heyjude20****** i can not be more agreed with you!!!!. most of these people don't know what vote means. since they voted, now they must be waiting for the check that obama promised take from the welthy to give it to the lazies that don't want to work. i don't think it was something wise to do. obama is going to be in a lot of trouble with america, because he is not going to be able to do all what he promised.

Say what you want to say about me being racist. I'm only playing the game that black people have been playing for years. I am so sick and tired of the blacks crying about slavery. The older generations that were alive during slavey have more respect for each other because they are thankful things in America have changed. It is the younger generations that think they are owed something because their grandparents were slaves. The white people today did not put the blacks through slavery nor did the blacks today go through slavery. So please SHUTUP your whining about your freedom. You people have so much freedom it's unreal. Black people everywhere will loudly voice their hatred towards white people and make their jokes about us "crackers" or "honkies", or "hillbillies" (which I must say should be as disrespectful as calling someone a "***" ) but do the white people cause riots and scream racism when we are called one of those. NO! Everywhere you go there is all black tv stations, all black radio stations, magazines, sitcoms........ BUT if the white people were to have any "all white"....ding ding ding.....you guessed it...we are being racist!!!!!

Look, I am a young black american and I "KNOW" that nothing is owed to me except for what i earn as a man. Many people, whether they might be white, black or whatever color from the marker box you want to pick, have a sense of their own heritage. I am also tired of all americans finding a reason or words to hide the hate that lies in their own heart. Every race has their own culture that another race may not feel is acceptible in their personal households, and it is up to us as a people to find a common ground. It takes strong parents of every race to advise their children how to make their own race strong without the use of such tactics like hate or envy as well as teaching them how interact with others to grow strong as a country. America, this election was just a 1st in history and we all can be strong seperate but just think how strong we could be without the deep hatred of someone else's opinion. Arguements like these help people see their own faults and mistakes and when we know it and see it from our own eyes, it is the 1st step leading to change.

        Excellent, intelligent post. Well said.

WOW there are older people around who lived during slavery??
Do you know some of them personally? How come I never see Willard Scott
wishing THEM happy birthday--143 years or so since Emancipation. Was it History
class or Math that you were out in the school yard smoking?

Hey Jacka$$ I am referring to how blacks used to be treated like in the 50's & 60"s when they were forced to use different restrooms and signs were posted everywhere saying "no nigr0s allowed" and "whites only". They were forced to sit in the back of the bus and so on. Those are the things my grandmother tell me about. She tells me all the time about the time her and a black friend were going to ride the bus together into town and the black girl was told she wasn't allowed on the bus so my grandmother walked everyday into town with her friend. Because she didn't think it was fair that she could ride and her friend had to walk just because of their color. My grandmother and that black lady (Mrs. Ethel Williams) are still good friends today and both of them hate this racism our generation has once again created. My grandmother has respect for what the blacks had to go through but she can not stand how the young black generation today think they should be given a handout and have the right to scream racism everytime something doesn't go their way or a white person does them wrong.

Proud American....you said a mouthful. Few of us "whites" have racist veiw points anymore but we take issue when some black person calls attention to something the consider a pudown. Most probably was never a putdown but is interpretted as such. And you are so correct about all the exclusive black organizations. We whie people can't do that because its called desrimination.
I for one believe that if Mr. O were not black he would have never gottewn the nomination. And he would still have won it if he were on the Republican ticket. To have made that a fair race and to have a black President we should have had a black on each ticket. Only then would it have been a fair race. Most of the first time voters had no idea what they were voting for except that he is black.. I fear for our country.

THEY CARE ABOUT FREE THINGS. HANDOUTS. AND THESE IDIOT YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM - THEY JUST WANTED TO BE A PART OF HISTORY - THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEIR VOTE DID FOR THIS COUNTRY. I HOPE THEY ARE PREPARED TO BE LIVING IN A HOMELESS SHELTER SOON

we will never accept diversity in different cultures until we accept the diversity in ourselves. there are good white people, and bad white people, good black and bad, as well as yellow, red, brown, etc. If you are willing to say that ALL black people are like this, or that all white people are like that, you are missing out on an opportunity to see the goodness that lies inside someone that doesnt look like you.
BTW...I am of multi cultural descent...seen as too black for many white people, and too white by many blacks.

I HAVE ALL CONFIDENCE IN OUR PRESIDENT ELECT THAT HE WILL GET OUR COUNTRY OUT OF THE SLUMP THAT WE ARE IN AND BRING BACK OUR JOBS AND KEEP THEM HERE, I ALSO BELIEVE THAT HE WILL MAKE SURE WE WILL HAVE HEALTH CARE. HE IS NOT JUST FOR THE RICH BUT FOR THE COMMON EVERYDAY WORKING PEOPLE..

Oh wait let me see - just because someone sits in a chuch with minister spewing anti everything for 20 years does not make you an bad person? No wonder this country is in the shape that it is in

    • Posted By: SJackson23 @ 11/06/2008 5:02:59 PM

Have you viewed the attendance report for the last 20 years? Do you know for a fact that he actually agreed with every statement made by Wright?

    • Posted By: toria34 @ 11/06/2008 3:48:35 PM

      Heyjude20

It was republican for the last 8 years and all white President that have been running the country for the last how many years. So are you say they did a bad job. This is the First Man of a different nationality that has accepted the job of President and he hasn't served one day. He was just hired for the job and accepted. Now let see what he can do. Oh by the way America and it's citizens has found him worthy so who are you to say any different.

