    FUN QUOTES FROM PALIN
I got all of these quotes off of google quotes
You really couldn't make up this kind of stuff up if you wanted to
This all part of the reason why so many important republicans have been saying she
    is a joke

When asked about her foreign policy experience she said
"As Putin rears his head," she said, referring to Russian prime Minister Vladimir Putin, "and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border."
TELLING THE TRUTH FOR A CHANGE SHE HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT HER RUN FOR VP
"It's time that normal Joe Six-Pack American is finally represented in the position of vice-presidency"
WHEN ASKED TO NAME ONE SUPREME COURT DECISION AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SHE CAME UP WITH THIS ANSWER
"I'm in that sense a federalist, where I believe that states should have more say in the laws of their lands and individual areas"
when asked again to name one decision she responded
"Well, let's see. There's -- of course -- in the great history of America rulings there have been rulings"
When asked about being a redneck she said
"Someone called me a `redneck woman' once. You know what I said back? `Thank-you very much.'"
when asked what promises she might not be able to keep
"How long have I been at this, like five weeks? So there hasn't been a whole lot that I've promised, except to do what is right..."

Talking to dobson about prayer she said
"It is that intercession that is so needed and so greatly appreciated," Palin told Dobson. "And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation."

When asked about being a environmentalist she originally said
"I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity."
when asked again later if she thought people had a impact on global warming
"Show me where I have ever said that there's absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change,"
    asked about voting she said
"I truly believe that the wisdom of the people will be rebuilt on [Election Day]. As they enter that voting booth, they will understand the stark contrast between the two tickets,"
when asked how mccain did at his first debate
"I just thought he was great, because the American people are angry, and John McCain is angry, too
when asked about tina feys imitation of her she said
"I watched it with the volume all the way down," Palin said. "I thought it was hilarious."

IS SHE KIDDING IS THIS WHOLE THING A JOKE
IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE SOMEONE COULD BE THIS CLUELESS
SOMEONE THAT THINKS THEY COULD RUN THE COUTRY NOW LESS
VOTE OBAMA BIDEN NOW AND SEND HER BACK TO ALASKA

WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE POLITICAL TO YOU PEOPLE? Damn. This isnt about partisan politics, its the loss of part of our American Identity, dont you see that? It wasn't democrats or republicans, it was greed plain and simple, just like everything else, and yet you chuckleheads want to turn this into a shouting match. We are losing our identity. You guys suck.

    God get a grip.

what the hell is detroit gonna do? Michigan is already in a ton of trouble. Jesus all those poor people. God damn it, we lose an american namesake company, thousands of people loose their job and what the hell do we have to show for it??? What, seriously I am asking? Damn.

Just an idea... but why cant we have legislation that exempts commuter class vehicles from liability suits?

When was the last time someone sued a motorcycle mfr. and won?

Its part of the risk and privilege to driving/riding and the owner must assume that...

we need to re-align and STANDARDIZE our safety requirements with the rest of the world so that we build cars that 3rd world countries can afford (if we're not careful, we'll be at the top of the list)

BTW.....aside from ignoring the volatility of the oil market, you idiots still insist on making things out of steel.
Basic physics says if its heavy it takes more energy to move...and stop. It also carries that added inertia, which is why your own vehicle is more likely to injure you in a crash(because it wants to keep going) than the car your crashing into.... We dont need batteries.....we need the govt to get Ralph Nader out of thier heads and realize that its just not cost effective to engineer for the ever improving idiot.....

As this is going on, Bush continues his insane scheme to deregulate all things that need regulating. This theft of the American taxpayer would have been complete if Bush was able to privatize our S.S. accounts. So after we are forced by our government against our will to bail out Detroit, who will be next? Enron was simply a drop in the bucket of money stolen by Bush's cronies. Milton Friedman claims ignorance, so should we trust anything he's ever said? We don't even realize that our polarized nation is at war with itself. If the American people have become so afraid of God and Government then Bush has been a complete success in the eyes and minds of his fascist friends.

reply to jumpingnots comment. You have hit the nail right on the head. I'm glad that someone actually understands what is wrong with this country.. It's a shame we can't elect you as president. You make more sense then either candidate.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is sad but all things must end; unfortunately in this show "the fat lady has sung, changed her clothes and left the building".

