it's hard to see how bad the economy is doing right now, but the hardest part in all this, is that people do not understand that this country does not belong to a party, but to all of us. So stop doing politics at every step we stand on, and let's try to do our best, not matter who is going to run away with the credict. However, if the country get higher, we'll win, if this keeps like this, not matter who has the blame on its head, our little kids will suffern the shot.

The true effectiveness of Obama's presidency should immediately be made apparent by the sudden dramatic drop in inner-city crime, including the complete disappearance of black-on-black crime (the most common urban type). Certainly no urban youth would ever even consider engaging in behavior which could embarrass or disrespect their president. Could they?? Even though the president's "rapper" friends advocate murder, rape, and pillage in their "lyrics", no youth, black or white, will consider such behavior from this moment on. It just wouldn't be right!

Most of the problems that Bush had to deal with were left behind to be reapired by Everyones good friend Bill Clinton :) Bush was blamed for many problems he did not create. I pray that Obama uses wisdom and doesn't just talk a good talk. I pray he can backup everything he has promised all of us. As far as the health care issue I DO NOT WANT SOCIALISTIC medicine. My Aunt lives in Wales England and they have Socialistic medicine and you go to see the doctor when you are sick and can't even get into the office because too many showed up before you did and you still have to come back the next day. There is no number taking to insure that you get helped the next day. She has gone back as many as six days in a row even extremely early and still did not get to see the doctor. So at this point she comes to the US to see family 2x per year and goes to see a doctor over here because she can choose and get helped. There she wouldn't have to pay, but she would rather pay than never get helped.

I challenge you to name most of the challenges Bush had to fix that were created by Clinton. Lets see, there was that huge budget surplus that Clinton left, Bush sure fixed that one didnt he. Most of the world admired us when clinton left, bush changed that too. Oh well, I guess you're right.

      • Posted By: darnthat dream @ 11/06/2008 11:46:49 AM

Dot com bubble, but that wasn't really any more Clinton's fault than the good economy was. I can say this about Clinton though: "He kept us out of Iraq."

    • Posted By: WPD192 @ 11/06/2008 11:18:05 AM

WOW!!! I guess Bill Clinton Started the War in Iraq. I guess Bill Clinton continues to send BIllions of dollars of Taxpayers money to rebuild a country who has billions of surplus when we have trillions in debt. WAIT!! Bill Clinton is also to blame for the economic mess that the banks got us into. BILL Clinton must be to blame for the bailout money all the MIDDLE CLASS are going to pay for George Bush's republican cronies. You need to get off your recliner and educate yourself.

    • Posted By: powefolks @ 11/06/2008 11:03:10 AM

Today in the US you have to have an appointment - You usually cannot get in to see a doctor on the same day of your need unless you go to the emergency room - health care is a right and should be given to EVERYONE

If you heard an interviewer on the Howard Stern show interviewing black people on the street before the election just to prove that black people are voting for Obama soley for his color, this interviewer asked these black people how they feel about Barack having Sarah Palin as his running mate and they all said 'GREAT"! THEY HAD NO IDEA WHO HIS RUNNING MATE WAS! THAT JUST PROVES MY POINT THAT BLACK PEOPLE ARE RACIST! THEY VOTED FOR OBAMA SOLELY FOR HIS SKIN COLOR! END OF STORY

    • Posted By: leopard88 @ 11/06/2008 11:46:08 AM

First of all it's important to understand that a major majority of African Americans are demacrats. Most of us do not connect to Republican principles because we do not see ourselves represented there. African Americans have voted for white presidents since we were given the right to vote in America. Many whites will not and cannot understand the signifigance of what it means to finally see someone who looks like us nominated and elected as president of the United States. Intelligent Americans do understand that there are men and women of all races who who see the powerful signifigance of America being an example throughout they world. If we are to lead other nations in creating democratic governments we must show them that a true democracy is represented by excepting leading of all races and genders. It is not racist to want to see yourself represented in government. Let us also understand that there were millions of Caucasion, Asian, Latino,Cuban, ect Americans who voted for president elect Obama. There were celebration all over the world reaction to this election. It was truly time for a change!

    • Posted By: whitefemale @ 11/06/2008 11:26:20 AM

Hmmm....no different that men voting Republican because Palin was "hot" or women voting Republican because Palin "was so cute." Get over the black issue. I would question any survery done by Howard Stern's people. You talk about biased!
By the way, I am white and I voted for Obama. I don't see him as "black." He is a man who's heritage is half white and half black...an excellent combination to work on the many problems in our country. What better person to connect a divided civilization! "There is no black America, there is no hispanic America...it is the "United States of America." That is his agenda. Hopefully he can get our country back in some kind of decent order. But it can't be done overnight. Congratulations and good luck to President elect Obama.

