Hear Obama and Clinton for yourself, in their own words with out the filter of someone elses opinion..
Bill Clinton says Democrats failure to allow Republicans to regulate Freddie and Fannie caused economic melt down.
so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsynspIqAoE
Obama in this video, addressing his community activist work and his work representing ACORN in litigation against the banks and relating to the Community Reinvestment Act, and addressing the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as those actions relate to the destruction of our economy by causing the current real estate and subsequent financial crisis, states that, and I quote:
"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."
Acknowledging the catastrophe, but as apologist for the Democrats, Obama then offers this justification.
"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."
Yah, great idea. Economically unsound, but embraced by Obama. Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

And here is Obama again, stating
"And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,"

And here is Obama again in December 2007, promising a role in formulating policy during his transition if elected, despite saying he has no ties to this organization, Acorn

As usual, no mention of the CREATURE that is the root of our problems: The Federal Reserve, which is not federal and has no reserves. Anyone who has half a brain knows that the economy is controlled by the bankers through the Fed, and the current economic "bust" was planned to destroy the middle class and consolidate banking power, while the Army is in place to control us when we fight back. See "Rule by Fear or Rule by Law" and read The Creature from Jekyll Island, and watch "America : Freedom to Fascism". WAKE UP SHEEPLE SAMUELSON is part of the Problem. Cap and trade carbon credits is just a euphemism for global taxes in the relentless push for the new world order, while the solar spots die down and we just recorded record cooling this year. Another scam to shear the sheep......oh and the "bailout" notice how it all went to bonuses for execs, nothing for the people. WAKE UP!!!!
America's affluance has ALWAYS been under attack. All you have to do is go back to when Nikita S. Kruschev told John F. Kennedy the following: "We will bury you." Funny how that turned out.
Internationally, sure, the attack on U.S. affluence is a given, no doubts there. But where I see the attacks mainly coming from these days is within & the "blame America first" crowd has ALWAYS led that charge.
The latest attempt was Al Gore's "An Incovenient Truth" where the U.S. gets fingered for being the worst of the worst in natural resources usage.
My question is this: Being the world's main food & medicine producer, how much of those "squandered" resources went to grow, pick, sort, store, package, preserve, transport, deliver & distribute food to starving nations (the "blame America fisrt" crowd's FAVORITE charity)?
How about all the medicine & medical supplies we provide those same nations under the same flagship?
Yeah, our affluence is under constant attack, but the enemy ain't @ the gates, they've come inside, took off their shoes & put their feet on our coffee tables.
You do NOT raise taxes on the most productive during a recession. This economic truism has been ignored by Obama, who instead wins support from a populace drugged by the propaganda of the liberal mainstream media into thinking that the most productive should "share" their wealth instead of using it as capital to create more - the equivalent of stealing corn seed from the farmer to feed the villagers.

The people making more than $250K per year are not necessarily the most productive. The vast majority of small businesses do not have $250K of ???taxable??? income once expenses and materials are taken out of gross income. Our society has developed a much too top-heavy income class that does not produce anything, they just shuffle money around and think that they have earned a rich reward.
And just who are you to judge who is HARD WORKING, eh? Small Businesses employ 65-70% of American Taxpayers. Running a business is not hard work??
I dare you to walk into the nearest convenience store, dry cleaners or hardware store and tell them they are slackers and deadbeats.
that would be fine if those were the people to get taxed, but that is not the case. Osama and Biden have gone from $300k down to $150k, settling at $250k, but who really know what they want. Point is, taxes will hit everyone in some fashion.
Nowforsomemoretruth, here's what the coal miners union president said about Barack's comment: The union representing coal miners came to Obama's defense Monday.
"Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, have once again demonstrated that they are willing to say anything and do anything to win this election. Their latest twisting of the truth is about coal and some comments Sen. Obama made last January about the future use of coal in America," said Cecil E. Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, in a statement released Monday afternoon.
Roberts noted that McCain and the Republicans ignored Obama's overall point during his interview.
???Nowforsomethingotherthanthetruth??? exemplifies the measures employed by the McCain campaign starting with the anonymous smear emails that began when McC hired the Bush propaganda machine.
This deception campaign tries to benefit from party loyalties. It preys upon hate, prejudice and fear, and on the ???unanswered questions??? fabricated by the anonymous emails this campaign perpetrated. Links to debunks of many of those fabrications are in an earlier posting.
This is by far the greatest extreme ever in American politics. It is a fundamental threat to our political process. It would further entrench the Bush operatives who took over the McC campaign, and the republican lobbyists who represent only the megarich who looted our economy.
McC was a maverick. He promised to root out the lobbyists he said are what???s wrong with Washington. He said he would not take the low road employed by the Bush machine when it smeared him. He sold out when he got behind and subscribed to the ideology that the end justifies the means.
McC would continue the Bush tax give away to the rich that McC previously opposed and called ???irresponsible??? because ???it only benefits the rich.???
McC now wants to give more billions in tax give aways to oil companies that have just reported the largest profits in history for two consecutive quarters, while he claims that lowering taxes for everyone under $250k in after-deduction income will somehow keep businessmen from starting businesses.
???Nowfor??? has employed many of the themes in the anonymous viral emails. He recently said it was ???revealed that Obama has PLO buddies??? referring to Rashid Khalidi to whom McC donated $440k:
http://richmonddemocrat.blogspot.com/2008/10/mccain-funded-rashid-khalidi.html Guilt by association.
"Nowfor" continues repasting that the cause of our problem is a law decades old that encourages loans to qualified low income people.
Alan Greenspan said the cause is that an entire financial system was built outside of regulation; "we trusted" these self-interested looters ???to regulate themselves???. Credit Default Swaps resulted. They increased from $106 trillion in '02 to $531 trillion under R stewardship.
The legitimate news has reported that Fannie and Freddie paid many millions to McC's campaign manager, Rick Davis, who received up to $35K/mo. from Fannie and Freddie from 2000 to while he has been McC's campaign manager.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/22/us/politics/22mccain.html and http://www.newsweek.com/id/164732/page/1
Trillions were looted from our economy because the Rs allowed it. The Rs, including McC's campaign manager, are in the pockets of big money.
Without solutions, it is necessary to campaign with deception, misdirection, fear, smears, hypocrisy.
Attempts to hijack our political process with deceit and abuse of the trust of party loyalties are reasons I'm voting for Obama after 40 years of never voted for a Dem.