  • Posted By: SJackson23 @ 11/06/2008 5:00:13 PM

Predominately black neighborhoods may have more violence, however please do not ignore the violence and crime that occurs in predominately white neighborhoods. When news reporters, provide various stories on school shootings, meth labs, and etc???. those crimes happen in predominately white neighborhoods. Please do not act as if crime and violence is exclusive to black neighborhoods.

And you have no reason to be afraid of African Americans. They are human beings just like you are. If I were to adopt an attitude similar to yours, I guess I should be afraid to go into white neighborhoods because they may lynch me. Sounds pretty ridiculous, right?

I'm also a YOUNG BLACK individual and I don't feel that you OWE ME ANYTHING...

  • Posted By: Heyjude20 @ 11/06/2008 4:43:15 PM

    Praise the Lord Proud American

Ebony magazine, Ms. Black America, BET, Black History Month, all black Howard University, comics making racial remarks about white people over and over again - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - White people are so afraid to say anything about black people why? because the first thing black people say is "I am getting Al Sharpton here"! Give me a freaking break! And yes, young black people think the world owes them a living - SORRY - WE OWE YOU NOTHING - Unfortunately white people are the slaves now to black people- welfare, affirmative action, racisim against whites, your violent propencities and loud mouths.

I believe the biggest issue we have in this country is ignorance. To say something without researching it first. Making conclusion without fundametal truth to it We are all equally americans in this country. Because technically, Every race that exist in this country (with the exception of native americans) is not american historically. In our bloodline we have traces of some european heritage or other non- american country.
So what does this mean? that your average white person's roots are of european descent. That's make them immigrants. What an irony!

We do not need to bail out Wall Street or the car companies. We need to bring out business back to America, foreget about China, India, Vietnam, Mexico, bring out companies and jobs back to the US

  • Posted By: ChristianDemocratRetiredMilitary @ 11/06/2008 3:49:57 PM

To the people who say "he is not my president" -Democrat, Republican or otherwise. Read your history. Democracy has been found to be the easiest way to change governments without blood in the streets! I am a Democrat, but was thankful and dutifully served many Republican and Democratic Presidents I didn't "Like", but myself and many other men and women have served not only in the military, but in other roles making this a better place to live in..fire, police, government, charity fully understanding that if you don't want to make it better than leave.... We all know it is not a perfect country, but if you can't do anything better than to be bitter...leave. AMERICA LOVE IT,...WORK TO MAKE IT BETTER....OR LEAVE IT.

Hey PurpleIce...I think your idea of asking McCain to be Secretary of State is an excellent idea for the exact reasons you wrote, plus it's right up McCain's alley. Smart politics. You should be a strategist.

    • Posted By: azjz @ 11/06/2008 3:45:24 PM

You've been watching too much West Wing. McCain would be terrible. He has no patience and State is one place where you need to keep your cool.

  • Posted By: mbasurto @ 11/06/2008 1:20:50 AM

Secretary- Richardson he has the experience as a diplomat Defence Hagel he is the only GOP with intellegence, Treasury Buffett go figure, and AG Napolitano someone who knows the law

    • Posted By: azjz @ 11/06/2008 3:44:16 PM

Napolitano has to stay in Arizona for two more years or else a Republican takes over. I think Janet will stay in Az and then be offered a supreme court seat when one opens up.

  • Posted By: rosoce @ 11/05/2008 10:26:25 PM

Please, please, please do not make John Kerry Secretary of State! First of all he is lobbying for it...it's an appointment wait to be asked! That he is lobbying for it seems to indicate he has a personal agenda. Maybe he is trying to shore up his weak spine like he did during his campaign by going out hunting and wind surfing. Or maybe he is trying to shore up his creditability and run for pres in'12? In any event DON'T DO IT!!

    • Posted By: azjz @ 11/06/2008 3:42:05 PM

Seconded -- John Kerry is the Elysee Palace and not the State Department. We need Bill Richardson - a hard nosed, charming but realistic diplomat. We need someone the countries overseas will respect. Kerry is too patrician and snooty.

    • Posted By: azjz @ 11/06/2008 3:39:18 PM

I agree -- If Obama wants the Elysee Palace as his State Departmenr - Kerry is the way to go. Richardson has the background, the tenacity and the patience and would be a Sec State that other countries would respect. Kerry only has to look down his patrician nose once, and that will turn the Brits off, and the Europeans not to mention the arab world.....

So many issues, so little time.....

First, I voted for and am proud to support PE Obama. I'm a mid 40's single white female. I could never support Palin. She and I aren't even on the same planet in our views. McCain isn't much closer.

1 - Having lived in MA I know John Kerry to be an honest and honorable man. His votes on issues follow the wishes of the constituents who elected him. Even so I researched him heavily before voting for him in the Pres election. I found no reason not to.

2 - Gore should definitely be involved because of his knowledge and work on the environment and energy as well as the good relationships that he has fostered on behalf of this country.

3 - Everything related to religion needs to be taken out of governmental control. Abortion, GLBT choices, who you can marry, etc. That little detail so often overlooked by so many.... Can you say "Separation of church and state"? BTW if you are so into God why aren't you more concerened about taking better care of the earth and the creatures inhabiting it that your Bible says he created? That alone would remove McCain/Palin from your options. And you should be heavily into "socialism" as your brother's keeper.

4 - If you can't support yourself you shouldn't be having children. This isn't rocket science.

5 - The Clintons are very intelligent and business savvy people. They could be an asset in many ways.
