redneck69, "black" is not a race, it is a category. The vast majority of "Negroes" in America have some to a lot of "Causcasion" in their bloodlines. At least as long as they are a minority and a very noticable percentage of the majority are prejudiced against them, they are going to be categorized as "black" as long as they are not "lily-white".

I would not be able to determine the validity of the most significant statements in this article unless/until the author, Mr. Patterson, clearly stated his definitions of the words 'racism' and 'race.'

As far as I can see, the evidence is that there is only one 'race'---and that is the white race. The white race is the collective of persons who classify themselves as white AND who generally function as white AND who mistreat and/or deny help to any person who he/she classifies as non-white such in any area of people activity including economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, sex, and war.

[There is not yet any such thing as the ???human??? race because no person is yet humane. No person will be the quality that he/she should be until the system of racism (white supremacy) is replaced with a system of justice. Justice = a system in which no person is mistreated and in which, if any help is given, it is always given most to the persons who are most in need of help.]

I do not understand how the recent ???bailout??? of corporations such as AIG meets this definition of justice.

Obama's mother was white. To say he would be Americas first "black" president is false; he is half black, half white which makes him a Mulatto.

It is so hard to go through and read some of these comments. I have been jumping from article to article to see what people have to say, and voicing my opinion along the way. It seem as though we are loosing sight of what America stands for! Remember all of the Great people that died for our freedoms? Remember Martin Luther King Jr, John Lennon, JFK and Bob Marley... just to name a few. They all had one thing in common, freedom and peace!
I am not saying that I agree with the people out there that this presidential race has everything to do with race, keep in mind that Obama is in the lead and America is majority white. I am, as a matter of fact, white(female) and my family will be voting for Obama this election year. We know all about his connections and ties to certain groups. You tell me what polititian doesn't have ties or connections to a shady person? I see it like this: What person out there doesn't have a family member or friend that they do not share the same values with? Does this mean that you can't love them? Now on the other hand, if that family member commited murder would you still invite them for dinner? What is worse, having different values or "paling" around with murderers? I don't think I've read that any of Obamas associations are murderers.
Anyway. Our Country is is in need of some major help in so many different ways. I can go on and on and on. Health care, our deficit, our schools, the war, our friends and family members who are loosing their homes and jobs(this is real). Do we buy gas or that extra gallon of milk this week? My husbands job is straight commission, if the economy is doing bad, our family is doing bad. We feel the pain right here at home. Our health care premiums are half of our yearly income. We are a family of 6 living on one income. It would be really nice to know that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. My husband and I believe that Obama is that light. His speaches are moving, he has meaning and purpose. He motivates and inspires. How can you not believe? I guess it really doesn't matter because the dems will get their chance this time around! It's time for change, and we are def looking forward to it!

Mr. McCain???s letter of recommendation reinforced Mr. Diamond???s selling point about his McCain connections as he pursued ??? and won in 2005 ??? a potentially much more lucrative deal to develop a resort hotel and luxury housing.

REP RICK RENZI (R-AZ) indicted for extortion, wire fraud, money laundering and other charges related to a land deal in Arizona.. Renzi has been good friends with John McCain for years.

CHARLES KEATING. Keating 5 Scandal. Keating made contributions of $1.3 million to John McCain, and called on Senators to help him resist regulators in exchange for the money. McCain got the regulators to back off, to later trigger the Savings and Loan Scandal which cost the taxpayer BILLIONS. Cindy???s dad also has special dealings with Keating.

RICHARD QUINN. McCain payed $20,000 a month to this political consultant, a neo-Confederate, who was one of the leaders of the state???s pro-flag faction. Editor in chief of Southern Partisan, a magazine that published apologias for slavery and sold paraphernalia celebrating the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. McCain describes Quinn as a man of integrity.

And, my favorite... G. Gordon Liddy: John McCain has repeatedly praised G. Gordon Liddy for his --adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.-- Liddy is a CONVICTED felon who plotted and executed acts of domestic terrorism. Liddy planned the Watergate burglary, the burglary of Daniel Ellsbergs psychiatrists office, the assassination of columnist Jack Anderson and the kidnapping of anti-war protesters at the 1972 Democratic Convention. Much more recently, Liddy used the bully pulpit of his radio show to advise his listeners that should Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents come onto their property, to AIM FOR THE HEAD because the agents would be wearing body armor. Liddy was actively instructing citizens on how to most effectively KILL law enforcement personnel.

McCain has aligned himself with Rev. Hagee, Pat Robertson and (the late) Jerry Falwell. These are men McCain once described in highly negative terms, but happily accepted their political and monetary support to secure the nomination. And, then knowing how the public views them, dumped them. Says alot about his character.

While there are several variations of a viral email that tries to blame a few thousands of political donations to some Ds, the actual, legitimate news has reported that Fannie and Freddie paid many millions to Republican lobbyists to lobby Rs, only, to PREVENT REGULATION.

McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, received up to $35K/mo. from Fannie and Freddie from 2000 to present, to lobby Rs,only, against regulation. Freddie paid Rick Davis while he has been McC's campaign manager. Freddie donated $250k to the R convention.

You can try to distract people with fears about 'those guys'. Lies, distortion, deception. 'Socialist' is only the last in a long, now desperate, list of labels you have tried to pin on 'that one'. That's all you have left.

Since we have no more ideas, let's keep running our campaign on fear, smears and hypocrisy.

John McCain voyed with bush 90% of the time. now he wants nothing to do with Bush. Has he changed or will he put us in worse shape- also Palin has Alaska upside down. court cases everywhere. will that change.If Palins prank call yesterday was real, where would this world be today? Dont just question one, check them all out. they all have something they have done or said. but McCain people act like McCain has done nothing wrong because he serviced his country. I have family (2) who still have a bullit in there leg and chect that cant be removed. He is not the only one who havs been hurt in a war and how long ago was that.