THE USGA WISHES TO INFORM ALL GOLFERS.........
There will be MAJOR rule changes to the game of golf which may occur sometime after November 4.
This is only a preview as the complete rule book is being rewritten now.
Here are a couple of basic changes.
Golfers with handicaps:
- below 10 will have their green fees increase by 35%
- between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees
- above 18 will play for free and even get a check from the club/course played
The $ amount put in for bets will be as follows:
-for handicaps below 10 an additional $10
-between 11 and 18 no additional amount
-above 18 you will receive the total amount in the pot and you do not even have to play.
The term "gimme putt" will be changed to "entitlement"
and will be used as follows:
-handicaps below 10, no entitlements
-handicaps above 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts
-handicaps above 18, if on green, no need to ever putt, just pick it up
These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness in scoring so that the final scores of all players will be about the same.
In addition, a Player will be limited to a max of one birdie and/or six pars, any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par. Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player making the birdie or par, can that Player begin to count his score again.
The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes but the term "net score" will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps 18 and above.
This is intended to "redistribute" the success of winning by making sure that in every competition the above 18 handicap players will post only "net score" against every other player's gross score.
These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf. Golf must be about Fairness Only, it should have nothing to do with Ability.
ANOTHER bleeding heart LIBERAL propaganda story on how America CAN'T do for themselves..
ANOTHER Liberal story on how people expect to be TAKEN CARE OF by the government.
DISGUSTING... that more don't udnerstand that by helping businesses, they create jobs..
AND LEARN HOW TO SPEND WITHIN YOUR PAYCHECK FOR A CHANGE,, BE ACCOUNTABLE!!
Hmmm, who lead us down the path toward this dark future? When we started using taxpayer money to relieve corporate irresponsibility--Savings & loans in the 80's, the airline industry this decade, and now the financial industry--that is when we started selling our children's lives. Everyone from the X generation to todays newborns will be paying for current and yet-to-come corporate scandels.
So who lead us down this path? President Reagan, President Bush of the 80's, current President Bush, and the respective Congresses. Thanks for nothing!
It is time to end the rouge version of free trade and replace it with real free trade. The way free-trade is supposed to work is if you have a current account imbalance, your currency should depreciate making imports more expensive and less desirable which shrinks the trade deficit. A self balancing process. With the current corrupt, special interest version of free trade, mercantilist Asian countries rig their currencies and multinationals provide domestic political cover in order to protect their labor arbitrage schemes, the real protectionism. Wall Street and international banks make their money off the excess money flows created by the imbalance.
The unholy trinity of special interests (multinationals, Wall Street and Asian governments) have rigged a game under the guise of free trade. If currencies rebalanced every few years, it would wipe out the profit margin of companies that have gone all-in, moving their production overseas. If free trade worked the way it is supposed to work, companies would balance their production domestically and overseas. It is time to end this perversion of free trade and replace it with real free trade.
The most vital thing for the US to export to restore its economy is ivory-tower economists who do not see that the average working person in America drives the economy. If the average consumer is poor, then the economy will suffer badly. We need the increased turnover of dollars WITHIN THE US. Every time money goes out of the country, the whole country suffers economically from top to bottom.
A nation is sustain by Gods blessing according to how it honors God. That is what our founders believed. A God that has created 125 billion galaxies with 300 billion stars each surely laughs at man (psalm 2). America God cries maybe. A nation gets judged in this life, we the next. Acording to US Supreme Court in 1892 citing 87 sources said we are a christian nation. Now obama says we are not despite 80 percent of americans consider themselves christian. "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of man and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"

