This is nuts. Maybe that was the plan all along. Elect Obama, he doesn't have the expierence, bring in this old career politicians so that they can run things as THEY want! People just don't get it. When you bring in these people that are all members of David Rockfellers "Council on Foreign Realtions" such as Kerry, Richardson, Powell, either Clinton, even McCain (the list goes on and on). This is change? Change for the worst. What have we done here by electing Obama? Change is going to happen with any of these jokers being put into positions.

Comment: I am an American, not an African American, not a Cuban American, not a Mexican American, but an American born here, raised here and will probably die here. There have been wars since the beginning o time because humans are hungry for power and wealth. If not in Iraq then possibly here in America again like our civil wars. Obama might be able to bring peace for a short time with other countries while they listen to him talk but eventually it will come again and very likely in our own country. I hate war....I come from a long line of military desendents, one even a prisioner of war for 4 years, war rarely solves much. We fought the Mexicans in 1846-48 and now they dominate a lot of America. We lost a lot of men and women. But I would rather see a war absent from this country. Democrat or Republican......neither one have been able to stop the relentless greed that the government of this country or any other county seeks after. Greed is not going away....like a disease it will spread through Obama's congress and, democracy will give way to less morals, very few values and a country of arrogant, uncompassionate people. We will now hope for the Christian way of life to comfort us, as it too fades away.

I think Obama should give Hillary Clinton a post to the next cabinet. She is tough enough for the post of general attorney

Obama came into the election as a young, inexperienced candidate and will assume the presidency as a young, inexperienced president. Any of the men whose names were suggested as possible cabinet members will have many more years of political and governing experience than our new president. As such, who really will be running our country, calling the shots, and making the "big" decisions? I can bet it won't be the person who won the election by an electoral "landslide" (but not a stunning popular vote)!

And who ran the country when George W. Bush was on watch? He was said to have had the experience to get the job done. No one I believe walks into any position being all knowing and ready to take on the challenges of that position without consultation and review of the current agenda, climate, policies, procedures and direction in which the organization should go. Based upon the way President elect Obama's campaign was so well organized and on point it would be difficult to see that same judgement and organization/purposefulness not being carried forward into the Whitehouse.

It's very rare to see ignorance as prominent as this. You used words like bigot which is what should be used to describe you. Someone other than white you say, well what other race is there if all you care about is the white race (BIGOT). If you looked at the election results, you'll find that he has an enormous amount of white votes as well. You have no merit to this book you just wrote, and you definitely don't deserve to be an AMERICAN!!!!!!!!

John Kerry would be a politically wise choice, but I think the best choice for Secrerary of State would be Johm McCain. Senator McCain has nothing left to prove in his Senatorial career and has the international experience to be a fine Secretary of State. His foreign policy differences with the Bush camp are significant enough to warrant the notion that policy would be one of 'change.' He is a wise man with enough experience an commitment to the welfare of the United States of America to be the best Secretary of State since Kissinger. I don't hold any sort of hope that such an offer would be extended, but I think President-Elect Obama couldn't make a wiser choice for the post.

I think your picks are good for a number of reasons. Any of these men would be send a strong signal that American foreign policy is headed in the right direction under strong leadership. All have the charachteristics needed to be Secretary of State. I was surprised by the omission of some contenders for the nomination: Hilary Clinton, Chris Dodd, and John Edwards to name but a few. All of whom combine the characteristics I just mentioned in addition to commitment to a renewed foreign policy that does away with mere unilateralism and looks forward to building American influence through prestige and negotiation.

will he change the foriegn polcy ? I think no

  • Posted By: buck shot @ 11/06/2008 5:11:17 AM

will he make a difference? who knows... I think it will depend on who he appoints to his cabinet.. that will be the big challenge and the key to success or failure... it will take a little time to see what happens. now lets quit messing around in Iraq and Afaganistan, kick some butt, find and kill Bin Laden, and get out of there. we have plenty of other problems to take care of. bring our people home to their loved ones.

    • Posted By: sadersh @ 11/06/2008 5:57:49 AM

I don't think so that he will change the foriegn policies which have neeb adopted by the Bush,

I am an afghan. Obama or McCain? Will now it is obvious, Obama is the next President. Before my living in Europe, I had not understood the benefits of democracy. Now I really cherish democracy. But the kind US and Europe implemented in Afghanistan, where still people like Kambakhsh go to jail for 20 years, just for expressing their views. I want a strong Obama and West, who quits hypocrisy and works really to democratise the countries where the troops are already present. Or simply pull out and stop preaching around. I was surprised when I went to Afghanistan. Is this what the Afghan and US and many foreign troops are getting killed for: Sharia Law?? Karzai, stop being hypocrite, too. You play on both horses, the Western and Islamic. batoonimajnoon@hotmail.com

The American people are unforgiving if we were given a "crock". We will know in 2 years with the next congressional elections. If we believe him then the democracts will continue in Congress if we dont then the Repbblicans will control.
