The Whoppers of 2008—The Sequel

When Obama first came on the scene, he seemed a nice enough man, so I decided I should learn more about him. This was well before any of the current "wars" going on. So I figured the best way to learn was from his own words, so I baught "The Audacity of Hope" in audiobook since I drive a lot.

For the first few chapters I thought "wow, we could do a lot worse than this guy", by the middle, I was thinking "I can't vote for him because his plans are proven not to work (Carter years). But by the end, I was saying "My gosh, this guy is a communist!". I was really glad when the "socialism" claim came out. Since I don't have a soapbox like the Hollywood Communist Party, I could only hope someone else would see the obvious and say something.

Educate yourself. Quit waiting for everyone else to form YOUR opinions. They won't save you "after the fact".

I couldn't agree more with Sheij - her summary of why not Obama is excellent. Our media is so in the tank for anyone who is not a republican, they are determined to have their impact. I credit Obama for being a terrific orator, he's one of the best. That doesn't qualify him to be our president. He and his wife have such dubious relationships, I too wonder how people can overlook the reality. I beleive it is because the dislike for Bush and or anything Republican has blinded them to accepting anything / anybody. All we can hope for is a surprise victory and the ability to keep a leader at the helm who does love this country. Michelle said it honestly, you can put lipstick on it...... but she spoke her honest beliefs. "This is the first time in my adult life.... She is the first person he'll turn to for advice. It is so difficult to understand how far we've been willing to move from reality in accepting him to lead the free world. Wow. I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying.He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy.He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that
Stand up and hold them accountable
Bush isn't on the ballot this year but his policies are

To goblue1968: Obama is not a Muslim nor is he Arabic. Please, for the love of God, get an education!! I am voting for Obama because I want a steady hand in the White House, and not an erratic President who will drag us into a war with Iran and Syria. We need to improve our relations with our allies so that we have support in fighting terrorism. Obama is for putting more troops in Afghanistan. He has said this many times, and that is where the REAL problem is. We need to find Bin Laden and defeat Al Queda and the Taliban.

American Patriot-it's people like you that encourage the antidiluvian views of a "not-so-bright" ideology. If you believe people should have to take IQ tests to vote, you could have a difficult time because I'm sure basic grammar and spelling would be prerequisites for passing the test. The media has "championed" Barack Obama because he is a qualified, intelligent individual who can make logical decisions and one who has solid plans for America--and both the media and the American people see this. And this is just part of the reason why Barack Obama will be YOUR next president.

If Obama wins this election, I would love to be able to hear from you supporters of him when the tax increases he proposes destroy our economy as we have before now known it. This generation of young people may not be able to survive having to get dirt under their nails. So you Obama supporters feel it is ok for some Americans to get increases by tax refunds on their sit-at-home, claim disability checks? This slack comes from both sides Dem and Rep. Also, a majority Demo Congress and Demo president leans itself to no checks and balances.

How is it a deception to claim that Obama favored higher taxes on families making over $42,000 a year? He voted FOR that very thing in a procedural vote. Does voting yes not mean what I always thought it meant?

Niether is telling the truth about anything. If the truth be known ... we probably wouldn't have much of an election. Very few people vote with any true sense of knowledge about a candidate. Last eight years should tell you that. I do kind of trust McCain a bit more on making government more accountable. I find Obama to be a text book example of an extremely good politicion.
