This is a different time and a different era. One must move forward and not be stuck in the pass.

Never judge anyone by the color of their skin, but by the deeds they do. I'm a true believer of that.

The point I'm trying to make is, You have good law biding citizen, and some not so law biding citizen of all race. It's never a black or white issue's when it comes to breaking the law.

Obama has come a long way and done very well for himself. At least give him that.

    OBAMA for President 08

If we all were color blind, we wouldn't be having this discusssion.

      So Very very True.

As a white lower middle class American, I have to agree some what with your analysis. I have never been a racist nor do I find it necessary to act against my nubian brothers. However, racism runs in all directions, and I can truthfully say that I have felt discrimination from blacks, asians, hispanics and so on in my life. Racism is not a white problem, it is a human problem. There is no doubt that black people have suffered. We have all seen a decline in 'class' status in the last eight years, we have all lost income during the Bush years. That is all but the wealthy. I did not get to go to college, I'm 57 years old and I have never made more that $30,000. in a year. I have however, made the effort to work and support myself and my family. I have managed to remain impartial to race and other 'dividing' factors as well. All I can say is, until people, in general, drop the banners, we will never see true freedom for all.
PS : Don't forget that the powers that be use these tools to divide us and keep their place at the top!

Someone on here said, "by reading this thread of comments, you would think it was the end of the world"! I agree! OMG! It is not the end of the of the world. For once, can we stop looking at the color of a man's skin and give him a fair chance. Let's take color out of this senario. All those of you, who are hell bent to issue ugly and hateful verbage, needs to get down on your knees and PRAY! Pray to whomever you believe in. Remember, a man's biggest fear, he will face,(all of our bills will come due) and if that fear is a black man....that indeed is alot to say about character. May God, or whoever you that wish to speak hate, based on color, believe in, bless you all!

Well, this is interesting - I can ***, white trash but not ***!

  • Posted By: ariziowa @ 11/03/2008 3:01:29 AM

Mr. Patterson, you make many good points. I am a white male, and grew up in the 60's. Voted for McGovern when I was 18. However, I also grew up with the "black panthers", "forced busing", gangs, etc., etc. Oh yes, of course affirmative action. Orlando (well at least it's not Latifah, Bunifah, Shanisha, Jackson)., there is a rift between black and white. I married a lady from Mexico City. 3 wonderful children. So, my prejudice is with ***, spics and white trash.

    The McCain Campaign:

John McCain has proven himself in this campaign to be an angry low road politician who failed miserably to show himself to be a fair and decent individual, with the stature to rise to the Office of the Presidency.

Leading a campaign that (even though major news orgs constantly debunked his ads) almost exclusively resorted to the constant barrage of outright lies, distortions, and the sleaziest of attack ads. Showing himself, instead, to be a little man, he displays a nasty, divisive and confrontational attitude with limited vision and dimension of thinking. He is minimally accomplished as a statesman and, as shown by his own actions, is conspicuously absent of the temperament and the diplomatic and leadership skills necessary to adequately represent and lead this nation in promoting international respect and cooperation on the future world stage.

The United States can do much better than John McCain, On Tuesday, I am betting the nation will agree.

This will be the first time I ever voted. It feels good, only because I feel we finally have someone worth voting for, since Clinton ran. My votes goes to, Obama - Biden ticket.

From what I been reading, listening and watching. McCain has socialize with some shady people too. McCain also been involved with Acorn. Acorn hires shady people to get people to register to vote. Not Obama's fault anymore then McCain's fault.

Only thing I would believe is what comes out of the person's mouth, meaning Obama's & McCain. I have certain views on certain issues, If that Canidate has most of my view's. I'm going to vote for that person.

No way is Palin ready to be President, if something happen to McCain.
Now if it was Hillary, I would say Yes. Hillary is a very very smart person.

Well, its come to this. A McCain supporter in Michigan forced trick-or-treating children to pass a political test before she would give them candy. If they liked Obama she refused to give them any. Is this who we want to be?

On Tuesday we can vote for reconcilliation and unity or we can reward divisiveness. Its up to US.

Thhat is alittle bit of a racist comment, and it seems to be biased in predictalbilty, the election is not over and history will show that the Republican party has been the real voice for equality

    • Posted By: rabprevent @ 11/02/2008 6:13:33 PM

The republican party is a lot of things, the real voice of equality is not one of them! The republican party is a party of racist, they smear and spread fear of anyone who disagrees with them. They cheat and lie as often as they can to get what they want. This race might not be over, however their window of opportunity is cloosing fast!

The problem with Obama is a simple one. One association does not a radical make. But in Obama's case, the list of left-wing radical mentors and associates is seemingly endless, (Davis, Ayers, Wright, Khalidi , etc., etc.) with a new revelation practically every day. With that trend, a picture begins to emerge, and that picture is that Obama is as steeped, not in just left-wing political thought, but in radical left-wing economic and race ideology, to the same extent that Pat Robertson was steeped in the ideology of the radical Religious Right. I would not have voted for Pat Robertson for dog catcher, and for similar reasons, I will not vote for Obama.

Lets not forget the Court, and cases like Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005).

What does redistributive mean. Well, remember that it was the liberal Left-Wing Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court that brought us this little jewel, holding that the government could take your real property, like your home, not for public use like a road or school, but to give to another private individual, such as a political contributor or other party hack or interest group.

Kelo v. City of New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005), was a case decided by the Supreme Court of the United States involving the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another to further economic development. The case arose from the condemnation by New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property so that it could be used as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan. The Court held in a 5-4 decision that the general benefits a community enjoyed from economic growth qualified such redevelopment plans as a permissible "public use" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote the majority opinion; he was joined by Justices Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.

The decision was widely criticized by American politicians and the general public. Many members of the general public viewed the outcome as a gross violation of property rights and as a misinterpretation of the Fifth Amendment, the consequence of which would be to benefit large corporations at the expense of individual homeowners and local communities. Some in the legal profession construe the public's outrage as being directed not at the interpretation of legal principles involved in the case, but at the broad moral principles of the general outcome.

Ever since the 1960's, the GOP consistently has been the party of exclusion, the party that attempts to diminish those who look different than themselves, pray to a different deity, or follow a different lifestyle. They are the party that uses fear and hatred as a weapon to intimidate any who do not share their points of view.

In the current presidential campaign, there has been a deliberate, yet subtle component of racism that can been seen in the hate-mongering being perpetuated by McCain, Palin, and the RNC in their speeches, ads, mailers, and robocalls. Skinheads, Aryan Brotherhood, KKK, John Birch Society and the like regard themselves as McCain's "peeps".

McCain, Palin, and the RNC have behaved like juvenile delinquents playing with matches and negligently starting a wildfire, and then disavowing any responsibility for the resulting property damage.

Really? So, what would you call this statement, for example. I believe he is a democrate, and now that we know Obama has PLO buddies, no thanks to the LA Times, looks like maybe Jesse Jackson knows a good bit more about Obama's politics than the national media does, or JewsForObama for that matter.

      "Press Releases

AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jacksons Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades."

"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. "This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

Sounds a good bit more like Hitler to me. Isn't this the same Democrat leader who once called New York "Hymietown" ?
