All you Obama voters are part of the "I want something for nothing crowd." Why don't you get off you dead asses and go out and make something of yourself, then you'll know why he (Obama) is threat to those of us who have worked hard to achieve a good life for ourselves and our families, and now have that SOB trying to take it away from us. This is truly CLASS WARFARE. What a bunch of jerks.

    • Posted By: EdieV @ 11/01/2008 11:02:35 PM

You are joking right! Just because some of us have chosen to vote Democratic does not mean we are sitting on "our dead asses." As a teacher I have worked for peanuts yes, but not while I was sitting around idle. I was out there trying to educate the youth of this country. Obviously, someone failed in their job where you were concerned!

Oh! God help the youth of this country. Your the teacher I told my kids to stear clear of when they went off to college.

I make over $500,000 a year and have worked hard all my life, am a doctor and a strong Obama supporter. He is actually an INTELLIGENT MAN, which is quite a change from Bush II and McCain and Palin. Don't be afraid of intellect. Stop being such a rascist. How do you think Obama has raised so much money...? People who make a lot of money are voting for Obama because we know that if the economy continues to fail WE WILL STOP MAKING MONEY... with Obama I am voting my pocketbook. Your working class, middle class money is who I depend on to pay my bills.. I am for your benefit, because it benefits me. Warren Buffett is a brilliant financier. Why do you think he supports Obama, because Obama is a Communist? You are being ridiculous.

Another voice of reason. Thanks for the comments. We all need to be voting for someone who is trying to bring about a change from the mess that the Bush administration has gotten us into. Hats off!

I work every day at an honorable profession, day in and day out. If you don't like my views or beliefs as to whom I believe can manage this country. Shut your mouth. I pay exorbinate taxes and pay my way through society without any help from you. As far as I know much of the taxes I pay goes towards someone like you. Don't talk like a deadbeat. And don't tell me to get off my ass.

    Under Obama's tax plan:

No family making less than $250 thousand, will see ANY KIND of tax increase.
Tax rates will be 20% lower than they were under President Reagan.
According to the Tax Policy Center, Obama provides 3 times more tax relief than McCain's plan
    for families.

Families making more than $250 thousand, will pay the same or lower tax rates than they paid in the 1990's. No family will pay higher tax rates than in the 1990's.

Overall, Obama cuts taxes below the level that prevailed under Ronald Reagan.

  • Posted By: PresidentPreach @ 11/04/2008 10:47:28 AM

36% vs 39% on $250K. Make $200K and even with the tax break and still not make as much money. Hmmm I thank I am happy with the 3% tax, no trade.

  • Posted By: PresidentPreach @ 11/04/2008 10:39:47 AM

From 36% to 39% OK. Get me to trade quarter mill for $100,000 or less, mathematically don't even ask me to trade my $250K for $200K just to get a 3% tax break. To each their own, but Mr. McCain, no thank you.

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama's case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that trend, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing economic and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

    • Posted By: Siciliano @ 11/04/2008 12:14:20 AM

All of what you say is correct. Here is my analysis of Barack Obama. First, he is one hell of a nice guy and a great Orator, BUT he is gutless and does what he has to do for political expedience. All of the associations you sight and their left wing radical beliefs were clearly known by Obama, but he chose to ignore them rather than stand up against them because he needed them to further his political ambitions. He certainly heard all of the rantings of Reverend Wright, but to call him on them would have meant that he would have alienated himself from the congregation who he knew he would need down the road. Additionally, I see Obama as one who desparately wants to be liked and will cower to another person's (put country here) philosophy. Definitely not a characteristic we should want in a Commander-In-Chief. He has no clear-cut plan to lead the country and will yield to pressure from his own party.