Please crawl back in to your redneck cave. Your mystic psycho babble is no better than the Muslin clap trap.
Huh? Attacking Deists and Muslims in one breath. You sure are open minded. I'm not sure what the quotes mean either, but the vile hatred of your heart for people with different world views is clearly evident.
Barry's famous last words!
1. ???Call to Islamic prayer is one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset.???
2. ??? I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.???
Again a lie. He did not say he would stand with the Muslims. Check you facts again, and then tell me what he really said. If you had read his book, you would not have seen the word Muslim in that paragraph at all.
I am so sick of Joe the plumber that I switched my last minute decision from McCain the Obama. Palin really is just about as pathetic as Joe the plumber. however. The thought of this unqualified much of anything running the government in the case that something should hppen to McCain is truly frightening.
You are either lying and have always supported Obama or you are a fine example of an Obama supporter/convert. Choosing your canidate based upon Joe the Plumber's media exposure is almost as irresponsible as choosing based upon skin color. Issues man, Issues.
I hope Obama has better decision making skills than his supporters b/c he almost certainly is going to win.
Unqualified?? You have Barry telling one group that he will guarantee their jobs and then he wants t bankrupt the coal industry??
What planet you from, eh?
I don't understand, he has constantly said he want's to use clean coal. So what is your point?
Taxes: To cut or not -- from "Economist's View": The role of taxes in a recession.
http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2008/10/tax-cut-follies.html
The most troubling to me is not the accusations of terrorist friends and other undesirables of Obama, but the ARROGANCE of the man to feel he DOES NOT HAVE TO DISPUTE them. Any candidate running for the Presidency should be open enough to at least address accusation which does not go away.
But he is arrogant enough to believe he is above reproach.
I don't like that about this man. It is a continuing pattern of heartfelt self-deserving indulgence.
Nobody needs to argue with such nonsense. Let me ask you benluclar, "When did you stop beating your wife?" Why don't you explain this to the American people? Are you afraid to answer? Why are you so arrogant that you do not deal with this question? Hunh?"
older, but not wiser,
Your response is illogical. That question is one used to teach 5th graders about how phrasing a question can suggest negative actions. You suggest their is no safe answer. How about " I have never beaten my wife." If you think Obama can't handle these types of questions or come up with decent answers in difficult situations how can he be President? Not answering questions you don't like is your solution.
And lets not forget the Court, and decisions like Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005).
What does redistributive mean. Well, remember that it was the liberal Left-Wing Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court that brought us this little jewel, holding that the government could take your real property, like your home, not for public use like a road or school, but to give to another private individual, such as a political contributor or other party hack or interest group. You remember this one.
Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005), was a case decided by the Supreme Court of the United States involving the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another to further economic development. The case arose from the condemnation by New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property so that it could be used as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan. The Court held in a 5-4 decision that the general benefits a community enjoyed from economic growth qualified such redevelopment plans as a permissible "public use" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote the majority opinion; he was joined by Justices Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.
The decision was widely criticized by American politicians and the general public. Many members of the general public viewed the outcome as a gross violation of property rights and as a misinterpretation of the Fifth Amendment, the consequence of which would be to benefit large corporations at the expense of individual homeowners and local communities. Some in the legal profession construe the public's outrage as being directed not at the interpretation of legal principles involved in the case, but at the broad moral principles of the general outcome.

Obama's stimulus plan: nightmare
The proposals, costing $60 billion over two years, include tax credits for firms that create new jobs, penalty-free withdrawals from retirement accounts and temporarily barring banks from foreclosing on people trying to pay their mortgages.
So the way we are going to solve the recession is by encouraging people to spend their retirement money and rely even more on a Social Security system that is going bankrupt and by encouraging them to stop making housing payments by taking away the threat of foreclosure. I am sure that last one will make banks more willing to lend money.
Obama's tax plan will spell disaster for the US economy. Like most leftists he fails to understand that you cannot raise the standard of living of the poor without economic growth and that you do not create economic growth by "spreading wealth around." You have to create more. Unfortunately, Obama seems to have his heart set on instigating revenge on the "evil capitalist classes" in form of higher taxes on big business, the very sector which drives the US economy and whose economies of scale mean lower prices for the consumer. They'll get back their money by raising their prices which means Americans will have fewer dollars to spend on the kinds of things that smaller businesses provide - resulting in more small businesses folding or downgrading.
