Everyone better start thinking. Everyone better start remembering. We got attacked on September 11, 2001 and surely we can remember how many Manhattan shoppers were killed on that fateful day. Have we been attacked since? Our economy was fine until the Democrats got control of Congress. You think there won't be attacks on our country when we elect one of the terrorists' own. Wake up, America, this country needs ethics reform more than any other reform. Read Revelations. Read Obama's stand of ethical issues. I am not professing to be saved and admit with all honesty I could live my life better BUT you cannot be a bible-believing Christian and vote Obama. If you have something against John McCain then stay home.

Such a sad, sad song. Cry me a river.

Telling people they aren't Christians for the way they may vote? That is simply outrageous and has absolutely nothing to do with religon.

This is the most shameful campaign I have ever witnessed. Nullifying people's religious beliefs because they may not agree with you. This is beyond the pale.

      • Posted By: ethicsreformfirst @ 11/02/2008 7:14:21 PM

You present not one fact in your reply. I didnt say they can't practice your religion whatever it might be but they certainly cannot read any form of the Christian bible and support a potential president obama....PERIOD.

          Christian? Republicans?
They just bring the Bible and the abortion and gays issues every 4 years, then put in the drawer. Bush did nothing in 6 years after all his promises while campaigning.
First, Bush had girlfriend Ms. Lowman have an abortion, yes killing his own baby, at tewlve oaks hospital by. Dr. Chandler in 1971.
Second, Cheney daughter is openly lesbian and her wife is part of Cheney???s family in all events for everyone to see.
Third, there have been thousands killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc.; over 60K Americans die every year for lack of medical care (20x more than 9/11); elderly that cant buy their medication and will die, families destroyed, divorced, ruined economically..and the list is very loooong!
Fourth, they have squandered all the surplus of 5.6 trillions and leaving over 11 trillions in debt. They have sacked this country and given all sort of tax breaks and goodies to the richest and big corporations.

So, if you wanted reasons, people like myself are not voting for the hypocritical republicans that have been in power 20 of out last 28 years and have done NOTHING about changing anything on abortion or gays because it is their carrot to have Christian voting one issue and no seeing the rest.
Republican have blood in their hands and have looted this country and American people of not only their money, but their pride and image around the world.

In my Bible, killing, stealing, not helping the poor, not assisting the sick or in need, is not rewarded with heaven. Most add the dirty campaign of lies, blasphemy, provoking violence was not what Jesus taught. Let alone voting for a person that cheated his wife.

When dealing with propaganda, one needs no facts, figures, or pie charts. You claim to be the arbiter of heaven. You're not. It's really that simple.

And I still think telling people how they vote is a determination of their ability to believe in Christ is an abomination and a terrible practise to engage in.

Sorry you think I need "facts" to backup what I'm saying, especially, given that religion is about faith.

To all of the conservatives out there who think that Obama is a flaming liberal, I would like to remind you of what he did when he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review. The Law Review President gets to name ten individuals to write articles for the Review, and these ten people get to control the content of the publication. All of the minorities and the liberals thought they finally had it made, that Obama would appoint ten left wing editors. Instead, Obama appointed three conservatives, three liberals and four moderates. That year the Law Review was critically acclaimed as the best run and best written Harvard publication in decades.

So when he wins in November, conservatives don't have to freak out. Obama is a centrist and will appoint a balanced cabinet full of active people who will really get things done. Kind of like the way our multi-cultural society is supposed to be. And exactly what we need in this time of economic crisis.

I just came out of Walmart where a black woman was arguing with a white male over Obama. People are getting a little nuts about this election. I don't want to get injured on account of stupid people. But I will be very disappointed if a Muslim wins.

Obama's Links To Radicals Starting To Surface!! www.newsmax.com/timmer

Obama-Farrakhan Ties Are Close, Ex-Farrakhan Aide Says

A former top deputy to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan tells Newsmax that Barack Obama???s ties to the black nationalist movement in Chicago run deep, and that for many years the two men have had ???an open line between them??? to discuss policy and strategy, either directly or through intermediaries.