Some people will still dispute Obama's taxing the people who make over $250,000 a year. When I was working at a large corporation, I was hired as a main frame computer operater. I also was required to fix small pc computer and doing some programming, (APL, LOTUS and RPG). One of my jobs was also to print out checks and watch to make sure there were no discreptionies. One day I found a check I was printing out was for $500,000.00 I copied the check # and when my supervisor on dayshift came in I showed her the huge check thinking it was some major mistake. Her response simply said that it was correct and this man got "only" 2 checks a year. Not only this the man had better medical, plus other perks that we never would have. (The people who really could have used this help!) Not only this the corporation would lay people off saying they couldn't afford having all these workers and the others would have to cover for this person. Many times the company would hire the person back if they would take minimum wage. These were people who worked for the company for 10 - 25 years and had all the experience. The company sure made out on this technique. They also would create a duplicate dept. The only difference was the name. This new dept. would have newly hired people who were of course paid minimum wage. After they were trained by the other dept., the company would eliminate the old department with the people who were loyal to the company and had been with the company for many years. When corporations complain that they have to downsize and others would have to take cuts in pay to keep the company from financial problems. In the meantime these people who are making a million or more a year are enjoying their ungodly wealth from the sweat of the underpaid workers. Just to let you know, at that time $30,000.00 was top pay. You guys who worry about not having the opportunity to make it to the top, you won't have to worry if you vote for McCain because the wealthy won't give you the chance. I can understand why the Super Wealthy McCain, along with his other wealthy friends are opposed to Obama's tax plan. The wealthy would actually have to pay their fair share of taxes.

  • Posted By: chameleon @ 11/03/2008 10:51:11 PM

I have heard some rediculous reasons why some people won't vote for Obama
1: He's black.: It's hard to believe there are people who would still not vote for the sole reason of a persons
skin color! Some going as far as hoping he gets assassinated.
    2. He's a terrorist because his name sounds Muslim, he's Muslim, he associated with people who had ties
with terrorism. I would hope people are not that stupid to vote for the other guy just because they don't like
his name or religious affiliation. His grandparents raised him Christian. (As if that should even matter!)
Obama had ties with terrorists. Although he may have associated with some of these people, McCain had
also associated with these same people as well.
    3. Obama is not a US citizen. Exactly when did Hawaii become exempt from the US?
    4. Obama Is going to give $4000 a year for a 100 hrs. of community service. Some feel that this is too
much money to give to those wanting to go to college. Would you prefer them just getting it handed to
them if they are unable to pay for college? Wouldn't you prefer to have our future children learn that they
have to earn the help? And wouldn't you prefer our kids to be educated and to be able to compete with
other countrie in various skills? Wouldn't you rather have this money spent for education than this
    unnecessary war?
    5. Obama is going to prevent people from having the opportunity to become wealthy by taxing the wealthy.
The middle class has been carrying the load of taxes for so long that the middle class is
becoming the new "poor class." Wealthy people hire lawyers to find as many loopholes to prevent pay
ing taxes..Obama wants to close these loopholes. Gee I wonder why "filthy rich McCain" would
worry about this form of tax? Obama is also saying people who make $250,000.00 a year will get taxed
I don't see anyone being affected by this except for the greedy rich who get this way by their underpaid
workers who make this money for them.. Obama is basicly trying to save the middle class is quickly
becoming a dying breed. If we keep up with McCain there will only be the rich and the poor in this country.
McCain has been good friends with George Bush and has stood up for Bush 90%. This including dereg-
ulation, which is the cause of how Wall Street has made all time lows.
    The way I see it,
    It would be insane,
    to vote for McCane!

    • Posted By: solorsq @ 11/03/2008 11:29:09 PM

I posted information on all four candidates, personal, professional, achievements, etc, etc, etc. Didn't withhold anything about anyone. Even Obama's disclosure of drug use. His father and mother divorced. His father returned to Kenya where he was killed i a car accident. Obama was living in Hawaii where he was born, with his mother. His mother re-married, the man was Indonesian. Obama's step-father and mother moved him to Indonesia with them. The dude was like five years old. When he was ten years old he returned to Hawaii and lived with his maternal grandparents, finished high school there and started college. His mother finished her doctural dissertation in Indonesia before dying herself.
Just how desparate are McCain, Palin and just about any Republican thaty has visited this website and still continues to say that Obama gave up his U.S. Citizenship to go to Indonesia. But these are the informed, on top of it people. Your are trying to convince me to vote McCain/Palin when you are really nothing more than they are. You are all in a very unique, elite class, and the only thing that you all know about class is--YOU NONE OF YOU HAVE ANY!

Hey "Obamayeswecan", maybe I should find you and break your legs! Typical ranting and raving from an uneducated liberal. If you had any idea what your candidate is going to do to our country, you'd want his legs broken. You're a bunch of idiots that listen to this "lying" sack of crap and eat it up like lobster. Get your ass out of your single wide and study up on Obama before you make a serious mistake.

