Well, if "Mr. Change We Can Believe In" is not your normal lying politician then he better get some women in the mix. I mean if he is about equality then we need 51% of his staff to be women. Otherwise he is just more of the same...and boy did you get duped!

    • Posted By: mom2bellalia @ 11/06/2008 8:30:56 AM

Jane, Obama has always been on women's side. He has fought hard for equal pay for equal work. Let's hope he's not like McCain and chooses someone just because of her sex and not for her expertise. Tht's what hurt McCain, women are smarter than he believed.

      • Posted By: Jane A. @ 11/06/2008 9:11:34 AM

Ok.... the proof is in the pudding, as they say...when I see 51% of his staff as female I will believe you...

        • Posted By: Jane A. @ 11/06/2008 9:56:07 AM

P.S. Are you saying the only choice is between Sarah Palin and a man? Boy do you have a high opinion of your sex? There are SCORES of intelligent qualified women out there...

Just remember Clinton was the pres before Bush and war was passed down.

    • Posted By: NotaPlumber @ 11/06/2008 8:23:41 AM

And exactly when did Clinton send troops overseas. Get your facts straight. That was Bushes daddy who started the war in Iraq, then we had 8 yrs of the Republicans stalling all politics by making an Impeachment out of a blowjob... instead of running the country. Gotta love it. Then came baby Bush, the alcoholic C student who has brought our country to the lowest point in history.
Obama was a straight A student Harvard Law Review Editor/President... need I say more about qualification comparisons...

      • Posted By: tnnsmm2 @ 11/06/2008 9:54:06 AM

Okay Bush drank and Obama did drugs, that makes him better.

  • Posted By: geomae6 @ 11/06/2008 9:53:59 AM

Republicans lost because they would rather legislate morality than govern the country. I think "Don't Ask-Don't Tell" was not only right for sexual orientation, but should have been extended to include religious beliefs! As far as I'm concerned, the Religious Right practices a form of Christianity that borders on fanaticism and should be banned from politics altogether.

  • Posted By: LawrenceSuperior @ 11/06/2008 9:53:49 AM

52% to 46%...he won the popular vote by a historic margin. He is a thinker, a methodical mind...more important than his views on policy is the thought that he will place in making his appointments, as those are the people who will really have a hand in making the changes we need. I'm looking for appointments of both republicans and democrats, not based on loyalty, but based on their ability to complete the required assignments, as I demand for any employees that I consider for employment

  • Posted By: kcmc2009 @ 11/06/2008 9:53:06 AM

With the economy in such a rut isnt it going to take a great deal of strategy to get it going again? I think the government is going to have to have someone in his staff willing to take a radical aproach to get the economy going again. I think they have tried just about everything can it realy be that hard?

  • Posted By: doctorpaul07 @ 11/06/2008 8:02:36 AM

As a white Republican I would like to offer the following. In channel surfing last night I hit on BET (Black Entertainment TV) and I was actually pleased. The message was that Barak Obama was a new role model for Black youth, and it is now cool to be smart. I agree that political differences aside, Barak Obama is very intelligent, and this intelligence is blended with his youth which makes him an impressive figure and one that Black youth can be very proud of. I liked the message, as it is indeed cool to be educated, productive, and smart and I sincerely hope that Black American youth take this to heart.

    • Posted By: tnnsmm2 @ 11/06/2008 9:52:40 AM

Obama is a very dynamic individual, hopefully our youth do not follow his path of drugs, etc. of his youth thinking that it is okay because look he his President now!

Please not John Kerry for SOS...Bill Richardson yes...not John...he's so wishy-washy. President - elect Obama does not have time to bask in the glory of being elected to the highest office in the nation. He needs to get down to business right away. I just wish we'd have cleaned house in the senate and house of rep. Some of that blood is way too old and we need fresh ideas to support the Change that this country needs.

