all Clinton people, wow not thats change.

    • Posted By: naawan @ 11/06/2008 10:17:06 AM

Why Clenton, he was already in the white house, we need new generation to run the show of our country. If Obama was serious in saying about the distribution of wealth then he must appoint people who are still below average in income so that everyone will rise from poverty. Clenton is already rich and stable, why give to him the good paying job? A lot of Americans are qualified to handle this job. Advertise it on Monster.com and a lot of qualified people will apply for this job.

heyjude, its mostly ironic because if a white person were to NOT vote for obama because of his color, this is racist, but if an african american DOES vote for obama because of his color, its fine. hahaha am i the only one that sees anything wrong there. what was is 97% of african americans voted obama hahaha not enough to decide the election but certainly reverse racism.

Anyone who has anything negative to say about the newly elected president Obama needs to just sit down and be quiet. None of us who are making our coments know what good or bad will happen while he is in office. Noone really knows how to perform in any new position until they are actually in the position. More people in the USA wanted a change and that's exactly what we received. If Obama was a White man I would have still voted for him because of his ideas and I myself am a black person.

Y ou are not understanding what is happening here THE ANTI-CHRIST he ISN'T. No read your BIBLE read the entire thing not two or three words and make a FALSE interrupation of them. Or are you saying his the anti-christ because his BLACK how IGNORATE of you. However he is a black man and it is history. Because there are so many people whom are not ready for this change. Yes you wanted a change but not a BLACK PRESIDENT. I know but what did you do in the past when the PRESIDENT was elected you supported him as the president and went on with life. Well you should do the same thing here with this PRESIDENT either support him or ride it out. Because he will be there for the next 4 to 8 years. Let's put our feels aside on this one. And raise above it because the change is here, and here to stay.

      AMEN!!!! That was wonderful!!

  • Posted By: tom343 @ 11/06/2008 8:57:27 AM

Actually he got elected by virtue of the huge amounts of money he was given, the fact that for 8 years we've been subjected to is implicit and explicit Bush bashing, and a peculiar situation where 16% of the population, most of who never votes, voted for him 95%.
Politics being what it is, that huge amount spent to elect him is a bill he is going to have to pay.

    • Posted By: the one @ 11/06/2008 10:14:58 AM

There is nothing that THE PRESIDENT ELECT has to pay back. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but seems that the people who didn't vote for Obama think that he won solely because he was black, when in realality his ideals were just better. And being and African American i agree that his color had something to do with 95% of the black vote, but we as a people would rather vote for one who is white and make a diference than someone who black and does not have our best interest in mind. I know this election maybe difficult for some White Americans to swallow , becuase for the past several hundred years African Americans have mainly followedin this country, but NOW we led, This Election was not about revenge for all on the years we were not allowed to vote, be called a *** openly, or be considered less than human ( 3 fifths on a human). It was about having the OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD AND ONCE ONE HEARS THE IDEALS THEY SHOULD SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. Remember the shoes you are in now are in the shoes that African American have stood in for many, years.

Every time someone is against choice is saying God is wrong he gave us choice. He also said something about you who is without sin cast the first stone. Its sad some teaching are forgotten or not seen any more by those righteous.

    • Posted By: kram @ 11/06/2008 10:12:23 AM

How sad when someone misquotes the scriptures to gain improper results. God was dealing with the area of Adultry when he poised that question, If we are going to bring God into the picture, and we really need to, we must also remember He has told us to be fiscally responsible. we need change, and the change is don't bring God into the equation unless you are willing to take Him at all His word.

love to see people with open minds, and i love to see people who voted for Mccain saying that now, regardless of their vote, they will support the president elect. thats how our once great nation should be, support your leader regardless of your choice. i didnt vote, however i cant understand what the allure of being a conservative. "god is dead" all these conservatives talk about how the Republican platform is based on "Godly" values, well you God-fearing christians, do you forget America was formed by christian-fearing purtitians who only wanted to escape the pursecution they felt at the hand of the Catholics in europe? hahaha the world can be so contridictory and i enjoy life's ironies. wether you voted for Mccain or Obama, wether your conservative or liberal, white, black, gay, straight, pro-life, pro-choice lets all remember we share this nation, and overall we share the world. change may not be coming, but we must open our eyes and realize we are ALL in this together. peace and love.