If anyone of you can post JUST one thing that Obama has done in his short career that justifies his presidency......PLEASE DO IT! I beg you. I've been beggin' people like you for months and have still heard nothing.

In conclusion, if you don't think this guy has some scary friends that should worry you - again, your an idiot. Obama couldn't get a job with Microsoft with a background check. Obama is the guy that should have his legs broken. Get off "Joe the Plummer". All he did was come out of his house and ask Obama a simple question. Obama screwed up and told the truth for once and it got him in trouble.

I will not share any of my money with you or the rest of your welfare begging friends. I'd fire my employees and close my business before I "share the wealth". F YOU!

    • Posted By: rex w young @ 11/01/2008 6:00:01 PM

When I read "crap" from people like you I know you are lying through your teeth. Sure you ae going to "close" your business. The more you make, the higher your incremental tax bracket, that is the current system started under T. Roosevelt, McCain's hero. Your rant tells me that you have no idea about tax brackets and are just another redneck nut!!!

That dummy is toooooooo stupid to know that he has just made a threat of violence to another human being. He is toooooooo stupid to understand that he filled out a personal data sheet to gain acess to this site. If he were threatening to break my legs because my opinion differs from his, well, I would consider that as a terrorist threat. Hummmmmm, I wonder just how long it would be before this idiot would see daylight again. There have been some incredibly stupid people that have posted incredibly stupid comments on this website. Excuse me, I need to go take a shower!

Let's be clear about "Joe the Plumber"

        1. His real name is Samual. I guess that "Sam the Plumber" doesn't have the same cache.
        2. He doesn't even have a plumbing license
        3. He never took a single step to buy this plumbing business he was talking about (the one that would supposedly give him a $250K annual family income. Oh yeah, did I tell you that I was planning to buy IBM?? I can dream too, but it doesn't make it real.
        4. With his current income, "Joe" will actually pay fewer taxes under Obama.
        5. "Joe" recently signed on with a publicist and is in talks to do an album and a lecture circuit (I sincerely wish I was kidding).

If this doesn't tell you that "Joe" is another phoney shill for the GOP, then you've been drinking the same kool-aid. Just like Carabou Barbie, Joe has become an artfully crafted ideal of the "Real American" that has no basis in reality. Enjoy your fantasy while it lasts.

        • Posted By: AlexHart @ 11/01/2008 6:48:26 PM

A few comments for those that come up with these weak arguments and continue to miss the whole point of "Joe the Plumber".
It doesn't matter what his real name is, if he has a plumbing license (he didn't need one), whether he would benefit from some mythical tax-break or if he was actually attempting to buy his boss' business. The only thing that matters is the response Obama gave to his question and the effect that policy would have on all the other "Joes" or "Sams" out there; anyone dreaming of starting or buying a small business.
Remember that 'Joe' was throwing a football with his son in front of his own house when Obama was coming down the street. He didn't travel somewhere to confront him nor has anyone said that he was coached beforehand on what to do in case Obama happened to be walking down his street someday. All the celebrity happened after Obama revealed his 'plan'.
The point is; should ordinary citizens have to fear similar investigations and intense scrutiny just for asking a question?

I have grave concern for the commander in chief that does not pledge allegence to our flag. If he does not believe in it than he should not be aloud to govern it. He cannot prove to anyone that he is a citizen. I like our democracy, I guess I should start learning another language, and find out more about th Euro. This man has not proven that he can run anything. He and his democrat colleagues have run thier state to depression, so I guess why not the entire country. This is about race. I have asked several blacks why thier voting, and they cannot give me any other reason other than he is black. Give me tangible credentials of what he has done to positivly serve our country and he may get my vote. The problem is you cannot. The other canidate did lay his life on the line for our freedom. I served my couuntry. What happened to those values like HONOR, PATRIOTISM FREEDOM, and the American way. By the way I am an American not a polish American or for that matter an Italian American. I was born here, but Mr. Obama was not. I guess he truly is an Afro Amercian with a white side, Come on people tell me one good thing this man has done for our country other than trying to make history for himself!!!

he may have been born in Hawaii, however, he gave up his citizenship when he went to school in indonesia and never reapplied for u.s. citizenship and cannot produce proof otherwise.