    • Posted By: eagles1776 @ 11/06/2008 9:52:35 AM

I toatally agree. John Kerry is too wishy washy. We need someone decisive at this critical time in our history and John Kerry is not that. My selection would be Richardson. He has the credentials and he is Hispanic. The two birds with one stone thing if you know what i mean..

The MAIN job of a President is to keep us SAFE. Without being safe and being alive, nothing else matters. Say whatever you want about President Bush, he performed his main responsiblity. Talk to me at the end of Obama's term and if we have been safe, then I will let you know what kind of president he was.

    • Posted By: mom2bellalia @ 11/06/2008 9:09:02 AM

yeah sure, he definitely went after and killed Bin Laden like he should have huh?

      • Posted By: NStuff2 @ 11/06/2008 9:51:57 AM

were still looking for him. But i think YOU might be better at it so you have my VOTE. Now Go get Osama the country is behind you. Maybe Obama will give him a hug

  • Posted By: etown @ 11/06/2008 9:51:45 AM

no President-elect Obama is not going to fix anything he is changing the way America is viewed. Barack Obama is not the murderer, nor is he responsible for those who commit heinous crimes, we as a people must fix and heal our country Barack is just a symbol of what can be accomplished if we put aside race and hatred and work together for the common good. Criminals will be criminals, how they are punished makes all the difference in the world. Washington politics---yes a change is coming.

  • Posted By: kjsmith127 @ 11/06/2008 9:51:33 AM

Thank you ROCKERMO! Obama is the President elect! We need to come together and support him and pray that this country can make a comeback! Regardless of who you voted for, or if you did not vote at all! Tuesday night was historic in that we chose a leader for his character not for his race. That is a cause to celebrate!

But, I drove to work today and saw a "CHANGE" lawn sign vandalized to read "HANG!" I live in suburban community in South Florida! DISGUSTING!
Obama called on the american people for our help! This is not how we support the new President of the United States of America! Everyone must give him a chance to change this country, but not expect it to happen overnight, before he is even sworn in!

I am still hopeful for change and new attitudes, Obama proved this, YES WE CAN!

  • Posted By: mathwatcher @ 11/06/2008 9:51:28 AM

    Good Grief!
    Odds on is not 2:1!

  • Posted By: ramen @ 11/06/2008 9:40:16 AM

I am a republican but I voted for Obama because #1 I feel a change of thinking is needed for this country to break away from a war-centered spending to an internal restructuring. I also feel that due to the medical backgroundof McCain, if something happended to him, Sarah Palin does not have the experience in leadership needed to be in the most powerful position of this country at a time like this.

    • Posted By: flygirl22 @ 11/06/2008 9:51:08 AM

Oh, talking abotu experince. Obama is sooo experinced. He has been a commnuity organizer and a senate for 134 days before announcing he would be running for President of our beloved country. Did you know that working for McDonald's for 134 days does not qualify you to apply for manager?

  • Posted By: retired357 @ 11/06/2008 8:00:32 AM

Seems as though there are some SORE losers out there. It could have been any Democrat running against Senator McCain and they would have won. Take a look around and tell me that the country is better off than it was 8 years ago.
To set up and say that he's an Arab American or a Black American is sour grapes. Tell the truth; the
candidate with the better plan won. McCain didn't have a plan or a vision of what or where America would be
in 10, 15, 20 years. McCain's and Palin's plan was to attack, attack, attack President-Elect Obama. Their actual plan was to continue with the present administration policies and the country was not about to take the crap for 4 more years.
What we have ahead of us is a tremendous task. The economy, healthcare and the healing of relations abroad in that order lay ahead.

    • Posted By: tnnsmm2 @ 11/06/2008 9:50:29 AM

I have a hard time believing that the right person won when you look at facts

      Body count:
      As of July 2008
292 killed (murdered) in Chicago area
221 killed in the country of Iraq.
      Chicago.... Who runs it?
Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
      Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,
      Illinois Gov: Rod Blagojevich,
      Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,
Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),
Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)
      ..our leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats.
Of course, they're all blaming each other! Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!
State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
      http://www.thehawkeye.com/Story/i0543-BC-IL-FinancialMeltdown-10-28-0437
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. http://cbs2chicago.com/local/cook.county.tax.2.760731.html
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. Rating 3 out of 10

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he's
Going to fix Washington politics for us?