    • Posted By: xman300 @ 11/06/2008 10:19:47 AM

I heard that too. But in all fairness there were white people that had no clue about McCain either. Just proves that many people just vote on color alone.

  • Posted By: Unhappy in Jersey @ 11/06/2008 11:45:09 AM

    NO! NO! NO!
JUST SAY NO TO JON CORZINE FOR TREASURY SECRETARY!

  • Posted By: barracuda @ 11/06/2008 10:49:11 AM

COMMENT: You talk about racism, just look to the SOUTH, you people all voted McCain, the north has the respect and learning ability to choose who is best for this country, look what you southern did 8 years ago!! BUSH, now everyone is paying. One thing we will not have to worry about now is all the ties to BIG OIL, Bush and Channey had is OUT the DOOR in Jan. So all you Southern haters can go back to your nascar, worman, drinking, and cigerettes, and the real people run this counrty!!!

    • Posted By: powefolks @ 11/06/2008 11:27:36 AM

We people in the south did not all vote for McCain - but I must say I was wavering until he announced Palin as a running mate - that woman is fanatic

      • Posted By: powefolks @ 11/06/2008 11:45:08 AM

Bush was appointed the first term and elected the second (I hate to say, but gladly I did not vote for him) I am hoping that Obama takes advantage of this opportunity - he could do great things - but he has inheirited a country with a deeply troubled economy, dimenished respect among the world, and a disillusioned citizenship - God help him

  • Posted By: Tina4Obama @ 11/06/2008 11:45:01 AM

Salliann.... It is people like you that make me all the more grateful, elated, excited, and grateful, that Obama won. Dont let the hate overpower your judgement. To make such an ignorant statement as "the kool-aid drinking masses" , wherein I'm assuming your attempting to make an accurate reference to Black people. However, the reason Obama win was because he had the MAJORITY vote. In case you've been living under a rock, the Kool-aid drinking masses are still a minority. Ignorance is poisonous, but when Obama proves you wrong, Im sure you'll have nothing better to do than shut up and watch......

  • Posted By: kiiba @ 11/06/2008 11:44:12 AM

Obama's legacy for change should start with a move to replace the Democratic leadership in Congress with stronger and more diplomatic majority leaders

  • Posted By: Unhappy in Jersey @ 11/06/2008 11:43:14 AM

    NO! NO! NO!
GOD HELP THE USA IF OBAMA SELECTS JON CORZINE FOR TREASURY SECRETARY!!!
AS MUCH AS WE WANT HIM OUT OF NJ RIGHT NOW, I'D RATHER HE STAY HERE UNTIL NEXT YEAR & BE VOTED OUT DURING NEXT YEAR'S ELECTIONS. NO NEED TO HELP SCREW UP THE WHOLE COUNTRY!

  • Posted By: Prettycop @ 11/06/2008 11:41:36 AM

I don't think we should have to decide who can run this country but the color of a man's skin, but by the knowledge and know how that he will bring to this country. If this country can be repaired from the mess that was made in the last 8 years, let it be done. We the people re the one's that are hurting here not the one's making 250,000.00 a year. Obama is for teh people and that's a great thing, because I don't have that kind of money.

  • Posted By: WPD192 @ 11/06/2008 11:41:28 AM

Ok so how many of OBAMA's Terrorist friend's do you think he's going to ask to bomb the country? I mean really, from what you're saying he's tight with all these people you speak of I'm just curious as to what you think he's going to make them do for him and how it's going to affect us. I don't understand how people can sit here and make the ridiculous remarks like the one you just made and think they're in any way legitimate. Here is a man who is half black and half white. He was raised by his mother who is white, and his grandparents who are white. He went to Harvard and graduated Magna *** Laude, he was president of the Harvard Law Review. He was raised in Kansas alot of black people there (sarcasm), and at some point went to Chicago and became a community organizer, (for those of you who don't know, they help other people within the community). He has never committed any terrorist acts, never committed any acts of violence. It's amazing that after all this man has done you can say that he's a racist, a terrorist, and a socialist, NO ONE HAS EVER had any proof of these other than speculated associations. I'd respect you much more if you just came out and said what you really feel about Barack Obama. You resent the fact that he's been able to do what he's been able to do because of his skin color. Seriously be truthful with yourself and just say that instead of hiding behind all these ridiculous unproven speculations you're hanging your hat on. If Obama and McCains backgrounds were reversed you wouldn't even question McCain. I believe very strongly that Barack Obama is going to do the very best he can to help this country through a rough time, just like any other American president. Although I wasn't a Bush supporter I didn't think he expected or even wanted this outcome for the American people. He just let his own issues and beliefs get in the way and he had enough republicans to back him. It's a shame that after all this man has accomplished you can't even see past his skin

  • Posted By: jamama @ 11/06/2008 11:02:51 AM

Ok, take a deep breath all. I understand the excitement about a black American becoming a U.S. President but to have 97% of black-America vote for him is really no surprise to me!! The same happened in NYC for mayor, with Dinkins remember, and we all know how that turned out.
Listen, with his lack of acomplishment and his radical, criminal and terroristic friends, he would never get security clearence for a low level government job and now he's president!! And as for him building the economy from the bottom-up, tell me, when did a middle-class or poor man ever create a job? For 2 years he's never answered a tough legitimate question, so what makes anyone believe he has answers for anything in this crazy time. Be afraid, be very very afraid! KEEP YOUR EYES ON ISREAL BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE I BELIEVE JOE BIDEN'S PREDICTION WILL COME TRUE and that will spell grave trouble for the world!!