We need to retool more than the automotive industry - America is watching it's fall, in color and on cable and the elected leader will not be able to change a thing.

Walker USA, Read what I put down in my colum above, why our industrie in the USA is going down the tube. Good luck. you and I are going to need it.

Perhaps someone can explain to me how allowing the government to bail out the dinosaurs in Detroit isn't socialism, but giving tax breaks to the middle class is? Hard to re-distribute wealth when everyone is poor.

Yes, loss of 2 million jobs is critical, especially to those 2 million folks and their families, but will this ultimately fix anything? If GM can't figure out how to re-trench it's own product lines and dealerships, how are they going to manage to do it for Chrysler? Better to spend the money on unemployment benefits for the families and retraining programs for the workers than sink the money into any more corporate losers.

This just puts off the inevitable, at taxpayers' expense - best to suck it up now and let them both go down the drain, since that's where they are headed anyway.

    Why prolong the agony?

What ever all you people are talking about one thing is for sure in the near future there won't be an car or aircraft made here in America,The greed from the companies, the ceo's and yes the workers themself took care of this, wanted more and more wages ceo's overpayed greedy stocholders ect. WE have come to the point that we can't compete anymore, in China,India,Mexico and many other countries they can make all this much cheaper and this is exactly why we have lost 3 million factury jobs. So if we continue this trend we will lose every thing in no time, and all there is left are service jobs her at home, every thing else is made overseas.Americans have to change their live style a more modest live ,work for lower wages and salaries we have been spoiled for many years, and it has comes to a streaking halt now.Everything else has to come down accordingly with our income ,housing, rents, food prices ,medical cost ect , and we would still be able to have a decent life. for to long we lived way over our heads and the buck stopped right here,We all have to change like it or not.

Have spent now half an hour to find out what went wrong with the US automakers. Both, the article and the comments leave me in the dark. Well, if people would know the problems, obviously they would have prevented it. Can somebody give me a hint where to get some good analysis?

Yeah what I love is that we never hear anything about Daimler. Those bastards ran the company into the ground. Gosh Chrysler was the best. When it came to design, nothing looked as good as a Chrysler. Then along comes Daimler the great. Boy all they did was wreck the company. They take a great American company and just run it in the ground. Leaving us with cars like the Avenger and Sebring. Sheesh this sucks!

Imagine what Auburn Hills will look like....Bloomfield Hills for sale....cheap.

Giving government money to Chrysler again reminds one of those who had their bodies frozen in hopes of being thawed out years later into better times. After a few too many failures, no one wanted to do that any more and no one cared much for the remains but the vultures. Let's just bury Chrysler this time. We've gotten the message.

wow, talk about depressing and bringing home how bad this crisis is. To lose an icon and to know that there will be not be any new dodges or chryslers on the road anymore is sad...

      Very good question (about socialism).

  • Posted By: lmhnw @ 10/31/2008 7:39:57 PM

Didn't we pay for this bailout once already?

  • Posted By: loft @ 10/31/2008 7:35:42 PM

Chrysler couldn't figure out what the Japanese could, even though there were so many clues. They should go.

  • Posted By: dhinks @ 10/31/2008 5:45:03 PM

This is sad, but 2 wrongs do not make a right. To borrow money to get ALREADY borrowed money makes about as much sense as 80/20 piggy back home loans did! I own a GM car, have owned many GM cars and a one Chrysler so I am not knocking the product. GM is making a better then average product and chrysler is too. The problem is they are both way to fat and way to slow. They are both so far behind the competition as is Ford. If Chrysler is done it needs to be done, sold in peices. If GM needs money then why not skip trying to get it via borrowed Chrysler money and just lobby for the money to save themselves. Trim the Fat and unproductive brands, Speed up the products that could help a turn around like the Chevy VOLT. Just plain focus. Ahhh I feel better now. :)