How does a five year old give up their U.S. citizenship? How does a five year old become a Muslim? Some of you are either mis-informed, been lied to, or are so completely ignorant that why would anyone have any reason to not believe that our country is in the state it is in right now because of individuals JUST LIKE YOU.

By the way, no one is disparaging you service to your country. My brother served in Vietnam--came back royally screwed up, but alive and eventually got sorted out. However, please don't think that you have the corner on patriotism, or that people who disagree with some of your opinions are not patriotic or worthy of your consideration. We have been sucked into that vortex for 8 years. It makes my heart sick.

He was born in Hawaii. Check your facts!! What he has done for this country is get literally millions of people reading, researching and talking about this election. With our "all about me" complacent society, that is a really big deal.

      • Posted By: pamrose @ 11/01/2008 6:08:39 PM

Really, Keith, why do people keep saying: Who is he? What has he done? It is not a mystery--Obama's work is a matter of public record and he has been talking about it for 18 months now. If you only get your news from Fox News you won't know much about Obama. Go on the interenet, go to the public library, but do some research. One of the major things he did was that he was one of the few lone voices in Congress who opposed this war from the beginning--it took a lot of courage to do that at the time. AND he does say the Pledge of Allegiance--where did that come from? Some of these comments are so ignorant.

        • Posted By: tigerlily009 @ 11/01/2008 7:08:26 PM

He wasn't in congress when this war started, so he could hardly cast any vote on the issue.

You get this opinion from a lapel pin? If all you need to do is wear an American flag on your lapel to be a true blue American something is wrong with your thinking. What makes America great is we can say things against the Government and not be killed or thrown in prison. I am disappointed in America from time to time and I grew up as a military brat, moving ever year to a new location my father was a lifer (30) year in the Marine Corp, and I would fight for our freedoms, and one of those freedoms is to not wear a lapel pin.

I guess if Satan himself was from Texas, they would vote for him too!

In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" Obama unintentionally revealed that he really is as radical as his early political mentors and acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi etc., (gee, there sure seem to be a lot of them) and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Now there is absolute proof. In 2001, Obama, the "community organizer" turned legislator, said in an interview:

"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck

    2001 Chicago Public Radio Interview.

Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html

Indeed, some democrats are publically saying as much. See Barney Franks comments on the news, including face the nation last week, stating essentially that Democrats in Congress intend to greatly raise taxes and go on a spending spree.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJGnSAlqjoU

    See http://www.taxfoundation.org/blog/show/23617.html

Obama's ill-conceived programs will require him to tax, and his health care plan alone is a substantial hidden tax on all business, large an small. In reality, it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Even Bill Clinton says so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE
Obama and a supermajority of Democrats simply is not the change we need, nor is it change we can afford.

To be honest, it won't matter who gets into office as far as our economy goes as of now. It will take a great amount of time to undo Bush's mess. I feel it will have to take a very intelligent man to get this rolling. Barack Obama was in the top of his class in Harvard and Yale. McCain was in the bottom of his class. (the same like our pal Bush) Barack Obama chose a running mate who does well in Foreign Affairs. He chose someone who can give another viewpoint to look at. McCain chose a beauty queen. (Really scares me if this old goat dies in office) He left his first wife when she became handicapped and got himself a trophy wife 20 years younger. (I guess he just likes pretty women) It scares me when people say they are voting for McCain because Obama wasn't born in the United States but was born in Hawaii. When did Hawaii no longer become part of the United States? It scares me when people say Barack is for the black people because he is black. Please people, he is also half white and I have never heard him say anything racist on any nationality. However on the news there were some skinheads that were intimidating people to vote for McCain because he was white. They did eventually get arrested. It scares me when people vote a straight ticket. Please learn about all the canidates in all the offices. I have always voted, and I have never voted a straight ticket. Watching these two men debate, I noticed that McCain would try to twist Obama"s words around repeatedly even though Obama denied this wasn't his plan. McCain would constantly interupt Obama's turn to speak with unsavory remarks. Obama interupted just a few times but sat and listened to this guys mudslinging. It appears when it comes down to foreign policy McCain will be unable to sit down with foreign leaders and discuss options. "Remember he said if we have to we will stay in this war for 100 years! Many countries hate us because we have the "I'm Right. You're Wrong" And You Better Do It My Way" mentality. Obama shows he is able to sit down and listen and if he disagrees, I'm sure he will have other options that both countries can live with. Better than killing our kids because of weapons of mass distruction, etc. The way I see it there is no better choice then to vote for Obama. It just seems insane to vote for McCain

    • Posted By: jdctr @ 11/01/2008 9:46:02 PM

people most of the time see only what they want to see. Most of the things Obama says are false. When he tells the truth, it's scary. Open your eyes to the truth and the history of the way things work.

