. The health implications have been in the media and a plethora of print periodicals for years now. Perhaps if it taken from a financial point of view, living a health lifestyle will finally "sink in" and be followed. I.E., Which is far more costly: living a healthy lifestyle and avoiding chronic and debilitating conditions or living a life of constant medical crisis care?
