"Concerned Canadian": In an earlier posting you said "we Canadians just voted in..."

Are you entitled to vote in our election, or are you just 'helping'?

Having looked at the same old postings you keep pasting on these sites, you look more like you're part of the R propaganda machine that has been spamming us all, since McC sold out to the rightwing, with those countless viral emails filled with smears, hate, innuendo, lies and propaganda.

The funniest part of all of this to me is that Palin will return to Alaska with her tail between her legs. She might try for a run in 2012, but Guiliani and Romney and whomever else vies for the Republican nomination will absolutely tear her apart. I can???t wait to see it.

Can we get this named as a disease so we can get meds? After at least four hours of TV, two blogging the news cites and God knows how many talking with friends about this election, I'm going to need some.
    Major.

Take heart campaign junkies. The moment the next POTUS steps away from the podium after taking the oath, his campaign for re-election begins. Every decision he makes for the next four years will be made with one thing in mind. What effect will this decision have on my chances for re-election. Oh yeah, and after that it'll be that "what's best for the country" thing.

  • Posted By: Kazzz @ 10/31/2008 2:09:55 PM

    Withdrawal?

Remember that Barack expects all of us to remain connected. He's gonna work that campaign email list to get everyone involved and informed about decisions. When there is a roadblock, we will all know about it and contact our local congressmen/senators.

    FUN QUOTES FROM PALIN
I got all of these quotes off of google quotes
You really couldn't make up this kind of stuff up if you wanted to
This all part of the reason why so many important republicans have been saying she
    is a joke

When asked about her foreign policy experience she said
"As Putin rears his head," she said, referring to Russian prime Minister Vladimir Putin, "and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border."
TELLING THE TRUTH FOR A CHANGE SHE HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT HER RUN FOR VP
"It's time that normal Joe Six-Pack American is finally represented in the position of vice-presidency"
WHEN ASKED TO NAME ONE SUPREME COURT DECISION AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SHE CAME UP WITH THIS ANSWER
"I'm in that sense a federalist, where I believe that states should have more say in the laws of their lands and individual areas"
when asked again to name one decision she responded
"Well, let's see. There's -- of course -- in the great history of America rulings there have been rulings"
When asked about being a redneck she said
"Someone called me a `redneck woman' once. You know what I said back? `Thank-you very much.'"
when asked what promises she might not be able to keep
"How long have I been at this, like five weeks? So there hasn't been a whole lot that I've promised, except to do what is right..."

Talking to dobson about prayer she said
"It is that intercession that is so needed and so greatly appreciated," Palin told Dobson. "And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation."

When asked about being a environmentalist she originally said
"I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity."
when asked again later if she thought people had a impact on global warming
"Show me where I have ever said that there's absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change,"
    asked about voting she said
"I truly believe that the wisdom of the people will be rebuilt on [Election Day]. As they enter that voting booth, they will understand the stark contrast between the two tickets,"
when asked how mccain did at his first debate
"I just thought he was great, because the American people are angry, and John McCain is angry, too
when asked about tina feys imitation of her she said
"I watched it with the volume all the way down," Palin said. "I thought it was hilarious."

IS SHE KIDDING IS THIS WHOLE THING A JOKE
IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE SOMEONE COULD BE THIS CLUELESS
SOMEONE THAT THINKS THEY COULD RUN THE COUTRY NOW LESS
VOTE OBAMA BIDEN NOW AND SEND HER BACK TO ALASKA

I find it amusing that folks feel the calling a candidate by his full name is somehow a volley.

I love the guys name, as much as I admire the guy himself. He embodies everything our country is: a melting pot of hope where everyone has the ability to become a self-actualized success regardless of their beginnings. For me, when I hear or read his name lobbed out there by someone trying to stir up division, I here it like this: Barack Who's Sane Obama :o)

How to bring down a democracy: the steps toward totalitarian rule, in the order followed by Hitler and the Nazi Party???SEE IF THEY DON???T SOUND FAMILIAR.

    1. Improvise an attack (or take advantage of an attack) on the country
    2. Declare the country under attack by an enemy; real or improvised
    3. Force legislation that limits civil liberties and gathers powers unto government
    4. Brand dissenters and peacemakers as unpatriotic and browbeat them into submission
    5. Keep the fear factor high to make the public easier to manage
    5. Law enforcement and government personnel are used to spy on, control and break dissent
    6. Institute massive propaganda campaigns using state-controlled no-longer-free media and fear of government retribution
    7. Institute the equivalent of a national homeland security department, overseen by one person with unlimited powers
    8. Confiscate all firearms from the citizenry
    9. Institute the mass murder and imprisonment of any who resist the new ideology.
    10. Launch pre-emptive strikes into other countries in an attempt to spread the new ideology

Sound familiar? It should, its not only the direct path of Hitlers rise to power, but also parallels the events starting with and following 9/11. President Bush was very familiar with the game plan, as his Grandfather and his Grandfathers father-in-law were supporters of Hitler and Nazism, both before and after the war.

Of course, theyve skipped a couple of the items on the list, but theyll get to them if theyre allowed to remain in power, because it will be the only way for them to retain power.

The Reichstag Fire: the funeral pyre of German democracy parallels 9/11 and the loss of American civil liberties

THE BEST REASON TO VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA THIS ELECTION YEAR. OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES TO AMERICA AND HER PEOPLE.

Chuck - okay, so you're still on the terrorist kick - let me put it this way for you - people like Bush and his followers ONLY associate with LIKE-MINDED people because they don't like hearing differing opinions - it doesn't fit into their neat little world. People like Obama, and myself, try to surround ourselves with as many different minds as we can so that we can better understand how other people, who share this world, think. Look at it like this - if Obama has associated himself with terrorists (rehabilitated or not) and we live in a world being attacked by terrorists - wouldn't you think that it's a positive to have spoken to and gotten into the mind of a former terrorist to learn how they think and learn what motivates them? Or are you of the population who seems to think that just because you're in a room with someone who thinks a certain way, you must, by default, think that same way???

