Just because someone puts his hand over his heart in the presence of our flag does not make that person any more patriotic than the next. That is like saying everyone that has a Bible respects God because surely in this country that is not the case. And everyone has a relative that they don't keep tabs on. WAKE UP FELLOW CITIZENS. For decades this county has suppressed all those not represented by a certain color and claimed to be a country full of respect for values as stipulated by God; however, that has not always been the case. Why should race be a factor in this election or in choosing an individual to run a company, work in an executive role, or any other matter. Why? Is this the traditional values and respect being referred to in some of these ridiculous posts?

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, always a GOP crowd pleaser, calls the mainstream media "Pravda." Blaming the press may feel good. But it won't solve the problem of a party that has lost its way.

The closest this party ever came to having a plan was Gingrich's Contract with America.

If memory serves me, they didn't live up to their promise before falling prey to their own arrogance.

Its taken 28 years for the country to finally realize just how vacuous this party is.

Their Darling, Ronny Reagan, articulating the republican economic philosophy, called it Trickle-Down Economics - a nice name for "You get the scraps off the tables of the ruling class."

Followed by the prostitution of the christian conservatives by Oral Jimmy Robertson in an effort to sieze control of the party; largely successful, incidently; and the recipe for disaster was almost complete.

When asked why I'd changed my support from McPhalin to Obama over the last three months, I gave these reasons:

1). That's not John McCain - I don't know who he is, but that is a different person than the one we saw in 2000.

2). Is Sarah Phalin the most qualified woman the Republican party has? Is she the only?

3). Identify for me the planks of the Republican platform - leave off the divisive, non-starting, issues of abortion, same sex marriage, and gun control, the first two the government has no business messing in, and the third the government can't do anything because the constitution. Oh yeah, this was the party that wanted to change the constitution to word it more to the liking of their evangelical christian skin-head "Moral Majority".

"Wal-Mart women and everyone else, What do you really know about Obama's economic philosophy"

Worse case scenario seems to be that he'll spread the wealth... which is what we need right now, because the banks have become too frightened to even do their job and make loans, even among themselves, thus perpetuating a credit freeze, leaving businesses large and small without the lifeblood of all industry... cash-flow.

Middle class tax cuts will leave cash in the hands of those who spend it in our own communities, instead of giving it away as tax-revenue to Sunni neighborhood clan chiefs who pay their young men off with it.

Do you want money in your pocket or in the dark account of a Blackwater executive who spends it on hookers and blow in some Moroccan den of thieves?

    It's up to you.

I just hope it is your wealth he spreads because he is not welcome to mine.

It's funny that people who shop at WalMart are such strong supporters of the GOP, considering that nothing in WalMart is made in America. I guess as long as the prices are low it's ok that jobs are going overseas and Walmart employees can't get health coverage for their kids. It's the republican way.

wendy, how is it that biden dissed obama by saying that he wasn't qualified to lead us through foreign affairs troubles that would certainly test our country within the first 90 days of his presidency? i think it is funny how biden flipped that thought process the minute he was asked to be vp running mate....GO MCCAIN 08

Here,Clift and I are in rare agreement. While one animal must change its spots,[The GOP],the other, will keep its same stripes[the media]. It is important in the extreme for the GOP,in its coming wilderness period of reinvention,to agree that the [Gingrich was correct. Clift, the rag she works for and the rest of the MSM are ''PRAVDA''like in their applications],media is hostile. They will have to move without these and focus on the growing power of the Internet,a key source Democrats have otherwise grasped and understood ,in order to parlay congressional victories that offer candidates which represent core conservative beliefs.
multi-forked assaults to lead them out of this wilderness.

I.Forget abortion. Rely only upon opposing its expansion beyond ROEs guidelines. They will find friends among a huge majority of Americans that are opposed to elective late-term abortion based neither upon the health of the mother or fetus.

    2. Relax the ties with the evangelicals. [they will not eliminate them altogether, any more than Democrats will cut ties with the black churches],but need not allow individuals to achieve positions of advisory power.[Robertson,Falwell,Reed,et al].

    3. Continue hammering the media for the biased creature that it is.[this costs nothing in terms of prestige. As again,an overwhelming number of Americans,at polls registering even 8 and 9 to 1[PEW Center for People and the Press Oct.21,2008,which lends the lie to Clifts assertion that bias is only a ''Republican''perception], agree that the media is a biased creature. A resultant bonus will be to see the decline and fall of most major MSM print media, including NEWSWEAK,which like SLATE and SALON,will be forced to go Internet. [all print media is already in decline, with the LA Times ,NY Times, Associated Press, and Washington Post news networks[which own NEWSWEAK], registering layoffs, and declining stock and circulation revenues].

    4. Advance small-government candidates unsullied by scandal. Let the Democrat majority wallow in pork, political scandal, and the higher taxes that will be levied on most Americans despite campaign pledges by these. Be quick to point out liberal overreach, which Gingrich sucessfully used in the 1994 GOP congressional takeover.

According to CNN, even Arizona is now a toss-up state. How humiliating for Senator McCain. He put his campaign and his reputation in the hands of common liars and crooks, and Sarah Palin is making an ass of him. Her rallies today did not have his name on any of the signs, banners or literature. And the website listed on all the lit was www.GOP.com. Ouch!