      • Posted By: solorsq @ 11/03/2008 10:09:13 PM

Just how do things work? Elaborate on that. Excuse me, tell us how you think things work. If you can intelligently explain how "THINGS" work, well hell, I'm going to vote for YOU.

      • Posted By: EdieV @ 11/01/2008 10:34:57 PM

Again, if you think Obama is lying--you might give an example--you had best be listening to McCain and Palin. They continue to spout the same lies over and over until people like you THINK they are true.

So ignorant, Obama did not attend Yale, he won't release his College records, he doesn't want you to know where and who he received his money from. Therefore, you don't have any proof of how he did in his Class. Just more of the hiden past of OBAMA... if he is so good for the country, why is his past such a secret? Can you answer that? or are you just another Dumocrat

      • Posted By: EdieV @ 11/02/2008 12:45:18 AM

No Barack did not attend Yale. He was president of the Harvard Law Review. I don't think they let you do that from the Yale campus. He also attended Columbia University in New York for his undergraduate degree. Do a little research. Stop listening to right wing conservative radio--they lie!

      • Posted By: mariethomson @ 11/01/2008 10:02:15 PM

        Obama is the mystery man!

He won't release his medical records. Must be some reason why!
He won't release his college application info or grades or thesis. There must be some reason why!
He won't release his vault protected birth certificate in Hawaii (is there one? There is one in Mombasa Kenya). If there is one in Hawaii why doesn't he just release it and stop the rumours? There must be some reason why!

He won't release his papers from his time in Indonesia where he was enrolled in school as a Muslim (says on his web page he never was) and most of all, he couldn't be in school unless he was an Indonesian citizen (adopted by his mom's husband). Indonesia doesn't allow dual citizenship so he must have given up his US citizenship (his mom probably did it for him even if he WAS born in Hawaii and was a citizen which is doubtful)! When, how and if did he become a citizen of the US again? Why doesn't he prove he is a natural born citizen as the constitution requires? There must be some reason!

Obama won't release what he and Bill Ayers did the 7 years they worked closely together--yup seven years sharing the same office. There must be some reason!

The fact is that if Obama could answer these questions well, he would do so. He cannot answer without seriously damaging himself. That means that on each of these questions there are some serious flaws that could be exposed about Obama which would sink his presidency.

If he was born in Kenya alone he is simpy not eligible for the presdency!

If you wanted to see my medical records, I wouldn't give them to you.
Nor would I show you proof of citizenship just because you demanded it, as you are not the State Department or any other agency empowered to request it.
Nor would I show you my birth certificate, when it is not your business to inspect or rule on its authencity. Are you actually suggesting that this amazingly wonderful Republican administration [gotta trust them, for goodness sake] we have is incapable of vetting a pesidential candidate without your help?

Where do you get your information Wikapedia? You do know that anyone can post information there, don't you? Do more research. The man would have been vetted or he would not be allowed to run for the presidency. People like you only spread gossip and call it truth. This is what has been going on throughout this campaign. Listen to the candidates. Do your research. Stop believing lies.

Get your facts right..Obama has released as many health records a McCain, and more that Palin. He has released his birth certificate. You don't have to be a citizen to go to a Catholic school in Indonesia (Francis Assisi) and even if he were born in Kenya, just like John McCain who was was born in Panama, being born to an American citizen automatically makes him an American citizen. Are you uncomfortable with
the shrinking world? How much have you traveled to other continents? It's a great world out there with different perspectives that can only enrich our immigrant society. We are the world. We are who everyone wants to be.