How do we fix the economy? I think Obama needs a person on his staff that is willing to step up and take a new radical aproach to get our economy going strong again and help all Americans poor or rich. I think the old ways all have been tried and maybe now its time to get tough. I think we need some change fast and and Obama needs a staff to work extra hard to get change by next year not 4 years. We want some change now on all issues and Obama needs help to get it done right with no turning back.

  • Posted By: CarolynBabington @ 11/06/2008 9:50:27 AM

This presidential election was not and should not have been made into a racial issue at all, everyone should have voted for righteousness according to Godly and Biblical principals, i.e., right to life, marriage between a man and a woman (God said in his Word that marriage between people of the same sex is an abomination to Him), banning assault weapons, etc., not leaving everything to choice. The Republican platform was and is based on Godly values, the Democratic platform, sadly is based on pro-choice pretty much across the board. For those who are unaware, the party platform tells us what the candidates will stand for if they emerge victorious and those values become extremely important when it comes to the judges that are put on the bench at every level because they are the people who will enact the laws based on the values in their political platform that will be in effect long after the 4-year term of the President of the United States and many terrible decisions have come from the bench in recent years that uphold abortion, gay rights, gay marriage, etc. , and now unfortunately, we have a new President-elect whose party platform stands for those very things, i.e., pro-choice. The only righteous choice that women have is to not get pregnant in the first place unless they want to have a child and hopefully, unless they are happily married and can provide a whole and loving, nurturing family environment. I believe that many who supported President-elect Obama, never saw his platform or took the trouble to look into what his party stands for. God is pro-life and we all should be as well unless we want to be held accountable by The Lord for every single unborn baby that is murdered via abortion in this country (unless that is necessitated by a viable threat to the mother's life/survival and that choice has to be made to save the mother's life).

I am not opposed to President-elect Obama as a man, he is an excellent speaker and I hope, an honorable, God-fearing man who will make righteous choices in leading this country since he has now won the Presidency of the United States, but I was and still am opposed to the Democratic platform that does not honor Godly principles. Both platforms can be found at www.wallbuilders.com for those who would like to see them.

As it stands now, I will pray for President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden as well as every other government leader in office in this country that they will seek God and His shining path for their lives and the lives of every person in America and around the world so that we may all be blessed...not cursed for murdering babies and our brothers. This is my prayer in Jesus Name, Amen!

    • Posted By: spearson6 @ 11/06/2008 9:55:19 AM

In the bible, it says nothing about marriage being between a man and a woman. It was taken out of context. Much like many things that bible-beating Conservatives tend to claim such as Willock's response below about Obama being the Anti-Christ.

We liberals gave your Conservative Bush a chance and look where it landed us. Give us a chance to redeem his mistakes!

      • Posted By: Willock @ 11/06/2008 10:03:15 AM

I was responding to mccainaltheway's comment and reposted it then put my response. I am not the one that said Obama is the anti-christ. lol.

    • Posted By: basedrum777 @ 11/06/2008 9:59:36 AM

So how did the last 8 years go for you under a very religious president? President elect Obama feels that a persons religion should only dictate their life. Not the lives of those who choose not to believe that religion. The fact of the matter is as a relgious person you should very well know that A) whatever you think is godly is not necessarily everyone's definition and B) you must believe that god gave every man free will and you imposing your beliefs on me stifles my ability to use that free will. So who's in the wrong there? I'll tell you it isn't me.

So many people on here saying it's not about race... but unfortunately it's the black race that's making it a racial issue. Everyone crying about it not being race, so then stop talking about the first BLACK president finally being elected. It's not about race? Where are the PARENTS then of the high school kids who are demeaning and belittling and harassing my 9th grade daughter in high school talking about how WHITEY is going DOWN. I'll agree and I'll repeat what I've read so many times already... slavery was a terrible thing, and so is racism. But our society is so afraid to be politically incorrect that NO ONE talks about reverse racism. Everyone is equal in this country now, and good that they are. Leave it ALONE. Parents need to talk to their children about the rights of ALL mankind, and that includes black parents. I had nothing to do with slavery, I shouldn't suffer for the choices of ignorant people, and neither should my children. And by the way, NOT voting for Obama doesn't make you a racist, either, and by watching the liberal media and hear others in conversation, that is exactly what's implied. I voted for McCain because he has the experience and does not want to run our country into a welfare, socialistic society. He lost, so be it. But I still voted,

    • Posted By: american45 @ 11/06/2008 10:03:51 AM

I really feel bad for your Child!! No one should have to go through anything like that. I Have two children in college, and one in 5th grade, they are being harrassed as well. The white kids say to them their parents didn't vote for Obama because he is Black. And that if Obama is elected something bad will happen. It is a shame that ignorance is still alive!! It should not be about the color of ones skin. I voted for Obama and not because he is black, its because I like it that he is in support of the Middle Class" WORKING " people I think people are going way too far with all the negative comments.