  • Posted By: Blue in AZ @ 11/01/2008 3:33:59 PM

I don't understand why uneducated people feel so strongly that our leaders should be uneducated as well. So Sarah Palin kills animals and watches her kids play hockey, that makes her "real"? Joe the Plumber doesn't pay his taxes and couldn't even buy the plumbing company legally BECAUSE HE'S NOT A LICENSED PLUMBER, why again do we admire this? If Obama, whose wife wears Target clothes and who has 1 house (as opposed to several) like the McCain's) is elitist, I say sign me up. He and his wife went to Harvard not because Daddy go them in or made a donation, but because they earned it. All John McCain did was leave his first wife for an heiress and then survive capture in Vietnam. This qualifies him? He sure hasn't done anything for his home state of AZ.

the repugnicans' phony mantra of small government rings hollow with the younger generation because of their contradicting stand on abortion rights. if they so darn apesheit over keeping govt small enough to drown in a bathtub, then logically they should wish to keep govt out of a woman's uterus. they will lose election after election because the youth of america does NOT want to be told what to do with their bodies. they are hippocrites in this sense, as if business is sacred and should not be touched by govt, but heck, woman's right to choose, oh yeah THEN they want big govt. duh.

Tuesday night Palin can go back to Alaska and watch Russia through her window. She is dumber than all get out - to think she thought the VP rahn the Senate and ewould go in there and tell them what to do. She should read the constitution. And while she is reading that she should get some magazines or newspapers to the next time (there won't be any) that Katie Couric asks her what she reads she can say she reads the National Enquirer concerning her preggy daughter and her stud - who by the way dropped out of high school. And what did Sarah have to do with getting him an apprentice in a union. Any union I know of requires a hight schhol diploma - you betcha - wink - wink

  • Posted By: Vote Now @ 11/01/2008 2:19:12 PM

Sarah palin when asked about becoming vp responded

"As for that VP talk all the time, I tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me, 'what is it exactly that the VP does every day......"

After she had been the nominee for around 2 months she was asked again and this time said

[T]hey???re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

If she doenst know what the vice pres or presidant does why would we give her the job

mccain has around a 40 percent chance because of his age in not being able to

    complete his term

picking palin was about as smart as picking any other mrs alaska contestant

let send her back to the north

    elect obama biden now

Right on, let the Country be run by a "Wal-Mart" woman! I would say like Palin, but she is no more a Wal-Mart woman than Cindy McCain. Wake up nimrods, we have had a Wal-Mart man for eight years ... at least functionally. You know, like in functionally tied or functionally illiterate. We really need another slow, shallow, Christian fundamentalist running the Country ... I mean Palin, of course. McCain is just slow and shallow. And, to the Utah nimrod, yes, if 911 were today McCain would win just like Bush did. And, he would not have stopped 911. He would just take advantage of it like the GOP did to advance their agenda. But, you are right, McCain would win. If it is one thing for sure, when we are a scared Nation, we turn to the bully for protection. We lash out like little children.

If anyone is likely to keep another 911 from even happening ... it is Barack Hussain Obama. Any nimrod can come in a pick up the pieces like Bush did. He did nothing heroic ... he was not a savior ... he was and McCain is an opportunist of the worst sort.

While Eleanor Clift is sitting is her office staring at her college degree we are out here waiting to pounce. Good luck to all you Eleanors ... we may be uneducated and poor ... but we are not swooners, like Eleanor, hoping that an Obama presidency may take away the loneliness and personal dissatisfaction in our lives. In large droves, we are happily married and therefore can afford to vote on substance and not another pretty face that might just look our way.

Wal-Mart women and everyone else, What do you really know about Obama's economic philosophy? Since he has never run a town, state or business, he has no record to look at. Oh, he has made lots of promises, but given that he broke his promise to be limited to public campaign funds, you cant put much faith in that, and there will be no means to keep those promises anyway.

But you do know that Obama, along with his democratic buddies in Congress, personally and professionally advocated for a residential housing policy favoring forced sub-prime lending, which subsequently resulted in massive defaults and foreclosures, leading to your loss of significant equity value in your home, to the point that it destabilized your banks, which panicked the stock market, which wiped out your savings.

Look and listen to Obama for yourself. Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

The same lack of knowledge can be said about McCain's economic background but to say that he wants to follow many of the same policies that got our economy in the ***-hole it is in today. Last time I checked the sub prime lending that you so conviently place on the Democrats currently controlling congress flourished after a REPUBLICAN congress passed the bill that clinton signed. Also ACORN is in existence to register voters who are disenfranchised by the current system because they are poor. IF people are registering false individuals that A) doesn't mean those people are voting and B) cheating ACORN out of money paid to those peoples for registering new voters. ACORN does not encourage giving money for falisfied voters. McCain wants more deregulation which is exactly what causes unbridled greed and thereby results in the taking advantage of those who cannot understand what it means to be in a sub-prime mortgage. Don't kid yourself.

        See : http://www.newsweek.com/id/164972
Stating that Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act wasn't what caused the meltdown, and noting that "economists on both sides of the political spectrum have suggested that the act has probably made the crisis less severe than it might otherwise have been."

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports, "A fired staffer for an affiliate of" ACORN "testified Wednesday the organization was provided a 'donor list' from" Obama's campaign "in late 2007 for fundraising efforts. Anita Moncrief, a former Washington staffer for Project Vote, which she described as a sister organization of...ACORN, said her supervisor told her the list of campaign contributors came from the Obama campaign." The Philadelphia Inquirer adds Moncrief "gave a scathing, though at times vague, assessment of ACORN and its efforts to go into battleground states and help mostly minorities and the poor register to vote for the first time. The group, she said, barely trained its workers in how to register voters properly, and would fire employees if they did not meet a quota of 20 new voter applicants daily

Obama in this video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other Community Activist's organizations less than a year ago, in December 2007. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President and pledge to meet with leaders of Acorn and the others in his first year, Obama, who we are told has no contact to Acorn (another lie), not withstanding the $800,000 his campaign paid an Acorn group during the primaries, says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama promised that Acorn and other groups like it will setting his agenda if elected even before he is inaugurated:

The link below describes how some Democrats in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:
