Not to good at math, but it seems like this article has 100-bad things about McCain and 1 or 2 slow softball pitches of things bad about Obama. The media isn???t biased?
How can anyone with half a brain say that ACORN hasn???t done anything wrong? This whole voting thing has turned crazy. People vote whenever they want, the homeless, poor, and mentally challenged are bussed inform all across the country and steered toward the Democratic ticket. Come on. Are you kidding me? The Democrats use these people over and over again and have done nothing for them yet they continue to vote for the "D". Just look at Cleveland.
Neither side can get anything done; yet we continue to allow it. The media is mostly to blame because they have the power to hold these people responsible and accountable, but they fail to report the truth. It's all about the money. These people have no souls. Whenever anyone speaks out, they are ridiculed, crushed, and discarded. These people are UNTOUCHABLE!
Our Constitution has been distorted and our liberties are being taken away more and more every day. This country is self-destructing and the timer has started. It appears this country will have another civil war in the near future. Conservative versus Liberalism, black versus white, rich versus poor? May God help us all quickly, before he is taken away from us as well!

if Obama becomes President, where can I sign up to secede from the Union. Who's with me?

    • Posted By: Bunker Buster @ 11/01/2008 9:42:11 PM

I have an easy answer for you: Todd and Sarah Palin can tell you where to sign up. He was a member of a group that wants to secede and she gave a speech to them. Maybe they can work with their secessionist buddies to expand the membership of this fruitcake coalition after they get sent back to AK.

WOW, where's the line for the "KoolAid" McCain may have his flaws but unless you want to replace our Democratic government with Socialisum you had better wake and smell the coffee people. If you're ok with higher everything including koolaid and coffee keep ignoring the facts that Mr Obama is bearly qualified to be a Congressional Paige, let alone Cammonder In Chief.

Years ago on the Montel Williams show, he proposed the idea that a president can only serve one six-term term. Six years gives him time to actually get things accomplished, and the fact that he cannot run for re-election forces him to concentrate on the job at hand. I'm not sure whose ideas this was originally.

On an unrelated note, it would be nice if Newsweek added a spell-check to the comment post. Not every who doesn't spell well is stupid, and too many people are making spelling a cause for insult.

    • Posted By: losflores @ 11/01/2008 9:40:57 PM

I agree on both of your points - I agree that six years is a long enough term to actually make a difference. As for spell check, folks get very emotional and type like mad to get their ideas on "paper" so to speak.

Congrats, you drank the Kool-aid sold to you by the democrats and the liberial press. they want you to believe that and you do. you are to lazy to check the facts. Fact, NYT reported in 99 that Fannie mae needed regulations or there would be a huge problem down the road. in 2001, the bush admin said the same, in 2004 again, it was warned. Everytime, Fannie mae was protected with any regulations being blocked by the Democrats. Google "fannie Mae hearings" watch the tapes for youself. The democrats want you to be lazy and believe everything they tell you. And you do. They point the finger at wall street. They forget to tell you fannie mae sold the mortgage backed securities to wall street. they forget to tell you, fannie mae said get us more subprime mortgages, we'll sell them to banks and insurance companies as AAA investments. They also don't want you to know that the Community Reinvestment Act was a big cause of this as well. Google CRA Google "94 citibank lawsuit" you'll find they were charged with racisium under the CRA, and force to give out subprime loans... After you look up the case file, pay attention to the attorney's. you will find that it was brought in by an attorney named.... Barrack H Obama..... No wonder he didn't help do anything about the bailout.... to many reporters were there, and he may have been questioned about his past he wants to hide. God forbid you would vote for someone based on there past.
your are a sorry excuse for a democrat, spewing what you hear on the liberial media like a tape recorder, to lazy to check the fact about what you spew

It's really an eye opener when you see racist comments, comments built off of what is said on television, comments you read. Whether you have to read between the lines or it just is said. I just have one question. How many people know Obama and how many people know McCain personally.... Probably few if any. Who is really telling the truth or who is not? Do we really know? Obama has advertisements say comes from a not good background where he had to work hard to get where he belongs McCain.... fought in a war and married a wealthy woman who make and is worth more than he is and probably will ever be. The bottom line is values people carry and how they carry themselves. Politics are politics the art or science of government; the art or science concerned with winning and holding control over a government; the art or science concerned with guiding or influencing governmental policy. Who ever becomes president is a Leader who is influenced mostly by others who surrounds them, however can be vetoed at anytime. Obama wins it's the white house is now a black person in the house and we are doomed. If McCain wins it???s going to be another republican cheating to win an election and another 8 years of the same mess. I can't believe some of the comments I have seen showing that we are no different as a people as we were way back before my time, but I have learned from over the years of my life. No matter who takes office it is going to take more than 2 terms to fix and is going to take everyone collectively to bail us out. Money isn't going to do... It???s the root of all-evil... Because if it???s given and not used the way it should be, what's the purpose? MEDIA is perception not deception; it is what you believe to be true. It saddens me to see how this is supposed to be the UNITED STATES...But yet we as people are so divided.... That???s why we are in the trouble that we are in....no one President couldn't do it all by himself. And we wonder why and want to put blame on everyone else.... Look at yourself first before you start pointing fingers at someone else...

    • Posted By: vlamb @ 11/01/2008 9:39:34 PM

You surely aren't saying we would be doomed by having a black man in the White House.