???Remember that for years, if you were a politician in Chicago, you had to have some type of relationship with Louis Farrakhan. You had to. If you didn???t, you would be ostracized out of black Chicago,??? said Dr. Vibert White Jr., who spent most of his adult life as a member and ultimately top officer of the Nation of Islam.
White broke with the group in 1995 and is now a professor of African-American history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
White said Obama was ???part of the Chicago scene??? where Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. and radicals would go to each other???s events and support each other???s causes.
???Even though Chicago is the third-largest city in the country, within the black community, the political and militant nationalist community is very small. So it wouldn???t be uncommon for [Obama and Farrakhan] to show up at events together, or at least be there and communicate with each other,??? White told Newsmax.
The Anti-Defamation League has denounced Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam as a ???hate group.???
Farrakhan has called Jews ???bloodsuckers,??? ???satanic??? and accused them of running the slave trade. He has labeled gays as ???degenerates.??? In a 2006 speech, the ADL again condemned Farrakhan when he said: ???These false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood that is seeding the American people and the people of the world and bringing you down in moral strength. ??? It's the wicked Jews the false Jews that are promoting lesbianism, homosexuality. It's wicked Jews, false Jews that make it a crime for you to preach the word of God, then they call you homophobic!"

Say it. I dare you. It doens't require a novel, or a bunch of quotes. It's only four little words. A Pronoun, a passive verb, an article, and a direct object. It's pasted all over your posts like a watermark anyway.

Maybe now, the more moderates in the party will be able to take control from the far right. I little less fear and hate mongering and a little more focus on the issues would do the republican party a lot of good.

Would that be those of us who work there, or those of us who shop there?

I'm a woman with a college degree who makes less than $60,000/yr. I don't work at Wal-mart, but I sure do shop there.

The republican party has nothing for me. Hopefully, soon they won't have anything for anyone else, either.

Me too, C. But I shop at WalMart as little as I have to, in favor of supporting local businesses. I agree, the republican party lost its way thanks to negative attitudes like Chuck's down there. You all have done told me a zillion times over what's "wrong" with Obama but would someone please tell me what's right with McCain? I mean does Chuck not realize McCain was born in the Panama Canal zone and you could take every one of those statements and apply it to McCain as well. Context!

The GOP only care about the rich, the poor and middle class are not important to them. It is a good ole boys club and there isn't anyway they are letting the coal miner from Virginia in the door.

Bill Clinton says crisis caused by Democrats blocking attempts by Republicans to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE

Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama's case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

I toltally agree with the last paragraph statement. The only reasons that Obama will win this election is due to the media and how they portray him as a poster child and all of the young voters who have never voted before and probably couldn't tell you what a democrat or a republican are, they are voting for what the media and celebrities are saying is popular. So sad.

The only reason? The one singular, only reason?

So, then, there's no way it could even remotely be because the party McCain represents have:

Given over 9,000 Iraqi insurgents regular monthly checks from the U.S. Treasury not to shoot at us so it will appear the surge is working and continue to do so.

Given al Qaeda safe haven for seven years after they killed 3,000 Americans by refusing to go after them and instead going after other people they say are 'just like them'.

Allowed our economy to all but tank while their no-bid contract buddies get billions from U.S. taxpayers every month for pretending to rebuild Iraq.

Naw, geez, it couldn't be for any of those reasons, could it. The American people couldn't possibly be smart enough to be genuinely angry about criminal activity, or genuinely concerned that they might have to pack their kids off and send them into a corporate war machine for the bottom line of a bunch of corporations without getting so much as a gold watch in return. Naw, we couldn't possibly be that smart. Hell, we're all too busy watching American Idol to even pay attention, right. Well here's a news flash for you: We ARE that smart.

Obama is telling us in no uncertain terms that he is going to take some of our money and give it to someone else - income redistribution. This is socialism a la Ayers, etc. And we all know, based on history, that the absolute worst thing to do during a recession is raise taxes - but this what he intends to do.

You can place much of the current economic problems on the Democratically-controlled Congress, but for some reason, they are getting a pass. And now we're getting ready to vote to elect the most liberal presidential ticket ever: God help us. Would be great if many overlooked Obamas color and voted based on his track record (which is very slim and consists of sponsoring no substantial legislation).

