    To proud AMERICAN21:
First of all get your facts right. If you know anything about the politic system, you would know that it was not Black votes that but PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA in the White House it was the WHITE VOTE THAT DID IT.
NOW THAT SHOWS CHANGE AND THAT IS WHAT EVERY AMERICAN WANTED NOT JUST THE AFRICAN AMERICAN BUT ALL AMERICANS. proud AMERICAN21 you sound like you are from the deep south (Arkansas or Kentucky). I'm a African American from the Great Natural State Of Arkansas. It also sounds like you just listen to what people told you instead of finding out for your self. How many Blacks are in Iowa (Remember he won that state which is only 2% black) Now you do the math.

I would very much l;ike Robert Rubin to take the post os Secretary of Treasury. He is a deficit hwk. We really need to reign federal spending in. I think he would take a carefull approach to tax increases probably targeting thenm to the super weathy.

People, Get over it!!! Obama is President! And for some of you who don't know, the black voters didn't get him Elected! Blacks only make up for 12%.in the US. So lets move forward. It is time to put all the negative comments behind and work together as Americans!!! Why is everything always about the color of someones Skin? Obama is a man, just like the other 43 Presidents!!!

To Heyjude20: Is there a point to your post? His birth certificate has already been posted on line. Aside from that your post shows why "your side" lost so clearly. Ignorance is bliss, but in your case, Nirvana.

I think it is ridiculous to think thee election turned out the way it has. All this guy has advertised is there will be a change," well" what is that? This was a media elected president. Thanks to all who influenced it..You've just elected a socialist terrorist sponsored by the one and only screwed up United States of America.

    • Posted By: lilly2 @ 11/06/2008 7:58:28 AM

each person in the media had one vote so did u....we elected Barack Obama not John McCain. WE THE PEOPLE!

      • Posted By: mccainaltheway @ 11/06/2008 9:34:16 AM

Problem is, is that we didnt elect Obama. The electoral votes elected Obama. If we went by actual votes, he wouldnt have won at all. Get rid of the electoral votes and lets count actual vote for vote. Then we'll see who comes out on top. I am afraid the antiChrist was just elected. NOT BY POPULAR VOTE but BY ELECTORAL VOTE

    • Posted By: lilly2 @ 11/06/2008 7:59:37 AM

each person in the media had one vote so did u. WE THE PEOPLE elected Barack Obama one vote at a time.

I wish President-elect Obama the best. No, he did not get my vote, but I will pray for him as I do all of our leaders. I do hope he sees that the people spoke in two areas quite clearly...that they want a change from the stagnation of government and a better hope for an economic future, but at the same time it was clearly stated across the board that we are sick and tired of judges legislating from the bench on social issues and we do not want them compassionately going against our will as expressed in our vote....with an overwhelming turnout of all classes of people. We do not want a return to Clinton social policies and that is why Mr. Obama did not get my vote.

What about Hilliary as Secretary of State? I think "they" owe her one...

I really hope that we can all stop referring to Obama's color as an issue. I personally do not see color, I see the person. However, if you want to get that specific, he is not American's first Black President, he is America's first president of mixed parental race.

How will we ever as a nation get over the racial issue, if we continue to keep bringing it up at every chance we get.?
We are not the greatest nation on this planet, but we have the potential to be. When we start looking at each other as equals and make sure that everyone of our citizens accesses health care, adequate and wholesome food, and safe housing. When we insure that every citizen in America has access to quality and free education up until graduate school, then and only then will we be the greatest nation.

    Hopefully Obama can do it!

You're 100% right regarding mentioning color.....
That keeps us separate....We are the HUMAN RACE...
      Signed a WHITE REPUBLICAN ....

I really do not like Secretary Gates hanging on. I think his thoughts are not in tune with President Obama. I think Chuch Hagel would make a dynamite sectretary. He has always opposed wastefull spending and takes a pragmatic approach to goriegn conflict.

  • Posted By: trixie02 @ 11/06/2008 9:31:06 AM

I really like to potential; of John Kerry at the Stae Department. He has years of experience on the foreign relations committee. I think he would bring valuable experience to the young president elect.

Jaycmut I read your comments and all I can say is thank you for your comments. I am getting tired already of all the people who want to bash an administration that has not gotten started yet. During his campaign, PRESIDENT OBAMA showed such grace under fire and during this time that is what we needed most. I did vote for Obama because I believed he was the better candidate. Rather he were black, white, or pink; I researched both candidates and voted for who I believed would do the better job. I do not dislike McCain, but I do believe that mistakes were made in his campaign that caused me to question his leadership skills. Anywho, Obama is now the President of the United States and its time for all of us RED BLOODED AMERICANS TO RALLY BEHIND HIM!!

This presidency is not about race. As Barak Obama is actually bi-racial if people will remember the pictures of his mother and grandparents. Barak Obama has never made this about race, the people have. It's done, He is the President-elect, now let's support our choice as a nation and pray for wisdom and courage as he begins to face the challenages set forth in front of him beginning on day one.

He should pick Richardson for Secretary of State and either Summers or Rubin for Treasury Secretary. Corzine isn't getting Treasury Secretary.

Day after Obama got elected my employer promptly laid off 600 in our steel plant in Ohio. The Rich will recoup the losses confiscating their money by mass layoffs and concessions from those who remain.

People ask what kind of change Obama will bring? Change is here America. World has seen that America is still a Land of Oppertunity If you have the skills and the courage. Change has made and History is unfolding another page now. So excited to be a part of it.

Thank God and Obama that the Old South is Dead!!! The American people voted and let me remind you that White Americans wanted a change as well as Black Americans. We have been supporting white presidents for every so support Obama!!!

    • Posted By: proud AMERICAN21 @ 11/06/2008 8:57:49 AM

The majority of African Americans did not support our white presidents in the past. They were not even registered voters until this election, so they supported no one. It is a shame when you are at least 30 years old and never voted in the past 12 years. I worked the polls in my state and half of them did not even that you had to register to vote (they just showd up to vote), did not know their polling location, or know how the voting machines worked. Now, That is a shame. They jumped on the band wagon so they could make history. The only problem is that the history will be the fall of the UNITED STATES. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN VOTE FOR A PERSON WHO REFUSES TO ACKKOWLEDE THE "PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE" OR THE AMERICAN FLAG.

      • Posted By: mom2bellalia @ 11/06/2008 9:27:13 AM

Are you blind and deaf "proud Amrican"? Obama has never forgotten his pin in this last crucial months, but I never saw McCain with one on... As for the Pledge of Alliegence, I watched him as he said it live. Wathc the news and educate yourself.

The south has not died, you should come to alabama and listen how dangerous it's getting. I say let this man do his job, I don't care his color, I'm a minority too, he is the only hope we have during these sad times the country is going through. The people voted their next president and that means a lot, they went through color, race and range, they voted for a hope. As a christian I feel the need to remind to all the southern who are against this guy, don't judge and I should say don't pre judge, this is the moment to work all together no matter your color, race, backround or status, the country is seriously harmed, let's pray together to be able to join our hearts and bodies to heal this blessed land. There's no time for hate, or revenge, we have to pull all together, God's at our side, who could beat us?

What about General Wes Clark for SecDef? Have a look at his credentials; he is an ideal candidate for SecDef.

It is a shame, when people use racial slurs, no matter if they are black or white or any other nationality. If this man is supposedly a man of the people of the United Ststes, does it matter about his color. But if you look at his birth certificate, his father is listed as Arab not Black. We know he is half white. So what, but I feel like I was cheated because McCain was the better choice.

  • Posted By: ablincon @ 11/06/2008 9:26:26 AM

He should ask his buddy Mr. "Boss" to write a new song titled "MAY BE born in the USA" for his inauguration. I guess we don't even need to meet the constitutional requirements to be a president in America any more. I guess it is Arnold Schwarzenegger's turn then to be the next president.