As a person who has chosen to listen to what both candidates have had to say from the beginning, I do appreciate your comments. Obama is truly a brillant man who has a vision for this country. I do believe if people could be blind for a day and had to just listen to the two candidates without paying attention to color, Obama would be taking this country by storm. I am afraid that there are too many Americans who will not let themselves vote for someone who is different from themselves. We should all take stock of why we vote. When I voted this past week, I did not vote straight ticket. I voted according to the candidate. I chose Obama because I feel he has the vision that can lead us out of this quagmire we have gotten into through Bush's misuse of power. Bush has done nothing but lead this country into debt, war and disrespect. I believe that McCain still has too many of Bush's ideas ingrained in him for him to make our lives better. McCain's choice of a running mate is suspect. If Palin were to have to make the decisions of a president, we would all be in trouble. She would set women's rights back 100 years. Joe Biden, on the other hand, has the experience that America needs. Obama has made a point of having excellent people around him--Warren Buffet, Bill and Hillary Clinton--as well as countless others to give him advice. Obama is surely the best choice for this country at this time in our history.

Chew on this I do my own "research" an article from the New York time dated 1999.
    September 30, 1999
Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
    By STEVEN A, HOLMES
ln a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae
Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York
metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualifu for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration.

  • Posted By: airmen619 @ 11/01/2008 9:52:46 PM

yea chameleon, before you start a rant make sure your facts are straight at the least. I know watching after watching MSNBC it's easy to get confused. As far as this mess, it's not all bush, it goes back to the Clinton era when they thought it would be great for everyone to own a home even if you weren't qualified. I'm pretty sure it takes a fairly intelligent man to land a jet on a cruiser, as did McCain. your paragraph is swiss cheese my friend.

    • Posted By: solorsq @ 11/03/2008 9:36:49 PM

Airmen619, Land a jet on a cruiser? The USS California CGN-36 (cruiser, guided missile, nuclear) commissioned 1974, now decommissioned. 596 feet long, 61 feet wide at the beam, draft fully loaded 32 feet, 11, 500 tons fully loaded, compliment 540 enlisted and officers. We had one helicopter deck and could land or launch one single helicopter at a time. You must have been an airman in a flying circus or some sort of balloon show. Maybe you were a balloon boy at a carnival.

Let's not even consider non of the above, this vote is all to serious to walk away from the issue. Stand up for what you think is right. Don't feel informed. Read and believe half of what you hear, See and believe half of what you see, then ask people you really trust for the facts.

The allegations are that small businesses are going to see their taxes increase if Obama is President I would just like to see them pay the taxes they currently owe. You see they want small businesses to be like corporations that have taken your jobs overseas and in the process, they have cheated the American people out of the Income taxes and Social Security and Medicare taxes that would have been collected from American workers and paid into the U.S. Treasury and Social Security Trust Fund. Small business don't have the luxury of taking your job overseas but they don't want to pay over to the government the income taxes and social security taxes they have taken from theiir employees' paychecks either. When they are talking about Small Business and their taxes they are primarily talking about payroll taxes. If you work for a small business employer, I would recommend that you check with the Social Security Administration to see if your employer actually paid the government the taxes they took out of your pay check, you might be surprised.

For the record, Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae don't make mortgages, they buy mortgages from the banks and sell them as securities to keep the cash flowing so banks can finance more mortages.

    • Posted By: KnowBeforeVoting @ 11/01/2008 10:57:06 PM

You do understand that the only way that business are able to pay their bills, (utility, payroll and taxes) is by charging the customer (that's me and you) more. So yeah, lets have companies pay all the taxes, they will either move to a country that doesn't charge taxes or they will charge customers (me and you) more. Think about it.

      • Posted By: solorsq @ 11/03/2008 9:19:28 PM

It's not BIG business, it's not small business. It's the every day American worker. Learn about COLA contracts. The American worker has become "spoiled" and driven American business over-seas to maintain competiveness and increase profitability.

    • Posted By: Dairus @ 11/01/2008 10:15:18 PM

You have no idea of what you are talking about. Payroll taxes are not the issue. Small Business are owned by individuals not huge corporations. If you raise the income tax rate it will impanct small business owners.