Under the dems we had a balanced budget, low unemployment and and property values were up. Under Bush everything stinks including the llies to put us at war. So i ask are we better off then or will be better now and heal the country with change

  • Posted By: sefusekgala @ 11/06/2008 10:01:41 AM

Americans Made history. None of them can even satrt to imagine how impactful Obama victory is to the World.

We live in a racist, ethnic and sexist word. Black to White, White to Black, it doesnt matter.

Obama victory will heal the whole world of this weaknesses. I have a believe that White people in Africa will be liberated and I'm Black. Yes, I'm not crazy, not all White people in Africa want to only do business in Africa, some of them wants to be Presidents.

I wonder, when will the day come, when a White president is democratically elected by Black voters in say, South Africa or any other African country for that matter.

America has lead, who has the guts to follow.

This victory to me demostrates the maturity of American citizens. All kind of experts have been telling us that people fear change, Americans have proved them wrong, in most cases this authors are Americans as well. I gues Tony Robbins will call it a craving for uncertainty.

As a South African, I can truly say: The World is becoming one.

I bet you that, an African coutry that will make a semilar kind of history, is South Africa. South Africans are very free minded. If South Africa can change its electoral sytem and allow voters to choose their presidents, I bet you any one will become a president.

I congratulate America, you have proven, You are the greatest Nation on earth.

thinkingmom@11/06/08 9:30 It hopefully was not an issue of color that won Senator Obama this election.I would like to think the American electorate is not that superficial. The junior Senator said what the masses wanted to hear. We now will see if words can be put into actions and not completely change the face of our Republic as it was intended to be.

    • Posted By: ztorres @ 11/06/2008 10:01:21 AM

You must be living in lala land if you can honestly say that just about every black person who voted did not vote for Obama because he is black, come on!

  • Posted By: mccainaltheway @ 11/06/2008 9:38:40 AM

Unfortunately Obama wasnt elected by popular vote. He was elected by Electoral vote. If we would have went by the amount of actual votes, McCain would have one. Get rid of the electoral votes and go by actual votes. I my self am afraid the Antichrist was elected. Read your bibles people

    • Posted By: FightIgnorance08 @ 11/06/2008 9:47:23 AM

Actually, Mr. Obama won the popular vote, too. He was elected by the majority of the people.

      • Posted By: BringOnTheChange! @ 11/06/2008 9:59:21 AM

HAHAHA. Read the newspaper! Because obviously you do not pay enough attention to the fact that the popular vote was won by nearly 7 million votes by Obama.

    • Posted By: flygirl22 @ 11/06/2008 9:54:47 AM

If it will make you feel better the Antichrist will be coniving and convincing that Obama. Also, the Bible states that he will be from a different descent. We have to remember that GOD has a higher plan, and we may not ever undestand it.

    • Posted By: Katfre @ 11/06/2008 9:53:17 AM

Just to let you know Obama won the popular vote also. Obama 64,058,828 votes; McCain 56,500,057 votes. Please make sure you have your facts before you talk!

I also feel this Presidential vote was historical not because Obama is black (actually bi-racial) but because the voters were able to overlook the color of the candidates skin and vote for the platforms of the candidates.