Jamama, It's Israel not Isreal. Spelling affects the legitimacy of your post.

    • Posted By: riversflow @ 11/06/2008 11:28:56 AM

jamama---it is just that kind of lack of faith, living-in-fear, judgemental attitude that sinks a nation. That is what the Bush Administration tried to instill in us their entire time in office and, unfortunately it worked for so many. But look where we are now! We are an unrespected nation locked into two wars and in the midst of a terrible financial crisis. FAITH, HOPE, PEACE, UNDERSTANDING and PATIENCE always triumph in the end. Change is constant and inevitable...it is the flux and flow of the universe and should be embraced, not scorned. Those with true faith, those who live in Christ-consciousness understand this, and we walk together in faith, not fear.

After Nov. 4, I just pray and hope that everything will be fine. If U say anything I would be accused a racist. Black can say anything against White. That is the USA today. Look back under 40 years of the USA history. JFK started the Vietnam War, Pres. Johnson escalated it. We lost, and cost 50.000 lives in the sixties. In the seventies, Pres. Carter's failure in the foreign policy ended it up with almost 400 American hostages. They all were democrats. It took the Republican President to end the Vietnam War (Nixon), and to get the hostages released (Reagan). Young Americans do not care about their country anymore. They spend more than what they earn, and conplain that they are broke because the government does not take care of them. God bless America is all that I can say now. Robert Kaminski.

First advisors sent to Viet Nam were in 1957; Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Care to tell us how he sent troops to another country as a Senator from Massachusetts?
Yeah, Nixon finally got us out of 'Nam, but he helped put us there (he was Vice-President in 1957).
There is very good evidence that the hostages in Iran were held until after the election at the request of Reagan. That message was delivered by George H.W. Bush, during the time he was 'out of touch' in October, 1980 (he couldn't be found anywhere in the USA for about 2 weeks; turns out he was in Paris, negotiating with the Iranians to keep the hostages until after the election in return for some aid to be sent via a third party country, I think Saudi Arabia, which was the original October Surprise. Bush was confirmed in Paris during that time by one of the cab drivers who ferried him around).
Truth hurts, doesn't it? Maybe you should read some more history, but it would only show you where you are wrong. Pity.

I am real curious about who "the messiah's" closest confidants are who will be on his new team? A bunch of Clinton people; a few white guys who ran his political campaign, a couple of liberal governors like Richardson and Napolitano from Arizona. But who are Obama's true friends other than racist jeremiah wright; terrorist Bill Ayers and his wife; Syrain Rezko and who else? We'll have to wait and see who comes out of the woodwork that our left wing media failed to ferret out the past 2 years!

Although Lawrence Summers is more than qualified, the rift with statements he made at Harvard upset a lot of women and quite a few men in and out of academia. Since women and people (of both genders) with higher education were a major factor in pushing Obama over the top, it wouldn't be a smart move to alienate any of them. It's more than being the most qualified. Personality traits, gaffs, and public perception should eliminate him from consideration.

To all that have the negative things to say about PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!!!! You are mad because someone who wants to help everyone have a chance is in the WHITE house. Yes it is called that because you thought that you would never see the day it would have a HUMAN of color living there. Get over yourself thinking that you are the only one who should hold the seat!!!! Maybe now there will be LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL. I never had a problem with the ones you had that screwed up what he is about to fix. Yes!!! everything he does will be pick out and picked on!!!! BUSH F**#ED it up and now he will in time FIX it up. I have never had a problem with anyone's color. That's just ignorent. My problem is with attitudes. Already I am seeing a division with the folks I work with. It has become "he is our presiident". Excuse me but I was under the impression that the president was suppose to be for ALL the people. Not just a select few. If this man is serious about improving life for ALL then he needs to stop making general comments about change which some are taking to mean we finally beat the white man. We are all Americans who owe what we have to those in the begining who lost their lives that enabled the freedoms we have today. No disrespect intended.

      • Posted By: MISSVOICE @ 11/06/2008 11:31:59 AM

I don't think you said anything disrespectful! Yes every president is supposed to be for the people!! But he we want to and hand up not a hand out!!! I have always worked for what I wanted. When it comes to ingnorant it comes in all colors!! And so does crime and greed.

        Thanks