  • Posted By: Luna_Raynar @ 11/06/2008 8:59:48 AM

Have all of you who DID NOT vote for Obama not realized he didn't win that election and turn states like VA from red to blue states because of the color of his skin!! That kind of thinking is why the Republicans LOST!! We as AMERICANS were looking for that ray of HOPE!! I've never seen so many as emotional and proud and hopeful as when JFK was around. We voted for him because he touched our hearts and minds!! All McCain gave us was fear and intimidation and racism, all the things from our past as a nation that we are trying to RISE ABOVE!!

    • Posted By: zinka @ 11/06/2008 9:50:28 AM

This is true. He is young and the can talk. But looked what happened to JFK. Yes we made history. In the long run who really is going to be running the Country?

  • Posted By: peace*2005 @ 11/06/2008 9:50:02 AM

The Anti-Christ is the devil and how can you say that this man is the devil. Is it because he is Black. Well lets not get it twisted. Since you said the Anti-Christ let look at it If it not been for the Lord on his side he wouldn't be PRESIDENT and wouldn't have been elected. The Electrol vote determine the out come TRUE... But he still would have came out on top even if ever vote had been counted.... Face it the change is here and it may not have been the change you as individuals were looking for be it's here and for the next 4 to 8 years it what we have. Don't show your prejustice show how you can support him as PRESIDENT as you have done in the pass with every other candidate that has ran and won.... After an election there is a quiteness in the air. Becuase there are so many people that aren't ready for a BLACK PRESIDENT but we have one now. Look at the man not the color of the man. And just like all the previous PRESIDENTS were given a chance just for once why not do the same for this PRESIDENT.

  • Posted By: Willock @ 11/06/2008 9:49:59 AM

Yeah, Obama won by ~7.5 million votes on the National count.... Please put your bible down and take 1 minute to check your facts before you post comments.

  • Posted By: cfrancis34 @ 11/06/2008 9:49:46 AM

COME ON FOLKS, listen up, You have a NEW President, duly elected by the majority of the people in the United States, lets get off this mind set of Red States, Blue States and think like Obama does, THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. The change he spoke of will not come overnight, he hasn't even been sworn in yet so President Bush is still calling the shots until Jan 20. McCain lost the election, the majority of the people did NOT want him for President or he would have been elected. Now, lets join together and make this Country a better place to live in.

What role will Hillary Clinton have in the Obama Administration? Has President Elect Obama considered Senator Clinton at all?

    • Posted By: puppetobama @ 11/06/2008 9:49:30 AM

She will be nominated for the Supreme Court. It was part of the deal for the Clintons'support

    • Posted By: dashinglarry @ 11/06/2008 9:34:43 AM

I think Hillary Clinton would be better positioned as Obama's right hand woman in the Senate and not in his cabinet. He needs a strong ally in the legislative wing to push his plans forward.

  • Posted By: kasey1442 @ 11/06/2008 9:48:05 AM

    Heyjude20
    get your head out!

Sen obama is a God sent to America, so citizen of america should work with him.

    • Posted By: flygirl22 @ 11/06/2008 9:46:27 AM

Hopefully you meant that Obama is a God Send and nto a God sent because he is NOT a God. And why woudl God send a man who supports killing his innocent children everyday and defy marriage between man and woman the way the ONE AND TRUE GOD meant it to be!

    • Posted By: xman300 @ 11/06/2008 9:37:59 AM

There is only 1 GOD and Obama is far from being Him.

    • Posted By: xman300 @ 11/06/2008 9:34:14 AM

I have 2 words for you, "Nicolae Carpathia". If you have read the "Left Behind" series, you know what I am talking about.
