Our nation was founded on the separation of church and state. Many of our forefathers were not religious people and many were. In their wisdom, they were very clear about separation of church and state. So please quit saying it was founded on religion. If that had been the case, we probably would not have had slavery at that time.

You are either stuip are bias when you say John McCain is'nt telling the truth about Obama and his lies about his tax plan. First he stoped in front of Joe the plummer house, second Joe ask a simple question then Obama let out he was a socialist or markist. He plainly said I will take from you and give to the less fortune, if you make 250,000. a few days latter he said 200,000 then Joe Biden said 150,000 then Bill Richerson said 120,000. who is lying. sounds like a bunch of Democrates. Rember 2006 election when the Democrate said we will stop the high fuel costs. 215 a gal. went to over 4.00 dollars a gal. then they said we will impeach Bush and end the Iraq war. I believe we still ther and Nancy is still Dancing the lies and Harry is still lying and Obana is still putting down women. and having Joe the plummer investgated because he made him show his true colors. he is a liear. windbag, thug, terroist, and racist, bigget.

In terms of nominal dollars to earnings, ability to pay, the tax system is regressive to much of the working class, including a 40k/yr laborer; and those workers directly subsidize their employer with after-tax investments in transportation, intellectual property and materials for production. The progressive tax system at the top end produces more nominal dollars but the income is gained at the greater benefit of externalities, extended over the population at large; and a significant percentage of legal-individuals pay no tax at all.

But the worst tax imposed on the working class is the unchecked printing of currency and infinite credit, which inflates value of necessary goods and services and deflates cost of means of production; i.e., changing the index of national production to include harmful and negative transactions, while eliminating or discounting basic costs of civilized living.

As present economic disaster is pegged at specific wrong-doing, the institutional economic flaws are continuing, even exaggerated, as the working-class rewards from progressively greater production are skimmed to bolster the error-costs of overhead.
The hard-working parents are defeated; the children see no future??? alternative economies of barter, exchange, and illicit business support more and more of the working class??? government loses its foundation tax base and restricts personal freedoms on the working class in a losing battle to protect the aristocracy, while undermining responsibilities assessed to externalities and social contract. Failure is certain.

    Re: Concernaboutamerica
We know where McCain got his money, and where his roots stems from, SLAVERY. I bet McCain is proud about his family history. DON"T SIT IN GLASS HOUSE AND THROW ROCKS!
America is made up from many nations OUTSIDE America, and many of these are self made, so anyone that are American and not white has to be corrupt, but then it is ok to praise those whose money came from slavery. This is typical rasist BS, and white suppremesistisk propaganda. Why don't you ask where Oprah got her money from.
You want change, you didn't like the change Bush brough onto America, he sure made a change that toileted everything with his Texan superiorty complex, and add to it the man can't speak for his life, don't believe in anything he spits out.
McCain is just another wolf in a sheep's cloth, no better than the second Bush.
I am not an American, nor black, and yet I can see the day of light very clear.

You people trying to talk down Obama thinking that he doesn't want to make our nation strong and that he's a socialist, etc. just don't seem to understand. Almost everyone in America knows that we need change more than ever (but maybe those of you pro McCain people don???t see that)...and those of you who believe that Obama is a socialist or whatever are just ignorant people who feed off of the erratic, ???hip-shooting??? name calling by the McCain campaign. I'm sure if they started mentioning that Obama was from outer space, you guys would be so ignorant to believe that too. If some of you guys think that you will be punished for realizing the American dream under an Obama administration, that's just plain greed (and I suppose that is something I should expect from republicans)...and that kind of thinking isn't going to help America grow. What Obama is trying to do is give support to the masses, the ones who don't make $250k a year, the ones who are struggling to make ends meet...the middle class, which is the majority of the people in the US. Thinking our country will grow just from a few wealthy people getting more tax cuts, all the while suppressing and not helping the larger group of America's working force, is just backwards thinking. Just look at the last 8 years under the Bush administration, the proof is in the pudding! If the majority of people do not have money to spend because they are finding it difficult to just keep up with daily expenses like food, gas and their monthly bills, what else will fuel America's economy. You think a few wealthy people who decided to go out and buy a Maserati will change things and stimulate our economy? I'm not sure why it is that some people think McCain is a better choice for America over Obama...what could it be, a lack of common sense or just plain ignorance? Obama is an American, and I'd rather the world associate me as an American who is like him, rather than the likes of some of you who think you are the "real/pro Americans". Oh, and those of you who attack Obama solely on his loose associations to certain people, what about McCain?...same assertions could be made about McCain, for instance, with Gordon Liddy or Charles Keating. Unlike McCain, Obama chose not to heavily focus his campaign on negative far-fetched attacks....rather he wanted to focus on the real problems our country is currently facing. And McCain seems to insist that he knows exactly how to catch Bin Laden???if he knows how to, then how come he hasn???t shared his secret plan already. And what?...if he doesn???t become president, then he???s not going to share his plan at all?...please, geez! We are truly lucky to have someone like Obama come along (especially now), to help lead and steer our country in the right direction. All the nay-sayers of Obama out there, please grow up (and grow a brain while you???re at it), and get over any issues you may have that are holding you back from change.