Let's pay attention to this: Obama was asked by a prominent McCain supporter to serve on a board whose purpose was EDUCATION REFORM. These same McCain supporters asked Bill Ayers, who is now a respected professor and key player in Chicago's education system, to sit on the same board for - EDUCATION REFORM. This somehow means that because they sat on the same board whose purpise was to IMPROVE EDUCATION - Obama is by default a terrorist lover????

Seriously? Do you think before you speak or just parrot what the talking heads say on TV???

The republicans have resorted to Ol' Faithful - Fear and Smear - Fear Fear Fear!!!!

"All we have to Fear is Fear itself!"

You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts!

"Or are you of the population who seems to think that just because you're in a room with someone who thinks a certain way, you must, by default, think that same way???"

but that is exactly how so many right wing people think because they only congregate with people who think the say way. Plus if you don't think just like them, there is something seriously wrong with you.

The ugly side of Big Brother Socialism: Media Blackmail
    October 31, 2008 12:27 PM ABC Reports:
The Obama campaign has told three reporters they have to drop off the campaign plane this weekend. All three work for papers that endorsed Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.: the New York Post, the Washington Times, and the Dallas Morning News.
    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/10/citing-space-co.html

Barack Obama's campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported .
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign, according to the Sentinel.

When Barack is in office McCain's 2000 plans will be fulfilled. Oh it's socialism, it's not SOCIALISM it's SMEAR TACTICS because if it wasn't socialism when Clinton and L. B. Johnson were in office, it can't be SOCIALISM when Barack is in office. McCain is reliving his campaign of 2000 again but gets to play BUSH this time.

On October 12, 2000, on the Hardball College Tour, at a stop at Michigan State University, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., defended progressive taxation from the charge of Socialism. It's really quite a remarkable clip; he sounds like Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

MCCAIN: I think you're questioning, questioning the fundamentals of a progressive tax system where people who make more money pay more in taxes than a flat across the board percentage. I think it's to some degree because we feel obviously that wealthy people can afford more. We have over the years beginning with John F. Kennedy reduced some of those marginal tax rates to make them less onerous. I believe that when you really look at the tax code the very wealthy because they can afford tax lawyers and all kinds of loopholes really don't pay as much as you think they do, when you just kook at the percentages. And I think middle income Americans, working Americans, who when you count in payroll taxes, sales taxes, mortgage -- all of the, all of the taxes that working Americans pay -- I think you would also think that they also deserve very significant relief.

STUDENT: I still don't see how that's fair...aren't we getting closer and closer to Socialism and stuff...?

MCCAIN: Look, here's what I really believe: That when you are, when you reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more. But at the same time it shouldn't be totally out of proportion

      http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/10/mccain-in-2000.html

WHAT HAPPENED MCCAIN? McCain KNOWS its NOT SOCIALISM but he will LIE to get elected.

I can't believe I found you repeating this blog so many times.

If Obama wins, he'll certainly attempt to rid the media of critics. If Franken looses in Minnesota, he'll become minister of propaganda. If he wins, he'll become a powerfuk member of some commitee in the senate that oversees the media. I am sure an attempt will be made to jail Limbaugh, Hannity and the like. At the least, they'll loose their voices. I am sure an attempt will be made to purge Alioto, Roberts and the other strict constructionists from SCOTUS. You will see a reign of oppression in this country the likes of which you've never seen since WW I.

Wow, you must think you're pretty important to make it onto one of Obama's "lists". Ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the American sheep that's bought into the culture of fear that's been propogated in this country for the last 7 years.

    • Posted By: C. MacLean @ 10/31/2008 10:38:11 AM

Reign of oppression? Kind of like wiretapping without judicial oversight? Suspending the writ of habaeus corpus? Firing federal prosecuters based on their political affiliation? Ignoring the Constitution?

      That reign of oppression?

Also, please note that Limbaugh has worked quite hard to get himself jailed all on his own, without Obama's help, since he doesn't seem to be able to deal with his prescription pill addiction in a legal manner.

As for the Supreme Court, with any luck, Scalia and Thomas will retire, but a constitutional law professor like Obama knows you don't 'purge' supreme court justices.

Really, tom, your paranoia is starting to show.

    Uh-Ohhhhhhh!!!!

    MCAIN TIES TO KHALIDI!!!!!

In regards to Khalidi, however, the guilt-by-association game burns John McCain as well.
During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.
A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of this PDF.)
The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."
Of course, there's seemingly nothing objectionable with McCain's organization helping a Palestinian group conduct research in the West Bank or Gaza. But it does suggest that McCain could have some of his own explaining to do as he tries to make hay out of Khalidi's ties to Obama.

I know I'm tired! I have never in all my years of voting ever followed an election like this. Both for the historical factor and the urgency of the need for change. For so many of us we have felt a disconnect from these precedings. It was always the very rich folks that had the money that could keep running over and over again. Nothing has ever changed for the middle class and we have been crushed to non-exixtence. Working for these Mom & Pop businesses is not all that it is cracked up to being. They can't pay a living wage, provide insurance or medical coverage or any kind of retirement fund. This kind of garbage has been going on for 30 years. Every large organization has managed to move all jobs, "that could provide enough income to allow a person to pay for a home," out of this country. We are all so tired of our government not watching out for us or even caring what happens to the middle class. I guess God does answer prayers. We truly need a change ! Right Now!
