Going After Bin Laden

I for sure believe that if the USA really wanted to get (capture or kill Bin Laden) they would!
hands down...end of story!!

I personally believe that if the US reallywanted to get(capture or kill Bin Laden) they would!! We do have all the resources to do it!

Comment: Hussein is a common name. Remember King Hussein of Jordan? He was well respected and an American Ally. My first wife died of cancer 5 years ago. She was Lebanese. My daughter is thus half-Arab.
My wife's uncle was buried in us US Air Force uniform because he loved America and was proud of his service. His cousin died at Pear Harbor serving in the US Navy.

I don't know of any Muslims where I work who I would be afraid of. And for every Muslim you show me who is not a Christian, I bet I can find a Christian who is not a Christian.

Comment: I think unlike Thom77 that if we had focused our attentions on the area where he was hiding instead of opening up a new front in Iraq for political reasons we would have caught him and/or killed him. We then therefore, though, had no reason to attack Iraq and GWB wouldn't have gotten his war. That's the truth. And Obama has indicated he would refocus our attention on Afghanistan and Pakistan to find and kill him. Case closed.

My children live in America, too. But the extremists I'm worried about are not the Moslem extremists, dangerous though they may be. What? Bin Laden was at Tora Bora in 2001? That flies in the face of what our esteemed president, George W. Bush, and Gen. Tommy Franks said during the 2004 election ... (Tommy Franks in NYTimes Oct. 2004: "Mr. bin Laden was never within our grasp").

Wow, 40 American fighters devoted to catching our number 1 enemy. Over 100,000 soldiers sent to Iraq for who knows what purpose. And we are surprised that Bin Laden was never caught? You do the math.

We didn't invest into Aghanistan as much as Iraq. You can look from 2001 to present and see that, just by looking at the number of boots on the ground. If the government put as much effort into Iraq as they did Afghanistan, bin Laden would have been cought years ago. A lot of soldiers including myself signed up after 9/11 for that very reason. Instead most of us face Iraq deployments, many of us who have been over 2-3 times already.


I'm glad we're finally looking to place more boots on the ground in Afghanistan and trying to request another 7500 increase for next year. I excited to actually see we're carrying out more strikes against suspected targets in Pakistan as well.


McCain knows all about being captured, however I do not see his ablity to capture anyone we've been looking for even before 9/11. If he's so confident that he can catch bin Laden when/if he becomes president, why hasn't he helped aid the capture in recent years? Just another empty promise given in hopes the american voters will elect him.

Tora Bora was the epitome of "Warmonger" Bush's complete incompetence in hunting down Osama bin Laden. What kind of idiot tries to trap someone in a three sided box? Obviously the warmonger didn;t want to get bin Laden because alive bin Laden was more worthwhile to the warmonger as a boogeyman to scare us with when he needed political cover for something. It's a pity that he didn't want to get bin Laden at Tora Bora by ensuring that our US soldiers took care of our dirty work instead of outsourcing it to a bunch of bozos who were pals with bin Laden and had no incentive to get him.

I bet that Obama will get bin Laden and bring justice to him. McNasty is just lying through his aging teeth that he has a plan to get bin Laden. If he did he is a self serving traitor for not telling his pal the warmonger.

McCain quote from second debate:

"I'll get Osama bin Laden, my friends. I'll get him. I know how to get him. I'll get him no matter what and I know how to do it. "

If McCain knows how to get him, why is he keeping it a secret, tell us now, so we can go get him..

I'd rather hear what the SAS says happened, than listen to more last minute neo-con agitprop.
At least HM's Govt has some credibility on this stuff. The Bush Crew and any of their sympathizers are suspect. Any member of Delta who publishes has to get it cleared. That means this book is just what someone wants you to hear.
As for having to have a Muslim do the job, that is plain BS. That is an excuse. The failure was in refusing to commit the full force of the US toward Tora Bora. 82nd, 10th Mtn, 101st, all were quite available, heck 3 divisions ready to rock? 30,000 loyal troops couldn't service an 8-digit grid location?