  • Posted By: Obama08Medina @ 11/01/2008 9:00:25 PM

Here is whats wrong with Mccain. He believes in trickle down economics(tax the rich less and they create jobs) .....Yet we have higher unemployment and a corporate bail out over the last eight years of republicat rule. He believes in globalization...Translation.....why worrie about things like education when we can get cheap labor oversees....allowing corporations to funnel cash upward not downward; While middle class americans lose jobs. He believes his ideology supersedes economic understanding and political common sense on the war. When he speaks of hard working americans he is talking to your self righteousness and lack of knowledge of how money fiters upward under republican politics. This is also a devisive effort to play the race card. And for anyone who believes he's going to stop abortion...He knows this is out of his reach as president and will blame others when he fails....but he is assured your vote. By the way if you have kids how are you going to feed them under republican trickle up economics. On the issue of abortion lets be clear, "I am against it", but I don't need John Mccain to make that decision for me...this is america and I have the right to make the decision for myself. I would rather he protect the american public from corporate greed and protect the average american being used a cattle in a political game.

The fact that so many of you are voting for one candidate instead of the other solely because of their economic plans proves to me that the citizens of this country are willing to trade moral decency and true American freedoms for self-preserving reasons. Does it matter if you will be slightly better off begin lead by Democrats or Republicans if the American way of life continues to be threatened?
When I lived in Europe West of the Berlin Wall, in the late 80s, I learned that Europeans didn't enjoy the same freedoms and rights that Americans had. If our Grandparents are known as "the Greatest Generation", then what defines the rest of us? What happened to America? Have we all attended the same public schools that taught there is no black and white anymore, but only grey? During the lessons of tolerance I think the message of right and wrong were smudged out. My children's generation think that it's wrong to have an opinion on someone else's beliefs. If we raise an entire generation this way then America is doomed to become a people of followers and we will cease to be leaders. I think that's what our enemies are waiting for. And, don't be naive to think that some of our enemies aren't in this country now just waiting for the signs to tell them when the time is right.
Let's acknowledge eachother's differences of opinion, but let's not forget that we are Americans and that should matter more than how many tax dollars the government is going to take from you.

you made the statement you WENT to an Obama rally. You DID NOT go to the McCain rally, you only see what the Bias media wants you to see. The McCain rally was very uplifting. McCain and Palin are true Americans. They both seem to truly care about this country. I can't say the same thing about Obama. In Obama's own words, "we live in the greatest country in the world, let's change it." Michelle Obama say's, 'for the 1st time, I'm proud to be an American". they come from back grounds of hate. Obama is cohorting with the bad guys and does not care for this America. He wants a new changed America. Oppress our freedoms, take away our shotguns, close the space program. He plans to take us back in time. Let's see, what other countries go back in time? Hmmm...the Middle East. Women...you must cover up...walk 3 steps behind your man. Saturday Night--Movie night--go rent "not without my daughter" with Sally Field. Good movie. maybe it will help open your eyes.

    • Posted By: vlamb @ 11/01/2008 9:33:13 PM

Jenna, if you want people to take you seriously, you have got to substantiate what you say--and not just rant. I don't know how old you are but you sound like a teenager having a tantrum. If you are old enough to vote try to get a grip and organize your ideas so that people don't get put off by all of that irrational emotion you are flinging around. I know this is an emotional issue for nearly everyone--on both sides, but that's not the way to have any impact in an argument--especially for a woman.

Wow, jssmith, maybe you can take some of McCain's tax breaks and buy yourself a brain. Are you kidding me? I have worked since I was 15 years old, and now at 45 continue to hold down a full time job while raising two kids by myself. Get off my dead ass? Why don't you get off yours, and get some oxygen to your deprived brain cells.

Well said baja_rider. 8 years ago, I believed McCain was a republican I could support - not so much now. I think his legacy will forever by tainted.

Dessertlady - term limits on the members of congress is a good idea as well because I think a majority of them are in the hip pocket of special interest (especially oil & finance). If we had a parliament system like the Brits and Canada, we could have dumped "W" before 2004.

RestoretheRepublic - I hear ya' on voting 3rd party but the reality is they cannot compete with the 2 party monopoly that a majority of us are caught up in. I'm putting the last of my faith in the 2 party system on Obama and hope I don't regret it in 4 years like those who voted for Bush 4 and even 8 years ago.

Neocons - there's no point debating against ignorance so I'll leave you to keep repeating Obama's middle name if it makes you feel better.

Obama will allow muslims into his cabinet right. This is what I heard. He wants to give more say to how we deal with the Middle East by giving them access to his administration. Why els would he want to talk directly to Iran's Mullah's.

Israel does not stand a chance.....

    • Posted By: animalkah @ 11/01/2008 9:24:13 PM

I would hope that he would allow Muslims in his cabinet as well as Jews, Christians, etc. The president's cabinet and advisors should be representative of the American people.

smitty, i think the obvious idiot should be pointed out to the one who obviously doesn't see the links full of proof of what is described on his comment, so definitely, you're the idiot, and I think the society you mingle with, and the one you don't along with the world itself would be better off without you. Sincerely, the guy that wants you to light yourself on fire and free yourself of your pathetic life.

P.S. I'm not voting for anyone because they both majorly suck, I just hate ignorant retards like you.