Please explain to me how when the Democrats give a tax break, it's income redistribution, but when the Republicans give one to the top 1% of income earners, it's Ok? Sad to see that so many have been taken in by those at the top wanting to protect their wealth and not willing to let it trickle down. If it had "trickled down" we wouldn't have been in this mess. Furthermore, your assumption that the problems happened because of the Democratic congress is also false. The meltdown of our economy happened because the Republican congress and Bush voted in less regulation of banks, etc. Because of that, there was no oversight. What the banks and investment firms then did was decide to loan money it didn't have thinking the sale price of houses would continue to rise. That wouldn't have been so bad, except they then bet the house using something called dervivatives which were basically insurance policies given by the same banks to guarantee losses. Those had NO oversight so when housing went down, the banks were called on to ante up the money it didn't have.

      • Posted By: mejl94will @ 11/02/2008 3:20:47 PM

The problem is not the trickle-down theory. The problem is the greed in the upper ranks - both republican and democrat. If we were to focus on eliminating the corruption from both sides, we would see that this model is in fact effective. Why are we constantly fighting about which party is right or wrong when we all know that it is personal integrity and accountability that matters and we must hold our elected officials to those standards. And I will say it again, that I think Obama's integrity is questionable and his lies about committing to governmental transparency (and yet withholding donor information) is just another example that this man is not all he's cracked up to be. Why is no-one talking about the beached whale, becuase I smell something fishy afoot.....

    • Posted By: gkdaddy1 @ 11/02/2008 3:16:22 PM

Redistribution. You mean like how the Cons have redistributed OUR tax dollars to the the top 1% wealthy in this country, while shifting the tax burden onto us "regular" wage earners? We pay more taxes while they pay less. Let me ask you something. Are you a billionare? Do you hang out with billionares? I don't. I've met some but I wouldn't say we were "hanging out" type of freinds. The Con's scare tactics are working on you dude. I want to have the billionares to pay their fair share of taxes and be done with their tax breaks. I want to pay less in taxes because I make less than $250k. Hell, I make less than $100k. Most americans are not seeing through this folly anymore.

How can the GOP save itself?

    Simple.

Stop pandering to the extreme right. Get BACK to the CENTER where it belongs. STOP the nastiness that's become the norm for the party in elections. People are sick and tired of it. It's sickening

BOTH parties need to be in the center. The extremists on both sides put people off and show themselves as the jerks they really are.

    • Posted By: DaveDiana @ 11/02/2008 9:07:03 AM

The GOPdoesn't have to save itself. First, don't count your chickens until the election is over. A lot depends on how many people and which groups turn out to vote. Second, four years of democratic leadership will do more to boost the GOP than anything they could do themselves. Every generation or so this country elects another Jimmy Carter just to see how bad it can get.

You say to stop the nastiness but objectively research which side is more negative. Why is it okay for a democrat to make a goundless attack on a republican but anything from the right is beyond the pale? There were two studies released in the past two weeks that verify what the right has complained about: They don't get a fair shake. MSNBC was the worst because 73% of it's stories about McCain were negative versus less than 20% negative for Obama. The numbers for NBC, CBS and to anextent ABC were similarly biased. ( Surprisingly, FOX was split 40-40 in one study and was pretty close toeven in the other) So when the left has the media in its pocket, when the right is attacked for its most fundemental beliefs on marriage and abortion, why are you surprised they fight back?

I myself wish people could DISCUSS the issues with respect and intelligence. The screaming has got to stop, but I'm sorry, I see it coming a whole lot more from the left.

If Sen Obama wins, remember that this country is getting what it asked for. I work with a lot of people who are backing Obama even though his tax policy will probably run our business into the ground. I don't know that "Wal-Mart women " are going all out for either canidate. I think people who vote based on this endorsement or that are pretty vapid.

Well Obama can have Eleanor Clift and all the upity, collegiate, constipated, beta cappas he wants. Walmart women will bring it for McCain/Palin, our votes count just the same and I would guess that there are more of us.

Or McCain. 495 out of 500 at the Naval Academy.

The GOP is just sad now, and longing for the good old days, back when bush was a good thing, hence, all this whalin for Palin. "We see starbursts and sparkly things on TV. OMG, she winked at me." I'm tempted to say it, but I won't, lol.

Besides, most dems had to take out student loans for college, and paid them back themselves. Your argument, like your politics, equal EPIC fail.

There is a reason that uneducated people vote for Conservatives and it's that they aren't smart enough to see through the tactics used by the wealthy to keep them earning just enough to get by while they reap the profits and pay no taxes.
Go watch a car race sucka!!

Perhaps they should learn to read, that way they could get information for themselves.