    • Posted By: teopa @ 11/06/2008 9:51:01 AM

i am no fan of the electoral college. if you have seen the election results however, you wil note your assertion about the popular vote is not true

  • Posted By: change44 @ 11/06/2008 8:37:19 AM

Comment: lsb @ 11/06/2008 8:26am- I must say President Obama did not get elected because he was black. I think everybody is missing one interesting point. Preisdent Obama is bi-racial. So, we should not view him as being a black/white man. Let's just say he was the right man for the job. We needed him in the White House to get the country back in order. I know a lot of you out their may disagree with my comment, but who cares. Why complian about him becoming President when we accepted the all the wrong doing from our current President. Why isn't anyone talking about that. So, I am assuming since his white nothing he did wrong should be discussed. Well, I have something to say about that. I just believe the world is still faced with racist people. I am tired of white people hating on blacks. Black people has never done anything wrong to anyway. We are the ones who has been mistreated by white people. If anyone should have hate in their hearts it should be African Americans since our ancestors was beaten, raped, hung on trees and children was being sold. All these things were done to black people by white people. Now think about that and tell me who should be mad and have hatred.

    • Posted By: mom2bellalia @ 11/06/2008 8:53:49 AM

I agree Change44, Slavery and Segregation were the most horrible acts of America's history. That being said, I, nor my ancestors, had anything to do with it. Noone should be judged based on race, white or black. I am truly sorry for the past, but hate doesn't help anything for anyone.

      • Posted By: 1blondekt @ 11/06/2008 9:58:39 AM

Unfortunately, I feel that all of this will divide us more, I don't see good things happening to improve race relations in our country anytime soon.

    • Posted By: trdwhtguy @ 11/06/2008 8:46:42 AM

You people (that's right "you people") ignore the fact it was your ancestors in Africa who sold fellow brother and sister Africans into slavery in the first place. I agree slavery was and is wrong. But please put it into perpesctive, and place blame where it belongs.

      • Posted By: mom2bellalia @ 11/06/2008 9:16:49 AM

wow, trdwhtguy...or should I say tard. I think racism needs to be wiped out starting with the likes of you. Salves were not treated horrible when slavery first begain, they were seen as people and were given freedom after 3-4 years just as whites who were sold into slavery from Europe. Only with White Mans' urge to contol did slavery get out of hand and turn ugly. Spaniards held slaves also but racism was not a major thing there and they obviously were more moral than early white Amercans. Slavery was wrong, because people who were supposed to get their freedom after working for a few years were denied that freedom and had their identities taken away... That is white people's fault for taking it that far. How stupid is it to think of being superior because of your skin color?

      • Posted By: soburt @ 11/06/2008 9:10:07 AM

Although that may be true, Africans aquired there slaves during wars b/t one another. When slaves were distributed around the world there was no conflict involved, they were just taken by force, not war trophies. It is so sad that your boggled mind would even conjure up a thing like that. Prisoners of war are one thing, but being taken unvoluntarily is another. Maybe if I put it in the context of young white women being snatched up on spring break in Miami and taken to another country to be sold into a sex trade and never heard from again, you might think a little differently about your statement. Be nice, maybe it will come back to you.

  • Posted By: proud AMERICAN21 @ 11/06/2008 9:17:58 AM

I am sick and tired abount all the racial comments during this election against the white voters. The only reason Obama won was beacause of the the many African Americans who voted in this election that has never voted before. They were not even registerd voters until now. I worked the polls in my state and here are a few facts and opinions....many of them did not know that the had to register to vote, they just showed up and said that they wanted to vote, if they were registered, they did not knoe their correct polling place, they did
not know how to work the voting machines. That is a shame. Now you tell me if you think they voted this year just beacause they had a change of heart and wanted to express their right that they had a chance to to for the
past years, or JUST TO MAKE HISTORY TO HAVE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT WHO DOES NOT
BELIEVE IN THE AMERICAN FLAG OR THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. (YOU DO THE MATH) iF YOU ASK ME ...THAT IS RACIST.

    • Posted By: sagoffin @ 11/06/2008 9:43:37 AM

I think the main reason you saw more voters, regardless of race is that EVERYONE wants change and is tired of our country being run into the ground. I myself am white and I voted for Obama, so did a lot of people I know, even very prejudice people voted for Obama, why, because even though they may be prejudice, their not completely blind or stupid and can see where this country has headed the last 8 years and what it needs to change.

Bottom Line is the people have spoken, Live with it!

It's too bad that Mr. McCain chose the low-road, plus chose Sarah Palin, he may have been a good president; although, now I question his ability to lead since he could not even lead his own campaign down the right road, but was lead by his campaign advisors - what happened to the maverick? And I find it ironic that you say "just wait and see". That's exactly what I said 8 years ago!