This "fact check service" seems to be a pro-Obama election service for Barack Hussein Obama. The fact is Senator Obama has an extremely liberal voting record. He is not a moderate by any stretch anyone's imagination. Please post the Voting record of Senator Obama and Senator McCain and let the public decide. It is time for the "liberal" fascists in this country to stop suppressing the truth.

    • Posted By: vlamb @ 11/01/2008 5:23:14 PM

      Dear deovindice--
Why don't you research the voting records and post them for all of us to read. It would probably be very educational. That OK with you?

You are right! The economy and security of this country for the past 8 years has been good. We recovered from the market crash caused by 9-11 and it wasn't until Freddy and Fannie and the Democrats program to force loans to be made to people who couldn't afford the houses they were being given (since they couldn't qualify normally) that the market and banking caused this crash. Blame all you want on Bush but it was Carter and then Clinton who put this housing crisis in motion. Republicans. tried to de regulate these bad loan policies but the Democrats heading the controlling committees were on Freddie and Fannie's payrolls which included Dodd and Obama and others stop and lied to congress saying everything was fine. Obama pushes pork (no change) and has been bought (no change), McCain pushes NO PORK and doesn't just vote along with the party lines. Immigration should be the #2 issue not guns, abortion, socail security and health care. Our Economy is #1 and More Taxes is not the answer. Less spending is the cure!

Yes, you're right Mr. True American..... we need four more years Bush - McCain Policies, so the country will really be destroyed. The Republican Way is NOT the only way as they would have everyone believe. As far as blame goes, Republicans would NEVER admit they did anything wrong. They have their scapegoat, Bill Clinton - Anything that has gone wrong in this country is Clinton's Fault - Clinton spent all the money and then some. Wrong ! That was King George W Bush. Clinton left Bin Laden on the loose. Wrong ! King George W Bush. ........ Come on ..... wake up..... before he gets us all killed.

I am sorry but any person who doesn't cover their heart with their hand for the national anthem and doesn't say the pledge of alligence just isn't AMERICAN enough for me. I was brought up to respect the land that I live in and to remember all those that have given me the right to live here. Our government was formed and is based on religon, you can't just pretend in God We Trust . There is far too many questions in my mind for it to be time to vote. There have been too many avoided issues by both canidates. I wonder will it be riots in the streets or war planes in the skies???

Why would anyone say Obama is a lier? What do you feel he is lying about? I have heard both sides several times and find that McCain twists and distorts Obama's raising taxes for everyone. I've read people saying Obama is taxing the middle class more to help the welfare. My question would be: Who is middle class that makes $200,000 - $250,000 a year. My family doesn't. and I don't get any benefits of welfare. And all this time I thought all this time my family was middle class. To the person who claims the military gets a lot of medical benefits...this is simply not true. I have a daughter in the Marines. You would be surprised at how much they have to pay for. She has moved up to CPL yet her pay would be considered close to poverty level. I constantly end up sending her things she needs that the military does not supply. (That's including gun oil and items to keep her gun from jamming. She's been to Iraq and I would have thought the government could take better care of our sons and daughters.) As far as liers go, when McCain came back after being a Pow , his wife took care of him till he got better. In the meantime she was in a terrible car accident and was crippled. During this time McCain cheated on his crippled wife with a woman 20 yrs. younger than him. If he will cheat on his crippled wife, what makes you think he won't cheat the middle class and poor?

Because he lies--He stated he barely new Ayres--Aryes hosting is coming out party for an elected office, serving on a boards with him, distributing millions of grant money given to him by Ayres foundation, and living in the same neighborhood. He didn't hear the Rev Wright over 20 years making disparaging remarks about whites while sitting in his church on Sunday. He won't raise taxes on the middle class when he is for eliminating the Bush tax cuts which gave a tax break toEVERYONE WHO PAID TAXES. Giving money to those who don't pay taxes is not welfare--WHAT WOULD YOU CALL IT THEN?, He is not connected to ACORN when he trained its leaders and is the recipient of thousands of hours of tax payer funded support for his election. He doesn't know his brother lives in a hut in Kenya, he doesn't know his aunt lives in a slum in Boston, he didn't vote against the born alive bill when he is on video indicating he voted against it. I could go on for hours. YES, HE LIES CONTINUALLY. I'm suprised his nose isn't as big as his ears.

      Analyses Favor Obama Tax Plan
Posted on: Friday, 31 October 2008, 09:20 CDT

Sen. Barack Obama's tax plan would mean a better break for those making less than $100,000 than Sen. John McCain's proposal, independent analyses indicate.

Further, the report says, Obama's presidential proposal would not raise taxes for those households making less than $250,000 a year, The New York Times said Friday.

McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, would cut taxes by about the same ratio as Obama, the Democratic candidate, for those making $100,000 to $250,000 a year, the analyses said. But, those making $250,000 and above would pay less in taxes under McCain.

"On the average, people with income below $100,000 would get more from Obama than from McCain," Robertson Williams, principal research associate at the Tax Policy Center, said.

McCain has sought to convince voters Obama wants to increase taxes and spread the wealth like a socialist and to employ policies that would hurt small businesses, the Times said. Obama has fought the accusations in speeches and commercials.

The analyses were conducted independently by the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, and accounting giant Deloitte.

      Dear rwmeyer1--
I see a Consumer Reports analysis of the two candidates' health care plans but nothing on their tax plans. Please provide a link so that everyone can read what you are talking about.
Meanwhile AARP has an article on the Tax Policy Center's analysis. The Tax Policy Center is a nonpartisan joint project of the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, It says nothing at all about raising the tax on a couple making 42,000 a year, though. Here's the link.

Obama is excellent in delivering speeches. His speeches compensates for his inability to provide leadership credentials. He used his community organizing skills in his campaign -- that's why Hillary never made it. He has foot soldiers to pump up his campaign. He will win the election because of this. This happened years ago in Germany, A leader rose with no experience except his acting skills and speeches. --And yes, he used the media to lure his victims. Another example is the previous Cuban "president" he also has a politican science degree-- did not have military expereince and executive experience as well- but then his country is more stable compared to any country in the world.-- And yes, he also gives great speeches and uses the media fto his advantage. Obama will be the next president because of american idiocracy.
    -don't be fooled.

Read Obama plans on health care, taxes, and education do not go on hear say. Read, Read and comprehend the plans. Do not blame the democrats for the failure of Bush policies. Republicians (Mc Cain and Palin) cannot disassociate themselves from President Bush. They went along with his policies and they fail and one wants to say I am not Mr. Bush but you still are a republician associiated bush policies and this economy mess. Mc Cain and Palin ,Republicans are spreading the message of divisiveness, separatism and racisim, enough is enough.

It is not about race if Colin were running I would vote for him. This is about ignorance. What track record can you show me that makes him quakified.

Warren Buffett, an OBAMA adviser said, ???The 19th century belonged to England, the 20th century belonged to the U.S., and the 21st century belongs to China. Invest accordingly.??? This very smart man???s prediction will come true and unfortunately this very smart man can???t do anything to stop it. Rather he seems to be helping make his prophecy come true with his support of Obama. (Perhaps one can???t blame him because if America deteriorates, Buffet has lots to gain from his China investments) America will make history this election day - not only is it expected to pick its first African American President but it will on Nov 4 2008 create history by marking the day when American Greatness starts to collapse. So many around the world have echoed this same sentiment but most inward looking Americans are not heeding this. They are just overwhelmed with emotions about their savings and the stock markets and mortgages! I don???t blsme them but haven???t they heard of business cycles?

This hard economic time will eventually pass but America will never again see its past glory as the torch moves on to China. Yes it is true the economy has not been good these last two years but America and the world lived in a relatively safe world and times were good in at least 6 of the last 8 years! Obama???s rhetoric that the last 8 years were all bad is an outright lie. If the last 8 eight years were all bad, Bush would never have been reelected in 2004! The economy came apart in the last two years and many Democrats are as guilty as the Republicans for what happened.

On Nov 4, there will be dancing and singing on the streets- not only by the Democrats but by the Palestinians, Pakistanis, Syrians and their fellow brethen. Osama will also be dancing in his tent claiming victory that Americans have voted with their feet about the unpopular war and will embolden him in his next move.

There still are skeletons in the closet as far as Obama is concerned and Americans will find out the hard way. Today???s AP News reported that Obama???s aunt is in the US illegally ??? so what would President Obama do? Grant her amnesty or send her back? If he grants her amnesty is he going to do so for the estimated ten million who are in the same situation? If the past is a predictor of the future, then it is likely that more such stories will come to light about Obama???s other friends and relatives that we have not yet heard about to this day.

You present the idea that a 62% federal and state income tax no big deal, this tax payer also pays real estate tax, and sales taxes putting the total at around 70%. 70% is confiscatory in anyone???s world. If you also factor in that the payer is getting the short end of the stick on Social Security, Medicare, probably works for a small business that is a job creator, and works 60 hours a week, reinvests in their business and also contributes US based capital generation. These are probably not the people who one would like to reduce their savings rate and discourage. If we have no savers in this country where will the capital come from to power the investment the economy requires for future growth?

I'm frightened by all the people who are scared automatically by Muslims. I'm disturbed that some people will trust another human being just because they say they're a Christian. "Foreign" has become synonymous with "terrorist" in some peoples minds. I think they just want to distract themselves from the fact that there are so many school shootings in America by young white kids (not that white is the only color of snipings) and they want to get mad at someone else.