My final comment is this: Joe the wanna be plummer got his back taxes paid for, a book deal and money from mccain for showing his party support. This is exactly what I mean about how it dosent usually matter if you work hard. All Joe the wanna be pluumber had to do wasbe in the right place at the right time and now he's going to become wealthy because of the right people. AND WHAT McCAIN DID BY GOING AFTER OBAMAS AUNT WAS WORST THEN DIRTY, It's disgusting and sick and anybody who could think highly of someone who went after someone elses family over a job ( even if its the presidentcy is sick in the head ) He sold out this old lady who has done nothing to anybody. Their are thousands of illegals and he went after her to hurt obama. He is screwed up and they should force McCain to release his psycological records from all the years he had to go to a psychyatrist after pow camp. He is a disgusting human beings and HE WOULD HURT ANY OF US JUST AS EASY FOR HIS OWN SELF GAIN. Other Liberals I am sure you agree and I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE McCAIN LOSE THE ELECTION. He is a rat and a disgusting person.

    VOTE HONER

    VOTE OBAMA

Are you talking about John McCain? Senator John McCain who is running for the 2008 presidency with Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential nominee? Oh, I get it! I thought you were talking about George Bush and Dick Cheney. It's so hard to keep the four of them separated.

John McCain a war hero, maybe. Audie Murphy was the most decorated soldier of World War II. An overwhelmingly, recognized war hero. Audie Murphy acted in movies, starred in movies. It didn't make him an actor. After the lies deceit and total mis-handling of governmental affairs, both domestic and foreign, by the current administration. Does ayone honestly believe that the McCains/Palins are anymore honest or straight-forward. Or, do they only wat to be elected for the benefit of their friends and party. G.W. in his re-election rhetoric said "I believe in the American people". Yeah, he's still claiming that the war in Iraq is a war fighting terrorism, and that is all fine and good. But the intelligence community is waiting to see if Osama Bin Laden will send another message in the next few days concerning this election. He did at the last election. Why? Why are there concerns about him still being around? Yeah, invading Iraq, capturing Saddam, yeah. things are much, much better now.

I will never vote for John McCain. McCain is no war hero: John McCain was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons and was shot down for his misguided efforts. Did he save anyone's life under fire? No! Did he sign an Anti-American statement (after four days of coercion)? Damn right he did! Does that make him a War Hero? John has lived off the government payroll his entire adult life and thinks war is the solution for America's current grave problems. Does America need a misguided warrior who hasn't a clue about what the USA really needs, nor how to go about rebuilding this nation's economy, morale, credibility and leadership, both at home and abroad in the White House

McCain has not only appeared on Liddy???s radio show but used his home as the site of a 1998 fundraiser. Throughout the years, McCain has received $5,000 in contributions from Liddy, including $1,000 this year alone (With Friends Like These, Chicago Tribune, May 2008).

While Barack Obama has ties to Rev. Wright, John McCain also has ties with controversial pastors, namely Pastor John Hagee and Parsley. Parsley has called for his audience to destroy Islam saying that it is the ???greatest religious enemy to our civilization.??? Hagee called for an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church, calling it ???The Great Whore??? and a ???false cult system.??? McCain sought out the endorsement of both pastors, but has since rejected them due to their controversial remarks.

Within his own campaign, McCain has made some interesting choices as to who to associate himself with. There is Freddie Mac lobbyist, Mark Buse who is now McCain???s Chief of Staff; Rick Davis, McCain???s campaign manager who was the president of an advocacy group that defended Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from stricter regulation requirements; Charlie Black, McCain???s top political advisor who said in June that a terrorist attack in the US would be a big advantage for McCain. Black also worked as lobbyist for Occidental Petroleum, a group that gained infamy in 1998 when its security company was involved with the killing of 17 Columbian civilians.

But perhaps the most overlooked aspect of John McCain is his association with the International Republican Institute (IRI). According to the IRI???s website, it is a group that claims to ???advance freedom worldwide by developing political parties, civic institutions, open elections, good governance and the rule of law???.

However, by many they are viewed as a group that advances a neo-conservative foreign policy agenda around the world, and has been involved in the overthrow of democratically elected leaders in countries such as Haiti in 2004, Venezuela in 2002, and Georgia in 2003.

McCain is currently the acting chairman of the IRI and has been since 1993. The cabinet of the IRI has notable figures, including Paul Bremer, who served as the Ambassador of Iraq in 2003, when he disbanded the Iraqi army by sacking 400,000 Iraqi soldiers.
